I've noticed a lot of us TTC number 2 and struggling after getting pregnant fairly easily with number 1!
Thought I'd start a thread so we can all support each other 💕💕

@2BabyOrNot2Baby oh it’s so tough in these early stages where being a week off can change things so much! I’m sorry there wasn’t a bit more clarity at your appointment, have they booked you in for a follow up next week? Easier said than done but try to trust in what they told you and stay off Dr Google. Sending big hugs your way xx

YouveGotAFastCar · 04/06/2024 09:39

I'm so sorry, @Eatsleepbakerepeat. Look after yourself, you've been through so much.

YouveGotAFastCar · 04/06/2024 09:41

@2BabyOrNot2Baby Oh how stressful. This happened with my son - they couldn't see much at all and were adamant that either something had gone wrong, or I was a week out. I knew I couldn't be a week out. It was a hellish week waiting for that next scan, but all was fine there, and he was measuring the same at 12 weeks - so my due date was set to a week old from where I knew it should be. He caught up around week 18 and then I had to have a load of extra scans because he was measuring "big" by their dates, but all was absolutely fine and the sonographers reassured me that this happens all the time.

I hope the week passes quickly for you!

2BabyOrNot2Baby · 04/06/2024 10:47

@cheeseycrumpets @YouveGotAFastCar thank you ❤️
They've not asked me back for another appt, only told me to come back in the event of pains getting worse or if bleeding starts, so it's now onto the wait for our dating scan 🫠
Yeah, they put me back a week with my boy and were insistent I conceived on x date, when it absolutely was not even a possibility, even if it took the 7 days to do it's thing. We were then asked back for multiple growth scans in the third trimester and eventually admitted for an induction due to reduced movement and him not growing anymore - came out a completely healthy weight so I'm adamant they were wrong all along, and was doing everything I (safely!) could to go into labour from 39 weeks, too scared to go to 42 weeks in case I was right and they were wrong 🫣 I can see that happening again now..
I'm just going to have to try to find some really good distractions for the next 7 weeks and only use Google to check my spelling or baking measurements 😅

2BabyOrNot2Baby · 04/06/2024 10:48

@YouveGotAFastCar how are you getting on? X

Just read a lot of this thread, it's such a rollercoaster of emotions isn't it - fingers crossed for all of us.

Im also currently TTC number 2 and just about to enter the 2 week wait 🤞🏻

Thank you, I'm just a little lost. Measuring earlier than we thought we were, out by a week and with it being so early, you really couldn't see much. I had a scan this early with my son and we could definitely see a little more with him. They said they're not worried about it but I can't help but worry 🙈 we were also told we weren't as far along with him, which I feel was definitely wrong but also feel like I can't really argue with the people who are trained in this for a living 🙃 hope you're doing well x

It’s still so early so I think it’s totally normal to be measuring slightly behind at the moment. Baby is still so small so getting the correct measurements can be hard. I completely understand it’s hard not to worry though ♥️
I’m ok thank you. 5w+2 today! Tiredness has kicked in so I’m soooo thankful my little girl is sleeping through consistently now although she’s just got over a sickness bug so there was one night with no sleep 🫠 xx

I'm still getting faint positives - they're getting bolder. Always positive now, but boldest with FMU, very faint during the day. My period is due on Thursday - I can't believe I've been testing positive since Saturday! 3+5 today which feels crazily early, ha.

My toddler slept for 7 hours last night 😍 I am so hoping that will become the new normal...

2BabyOrNot2Baby · 07/06/2024 12:54

@mamataylor Aw bless her, hope she's feeling much better now and you're getting some decent rest! The fatigue has hit me like a train this week, I'm so exhausted no matter how much I've slept and little man has decided that day time naps are no longer in 😩

@YouveGotAFastCar It's bittersweet knowing early isn't it! Feels like time slows down massively! Ooo here's wishing that's becoming a common occurrence! My little boy has slept through the night for a while but just will not go to bed early no matter how hectic the day has been or however long I've been trying to get him down, a blessing and a curse 😆

I hope everyone on the thread is doing well and treating themselves kindly ❤️

cheeseycrumpets · 07/06/2024 18:08

@YouveGotAFastCar such great news about your tests! It’s a bit crazy that we can find out so early isn’t it?

Because of our crazy house renovation and travelling I couldn’t find my ovulation tests so I’ve gone without testing this month and definitely feel a bit lighter for it! I’m about half way through my cycle now so we’ll see how it all goes.

Happy Friday to all and hope you have a lovely weekend!

She’s so much better thank you! They bounce back up as quickly as they go down don’t they. She’s slept through the night since Monday which has been blissful.
Bless you. I’m definitely feeling the tiredness too. It always seems worse mid-morning 😩
Sorry to hear your boy has dropped his naps - my little girl dropped hers literally overnight at 2.5 🫣 I was so upset 😂 hope you’re not having many other symptoms x

YouveGotAFastCar · 08/06/2024 08:20

I think it’s over for me.

I’ve felt rough this week. Joint pains, cold, achey, irritable. I’ve read they can all be normal pregnancy symptoms but I didn’t have them the first time. Tests were progressing fine though, and Clearblue early tests give a good line. I took a weeks detector one yesterday which said 1 - 2 weeks, so I was pleased with that. I started to feel better yesterday but DS now has a viral rash, and is very clingy.

I had a tiny amount of pink blood on wiping yesterday, just once, but it did panic me. FMU was very faint this morning though, and SMU is negative… I should be 4+1, so I think FMU shouldn’t matter anymore. My temp has dropped, too. Not below cover line but a good drop from yesterday.

Theres no active bleeding so I don't think EPU would care, especially this early on.

I’m heartbroken. Toddler DS has been talking about the baby in our tummies. We’ve been really careful not to mention it in front of him so it’s probably because I’ve got a lot of very pregnant friends, unless it’s instinct, but it’s so bittersweet this morning.

DH is still optimistically hoping for the best, and sure I’ll be testing positive again tomorrow.

I’m wishing you all the best x

I’m so sorry you’re in limbo and unsure what’s going to happen 😔 thinking of you. Take care of yourself ♥️
you’re only 1 day past your period due date, right? So SMU may still be too diluted to pick up the HCG in your system this early? Really hope this has a positive ending for you x

Thursday, so a few but not long. And SMU has been pretty positive for a good few days now; so it’s a marked drop off to today. I’ve been testing positive since this time last week, so it feels a lot longer than that!

But thank you. There’s a big part of me that’s still desperately hoping that it’s not going wrong somehow, but also a lot of me that’s sure that it it’s over.

Try not to worry yourself too much. I second what @mamataylor says in that it still could just be diluted. It really can just be like that sometimes. When I was pregnant first time round, I had loads of unexplained bleeding (small amounts of pink, sometimes light red blood but never enough to fill a pad for example), and I did go to EPU pretty much every single time. I told them that I feel stupid running to them everytime it happens but they insisted that they would much rather I came along or called for advice than to leave myself worrying. It is super early so they wouldn't really be able to pick anything up with a scan or anything but they may be able to give you some helpful advice or things to look out for. If you're still worried about it come next week, would you be able to speak to your GP to have bloods done? Really sorry you're going through this, hopefully it is just a blip and (as scary as it is), it is just a random unexplained bleed like I had.
Also hoping your little boy is better soon xx

Oh absolutely! It's amazing how resilient they really are! Same!! And then I get hit again with it come dinner time which is annoying because bed time is so close, yet so far! He'll only ever nap for me if we've been out, but as soon as we reach the front door he's wide awake again 😩 he doesn't even seem better rested for it either 🫠 I'm so jealous you got the extra time, he's only just 20 months 😭
Only other thing I've noticed is boobs. Omg it's so painful, I don't remember it being this bad first time round, I'm trying to wear the baggiest clothes I can find lol x

Wishing you all the best! Just to add I had lots of spotting with my last pregnancy which I now have DS. On its own I don’t think it’s too much of a worry, but of course you know your body best! BF wt

It does sound hard if your little one has that awareness around new babies, they’re so clever and taking everything all in aren’t they!

BurritoTamer · 08/06/2024 19:40

@mamataylor @2BabyOrNot2Baby you guys are giving me the fear, I literally revolve my life around DS’s nap (he’s 16 months) and can’t bear the thought of him dropping it haha…!

Same here. This time round is going to be so different to the first time! When my Maternity Leave rolled around last time I was so excited for a rest but this time i’ll have toddlers to chase after 😂
Oh no, 20 months?! I pray it’s just a phase in that case 🤞
My boobs are so so sore! Like when it’s really windy and it hurts them sore 🫠 or when you’re going up and down the stairs they hurt sore 😂

Mine dropped hers OVERNIGHT! Literally napped one day for 1.5 hours like normal and then the next nothing. I mourned her nap for a long time 😂 now it is nice to have the freedom during the day with no nap schedule though x

True it would be nice to go out and about at lunchtime, my boy won’t nap anywhere but a dark room so it’s always my top priority lol! I see your post above refers to “toddlers” in the plural do you have more than one? If so I salute you! No idea how I’m going to manage this new baby alongside my little whirlwind… that’s future me’s problem tho right! My boobs have been ok this time but the nausea is sooo much worse this time and appears and disappears at random. Didn’t have any last time I was so lucky!

I'm taking some time off here ATM but couldn't read this and leave, especially after how lovely you've all been with me, I'm sending lots of love and baby dust and hoping this is just normal spotting that a lot of people have in early pregnancy! 💗

Thinking of you, be kind to yourself, listen to your body, and get some advice if you need it 💕

No, I don’t! That shows how much I was distracted when writing that reply 😂 I really don’t think I could cope with two the same age - I salute parents to twins 🙈
I’ve had a bit of nausea the last few mornings and all my toddler has done is run rings around me.. I’m scared the nausea is going to lead into morning sickness like last time!

2BabyOrNot2Baby · 09/06/2024 18:17

@BurritoTamer You may be lucky and he might not drop them for a long time! I've known a lot of babies who'll keep their nap going up until nursery age when they have to drop them!

@mamataylor Oh lovely I know exactly the type of sore you mean! I'm right there with you 😭
I'm out of work at the minute as a result of a dodgy back after having my son (pregnancy really is the gift that keeps on giving), so I also feel you with the lack of resting & relaxation! My boy is currently in the smacking stage (HELP) and it's really not helping much to just feel a thwack whilst trying to breathe through the nausea 🥴
