TTC after early miscarriage

Morning!
So I sadly suffered an early miscarriage at 5w just over a fortnight ago.

We have 3 children already (6,4 and 19m) and I'm 40, hubby 47.

Lovely staff at EPU said crack on again as soon as I'm ready- and not to worry about having a period first.

I've always had pretty irregular cycles anyway and have never tracked ovulation (we have been very lucky and fallen pregnant super easily- and this was my first MC).

I think I have just ovulated (Sunday) which was 14 days since spotting (main bleed from miscarriage was Tues 11, Weds 12 Oct).

My symptoms were bloating on Fri and Saturday, and real drop in mood over the weekend (I've noticed this has happened a few times a couple of weeks before period since cycles started after DD was born), by yesterday my mood was much more stable again. On Sunday I had mild nausea and very mild cramping (more like little twinges).
We DTD Sunday night.

So have fingers crossed that something might have happened!

I noticed yesterday evening and today I'm peeing more than usual but apparently that can be a sign of ovulation too.

I'm going to be a crazy lady symptom
spotting for a fortnight now! Have a cervical screening booked for a week today (wondering if I should cancel it?!)

What's the earliest anyone has had symptoms after DTD that turned out to be early pregnancy? And how many DPO have you got a positive?

@ThelastRolo20 honestly I'd try not to worry your baby was showing a weeks growth in a week which is perfect! Hopefully the weekend goes quickly for you so you can have some reassurance. Not often you wish away a weekend for a Monday 😅

That must be tough @Holly0609 I don't think I could do that! But I suppose when it's your twin sister you are more likely to want to.

Sorry about BFN @Blueskies4 can understand sometimes it's better to just see the BFN and know rather than more days of wondering though. This will likely be me tomorrow too.

I have no idea if/when I ovulated but going by my recent cycles I think I'll be test ready by Monday. I think I'll use a cheap stick tomorrow to check though as I have a few drinks arranged for a celebration tomorrow night and best to check. Expecting a negative as always.

I hope most people's January is feeling less miserable now and we aren't far off February.

ThelastRolo20 · 19/01/2024 19:37

@Claudiasaz @mumsince2021 thanks both. Had a nice day with my daughter today and keeping busy over the weekend!

@mumsince2021 I really hope you get a positive but if not I hope you enjoy your drinks.

@Blueskies4 sorry about the BFN - but I'm glad it hasn't taken you too much by surprise this month x

Claudiasaz · 21/01/2024 08:53

We go quiet on weekends but if anyone is there.... I guess this is my peak? My app says so but I've had darker from other brands the last couple of months- feel like I'm ovulating. So my question is - is it these tests? 😂😂 Ps it is first morning's wee which I know you're not supposed to do but it works for me in the mornings, so perhaps will be darker this afternoon

Ps thinking of you @ThelastRolo20 not long to go and I genuinely have good feelings about it for you x

ThelastRolo20 · 21/01/2024 10:18

@Claudiasaz you're close! I'd say you'd peak today if that's FMU. I found the easy at home tests VERY sensitive, The green brand ones less so but I found them then easier to read because of that.

Thank you - I can't decide if I'm optimistic but my hormones are still sky high so I certainly have a chance!

Claudiasaz · 21/01/2024 10:52

@ThelastRolo20 Thank you for the expertise! I think it's these tests you know. Husband is away for a few days next week anyway so I only have a certain timeframe 😂 but figured it's good to track anyway for these 21 day bloods.

All the best for tomorrow ❤️

Cat2022 · 21/01/2024 12:27

@Claudiasaz i would treat that as the start of your rise so even if you don’t catch a darker peak on test it’s still worth going for it over the next couple days.

@ThelastRolo20 also thinking of you not long to wait now.

Claudiasaz · 21/01/2024 18:36

I think I peaked earlier. These tests suck 😂 that'll teach me to buy cheap. This is tonight's.... Looks lighter.

ThelastRolo20 · 21/01/2024 18:51

@Claudiasaz quite likely! Mine with those have a peak around midday and dip by evening. If you didn't check a few hours after the first it's likely your peak is today and you'll ovulate in the next day or so! Check tomorrow to see if it's lighter still

Claudiasaz · 21/01/2024 20:00

@ThelastRolo20 yeah I suck at these 😂 I kept forgetting to hold in my wee. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

mumsince2021 · 21/01/2024 20:05

I'm of no help @Claudiasaz just never bother with those ovulation tests 😅 yeah whiter than white BFN for me this weekend so I enjoyed a couple of drinks last night. On to February. Hope you have a good scan tomorrow @ThelastRolo20 and hope it's early on so the day isn't a drag! Hoping to hear more positive news

No other good news from anyone yet? We need another BFP from someone...

bluebunny2 · 21/01/2024 21:45

Nothing good here I’m afraid. Period started right on time this afternoon. Not a shock at all as I knew we hadn’t been able to give it our best try this month. Feeling ok though after a few down days last week.
All the best for tomorrow @ThelastRolo20 🤞

miamiamia869 · 22/01/2024 09:26

Thinking of you today @ThelastRolo20 I'm praying its good news for you. xx

ThelastRolo20 · 22/01/2024 11:12

Not good news I'm afraid. Baby pretty much stopped growing straight after the last scan. I should be near 10 weeks and they never even got to 6 - I was expecting it so I'm doing okay, just deflated.

Hopefully being booked in for surgery tomorrow then just going to look forward to the holiday in April before starting again. Two MMC in a row feels like very bad luck!

meepthebeep · 22/01/2024 11:22

I’m so so sorry @ThelastRolo20 😔💐

Cat2022 · 22/01/2024 11:23

@ThelastRolo20 I'm so sorry I hope you get some well deserved rest after your surgery and have a fantastic holiday when it comes.

Claudiasaz · 22/01/2024 11:49

@ThelastRolo20 No. I am so sorry. It is really unfair and I am truly so sorry this has happened.

You have the best outlook (as always). I hope everything goes well for you tomorrow and you can take some time for yourself.

Sending hugs and lots of love to you xx

miamiamia869 · 22/01/2024 13:37

oh I am so so sorry @ThelastRolo20 , devastated for you. So unfair you have to go through this again and open the wound again. Words cant help you i know, but sending hugs and prayers. I hope you recover well and manage to find some joy and able to look forward to your holiday. You certainly deserve a a break and nice holiday. So so sorry hope you are as okay as can be. Take good care of yourself xxxx

Blueskies4 · 22/01/2024 16:11

@ThelastRolo20 I'm so sorry lovely, was really hoping this wasn’t the case. Sending big hugs. Glad you have your holiday on the horizon to help focus on, I know how tough it is xx

bluebunny2 · 22/01/2024 17:34

So sorry @ThelastRolo20 . I had really hoped that it might be ok as you’d heard the heartbeat. Life is so cruel sometimes 😢. Glad you’ve got something nice to look forward to on the horizon. Xx

Ncl31 · 22/01/2024 19:33

@ThelastRolo20 so sorry to hear your news. I hope you can enjoy your holiday and relax before TTC again.

RaisingCornishWildlings · 22/01/2024 20:57

@ThelastRolo20 oh my goodness, this is just so unfair. There are no words, but you and your partner are in my thoughts and I hope the surgery goes as well as these things can.
The holiday is more Than deserved! I bet you can't wait for it- to just check out of real life for a bit.
Sending so so much love xxx

Thanks everyone. I've been at the hospital since 7.30, haven't had anything to eat or drink since last night and now I might not even get seen today. What a faff!
