Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

Would love to hear from others!

@jellyfish2 oh like ovulation pain? That’s a good sign!
I’m ok thanks, I had a faint positive pregnancy test the cycle straight after my MMC and just on the next cycle now gearing up for ovulation 🤞

Hey ladies 👋🏼

How are we all doing? First cycle back TTC for us after our ectopic surgery back in January... I let my body heal and had my first period last month 🙏🏼 Surprisingly my body's gone back to near enough normal 😯 I got my positive OPK on CD14... so I reckon I'm roughly 2DPO.... already itching to test 😅 Is anyone else in their 2WW!??

@jellyfish2 Hey lovely 👋🏼 I hope the surgery all went ok for you 🙏🏼 Just trying to catch up on the posts... When I had my MMC at the end of last year I had my surgery on the 10th and then got my period on the 10th of the following month... so roughly 4 weeks later! I don't think I got a negative pregnancy test until about 6 weeks though 🤔 which was weird as I had my period.... Hopefully yours arrives soon 🙏🏼 We caught again the following month which as you know from above ended in Ectopic, but it happened nice and quick 🌈 Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🏻🥰

Hi ladies. So unfortunately my pregnancy ended up with a miscarriage. I had miscarried at 8+4 but had no signs and so it was picked up at my 12 week scan. I had surgery on Monday. I’ve been referred to miscarriage clinic so it’s not looking that I can try any time soo. I’m so fed up and disheartened. How are you all?

Annonomous29 · 01/04/2024 02:27

@Nic2908
Im so sorry to hear that. Sending big hugsss… I am still ttc on my 6th cycle now Drs have had my ovulation checked which came back normal and ultrasound which showed everything was healthy they checked early as I have underactive thyroid and have been getting real bad ovulation pains so painful that i find it difficult to move/breathe so they did not want to miss anything else that maybe going on. This is a really draining process…My heart goes out to you…

Bumblesbee84 · 01/04/2024 15:03

@Nic2908 I'm so sorry you've had to go through this. That's heartbreaking. I hope you're recovering OK from your surgery. I also hope you're not having to wait too long until you get seen by the the recurrent clinic and that they're able to give you some answers. Sending MN handhold xx

@Nic2908 How are you doing? I'm was so sorry to read the terrible news, everything had seemed to be going so well for you.

jellyfish2 · 11/04/2024 14:07

@Nic2908 I'm so sorry you've had to go through this, especially after having your early scan. How are you doing?

MrsB2019x · 14/04/2024 20:25

How are you doing @Nic2908? I’m heading in for surgery on Friday because they have found 23mm of retained products since the MMC 7 weeks ago. Was the op okay?

Nic2908 · 14/04/2024 22:04

@MrsB2019x oh my I’m so sorry that you went through all of that and started to try and process it physically and emotionally. Have you been bleeding the whole time? I’m due to take my 3 week pregnancy test tomorrow. I don’t think I’ve ever not wanted to or been less excited to take one. I’m scared it’s all going to hit me tomorrow.

in terms of the surgery it was ok you know. Sad but ok. I was petrified and voulnerable and I made sure they knew that and they took incredible care of me. Afterwards they wouldn’t even except if I had a pain score of one, they wanted me to be physically pain free and they reminded me they had a bag of tools to do it and to not be a hero. I wasn’t supposed to be a hero in that situation… I was supposed to have the pain relief. I was in actually theatre for about an hour. Discharged about three hours after. Once at home I ached more than o expected but kept on top of paracetamol and brufen and hot water bottles. I had minimal bleeding and all was fine. I was shocked by how fatigued the general anaesthetic left me for two days.

honestly, after birthing my baby at 16 weeks , I hope I never had to again but I would chose the surgical option every time. So please I hope that will provide you with even a little bit of reassurance.

@jellyfish2 i am so sorry I have only just seen this. I’m doing ok, we’re waiting until the recurrent clinic can see and test which means will be about 5 months before we can try again. But I’m ok with that (I think). I’m currently reading it starts with an egg and planning to base my vitamin regime around that I think but we will see.

I’ve still got it in me to keep on fighting and trying so I’m going to. Until my body and my brain align and say no.

how is everyone doing?

MrsB2019x · 16/04/2024 07:43

@Nic2908 Thank you so much that was really reassuring, I’m kinda looking forward to it tbh because it’ll be the end. I’ve been bleeding 8 weeks now and feel like I haven’t been able to get any closure.
How did you get on with your test this morning? x

YellowZ · 16/04/2024 12:32

@MrsB2019x sorry you're going through this, it sounds so stressful. Were you doing to TTC again? Or have a break? xx

MrsB2019x · 17/04/2024 19:49

@YellowZ Massively stressful! We both want to TTC again but this is just holding us back. Got another scan in the morning to check if I’ll still need surgery on Friday, I’m fairly certain I will. Hope all is well with you 💛

Gracie1825 · 19/04/2024 21:28

@Nic2908 so sorry to read the sad news... Big hugs
It's so cruel x

Nic2908 · 20/04/2024 08:00

@MrsB2019x how are you today? I hope yesterday went as well as it could do?

MrsB2019x · 21/04/2024 07:00

I’m good thank you @Nic2908, surgery went great. I’m quite tired but very minimal pain and barely any bleeding at all now. Gutted I didn’t get to have this first time round! How did you get on with your test? X

Nic2908 · 21/04/2024 07:29

@MrsB2019x tests are negative so that’s really good. I’m just waiting for my period to start, then I feel like physically it’s all done with then. I’m thinking about being referred to the Coventry clinic with prof Quenby to see if it will get me some answers any quicker. Anyone have experience of the clinic??

YellowZ · 21/04/2024 08:19

@MrsB2019x glad it went well and you're not in too much discomfort. And glad your tests are negative @Nic2908 (always feels weird writing that ...)

All OK here. 21wks now. We're having a girl ☺️so one of each. Feeling very lucky.

@Nic2908 I don’t know if you’re on Facebook or not but there is a group on there called something like Tommy’s Baby Loss Support, a lot of people talk about Prof Quenby on there

That’s lovely @YellowZ congratulations 🩷

jellyfish2 · 21/04/2024 12:09

@YellowZ congratulations, how lovely having one of each 🩷

Hey! Doing good here thanks. Currently 20 weeks pregnant with a baby girl, due in February 🩷 got my 20 week scan on 21st Oct. The anxiety has hit pretty hard so I’m hoping I can relax a bit after the scan.

How are you doing? X

CatCaretaker · 13/10/2024 08:09

Hello, also doing well, 28 weeks with baby girl, due December 30th 😊. Starting to buy baby things, and it's getting increasingly real.

MrsB2019x · 13/10/2024 08:57

Congratulations @CatCaretaker! 🩷
