I've noticed a lot of us TTC number 2 and struggling after getting pregnant fairly easily with number 1!
Thought I'd start a thread so we can all support each other 💕💕

Hi! Yep, unfortunately this is the case for me. Pregnant cycle 1 with #1 and now on cycle 7 trying for #2!

cheeseycrumpets · 16/04/2024 05:56

Thank you for starting this thread @Eatsleepbakerepeat , I’m in the same boat here! I was pregnant with my first on cycle two and only now realise just how lucky I was. I fell pregnant this Jan (also cycle 2) but it ended in an early MMC. It’s hard to not be consumed by it all so this month I’m doing some silly fitness challenges so I can hopefully see some positive results in another area of my life! Have you changed your approach to TTC now that it’s taking longer than you’d like? Sending everyone luck for their next cycle ❤️

Eatsleepbakerepeat · 16/04/2024 08:43

Thanks both for joining! It's so hard isn't it, we went into it so naively cos of how easy it was first time round
We started trying in December and since I've had 2 early miscarriages, it's been hard, the Dr's have been very dismissive as I have a DS my body can clearly do it, is all they keep saying, its been heartbreaking

I'm just praying this cycle is our time 🤞🤞

We haven't changed much, my husband started taking multivitamins too, and we've done some couples yoga just to try keep us chill, I just want to be 8 weeks pregnant and with a heartbeat so I can actually relax a bit, I just feel so nervous then disappointed each cycle!

Have you both changed anything?

Awww I know how you guys feel. I conceived my son first cycle. Stared trying for second when my son was 18 months. Nothing happened until month 6 and that was a chemical. Now 4 months after the chemical (cycle 10 ttc) I am 4 and a half weeks pregnant. I am very happy but also very nervous as I know it’s early and this ttc journey has given me more anxiety than with my first. I won’t celebrate fully until I have my first scan.
We had fertility tests a couple of months ago and my husband’s morphology was low. So I got him eating healthier and taking supplements. We both started taking Naître supplements the past month. I’m convinced they helped.

Optimistic66 · 16/04/2024 11:53

Hi, can i join? TTC number 2 is a weird place - because infertility sucks but people who havent had #1 look at you like 'well atleast you have one!' but it just as lonely and sad.

I have a 3 (& 4 month old) - we've been trying since he turned 18m without even a whiff of pregnancy. Bizareley have stopped ovulating - we are on our first cycle of letrozole and currently 8DPO - so desperately hoping this is my cycle.

I have no idea whats changes since having him and everywhere you go you see bumps, and people with multiple kids. I am the last one left out of my 'mummy friends'. How do you guys all feel?

deliwoman1 · 16/04/2024 12:14

@Optimistic66 you summed it up perfectly. A 'weird place' is exactly it, and like you say, just as lonely and sad.

I had a bit of a slog to conceive no1. It didn't take long technically - DD stuck on the 5th cycle we tried, but I had three losses before that so it was about a year all told. So I was prepared for no.2 to be a battle, especially because I'm 41 now, but still!

Trying since last July, with one bfp so far that turned out to be anembryonic. Caught it early though and had surgery in late December. I think we're on cycle 8 now. I'm 7 or 8dpo now and just know it's not my month again.

Daisyrobin123 · 16/04/2024 12:28

Would love to join you guys!
Concieved ttc #1 on the third cycle (which felt like forever at the time but afterwards I realised how lucky I was!)
Now on cycle 6 of trying again and I keep switching from being really positive and hopeful to feeling really down and pessimistic. I normally ovulate cd15 but it's cd17 today and I've still not had a positive opk. We have dtd 5 days in a row as was expecting to ovulate yesterday but still waiting.. don't know how long I can keep going 😂😴
It's all such a mind game isn't it!!

jellyfish2210 · 16/04/2024 19:38

We have been trying for #2 for 14 cycles. Decided to have this cycle off as my mental health was suffering and I definitely feel less stressed about it now. AF due tomorrow/thursday then we will get back to trying again.

I'm so grateful to have DD who is 5 but I always pictured my life with 2 children. We moved to a bigger house two years ago, bigger than we need as a family of 3, hoping we would soon welcome our 4th family member but it hasn't happened yet. Have had tests and apart from my high BMI, all is well. Nice to know others find this position to be weird too!

Eatsleepbakerepeat · 16/04/2024 22:41

I have no idea where I'm at, I had a CP 5th April and the GP said to start trying straight away which we have, I have no idea when I'll.ovulate this month but I feel awful today, like I did in early pregnancy with my DS but I don't think it's physically possible for that to be the caseI'm hoping my hormones calm down soon! So over thisReally hoped this month would be my month but feeling very unsure now

Isn't it exhausting

Please can I join? We conceived my little girl so quickly (she will be 3 in June) and have now been trying for our second since December. I took my little girl for her first full day at nursery yesterday and my period turned up...4 days early! I honestly hate the whole process, I find it so frustrating and stressful.

Confusedddddddd · 17/04/2024 11:36

Please can I join? I'm on cycle 11 which started today 😭. DD took 6 cycles to conceive and she just turned 2. I had an ectopic last year which was first cycle/accident and nothing since.

Having a Hycosy this month to check my remaining tube. I also started CoQ10 and omega 3 last cycle which did extend my LP to 12 days.

Eatsleepbakerepeat · 18/04/2024 23:36

How's everyone getting on?

2BabyOrNot2Baby · 19/04/2024 00:41

Another one who'd like to join 🙋🏻‍♀️
Conceived #1 after 11 months trying and currently cycle #5 and 9dpo.
Had a few different symptoms up to now - nauseous, really sore boobs, extremely vivid dreams, etc. But also really mild cramps, headaches and so hungry which has made me feel like it could be AF.. Wishing everyone luck 🤞🏻

EmmaAM · 19/04/2024 07:13

Currently just waiting for AF to finish before starting this cycle. This one seems to have really got to me for some reason, my mood has been a lot worse than normal 🙈 how is everyone else doing?

mamataylor · 19/04/2024 21:04

Hi! Please can I join? Been TTC #2 since July last year, got a BFP 3 months later in October but miscarried at just over 8 weeks in November. I’m currently 12dpo in my 5th cycle of trying since our loss last Nov.

sending lots of luck and baby dust to you all ♥️ it’s comforting to know I’m not alone in our struggle to conceive a much wanted second baby.

TTTC24 · 20/04/2024 09:26

I just took a test at 12dpo not feeling very hopeful as I had given up trying a bit - not taking my vitamins, had a couple of nights out and wasn’t tracking ovulation. It’s not like me to test early because I can’t handle the stark whites (only tested now because I’m working away Mon/tue and AF is due Monday).
Anyway, I got this….what do we think?😬
im thinking of going to get a proper test today and a digital for tomorrow too to see what they say….

TTC #2
deliwoman1 · 20/04/2024 09:45

@TTTC24 that’s a definite positive. Congratulations and good luck! 🤩

I’d given up too. Was still tracking ovulation, but I was slacking on my vitamins and basically very pessimistic. Got a faint positive at 10dpo and tests are getting darker, though maybe not as dark as I’d like. It’s hard after loss and a struggle to conceive.

TTC #2
cheeseycrumpets · 20/04/2024 12:39

@TTTC24 and @deliwoman1 so lovely to see those tests! Congratulations and positive thoughts to you both 🙌

It looks like I’ve ovulated a few days early this month and don’t feel like we’ve optimised our chances so feeling a bit down. I’d set a stupid goal of being pregnant before my son’s bday in May but after my MMC in Feb that’s looking highly unlikely! Hopefully getting this ‘deadline’ out of my head will take off the pressure a bit going forward.

yeah you never know, I’ve been so pessimistic recently about it all but it only takes one time doesn’t it and as long as it’s round your fertile window, there’s a chance!! 🤞

keeping my fingers crossed and sending baby dust to all ✨

Confusedddddddd · 20/04/2024 21:51

@deliwoman1 @TTTC24 congrats to you both! I sometimes think when you relax, that's what makes it happen! I know with #1 the months we conceived was the one where we had a big night out and both got absolutely hammered. And hubby used a hot tub (I was mad about that thinking we were now out for the next few months!)

2BabyOrNot2Baby · 21/04/2024 20:37

Congratulations to those with BFPs 💖
Sending baby dust to those still waiting and the ones going into their next cycle ✨

Eatsleepbakerepeat · 21/04/2024 21:17

Congrats for the positives!!! How are you feeling?
Anyone still waiting this cycle?

I'm still waiting for AF but convinced I'm out for this month.
Been seeing really really faint lines the past few days but pretty sure they're just indents/evaps. On one hand I'm unsure as it's been 4 tests over the course of 3 days that I've seen them (2 different brands also) but on the other hand they've not been getting any darker at all.
How are you? Are you still waiting?

It's torture isn't it, keeling everything crossed that faint line is there!
And I'm 1dpo do in the tww, I'm trying to keep busy, take my mind off things, and this month my husband and I have agreed to not do a test until my AF is due, I had a CP last month at about 4 weeks , but I found out about 4 days before AF, and we've decided this time we'd rather not know and think we hadn't fallen on.
We shall wait and see if I can resist though! Easier said than done eh!

2BabyOrNot2Baby · 21/04/2024 23:29

Thank you, kinda just hoping AF will hurry up and show so I can start back over, but at the same time obviously hoping it stays away! It's so hard being in limbo! My cycles are really messed up again, so currently 11dpo, but CD37 😮‍💨 one of my apps predicted yesterday for AF, the other suggests tomorrow. We'll see 🙃

I'm so sorry for your loss, I can't imagine how heartbreaking that must be. Sending you lots of love 💖 That's a great idea but you're right, it is hard to resist - you can do it though! Sending lots and lots of baby dust your way ✨
