TTC after early miscarriage

Morning!
So I sadly suffered an early miscarriage at 5w just over a fortnight ago.

We have 3 children already (6,4 and 19m) and I'm 40, hubby 47.

Lovely staff at EPU said crack on again as soon as I'm ready- and not to worry about having a period first.

I've always had pretty irregular cycles anyway and have never tracked ovulation (we have been very lucky and fallen pregnant super easily- and this was my first MC).

I think I have just ovulated (Sunday) which was 14 days since spotting (main bleed from miscarriage was Tues 11, Weds 12 Oct).

My symptoms were bloating on Fri and Saturday, and real drop in mood over the weekend (I've noticed this has happened a few times a couple of weeks before period since cycles started after DD was born), by yesterday my mood was much more stable again. On Sunday I had mild nausea and very mild cramping (more like little twinges).
We DTD Sunday night.

So have fingers crossed that something might have happened!

I noticed yesterday evening and today I'm peeing more than usual but apparently that can be a sign of ovulation too.

I'm going to be a crazy lady symptom
spotting for a fortnight now! Have a cervical screening booked for a week today (wondering if I should cancel it?!)

What's the earliest anyone has had symptoms after DTD that turned out to be early pregnancy? And how many DPO have you got a positive?

Oh @Cat2022 so sorry to see you here! Sounds like you've had a rough time, look after yourself.

I am 10DPO so we are almost in sync with our timings. I was so hoping for a BFP before hubby leaves tomorrow morning- had a negative yesterday and didn't bother today.

Sending lots of love xxx

Oh no I'm sorry @Cat2022 I was really hoping I was the last to drop out of that Facebook group! It felt like a lot of ladies did so cruel. I don't think I'll be joining any again until I'm 3 months along i just got too excited. I didn't join my one with my son until I hit the second trimester and we are still all in a WhatsApp group regularly chatting which is lovely so I do really like being part of them. Hope you don't have too long until your next positive!

Vic231 · 12/11/2023 11:01

Hello to those who have (sadly) joined us. A magnificent tree @RaisingCornishWildlings - what a beauty! And a lovely thing to do before your husband goes away, I'll be thinking of you!

Weird goings on for me yesterday. Went Christmas shopping and after some Lunch developed some low down cramping, (TMI!) but couldn't decide if it was the toilet I needed so went and it eased and then it happened again. It then became this continual low lying cramping spread from hip to hip and now I have it again with a bit in my back (but definitely don't need the toilet!). Also feels very 'heavy' in there 🤷🏻‍♀️ Never had this before in any of my pregnancies, or before AF so who knows! Wondering if it is AF related and my bodies just decided to try something new 😂

Claudiasaz · 12/11/2023 11:12

@Cat2022 sorry for your loss! It sucks!

I thought I'd finished my period but had more bleeding today. So the last two cycles since MMC were 5 day periods and 23/24 day cycle. This one is looking to be a normal pre mc one. Don't know what that means for ovulation etc guess I'll have to wait and see like this whole process so far 😭🤣 find this the hardest part not knowing what my body is doing when I've been the same for years! I'm also away with work next week so don't even know now if I'll miss ovulation but unfortunately nothing I can do. Would just be nice to know what is normal these days 😂

Claudiasaz · 12/11/2023 11:14

@mumsince2021 oh gosh that's awful. So sad. I know a few people who have MC this year. Don't know if there's been more or if I just wasn't as aware before. Equally awful either way.

@RaisingCornishWildlings I can't offer any words of wisdom but thinking of you with hubby going away!

Cat2022 · 12/11/2023 15:38

I am trying very hard not to symptom spot but it’s hard. When I fell pregnant with my little girl we found out so early that we told most of our family and close friends by about 8 weeks. When it happens again I think I want to keep it quiet as the heartbreak was too much this time but it’s nice to have some people who understand.

ThelastRolo20 · 12/11/2023 16:22

Hi @Cat2022 sorry to see you here. I'm the same, we told lots of people quite early. I probably won't next time, just a select few x

ThelastRolo20 · 12/11/2023 16:22

@Vic231 that does sound odd! Where in your cycle are you at the moment?

Holly0609 · 12/11/2023 16:55

Hi everyone
Do you remember when you ovulated after your miscarriage?
I’m cycle day 14 today and still testing so low on ovulation strips ☹️
(I had a missed miscarriage october 9th, had medical management but 3 weeks later had to have surgical management for retained products, so counting my surgery date as cycle day 1?!)
I was praying I’d ovulate today as my husband is having knee surgery tomorrow 😭 (it’s going to be very difficult to DTD after tomorrow 🙈😭)

Claudiasaz · 12/11/2023 17:22

@Holly0609 ah no. Will be tricky I'd imagine! I ov about 2 weeks after bleeding stopped x

Vic231 · 12/11/2023 20:00

@ThelastRolo20 roughly 11DPO - AF due on Wednesday. Think I might test Tuesday morning... EPU said they would prescribe me progesterone so also wondering if I should test before but then I'd also love to just wait until AF is a week late - struggling what to do for the best - mentally and medically!

ThelastRolo20 · 12/11/2023 20:24

@Vic231 if they're offering progesterone is test on Tuesday, waiting until AF is late can be great but the earlier you know, the sooner you can start taking the tablets 😊

Let us know how you get on!

RaisingCornishWildlings · 12/11/2023 20:32

@Holly0609 cycle day 24 for me after 1st day of miscarriage but I tend to have longer cycles (35-40 days is common).

Ladies I'm 10DPO and I just went to the loo and had pink tinged CM when wiped- I've
Never had the start of AF like that so I am feeling very hopeful it's implantation! Xxx fingers crossed girls!

Cat2022 · 13/11/2023 07:16

AF arrived this morning - it’s not the same way it would normally be at the start. I’m sort of glad it’s come so now I can try and track my cycle better.

Claudiasaz · 13/11/2023 07:38

Morning ladies how is everyone?

Have a weird one if anyone can shed any light. I have some cm but very red 😵‍💫 had some blood in it last month but assumed was because of MC. It's even more bloody this time? So odd.

I also realised I'm only away one night next week if I ov later - so as long as I have a go in the morning and when I get home shouldn't hinder anything so trying (famous words) to chill out now 😂

I would recommend these clear blue four day ov tests btw as they tell you when the oestrogen rises first so it's supposed to give you a heads up a couple of days before the surge. Just have to do a test first wee of the day then once you have a flashing smile face you can test more often if you want to for the surge. 10/10 so far in terms of not stressing when I'll ov. I will definitely switch to a night test once I've had the flashing as I've caught my surges at night.

Anyway happy Monday all. Hope for some good news for some of you this week x

Vic231 · 13/11/2023 07:57

@ThelastRolo20 thank you, deep down I know that's right but ignorance is definitely bliss!

I've actually been able to distract myself pretty well this TWW so it feels like it's flown by!

Anyway, I decided to test this morning and BFN. 12DPO so not feeling hopeful but will test again tomorrow and see.

Is anyone else testing soon?

ThelastRolo20 · 13/11/2023 08:02

@Vic231 completely agree that ignorance is bliss - sorry to hear it's a negative but worth another test for sure

I think I'm around 6/7 DPO but I decided to check cervical mucus and that plus cervix all seem like it's headed to period but that's okay

miamiamia869 · 13/11/2023 08:22

@Vic231 ... sorry to hear its Bfn but still keep fingers crossed for you.

@RaisingCornishWildlings fingers crossed that is a bit if implantation

Also can anyone help me with this. It seem erratic but I guess I have been a little erratic. 1 week today since My misscarragr at 12 weeks. Baby only measuring 5 weeks. I wanted to track my hcg going down and also wanted a clear ovulation strip to be able to tell when I next ovulate. On this pic the bottom two are both this morning with the same wee sample. Pregnanxy test is almost clear of hcg now but ovulation strip so strong. Is it detecting pregnancy of ovulation. I'm so confused

TTC after early miscarriage
ThelastRolo20 · 13/11/2023 09:21

@miamiamia869 it's so hard doing both tests - I did the same but luckily (I think) my OPKs were blank whilst my HCG was high and nothing appeared until HCG was almost gone.

Given the pattern here I'd tentatively say that's a positive ovulation, you can ovulate with some HCG still in your system, but you may not know for sure. The first month of miscarriage is so confusing, I'm still waiting for my period after a 12 week miscarriage so I completely understand where you're at x

miamiamia869 · 13/11/2023 09:25

@ThelastRolo20 . It's crazy isn't it. Doing both is kind of like torturing yourself but also so impatient and desperate to get your body back to normal. I feel a million.tkmes better seeing the pregnanxy test drop. All the time you get strong positive you just feel stuck in the misscarriage don't you.

Are you, I hope it comes soon for you so you feel back to normal in your body. Thanks for your help x

Claudiasaz · 13/11/2023 10:20

@Vic231 I tested early with my second and it was negative until I actually missed my period so you never know! Hope it's the same for you x

Claudiasaz · 13/11/2023 10:21

@miamiamia869 I would recommend the clear blue ones. I bought those and cheap ones and found the cheap ones too hard to use. Clear blue it's a face or not basically! X

Vic231 · 13/11/2023 12:19

@Claudiasaz thank you, I like that optimism and that would be great! Tbf this is the earliest I've ever tested, my last loss I tested positive the day before AF was due...

RaisingCornishWildlings · 13/11/2023 12:20

I feel like I'm gonna be out this time, and will have to try again in the new year. Had more cramping this morning and just had more spotting when I wiped- first thing this morning was brownish and hardly any but a brighter pink this time just now. Trying to tell myself it's AF on her way. BFN this morning and have waved DH off on his travels.
I'll hold off testing til Thursday now, according to Flo app, that's the day before period is due- unless AF comes in the mean time of course!

Hope everyone is doing ok, it's an emotional torture isn't it? Xxx

bluebunny2 · 13/11/2023 12:37

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well. I’m so sorry for all the losses here but it is a comfort to know I’m not the only one. I would have been due in May and my sister in law has just announced her pregnancy that’s due May 22nd. I’m absolutely delighted for her as she’s been trying for a while and this is her first but also sad that we won’t be having babies at the same time. Think I’m 2dpo but don’t track ovulation and don’t think we’re in with much of a chance this month as we only Dtd once on cycle day 10. I tested early last month and had a faint positive but then bled 2 days after I was due on so not sure I’ll test early this time.
