Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

Would love to hear from others!

@YellowZ
ohhhh im excited for you this tww kills me hopefully it passes for you very quickly.

YellowZ · 20/11/2023 17:23

Hey hey @Annonomous29 that's a negative. You want your test line to go super dark like this. When they get like this, it means ovulation should happen in 24-36hrs time.

@Annonomous29 also it's normal to have a very light line through your cycle except from just before you ovulate, when it should go really dark.

@YellowZ Thank you I will test 2 times a day from tomorrow I can do one around 4/4.30pm and one around 8/8.3pm.

MrsB2019x · 20/11/2023 17:41

Thanks for checking in @Annonomous29! Hope you start getting strong lines on those OPKs soon

@Loz1006 @lucie1987 So sorry to hear you’re both going through a tough time. I really hope for the best outcomes for you both 🤞

I did my first OPK today and it’s this… which is great, but I’m only CD8?! This is my first cycle pill-free so maybe my body is just getting used to it but it seems ridiculously early 🤷🏻‍♀️ gonna keep checking twice a day to see what happens with it

YellowZ · 20/11/2023 17:58

@MrsB2019x I got a peak OPK 6 days off the pill. Which I was surprised about too! Have you done another OPK since?

@YellowZ ah thank you. Yes it is a little disconcerting but I guess it is what it is. Yes I will ask at my appointment if she can clarify any of what happened and what the official diagnosis on my notes is. I didn't have any spotting or bleeding throughout 7 weeks, and no pains etc. my HCG rose very slowly initially took 8 days to double first week! Then weirdly doubled twice the next 5 days which stumped them a little, then plateaued again (rose by about 40 for the next 48hrs)... and then started dropping... The highest it got was still under 700 so I guess it probably never got much beyond CP status despite dragging on. When they scanned after the HCG started dropping, there was no sign of pregnancy and no signs of anything on my fallopian tubes etc, but the sonographer could see running blood on my uterine lining and was surprised I'd not had any bleeding yet. Because of that she said her best guess was early uterine loss... 🤷🏼‍♀️ Bleeding started later that day. All in all, quite confusing.

SnookyPook · 20/11/2023 19:03

@Joonbug23 so sorry to hear of your tough year and your losses. It is really helpful to be able to chat with others who've experienced similar isn't it. Here's hoping for brighter days ahead for all of us. X

YellowZ · 20/11/2023 19:13

@Joonbug23 sorry I forgot to say hi! I definitely think it's good to be open, I try to be in real life as well. I think it helps. Also you've still got plenty of time time on your side 🙂

@MrsB2019x looking good there! Wonder if it'll be up or down in the morning.

Has anyone had a change in their cycles post loss? I had a negative FRER at 10 DPO and have now been spotting very lightly since Saturday, had quite bad cramps, and my temperature has dropped so I'm sure my period is coming any minute but I never used to spot before my period, or if I did it was for a few hours rather than days. This happened last cycle too which was my first cycle post loss. I'm a bit worried my progesterone is low now.

Or has anyone spotted like this and been able to have a successful pregnancy?

Oxalis00 · 20/11/2023 21:26

@Bugdem123 I can’t offer any hope - hopefully someone else will! - but I can offer solidarity, in that I’ve been getting spotting for a couple of days before my period every cycle since hysteroscopy for RPOC, so 4 periods now I think. I’m getting progesterone checked this cycle so will report back in a couple of weeks…

Bugdem123 · 20/11/2023 21:34

@Oxalis00 thank you for the solidarity! I kind of feel like the more I google, the more I give myself to worry about so thought asking here might be a better option 😅. I've just ordered the Proov tests to see what they say for my next cycle. Part of me thinks I need to give my body time to readjust and part of me is desperate to know if there's something wrong. I hope your blood tests give you some reassurance.

Nic2908 · 20/11/2023 22:44

Evening Ladies, my thought are with the ones going through possible losses. Life sucks sometimes doesn’t it, and it is always to the kindest of people. Please let us know how you get on.

im just waiting for my period to start, then that’s cycle 1. Im stupidly nervous.

to the ones who have got positive opk but early. My first pregnancy I ovulated day 5, took my by surprise it did…. He’s now three next month.

MrsB2019x · 20/11/2023 22:58

@Nic2908 Day 5! That’s mad! Great to know it’s possible though. Hope your nerves settle soon x

Confusedddddddd · 20/11/2023 23:35

@Annonomous29 nothing from me, just about to enter fertile week - but been super ill with a cold, but hoping I feel better so we can dtd plenty.

I can't remember if I wrote this earlier but I had a couple of faint lines (the latter was darker than the first) on easy at home sticks then shortly started bleeding - I think they might have been very early chemicals rather than dodgy tests/ evap lines. I did another after the period and it was stark white - I was slightly concerned about another ectopic like others here.
I kind of hope it was a chemical, I've been really worried as I have one working ovary and one tube on opposing sides, so at least it's nice to know an egg can make it's way to the uterus.
I want to work on making my luteal phase longer - it was 12 days and recently it's been 9. I've stopped Pregnacare and gone back to seven seas as that was one thing that I changed when my luteal phase got shorter. I've also been reading about vitamin C being good for that - which might also help this bloody cold!

Have a look at vit B6. I started taking it 2 months ago, and it increased my LP from 7-8 days back up to around 10 days.

I've always had a short LP but it was consistently around 10 days previously. It shortened down to 7-8 after my second ectopic in April but since taking B6 it's come back up again. 10DPO is also spitting, period doesn't start properly until 11DPO, so hopefully it continues to stretch longer in the coming cycles.

YellowZ · 21/11/2023 13:12

How are things @Loz1006 and @lucie1987 hang in there!

@Annonomous29 how're the OPKs?

@MrsB2019x and how are your OPKs too? 🙂 yeah, CD5 sounds nuts and I think I'd be worried if it was a proper cycle...but I guess because I've just come off the pill and haven't had a period it's not really CD5, if you see what I mean? Like in theory you can ovulate as soon as you miss a few pills? I think that's what's happened.

@Confusedddddddd it blew my mind when I learned that fallopian tubes can reach over and collect the egg from the opposite ovary!
