@SnookyPook yeah I think you’re right. I try to remind him all the time that he didn’t have the physical trauma of the bleeding for 3 months and two surgeries. Doesn’t help that his boss has the exact same due date as me next month which even just thinking about triggers me, but he just doesn’t seem to understand at all. I’ve always struggled in the past with my mental health and it’s something I managed to overcome but since the miscarriage I’ve taken about 50 steps backwards and sometimes feel so alone in this house.

Keeping calm is the best thing to do, I read a quote once that said ‘today I am pregnant and everything is okay’ just keep telling yourself that in any moments of weakness, I’ll definitely be taking that with me if I ever am blessed to be pregnant again. Please don’t reply if you don’t feel like you want to, but can I ask how long it’s taken to get pregnant again? Wishing you so much luck and happiness in your journey 🌈 🤍

SnookyPook · 13/12/2023 13:44

@GeorgeR28 thank you! And that quote is a good one. It's all we can say really isn't it until we know otherwise!

I don't mind you asking at all but hope my answer doesn't worry you as I've had a particularly rough year with recurring losses that really isn't typical of most people's experience.

MMC at 11+4 in April. Period returned 5wks later and cycles normalised. Conceived again 3 cycles later but had a CP at 4+5 in early Sept. Much to my surprise I then conceived straight away with no period in-between, but it was weird from the beginning with strange HCG. Ended up with a MC at 7wks at the end of October, however it was just like a normal period. I think it was more like a weird prolonged CP as the bleeding etc were nothing like my MMC which had stopped developing at 7+5 so similar gestation in theory. Hubby and I then decided to take a break from TTC so we could relax over Christmas. Wasn't tracking or trying etc. We DTD twice, CD17 and 19. I normally ovulate around CD14 and had had a huge spot appear around then so thought we were well after fertile window. However, got my surprise BFP.

So, in terms of conceiving, we seem to have no problem with that part of the process!! It's just keeping them that's been tough. We do have one healthy DS who will be 3 in Jan. I'll be 38 in a couple of weeks so guessing my age has played a part in things.

Hopefully you will be just as quick to conceive again but have more luck with yours sticking! ❤️

@CluelessInLondon was it your first day this month using the digital one? I always get an empty circle for the first time I use it each month.

CluelessInLondon · 13/12/2023 16:22

@moosey89 I used it yesterday as well - last month it was absolutely clockwork, first day was blank, second was flashing and third was static. This time, two blank days in a row. But then I decided to do another OPK strip this afternoon and it's getting close to being positive so it's a bit surprising that the digi was blank this morning - I'm wondering if it might jump straight to peak tomorrow without getting the flashing smiley first. I'm at least getting some reassurance that it looks like I'm still going to ovulate this month even with being ill - just wish I had more energy and enthusiasm for BD'ing!

Bugdem123 · 13/12/2023 18:04

@SnookyPook definitely not 😅 but at least it's over and done with for Christmas I suppose.

@CluelessInLondon this is what happened to me using the advanced digital OPK this month. I got a blank circle jn the morning but then had EWCM so did a strip test and it was nearly positive. I then did another digital at night and I got the static smiley. I then got a positive on the strip OPK the following morning. I don't know if I maybe just surge too quickly to use the digital one? It was my first month using them so wasn't sure if I was doing it right.

I definitely relate to what you're saying about not having the faith that things are "working" in your body. I've been feeling the same way after spotting at the end of the last cycle and the early ovulation this cycle and it's so draining. I hope you're feeling well enough to DTD over the next few days 🩷

I've got a fever and a sore throat and I'm shattered but otherwise feeling okay, hopefully it passes soon. Hope everyone else is doing okay, still keeping everything crossed from some BFPs and sticky babies.

ThelastRolo20 · 13/12/2023 18:25

@Bugdem123 sorry you've tested positive for Covid - hope you aren't feeling too rotten with it x

GeorgeR28 · 13/12/2023 19:09

@SnookyPook thanks so much for answering! I know it can be so hard to talk about. I think I’m just panicked because I conceived so quickly the first time and this is cycle 3 now since my surgery. (Miscarried in June but was left with retained products till end of September). I’m really trying to relax this cycle as I know people say relaxing and letting it happen is a huge part of it but it’s so hard!
Thankyou so much ❤️ thinking of you and wishing you the best in this pregnancy! Xxx

Bugdem123 · 14/12/2023 08:57

@ThelastRolo20 thank you 🩷 definitely feeling a bit better today although sooo tired!

Tested this morning and a BFN. I'm having some cramps and my boobs feel huge which did get my hopes up a bit so I think that must be PMS symptoms. Kind of feeling okay about it being negative today- it means I don't need to try and pretend I'm drinking at the family events over Christmas and New Year (my husbands family would know immediately if I wasnt in my usual Boxing Day state 😅) and also won't have the anxiety I know I'm going to have when I do get a positive to try and manage over then too. Also gives me another month to take my extra supplements to improve my egg quality. Trying to focus on the little positives I can for now. I'm off work today so going to spend it on the couch with movies and hopefully get back to real life tomorrow.

ThelastRolo20 · 14/12/2023 09:10

@Bugdem123 so good that you're focusing on the positives. A sofa day watching Christmas films sounds like bliss. I'm working from home and the motivation has nose dived! Hoping everyone starts saying "that's a 2024 problem" soon 😂

SnookyPook · 14/12/2023 09:31

@Bugdem123 sorry it's a bf but those positives you mention are not to be underestimated! Enjoy a worry free Christmas and come at things fresh in the new year 💕 Sofa day with Christmas films sounds amazing. I love a good cheesy Christmas film 😂

@ThelastRolo20 also working from home with zero motivation! We can do this!! (Going to take the dog on a walk in a bit... Haha)

CluelessInLondon · 14/12/2023 12:06

@Bugdem123 Sorry to hear it was a BFN but glad you are feeling a bit better - and like you say, at least you can just relax and enjoy Christmas. Enjoy the sofa day, that sounds like a lovely way to spend a day off!

@ThelastRolo20 @SnookyPook Joining you in the 'WFH and totally unproductive' club today! I'm still under the weather - was feeling better yesterday so went into the office and to my team Christmas meal, but I think a full day in the office and a meal out was just a bit much and I'm suffering for it now. May just have to log off at lunchtime and take some sick time, which I probably should have done earlier in the week!

My prediction about my digital OPK was right - straight to static smiley this morning after being blank yesterday, no idea why! Did an OPK strip about half an hour ago and it was a stronger line than yesterday afternoon's but not by much, so thinking maybe I haven't quite hit peak yet.

ThelastRolo20 · 14/12/2023 12:33

@CluelessInLondon afternoon off sounds like a good plan. Strange it's gone straight to static smiley but I'm not an expert on those! Hopefully the line catches up soon and ovulation is on the way! X

SnookyPook · 14/12/2023 13:08

@CluelessInLondon aw yes take the afternoon off to recoup a bit! Especially if ovulation is nigh!! 🤞🏻😊

moosey89 · 14/12/2023 13:24

@CluelessInLondon your oestrogen must peak close to your LH peak! When I was using clearblue and also Mira (which gives you an actual numerical value for your LH) I got my peak about 36hrs after my clearblue static. And the last time I got pregnant I only DTD once and that was the evening after a static smiley the morning before (so 36hrs after the static smiley).

GeorgeR28 · 14/12/2023 18:39

Hey everyone! Just a quick one- I’ve been tracking ovulation with the clear blue advanced digital & lh strips… had the static smiley tonight and whilst my lh strips have two lines I would say they are only just positive… does this mean I’m definitely on track to ovulate? Probably sounds stupid but basically do I trust the clear blue?
thanks!

CluelessInLondon · 14/12/2023 20:17

@GeorgeR28 As I understand it, the static smiley means you should ovulate within 48 hours. So you are on track but it's worth carrying on with the strips tomorrow as well to see if you can get a more precise timing for your peak. There's no point doing another digital once you've had peak on that though, the idea is that you stop doing those once you've had the static smiley face.

GeorgeR28 · 14/12/2023 20:56

@CluelessInLondon thankyou! I take it if my tests are lighter tomorrow means my peak has probably been overnight? I did a 4 hour hold all evening I can’t face doing another one before bed 😂

CluelessInLondon · 14/12/2023 21:04

@GeorgeR28 I know that feeling! I've been trying to keep my fluid intake up because I'm under the weather and this afternoon I've been peeing every hour when I was trying to hold! 😂If the tests are lighter tomorrow I'd just take the strongest result from today as peak - it's not exact when you'll ovulate after that anyway, it's anything from 12 to about 36 hours afterwards.

GeorgeR28 · 14/12/2023 21:13

It’s so hard isn’t it! As soon as you know you need to hold and not drink much, you’re the thirstiest you could possibly be! 😂 I hope you feel better soon!
thanks so much ☺️

Ladyinpink1 · 15/12/2023 07:14

@Bugdem123 I'm really sorry about the bfn, especially after you having symptoms and I hope you got a nice chilled out movie day yesterday. I also think the same after each bfn that I have more time for my supplements to work and get a healthier egg for next time. Will you start anything new for the next cycle? x

I'm sorry you are having such a tough time @GeorgeR28 it really is alot you have been through with the 2 traumas medically and a loss on top of it. It makes the whole process more complicated, I had 2 traumas with my first loss, and I find my feelings about it are all jumbled up and confusing so I think how you feel is normal. And it's hard after a loss to imagine things working out, I think sometimes reading the statistics is encouraging, because statistically we should get pregnant very soon and have a higher chance of all being well than not x

@CluelessInLondon glad things are still going the way they should cycle wise despite being sick and I hope you feel well enough for dtd abd catching that egg x

Bugdem123 · 15/12/2023 10:16

@Ladyinpink1 thank you 🩷 I'm feeling a little at peace with it today. I think next month we're going to try not using OPKs and just DTD every second day from day 8 of my cycle. My watch tracks my BBT so I've still got that but I think for my own sanity, it'll be better if I've not got the OPKs to obsess over even if it's just for a month.

My temperature has dropped this morning so not sure what that means for my period. If it comes today this will be the shortest cycle I've ever had at 25 days. I've checked back over the last year of cycles and I did have a 27 day one last year so I'm hoping this is maybe just my body having a reset and I'll go back to my pre-loss normal. I haven't started spotting yet which I have done the last two cycles so that's a plus.

How are you feeling today?

CluelessInLondon · 15/12/2023 11:36

Thanks @Ladyinpink1 - feeling quite a bit better today after spending yesterday afternoon/evening on the sofa, and we've managed to DTD 4 times this week even with me being ill so we've given ourselves a shot! I wasn't feeling especially optimistic going into this month anyway, not sure why, so I think I'll be lot more relaxed than I was last month if it doesn't happen this time. And at least with Christmas coming up I'll be too busy in the TWW to be worrying about it!

How are you doing? What CD are you on now?

Oxalis00 · 15/12/2023 12:13

Head is spinning a bit here - 13/14DPO and I’ve started bleeding but had a positive PT. What to do? I’m waiting for a call back from GP. Worth asking for progesterone? Or is this just not a go-er…

Bugdem123 · 15/12/2023 12:31

I'm so sorry @Oxalis00 ❤️‍🩹, I can imagine how panicked you are. I would be guided by your GP, but I would definitely ask if I was in your position and I think you've done the right thing by phoning them so that it's on your notes. I'll keep everything crossed for you x

Bali200 · 15/12/2023 12:33

@Oxalis00 how heavy is the bleed? I hope the GP calls back soon and you can get some clarity, also hoping this works out for you x
