I went to reply and you were right, the thread was full so I couldnt post a link to a new thread, also, because it's a new thread it wont give me a prediction to tag when I type a name, so I have just copied and paste the names off of everyone who posted on the very last page of the thread, I hope anyone else can find it OK. Sorry, maybe there is an easier better way... if anyone else can remember extra names and spellings, please tag 🙂

I got my abdominal ultrasound report in the mail today and they also added in the actual ultrasound pictures. Definitely a trigger I wouldn’t expect.

SnookyPook · 10/05/2024 14:04

@samilicious so sorry to hear about your MiL - what a shock for you all. Had she just flown then? Hope she makes a great recovery. 💗

HerbaceousPerennial · 09/05/2024 16:43

@Ladyinpink1 ah I’m so sorry to hear that. The more I read about miscarriage, conception and pregnancy, the more mysterious and random it seems, it’s so frustrating. I’ve not tried reflexology but I feel like it can’t do any harm, worst case scenario it’s just a very expensive but pleasant foot massage is my view! And it may help. I am going look into acupuncture though, I’ve made a coping plan after this latest miscarriage and having tasks like that help to keep me sane and help me feel like I’m doing something. Yeah I physically miscarried whilst DH was in hospital overnight with our son after his operation, I would not recommend it. It’s been a shit couple of weeks! I was lucky to have a friend with me though, she is a truly fabulous human being.

@purplecolouroffunk I am a bit weirded out by starting to try again so soon too, my last miscarriage took 2.5 months. I got my negative test today and I’m not bleeding any more so I think I can start trying now which feels so soon, I only miscarried 9/10 days ago. I think maybe I need to wait until it’s been 2 weeks? I’m not quite sure what the right thing to do is!

I’m so sorry to hear about your losses 💜

The doctor who did my D&C advised a 2 week wait for us just to avoid any infection. She also said not to Google anything cause it’s all absolute rubbish and conflicting 😂 So hard not to though!!

She said there’s no medical reason you can’t try again before your next period but she’d recommend waiting just from a dating POV. Because after an MC I’m guessing if you go to a scan and are dated not where you thought you were, that it’s going to be distressing.

I’m totally with you though, it feels weird the possibility of being pregnant again this early. I’d say go for it if you feel comfortable mentally and physically! I keep seeing things about your ‘lining not being ready’ etc. but apparently it’s all rubbish. I feel like if your lining isn’t ready then you just won’t catch!

We sort of DTD not realising I was fertile so just have to deal with that reality now 😂 It’ll be a long TWW!

Ladyinpink1 · 10/05/2024 19:59

Ended up having an awful day yesterday. Today was much better though, lovely and sunny too so we had the paddling pool out, a bbq and def another bfn today so some nice bubbly. Hope everyone else had a lovely day and is doing ok. x

Thank you @moosey89 how are you? x

That is so awful @HerbaceousPerennial How is your little boy today? I'm sorry you gave had such a tough time. It is very frustrating and too random as you said. Is acupuncture better for ttc do you think? x

@samilicious Oh no, that's awful, it must of been very sudden, how is your MIL now? I really hope they caught it in time.
Wow! You are an absolute superstar typing all of that out, it must of taken you ages! Thank you very much, quite a few vitamins on the list I am already taking but some I dont recognise so I am going to research and find the best brands etc. So reading the title of the section struggling to concieve, does the writer of the book say that following this will help conception as well as a healthy egg? I am up for trying anything at this point x

Was it good news in your ultrasound report? x @emmatcc1

@Ladyinpink1 It’s just a tiny calcification in my liver, probably gonna just keep monitoring once a year as it does not cause me issues. The only thing I’m concerned is if it’s fine for my liver enzymes now to be constantly elevated, apparently it plays a role in fertility.

HerbaceousPerennial · 11/05/2024 15:58

Thanks @Ladyinpink1. He’s recovering well although it’s stressful worrying about whether the surgery has been successful and whether he’ll need more. It’s just a lot to have on at the same time! Add in the guilt because I’m short tempered and tired and some days I just wish I could hit pause on life to be honest, just get a bit of a break from everything. I’m not sure at all about acupuncture to be honest, a friend of mine tried it and it didn’t help her get pregnant but it did regulate her cycles. She was told to try it by her fertility clinic. I’m going to look into it further, I’ll let you know what I find out but if anyone else has any experience please chime in! I’m sorry you had a crap day, BFN is the worst for ruining stuff. Glad yesterday was a bit better at least, cheers to you and hope you enjoyed the bubbles. Serious bbq envy here!

@purplecolouroffunk DH is looking very appealing at the moment so wondering if my hormones are coming in to play! It might be wanting the emotional connection I think too. Might give it until tomorrow then it’s near enough 2 weeks. Good luck, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Very close friend had her baby yesterday. We were excitedly planning shared mat leaves with my first loss so it hit me pretty hard. I was in bits and really felt like I wasn’t going to be able to cope. But I’m feeling more ok about it now, being able to just drop in to the group chat about it when I was ready and with no pressure because everyone understands helped a lot. It’s a bit of a weight off my mind to be honest. Next challenge will be meeting the baby!

13lucy · 12/05/2024 07:49

Morning all - sorry for the radio silence again. It was all getting a bit much with so many people around me being pregnant so tried to put it all out of my mind.

Feels crazy to say this but had a BFP this morning. I don't even know how I feel right now and part of me doesn't believe it!

@samilicious sorry to hear about your MIL, what a shock! I hope she's doing ok.

@Ladyinpink1 sorry about the BFN. You are such a strong and lovely lady and I really hope it happens for you soon.

Ladyinpink1 · 12/05/2024 08:15

@emmatcc1 will you have another appointment to check then? x

@HerbaceousPerennial You shouldn't feel guilty, what you have been through and are going through right now is emotionally and physically exhausting, any of us on here would be short tempered in your situation. It's so hard when your child is unwell in anyway, it hurts a different part of the heart. I really hope you can get some time soon where you can just switch off and have a chilled day. x

Wow, congratulations 🎉 @13lucy maybe the break frim thinking about things did the trick then! I know you will be worried too but I hope it sinks in for you in the next few days and you can feel good about it. Thank you for your kind words x

@HerbaceousPerennial thank you - she got treated quickly thankfully and was touch and go in the hospital for 24hr as it happened another two times. Such a shock after being together on holiday all week - she's only 54. Hope your little boy is doing ok and the surgery was successful

@CluelessInLondon thank you 💕
@SnookyPook yeah we landed 22:30 she had it 3:30 at home in bed :(

@emmatcc1 ugh so horrible to get unexpected ultrasounds. My stomach churned when I read that. Hopefully the test and results give you some answers to make up for it

@purplecolouroffunk hope your tww doesn't drag too much

@Ladyinpink1 meant to reply to your fish comments before - you're going to have the fanciest eggs ever 🧐 👑 🥰 need a very posh regal name if that does the trick. Or a fishy one !
It says that most pregnancies fail because of egg quality and egg quality can cake up for sperm quality when they come together if it's strong enough. It was the quantities for me and spreading through the day - was taking 100mg coq10 now taking 600 and same with folate. Also going to up vitamin d - only ever conceived after a few months of sun so must have something to do with it!

samilicious · 12/05/2024 08:36

@HerbaceousPerennial that really sucks about your friend's baby, and not the best timing either with everything else going on. Big hugs

@13lucy that's amazing about your BFP! Totally get wanting to distance. How many DPO are you? Were there any signs? They were right about shorter cycles not affecting things then!

@emmatcc1 could you see a fertility specialist to ask them or even post a new MN thread to see what others ttc with liver calcification say?

CluelessInLondon · 12/05/2024 09:44

@13lucy This is amazing news! How far along do you think you are?

@samilicious How is your MIL doing now?

emmatcc1 · 12/05/2024 10:20

@samilicious That’s a good idea, thank you. I’ll try and see if anyone is going through the same.

HerbaceousPerennial · 12/05/2024 15:35

@13lucy that’s great news, congratulations! Think it’s a long journey to believing it’s actually happening so not surprised you’re feeling a bit strange. I put it down to the running 😊

@Ladyinpink1 thank you, that means a lot. I’m trying to cut myself a bit of slack but it’s not always easy. Hope you are having an easier day today - have you found any hot tips on how to conceive faster on the other group?

@samilicious your poor MIL. 54 is young. Glad she was treated quickly, gives her the best chance of a good recovery - fingers crossed. Hope everyone is doing a bit better today. Yeah it’s exquisitely painful with my friend, I feel like I’m behaving like a crazy person and probably a bit over the top, trying too hard to be ok about it all. I really, really want to be ok about it. I think it’s just a case of pushing through and I know she’ll forgive me for being a bit bonkers at points thank goodness. On the egg quality front - I read some interesting papers about the egg ‘repairing’ DNA damage which has come from the sperm too, so Operation Gamete Optimisation has begun in our house 😂

I looked into acupuncture for both fertility and miscarriage, got into the scientific papers again and from what I can gather, it seems to be quite helpful if you’re having IVF, but jury’s out for recurrent miscarriage and for PCOS as it seems to improve cycles and pregnancy rates, but not live birth rates. However data is mixed. What’s clear is it doesn’t do any harm at least, and it may help, depending on the research you read and exact circumstances. So I think I might try it.

13lucy · 12/05/2024 21:34

Thanks all, still very surreal.

@Ladyinpink1 it was a longer cycle (ovulation day 24) so no idea if that's got anything to do with it. Nothing felt any different this cycle.

@samilicious 14 DPO today and the only thing has been my temperature staying high and sore boobs (although I get that leading up to my period anyway). I had long cycled but short/light periods. I'm still feeling nervous as I know my lining was quite thin when I was scanned last month.

@CluelessInLondon must be 4 weeks as I ovulated two weeks ago today. I hope you're doing ok?

@HerbaceousPerennial I do wonder if running helped! I've stopped it for now though as I'm terrified of doing anything 'wrong'!

CluelessInLondon · 13/05/2024 11:13

@13lucy Very exciting - understandable that it's feeling surreal, especially when you were feeling worried about your cycles and what that might do to your chances. I think it takes a while for the reality of being pregnant to sink in anyway, and even more so after a loss when you have the extra anxiety to deal with and it's hard not to second-guess yourself. Do come over and join in on the grads thread when you feel ready. ❤

(TW: Pregnancy update) I'm doing well thanks, had my 20 week scan on Saturday so I am somehow halfway now! Have started to feel a few movements too - surprised I haven't felt more as baby was bouncing around all over the place at my scan. 😂Felt pretty anxious in the long gap between the 12 and 20 week scans as it's long time to be in your own head worrying about what might have gone wrong, but am feeling more reassured now to have seen that everything is as it should be right now.

Ladyinpink1 · 13/05/2024 13:27

Af due tomorrow, very ready for it to arrive and start a nice fresh cycle also started the maca as I had already ordered it so will see how it goes. How is everyone else doing? x

@samilicious I'm sure that was a relief for you, glad to hear she is ok. I am still waiting on my offical test results with comments by post but was able to access my tests online and my vitamin D levels were 175 (50 is normal) and I had stopped my vitamins for the week before the tests so that nothing was being masked by anything I was taking so it likely would of been even higher. Anyways it shows the vit d is a good one so if you eant me to post the link I can. x

@HerbaceousPerennial how are you feeling today? Is your son still recovering OK? No tips, only 2 ppl replied lol x

So pleased all is well with you and your little ski baby @CluelessInLondon so lovely to get the movements now too x

HerbaceousPerennial · 13/05/2024 20:29

@Ladyinpink1 he’s doing well thanks but a few complications so trying not to stress about when they’ll see him to assess next steps. If stress is good for conception then I’ll be well away 😂 I am up and down like a yo-yo at the moment, one minute I’m feeling very optimistic and the next in the depths of despair. Just trying to ride it out still. Spoke to the PCOS clinic and they’ve given me some advice, feels a bit scary because basically they’ve said they’ll look at it but it’ll be a long wait (of course), lots of tests they need first so I need to get in to see the GP. They did mention the miscarriage clinic but they won’t take me yet as I’ve only had two. Hope AF arrives promptly tomorrow - that’s a shame about the conception thread. How are you feeling about things today?

@CluelessInLondon that’s a lovely update! So glad things are going well, it gives me so much hope to read of folk who’ve struggled getting their babies in the end.

@13lucy it’s so hard to know the ‘best’ thing to do! I know everything says you can continue running once pregnant but miscarriage makes it so nerve wracking

Ladyinpink1 · 13/05/2024 21:48

I'm sorry there were some complications, i really hope things are resolved very soon, what age is your ds?
The long wait is just not what you need, is it. I only got my tests last month after waiting since August so I know how it feels, but as you said the GP can offer some tests in the meantime which can be helpful in rulling out some things, that is when you feel up to it and get the time obviously with all you have going on.
I'm sorry things are up and down too... everything is still so fresh, do you think maybe your hormones are a bit up and down too? Have you heard of b6 BTW? I have taken it for years and I find it very good to help level hormones (I believe my dh has survived these past years only because of it 😂) and it's a natural b vitamin so safe even in pregancy etc.
Thank you, AF actually arrived this afternoon which I'm happy at. I'm ready to start bbt and crazy tracking again, probably invest in a pineapple or two as well.
Sorry I have left you alot to read i just blabbered alot and decided to become your personal GP prescribing you vitamins lol x

Right ladies, after all this running and exercise malarkey helping a few of us get BFPs, I abandoned plans of choc cake on the sofa and did half an hour on the treadmill last night to get my step count up for the day 💪🏻 also started some of the main vitamins on that list

@Ladyinpink1 that's so good that the supplement is working! Yes please let me know which it is if you don't mind. Glad AF coming has brought some relief and resetting! I'm determined to make changes this cycle to be healthier

@HerbaceousPerennial it's bloody typical isn't it, women fixing everything - even on the most basic cellular level. With your friend - Is there a safe space you can let it out? Or get a bit of distance without affecting the friendship too much? I'm off socials since feb partly for that reason and that's been helpful. Also big fan of a nice car cry on the way home from baby-centric events

@CluelessInLondon lovely to hear things are going well, where has that time gone?!

Ladyinpink1 · 14/05/2024 11:43

I'm with you on that @samilicious after my bbq food and lots of crisps and snacks over the weekend I went back on it yesterday, going to stick to it with just one treat day at the weekend 🙂
Where are you now in your cycle?
This is the vit D that I can recommend 100% works lol, think I'm def turning into a pharmacist x

@Ladyinpink1 he’s 2 and a half, honestly he’s an absolute riot a lot of the time, he dropped something earlier and just muttered ‘ruddy Nora’ to himself, I’m guessing he’s picked that up from my mum! Consultant appointment tomorrow so hopefully we’ll get some answers. I just know he’s going to lose it when they come anywhere near him so dreading that. On my appointments I’m slightly perplexed as to why the fertility clinic want to run all these tests, I’m guessing to check it is definitely the PCOS causing the miscarriages but who knows. I really just wanted to chat to the endocrinologist based on existing diagnosis but there we are! I’m booked in with a really good GP, she looked after me after I had my son, so hopefully she’ll be able to provide more useful guidance. I suspect you’re right and I’m not totally physically over the miscarriage yet, and definitely not emotionally - B6 is a good shout. I just checked my vitamins and it’s in there but might top up a bit. B vitamins in general I think are very important for conception, folic acid is a B vitamin too. You made me laugh with the pineapple, I’d forgotten about that!

@samilicious thanks, I actually had a really good day today with a mutual friend, she helped me so much to work out what to do. She had two MMC before her son so she really understands what it’s like. Everyone in the friendship group would understand if I distanced myself but I really, really don’t want to do that - I think I really need this friend who’s just had the baby and she needs me just as much right now. We’ll see how we get on! Good work on the run, I am deeply in awe. I’ve started the vitamins, plus some nutritious food and light exercise so a good beginning. But I am still deep in the carb/booze pit, one step at a time!

Ladyinpink1 · 14/05/2024 21:51

Lol @HerbaceousPerennial he really sounds like a wee cracker, it really is such a fun, although tiring age. Aww that's tough for you, he is very young and I'm sure doesn't fully understand which I can imagine makes things harder for him and you both.
I feel like they sometimes make things even more complicated don't they. I'm glad you have a good GP, hopefully she will be alot of help. Oh yes the pineapple lol, with my dc2 I had maca from af to ovulation and dark chocolate and pineapple so I'm going to give it all a go again x

Looks like I'll be joining you all again soon - had a bad scan today at what should be 7 weeks and it's basically certain I'll miscarry (exactly the same scenario as my last loss). I'm devastated 😔 have to go back in a week.

I'm so sorry lovely, how certain was the scan? Xx

moosey89 · 15/05/2024 13:56

@ThelastRolo20 from my reading on the subject last loss, more than 99% certain to end in miscarriage unfortunately and the sonographer agreed it's very unlikely to be a viable pregnancy.
