I've noticed a lot of us TTC number 2 and struggling after getting pregnant fairly easily with number 1!
Thought I'd start a thread so we can all support each other 💕💕

Yes holding strong but very tempted! I’m the same with symptoms, was just telling my husband my boobs were very ‘zingy’ 🤣 Feel free to list any symptoms to a fellow crazy over here! I’m with you and can’t seem to find the balance between being positive and getting my hopes up too high. This week is a busy one for me so hoping that helps! Crossing fingers and toes we get good news soon

So I caved, did a test this morning, think I'm 7dpo and got a vvvvv faint positive. I wish I hadn't cos now I'm just terrified it will.end in another CP :(

@2BabyOrNot2Baby I’m trying to see the longer age gap as a positive because it means a longer time for it to be just us three! A few of my mum friends are pregnant with their second and my son told me this weekend that it was ‘his baby turn’ 💔

Ah I'm sorry that must be hard for you 💔 you're doing everything you can and that's more than enough, he'll be a big brother before he knows it!

How old is your boy if you don't mind me asking?

Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you!
7dpo is still so very early and it's very unlikely you'd get a strong line. If you're worried about a chemical, do you think you're able to hold off testing for a few days till AF is due? You'll have stronger lines by then x

So this was always my plan but I felt like I had such strong symtpoms so thought I'd test
But now am like they can't be symtpoms and have such a faint line, so have put myself in an even bigger query. The plan is to retest Friday when my AF was due and see what it says, its my birthday weekend so I think I was worried about being disappointed then but now am even more confused!

You'd be surprised. I didn't actually test positive (with a faint line) with my little boy until my period was a week late, but had been so exhausted the whole week leading up to when AF was supposed to be. I tested the date I was supposed to come on and had a flat out negative so it's not always as straightforward as we'd hope it to be 🙃 HCG doubles every 48hrs so could be worth testing Wednesday?

but then I'm so impatient and want answers immediately so I'd be testing every given chance 😶

Wishing you all the luck ✨

So it was the same with my DS I didn't get a BFP until a couple of days after AF was due! Only with my miscarriages have I got a positive so early which makes me even more nervous.
Shall try and patiently wait until Friday! 🫣😬

It's nuts isn't it, it seems like you only ever hear about people getting their positive before or just after AF, never the late ones 😆

I understand. Hoping this is a brand new happy start for you and your family🤞🏻🍀 x

@Eatsleepbakerepeat just catching up on all these messages! I was thinking I need to message and say all your possible symptoms sound like a great sign. I’m so delighted that you’ve had a positive test 🙌 I completely understand the anxiety that comes along with the excitement though. If you can hold out, try to give it a few days before testing again so hopefully you can see a change in the line and feel reassured. Sending all the good thoughts your way and am so happy for you!

cheeseycrumpets · 29/04/2024 18:38

@2BabyOrNot2Baby Thank you for your kind words ❤️ This was the first chat where he’s seemed even aware of babies and I broke my heart a bit. This morning he told me ‘baby here in tummy’ and lifted up his shirt so maybe that’s what he meant by his turn 🤣 How old is your son? Mine is two so I know it’s still a small(ish) age gap in the grand scheme of things. I think I just got caught up in things because my MMC was meant to be due at the ‘perfect’ time…

I need to practice what I preach don't I 😂😂
I've then started debating if it's an indent and basically sending myself mad haha not healthy

How are you doing today

AF due Friday 2 previous miscarriages (jan and march)

Early positive or indent? Sending myself mad so would appreciate some opinions 💕

@Eatsleepbakerepeat I haven't used these tests before but I would say that's positive. Hopefully be clearer over the coming days, fingers crossed for you 🤞

Hello ☺️ can I join? TTC #2 after falling straight away with #1 first cycle and only DTD once 😂

Just had AF show up so cycle 5 starting.. I really thought we would just decide to have another and be able to because of our first so I'm getting a bit 😬. Our little one is 5 so am panicking I've left it too late for us. I'm 37 and my husband is 40...

How are you doing today

I’m good but super impatient this week! You’ve definitely tempted me to test today 🤣 I’m still going to try to hold off until my period is due at the weekend (aka an eternity). Keep us posted on any future tests! I’ve never done those strip tests but think I can see a faint line in the pic you posted

It's so hard isn't it! I only did it cos I felt so rotten, and even sat here now I could throw up, but not sure if that's a mind rather than a pregnancy thing!

Think ima retest tomorrow morning then Friday. When do you think you'll test?

They know exactly how to tug at your heartstrings don't they! Ahh bless him! You never know he may be hinting at something 😉 he's just turned 19 months. I did start freaking myself out a little bit the other day that my 'time is running out' for the best age gap, but told myself that it just means more time to spend with him. Especially as he'd be going off to nursery at 3 - just means I get to spend more 1-1 time with him.

Completely normal to be getting caught up in those thoughts and feelings but honestly there is no 'perfect time', that's been a very hard pill for me to swallow. We've had some unexpected problems pop up since having him, that I think regardless of when they happened, it would've been less than ideal, but ESPECIALLY with having a young baby. I appreciate they're very different situations (and my heart really goes out to you), but nothing rarely ever goes perfectly. Don't put too much pressure on yourself with this, you deserve kindness too. No matter what age gap your babies have, they'll be best of friends x

Was this taken within the timeframe? I feel like I can see colour in this so swaying towards positive! 🤞🏻

Just praying it sticks the thought of another MC breaks me

I get what you mean. Are you able to test again in the morning? I know how hard I'd find it to wait til Friday! 🙈

So I tested again just a faint line again but it's not been 48 hours so that doesn't surprise
Ima retest Friday I think I didn't get a positive with my DS until 1 day post AF being due, and I'd tested the day of my AF and got nothing!
Just hoping and hoping, I have so many symptoms but now I'm like are thrse mind over actual matter?!
The weekend shall tell I guess

@Eatsleepbakerepeat great to see another line this morning, even if it’s faint! Hopefully you’ll be able to see more of a change later this week. I went to take a test this morning but my husband talked me out of it 🤣 I was rushing off to work anyway so not ideal timing for any kind of news but the temptation was definitely there! Not feeling loads today in the way of symptoms but I had none the entire first trimester with my first so who knows?! Are you going to wait until Friday before you test again?

cheeseycrumpets · 30/04/2024 19:26

@2BabyOrNot2Baby Thank you for your lovely message! I’m sorry you’ve had some tricky issues pop up recently hope things will feel more settled when number 2 arrives. It’s helpful to think of the positives in a bigger age-gap, I already feel my son is growing up so quickly and am trying to focus on cherishing this time where it’s just us three. I feel like I’m age-gap spotting all the time at the moment when I see families out and about and all sibs get on and are close in different ways. You make it work whenever it happens! How long have you been trying for your second?

Yh I'm just praying by Friday it has multiplied and is much stronger

I feel rotten, surely this isn't purely pregnancy?! I feel so so so sick it's unreal, the thought of having such strong symptoms. With such a faint line makes no sense to me!

When I got my positive with my son I couldn't believe it and kept testing every single day, getting up earlier than I had to so it wouldn't play on my mind at work - didn't turn out that way, I just spent the entire shift giddy instead 😆

2BabyOrNot2Baby · 30/04/2024 22:22

@cheeseycrumpets Oh yeah, I completely get what you mean. I will say though that my sister and I have a relatively large age gap at 9yrs, but we get on like a house on fire (we can also cause an argument in an empty house but we'll ignore that). We still have sleepovers at my big age, do each others hair/makeup, go shopping and everything else smaller age-gap siblings do. I can also say that even though she is still young herself (16), she's such a brilliant auntie, my son adores her. It must also be quite nice for her having a much older sister too, anything she doesn't want to say to our parents, she says to me, comes to me for advice, etc. it's like having another parent (except without the responsibility 🥳). So I can understand and appreciate smaller and bigger age gaps 😊 x

Forgot to add - Been trying since December now. I know it's not that long but it does feel like an eternity. Trying not to get too down when AF turns up though, as you say, it's extra time as the 3 of us 😊 forgive me if you've said but my brain is like a sieve, how long has it been for you?
