I went to reply and you were right, the thread was full so I couldnt post a link to a new thread, also, because it's a new thread it wont give me a prediction to tag when I type a name, so I have just copied and paste the names off of everyone who posted on the very last page of the thread, I hope anyone else can find it OK. Sorry, maybe there is an easier better way... if anyone else can remember extra names and spellings, please tag 🙂

Oh @HerbaceousPerennial I'm so sorry to hear that. Big hugs :( hope things are a little smoother this time. I've missed you! Just wish you were back under different circumstances ♥️

@Ladyinpink1 it's pretty warm! Windy as well which is nice. Gone a bit cooler last few days but not bad for early May. I can't call it this time, no symptoms either way. I don't feel like I've been healthy enough to catch, but we'll see. Aww no - not off the port with its fortified goodness! Deffo the M&Ms I bet. If you don't mind me asking, how do you do it internally? How far do you insert it and just straight in or touching anything?

Has anyone read It Starts with an Egg? Listening to the audiobook on holiday and it's so interesting learning the stats. 70% embryos don't make it to embed, most mcs occur because of chromosome abnormalities but most aren't picked up, we can control so much of our egg quality ourselves and it's not all predetermined. Not sure it's best as an audiobook though, lots of scientific words - keep having to rewind 😂

I hope you're having a lovely time 🥰 I haven't read the book but I've heard lots of positives about it x

samilicious · 06/05/2024 06:08

@ThelastRolo20 thank you ☺️ are you back from yours now? How was it? Where are you in your cycle?

AF came on time yesterday in full hormonal force. Back to a 26 day cycle after that shorter 23 day one last time so deffo putting that last one down to Covid. Had a big cry into a pint of wine on the all inclusive in the dark at the back of the kids club mini cinema last night listening to all these other parents becoming mates, talking about the struggle of getting their multiple kids in matching outfits and their tiny age gaps and how well they got on. I think another woman said the word 'pregnant' 70,000 times in five minutes. Felt much better after a lil cry

Going hard on egg quality after reading this book. Might also ask the gp about progesterone after reading it lengthens cycles @13lucy in the book. Also going to eat healthy and start taking way higher doses of coq10, vitamin d and b12 and swap my multi vitamin. Go hard or go home is the new approach, feel like you're back to that too with testing @Ladyinpink1 👊🏻

Oh lovely that's bloody tough, it's like when my sil, a week after my surgery said it was so time consuming sorting all the baby's clothes for charity as she no longer needed them. My heart bled 😂😂

I've started taking CoQ10 and I hear b12 is great!

I'm 9DPO and think I have a very faint line today so will see how that progresses over the week 🥰 I won't post it, as it's probably the last thing you need xx

samilicious · 06/05/2024 06:29

@ThelastRolo20 haha read the room about these clothes people!!!

Yaaaay that is such brilliant news! Fingers crossed your waiting and looking after yourself will mean a lovely healthy sticky bean this time. To get a line however faint that early is def a good sign of things to come 😊 so pleased you could catch quickly after a crap few months of other people's IRL announcements

Ladyinpink1 · 06/05/2024 07:22

Oh lovely, a little breeze is nice to cool you down in the sun 🙂 is it Wednesday you are home?
I know, your so right, must be the m and ms lol. Maybe try a little port tonight and see @samilicious
Oh no, I'm so sorry af has turned up, it's so horrible, I hope being away will help district you and take away a little bit of the sting, sending a hug, glad to hear your cycle was a good length though. I am 26 days too.
Yes, I use the thermometer vaginally, i felt a bit strange about it at first but quickly got used to it, it's much easier and definitely gives more accurate readings, if you decide to do bbt I'm happy to send you a link to my thermometer, app etc.
I have never read it bit have heard of it and Googled a list of what to take for egg quality from it, I am taking about 10 individual vitamins so when/if I ever get a bfp it should be the healthiest egg ever 🤣
Interested about the dose of coq10, dh and I both take it but I'm not quite sure which one between ubiquinol vs ubiquinone is best, if you find out, please let me know and any other tips you get please share.

Yep for sure, hard at it! I ordered maca root tablets last night to take from period to ovulation and am going to start tracking bbt again next cycle. x

Woah sorry about this essay I have left you with to read 🤣

@ThelastRolo20 oh lovely, that's wonderful news for you, the holiday did the trick in making a nice relaxed egg 🥰 🎊🎉 little rolo becoming a brother again 🐶 (it is you whose dog is called Rolo isn't it lol) x

Yes it is 😊 he'll likely pack his bags and move out when he realises! All that being said, two MMCs at 12 and 10 weeks doesn't exactly make this an anxious free journey. So very aware that it all may go wrong again, I guess only time will tell and I can't do anything about it.

Just going to keep up the running, it's what I did with my daughter and she turned out alright 😂

HerbaceousPerennial · 06/05/2024 13:33

@ThelastRolo20 eek I am cautiously excited for you! Totally relate to the nervousness - I feel like every pregnancy is a bit of a roll of the dice and we just have to see what number comes up. Statistically speaking a healthy baby should be on the cards and really really hoping that’s the case for you this time 🤞

@samilicious sorry AF arrived, really doesn’t get when she’s not welcome does she? Hopefully the holiday has been chilling your eggs out in the background. I’ve missed you too!

@Ladyinpink1 I’ve convinced myself egg quality was the issue for this latest miscarriage so also looking into all the supplements. PCOS pregnancies have a 30-50% loss rate apparently which is very demoralising so looking to do everything I can to stabilise every possible problem. DH however is nervous of me ordering stuff so agreed I’ll try and speak to the endocrinologist and see if they have any advice before I move further than standard multi-vitamins at the moment.

Thanks everyone for the welcome back. This thread is a silver lining at least! Scan today confirmed all the pregnancy tissue seems to have passed so really hoping it has and I’m going to have a ‘normal’ miscarriage experience this time rather than the absolute bloody saga it was last time. Hope you’re all having a less wet bank holiday than we are

Thank you ❤️ I can't do anything about it now anyway, it'll either be okay, or it won't. Going to try and continue on as normal as possible until a scan around 8 weeks. I must have ovulated early again this month to get a test at my estimated 9DPO, I normally get a squinter 10DPO.

I'm not going to join any pregnancy boards or other groups for a couple of weeks or so. Feels horribly like tempting fate doing it too early.

How are you doing? Xx

HerbaceousPerennial · 06/05/2024 14:12

Thanks @ThelastRolo20. I’m actually feeling weirdly positive. I have felt for a long time that my reproductive system is so unpredictable and frankly crap - never had a regular cycle, non-standard PCOS, traumatic birth with a number of complications, 3 month disaster miscarriage last time which I didn’t even spot, then another MMC - I felt like I’m not a ‘normal’ woman and it’s pretty lonely sometimes. But now, my body has just sorted this miscarriage out, by itself. I just knew what to do, when, and for once my body has worked as it should. It’s amazing to me and it’s given me a strange sort of pride and hope that things might work out in the end and I’ll get there. This may however be hormones speaking, I was sobbing into my rhubarb crumble last night so not all plain sailing!

HerbaceousPerennial · 06/05/2024 14:14

Phew sorry, that got a bit deep! Also yes I didn’t join any pregnancy threads for a long time either, I just loitered to be honest. It feels like a big leap I know. One day at a time and know that we’ll be here no matter what @ThelastRolo20

Ladyinpink1 · 06/05/2024 20:19

I'm sure he will love it 🙂 @ThelastRolo20 I can imagine how anxious it will be to get a bfp again . Good that you have already set goals for the scan etc and I am so so hopeful for you! x

That all sounds like a good plan, will you have to pay private to see the Doctor or could your GP refer you? @HerbaceousPerennial

That's good things are going smoothly this time, it's already an absolutely awful situation you are in without any added complications x

@Ladyinpink1 you know me, love an essay 😘 always try not to write them myself but end up doing! Yeah weds 😊 Definitely try the port on its own. I have a note on my phone where I'm putting together the recommendations from the book so will share them in here. I might try bbt next cycle - it's just a bit tricky because we cosleep 😅 might get a few qs. That's a lot of vits! I'll be joining you soon as I'm home 😂 the book just recommended some things not to take and maca was one of them, l-arginine too which is in my multi vit. I wish I could print screen but it's the audio version 😅 I'll go back and type out what she said

There's loads in this book about PCOS and egg quality @HerbaceousPerennial - have you read it before? Or been on the website? How are you doing? Glad all the tissue has passed ok and you don't have all that business from last time. Being positive is good - I'm a big believer in manifesting and intentions so putting the good energy out there can only be a good thing

@ThelastRolo20 haha, my dog would likely be the same 😂 used to be the head of the household bless him. Hoping this time is different for you - you waited so patiently and got those eggs all healthy ready to go

Ladyinpink1 · 07/05/2024 08:23

@samilicious it gets so easy that you don't need to even think about it, dh didn't even know I was tracking that way for ages. But you can see what works best for you. I found orally difficult as my dc would come in chatting to me and I couldn't answer for the minute or two as I had to keep my mouth closed ... felt like an eternity 😆

That would be so helpful, thank you.
Oh really do you know why not to take maca? I have ordered some for my next cycle lol. I have used it once before the cycle I concieved my dc2, just from period to ovulation.
I will be going onto cycle 10 after this one so I just feel I am desperate to try anything. x

How are you feeling today now on cd2? @samilicious x

And I hope you are still coping OK today @HerbaceousPerennial can you get long off work? x

OP posts:
samilicious · 07/05/2024 13:55

@Ladyinpink1 haha I think you're right - that way is easier - mine would be getting away too!

This is why it doesn't advise maca:
"Initial studies may suggest that maca has improved semen parameters but very little research has been done on the fertility benefits for women, apart from a few studies that it might slow fsh in post-menopausal women, but this data is inconsistent... Apart from the lack of data, the primary concern with maca is the potential for contamination with heavy metals such as arsenic, lead and cagnium... one study found the amount of these in maca was above the limit considered safe"

I know this is bad, but the author is American and the FCC will let any old tosh slide over there. I'm sure it wouldn't be allowed for sale here if it did have high levels like that. And if it's worked before, it's passed your personal study!

samilicious · 07/05/2024 14:12

On the bit about food now - feel like I'm doing a school book report, kinda love it 🤓

High doses dairy - good for conception studies show, if you don't have a known intolerance
Gluten - fine, no data to suggest otherwise, unless you have an allergy.
Sugar and carbs - very very bad in high quantities. Avoid as much as possible, but can combat with Glucose Goddess "hacks" like apple cider vinegar before meals, reordering what you eat, just swapping breakfast from cereal to protein, exercise after big glucose meal.
Fish - twice a week good, more than that doesn't have much impact - salmon and mackerel among best options
Mediterranean diet is best - lots of fish, olive oil and legumes

This is all terrible news for me as a cake-addict vegan.

purplecolouroffunk · 07/05/2024 20:32

Hi everyone. I'm back on here after posting about my MMC and D&C about 3 weeks ago. I found out at 7 weeks that nothing grew after 5 weeks, so was a really early loss. Feels like an eternity ago somehow! I hope everyone is doing okay?

We DTD for the first time yesterday. It really wasn't planned but yesterday I did have a bunch of EWCM so I'm wondering if I'm fertile just now. It's been 2 weeks since my post-D&C bleeding stopped, if I go by D&C day as CD1 then I'm CD21 today. Nothing on the OPKs yet but I was away for work the whole of last week and didn't test, so may have ovulated then.

I wasn't even planning on tracking this month to help ease my mind, but now I'm worried that if I don't track with OPKs, if I do fall again this cycle, I'd have no idea on dates as I still haven't had a period since the D&C.

So now I'm stuck in this weird place where I'm excited because I have a sneaky suspicion I'll ovulate in the next day or two and we're DTD. But I'm also terrified because I haven't had a period yet and if I do fall the dates will be all messed up / maybe it's too early and I'll have another miscarriage (which I know isn't really a thing). Gaaah.

Ladyinpink1 · 07/05/2024 21:39

Thank you so much for taking the time and typing all of that out @samilicious That's interesting, so it's better for men then it looks like? Did it say anything about Vitex (also called chasteberry) as that was my other option, I have used it previous also.

Cake addict vegan made me laugh, well I have to admit I don't eat much fish (except maybe tuna toasties which i dont think count) so will buy some salmon next time I'm at the shop. Also that's interesting about apple cider vinegar, I used to drink it in water every morning, I will restart it too. Please tell me there is a recommendation for chocolate and port 🤣 x

OP posts:
Ladyinpink1 · 07/05/2024 21:51

Hi @purplecolouroffunk welcome back, that's great you got some ewcm. And I know what you mean about being nervous about falling preg so soon but really the reason they tell you to wait mostly is for dates and also in my opinion it's better to get started asap, i'm sure it wont happen to you, but i am on cycle 9 now ttc since my last loss so i'm team "dont wait for a period" lol x

OP posts:
emmatcc1 · 07/05/2024 22:41

@purplecolouroffunk If you feel ready there’s no need to wait. Looks like you’ll ovulate soon. I also had a bunch of EWCM along with ovulation pains on the first cycle, and from what I heard it’s pretty common.

samilicious · 08/05/2024 05:15

@Ladyinpink1 it says very dark chocolate is ok after healthy meals because it doesn't spike blood sugar. For apple cider vinegar, it suggested it as a benefit only diluted and before you have a high glucose meal - so maybe before a takeaway or big dessert or sweet breakfast. Not sure if you follow glucose goddess, I followed her on my old account but off socials now. Vitex was on the avoid list too, but can't remember why. Will re-listen to that bit and post what it says

I think the avoid list is also because the other stuff mentioned has more evidence of improving chances right now

samilicious · 08/05/2024 05:23

Hey @purplecolouroffunk - I'm also team go for it with similar sentiments to Lady. I had fertile signs I ignored when I wasn't ready to try again, now on cycle 9/10 since properly trying again with no EWCM in those quantities since and regret not trying. My friend got pregnant on the next cycle after a loss and had a very healthy baby no issues, dating only tricky first few weeks until she had 12w scan
