I've noticed a lot of us TTC number 2 and struggling after getting pregnant fairly easily with number 1!
Thought I'd start a thread so we can all support each other 💕💕

@Eatsleepbakerepeat completely understand taking a break from the thread, I really hope things get better for you soon. So sorry you're going through this, sending you love. Look after yourself ❤️ xx

@YouveGotAFastCar hope you're okay sweet x

@BurritoTamer You may be lucky and he might not drop them for a long time! I've known a lot of babies who'll keep their nap going up until nursery age when they have to drop them!

@mamataylor Oh lovely I know exactly the type of sore you mean! I'm right there with you 😭
I'm out of work at the minute as a result of a dodgy back after having my son (pregnancy really is the gift that keeps on giving), so I also feel you with the lack of resting & relaxation! My boy is currently in the smacking stage (HELP) and it's really not helping much to just feel a thwack whilst trying to breathe through the nausea 🥴

Oh no, sorry to hear that 😔 are you having physio? Hopefully pregnancy doesn’t cause it to play up too much.
Oh no! It’s hard to know how to navigate that behaviour as every person you speak to about it has a different way of handing it 🙈
this morning was the first morning I’ve had to sit by the toilet as I thought I was going to vom - all the while my little girl was screaming at me for her cup of milk.. zero sympathy from the ruler of our house clearly 😂 xx

SlackAlice28 · 10/06/2024 22:53

Hi, I’ve been lurking but wanted to join 😊 I’m also TTC #2. Our little girl is 15 months but I’m still breastfeeding - is anyone else still breastfeeding and doesn’t have a regular period back yet? I feel so torn between wanting another baby but not wanting to stop breastfeeding my daughter 😩

Ah we're getting there, I had surgery May last year and still not 100% but definitely getting somewhere with physio. We're just a bit stuck at the moment as to how we can progress a little further due to the nausea and impending bump 🤣
I did try to ignore it and not give it attention as I thought maybe that's what he was seeking but it absolutely does not help 🙈 just have to keep reminding him of gentle hands. I know it's a completely normal developmental stage but I must admit, it's definitely my least favourite so far 😬

Ohhh it's the absolute worst isn't it, I find the feeling of needing to worse than the actual act of it. I hope it doesn't stick around for you, in my first pregnancy I tried everything to get rid of it. They didn't work 100% but I used anti sickness bands for when I was working and they definitely helped to an extent. Hard boiled and fizzy sweets too! Try to keep your fluids up. I hope little lady hasn't given you too much grief since 😆 I'm currently being treated to Wiggles choreography 🤣 x

Hello and welcome! Unfortunately can't give advice on that as I never breastfed. I do know a few women though who were like you and as it got closer to #2 being born, #1 started to naturally wean off. Same age range too! X

2BabyOrNot2Baby · 11/06/2024 10:09

Just thought I'd add as it doesn't seem to be too well known -
I had a pretty big bleed at the weekend and I ended up going to EPU as it really was a scary amount and after carrying out an examination they came to the conclusion that I'm not miscarrying, but I am experiencing what a lot of other women do. Basically when you're pregnant, literally everywhere in your body changes thanks to your hormones, and your cervix can get really irritated and cause a bleed. Can be caused by things like sex, exercise, an especially active day or many other harmless things. So it really is worth keeping in mind that as scary as it is, it really can just be nothing. I'm estimated to be a week behind what I thought I was (so now 6 weeks instead of 7) but did attend the week prior too so it's not too early to attend, they'll do their best to figure out what's going on for you.
They also reassured me that they'd rather I came back every week if that's what it took to keep me at ease. I know a lot of time, we'll put off going because we think someone else is more in need. You and your pregnancy are just as valid and worthy of help and support when needed.

Only mentioning as I know a lot of women will have bleeding in their pregnancy and it's so easy for your mind to go to the worst place and it's so so scary

YouveGotAFastCar · 11/06/2024 11:53

I had that, @2BabyOrNot2Baby - My cervix is apparently really sensitive to hormones so bled, which scared me a couple of times! I'm glad they were lovely.

Sadly I have lost my baby. HCG tests never got darker, they were pretty gone by Saturday, Sunday night bought some discomfort and I started bleeding pretty heavily yesterday. It's carried on today. It was early days but I'm so heartbroken.

@SlackAlice28 Lots of my friends had their seconds before they stopped breastfeeding, one has three now. It's really rare to need to stop feeding. It's also unlikely to help your periods come back once they're over 12 months - mine came back around 18 months.

I am so so sorry to read this. You are in my thoughts, be kind to yourself, its a brutal time, and if you want to chat you're more than welcome to private message me. The state of pregnancy holds no correlation to how much this hurts and I am so so sorry you're going through this 💕

They can go from so sweet to so nasty in the space of seconds can’t they 😂 they’re like little tornados!

100%. I’d rather wake up and get it done with and move on with my day 😂 I used anti-sickness bands last time too - I don’t know if it was the placebo effect but I think they helped a little bit. Pick’n’mix are a firm fav at the moment 😅 I seem to be craving quite a lot of things this time whereas last time I didn’t.
haha, we like the wiggles in this house too! mine loves to sing and dance allll day 🤣 x

Oh absolutely! He's honestly the sweetest little boy I've ever met and has a heart of pure gold, but my god he can turn into a right little bully when he wants (and usually only to me)! Toddlers really are like mini teenagers, it's scary 🫣

You may be onto something with the placebo effect, but I'll just ignore that and convince myself they're magic 😅 oh I think you've just awoken a new craving for me, I know where my husband will be going after work 🤣 hopefully all the cravings make it easier for you to be able to stomach foods, that's how I justified buying fresh strawberries daily last time 🤣 ahh they're so funny aren't they, the little wiggly bum dance and changing all the words 🥰

Definitely little teenagers - we’re 2 weeks off turning 3 and we’re fully in the ‘threenager’ stage 😂 RIP to me when she’s an actual teenager 🫣

I think these first 12 weeks are all about survival, so whether the food you’re stomaching is good for you or not doesn’t count 😂
Fresh strawberries 😍 even better if they’re picked from a farm shop too!! Definitely a good but expensive craving to have if buying everyday 😂 xx

On the bright side, by the time she's a teenager you'll have plenty of practice 🤣

You're so right. The most nutritious thing in my diet at the minute is strawberries 🫣 at least they're healthy right!? God fruit really is expensive, between me and little man we go through so much! I'm so glad he's interested in it but it really does amount to a not so small fortune!

Hope you're doing as well as you can right now ☺️ x

I’m doing ok thank you lovely! Hope all is well with you?
I had an early scan on Sunday last week and was measuring slightly ahead at 7w2d so feeling positive! Now 8w1d so feel like I can see the end of the first trimester 🙈
I’ve been given some anti-sickness tablets for my nausea which seems to be doing the trick. We’re currently on holiday in Rhodes so it’s been lovely not doing anything other than eating & lounging about so that’s probably helped slightly too 😂 x

YouveGotAFastCar · 23/06/2024 07:25

Ah @mamataylor that sounds lovely.

I thought I’d done well about the loss this week, but my very pregnant best friend is now back from holiday and has two weeks left of work, and her only topic right now is babies. I’m genuinely thrilled for her and she doesn’t know, so she’s not being insensitive, but my heart hurts. I don’t know how I’m going to survive the imminent baby fever from our group of friends.

My cycle this month seems really odd, too. No sign of ovulation yet.

Oooh you're a day ahead of me! We had a scan on Monday and they confirmed I was 7+2! Hope all was well with baby x Oh how amazing 😍 can definitely think of much worse places to be! ☀️ x

I'm so sorry😞completely normal and okay for you to be feeling the way you are. You're doing amazing and you're so strong, you've got this lovely ❤️

Would you be willing to tell her about your situation? She's your best friend, she'd be more than happy to support you and help you through this x

Lovely to hear all the positive updates from you @2BabyOrNot2Baby and @mamataylor the first trimester can be tough so I’m glad it’s flying by and hope you’re feeling ok!

@YouveGotAFastCar sending you a huge hug ❤️ It’s so hard when you’re genuinely happy for someone else but also hurting for yourself at the same time. I agree that it might be helpful to talk to your friend about the loss if you feel able to.

I feel like I’m on cycle 1 million of TTC #2 but need to remind myself it’s only been a few months since my MMC! Easier said than done but taking a break from ovulation testing for a bit to see if that helps.

I’m so sorry. Navigating loss when everyone else seems to be pregnant around you is so hard. Following my loss last November I felt exactly the same as you - happy for friends but sad for me. Your feelings are 100% valid ♥️

Much to my shock after my miscarriage last month which was my 4th this year, I'm now 5+1 weeks pregnant!!!
Praying this is the one for me, but time will tell 🤞🤞
