TTC after early miscarriage

RaisingCornishWildlings · 24/10/2023 09:59

Morning!
So I sadly suffered an early miscarriage at 5w just over a fortnight ago.

We have 3 children already (6,4 and 19m) and I'm 40, hubby 47.

Lovely staff at EPU said crack on again as soon as I'm ready- and not to worry about having a period first.

I've always had pretty irregular cycles anyway and have never tracked ovulation (we have been very lucky and fallen pregnant super easily- and this was my first MC).

I think I have just ovulated (Sunday) which was 14 days since spotting (main bleed from miscarriage was Tues 11, Weds 12 Oct).

My symptoms were bloating on Fri and Saturday, and real drop in mood over the weekend (I've noticed this has happened a few times a couple of weeks before period since cycles started after DD was born), by yesterday my mood was much more stable again. On Sunday I had mild nausea and very mild cramping (more like little twinges).
We DTD Sunday night.

So have fingers crossed that something might have happened!

I noticed yesterday evening and today I'm peeing more than usual but apparently that can be a sign of ovulation too.

I'm going to be a crazy lady symptom
spotting for a fortnight now! Have a cervical screening booked for a week today (wondering if I should cancel it?!)

What's the earliest anyone has had symptoms after DTD that turned out to be early pregnancy? And how many DPO have you got a positive?

@ThelastRolo20 I’d love that to be the case for you that it’s just too early to detect, crossing my fingers until next week x

Blueskies4 · 05/01/2024 19:48

@Cat2022 i see the positive 🤩

Blueskies4 · 06/01/2024 10:35

I got a positive ovulation test yesterday at cycle day 7 so lord only knows what’s going on with my cycles…. I only started testing yesterday and up it popped!

Claudiasaz · 06/01/2024 12:55

@Blueskies4 no way? It's the randomness of it drives you mad doesn't it. I've bought some extra vitamins today to see if that helps at all. Figure it can't hurt anyway right 😂

Claudiasaz · 06/01/2024 20:30

Evening all. Can you ladies send me a link to the best o tests please? Think I'll keep tracking for now as cycles are random! And not keen to keep spending on CB! Thanks xx

RaisingCornishWildlings · 06/01/2024 21:08

@Claudiasaz I'm certainly no expert but just used internet cheapies off eBay and the Premom app which seemed to do the trick

Blueskies4 · 06/01/2024 21:08

@Claudiasaz i know right?! I nearly fell over I was like ehhhh yeah same with vitamins, never know what might just help!

mumsince2021 · 07/01/2024 19:48

@Blueskies4 welcome to the 21 day cycle club 😂 as you must be having that if you're ovulating around cycle day 7!

@Cat2022 have you tested again for a clearer result? Fingers crossed for you.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you too @ThelastRolo20 for Wednesday I did say are you sure it's not ok showing 5 weeks along 😅 hopefully it is what you think and all is ok but I understand you wouldn't want to get your hopes up too much incase it's not a good result. It will be good for you to get some clarity either way next week.

Cat2022 · 07/01/2024 19:55

@mumsince2021 i have been testing each morning, it has got a little darker but not much and I’m feeling quite crampy today so just managing my expectations. I’m only 11 dpo though so we will see. Don’t think Iv ever found out this early but my cycles have been so short recently.

I have a digital that I think il do if I make it to 15dpo.

RaisingCornishWildlings · 07/01/2024 19:56

Hope everyone has had a good weekend? Been glorious weather today and yesterday- cold and crisp and finally some much needed sunshine! Had lots of fresh air and daylight which has helped my mood no end- yesterday morning I was so ragey and sad and emotional, teary etc. but much calmer today!
Have also felt "wet" (sorry TMI) all day - like the the sensation of AF's arrival- kind like you can feel stuff coming down.
I'm damp but considering how it feels, knickers remaining remarkably unmarked!! I've literally been thinking I've come on all day!
I tested yesterday morning (BFP) and managed not to torment myself today but will see tomorrow morning I might, or try and hold off til Tuesday (assuming AF doesn't make her undesired appearance in the mean time! X

Ugh it's horrible the progression testing isn't it? Remember though it takes 48 hours typically to show much of a difference so I'd try to compare every couple of days rather than each day. Easier said than done! 🤞

mumsince2021 · 07/01/2024 20:01

@RaisingCornishWildlings did you just casually drop a BFP news post 😅 please confirm as it reads as not good news 😂

RaisingCornishWildlings · 07/01/2024 20:03

@mumsince2021 oh my god my stupid typing skills !! No!!! Sadly not. Very much a BFN yesterday and feeling very much like I'm about to bleed!! But this glimmer of crossed fingers that I might have better news in a day or two!

OP posts:
mumsince2021 · 07/01/2024 20:05

Ahh let's hope you typed it as it's actually going to be true in a couple of days 😅 I did wonder why you'd drop that in brackets at the end of a post like that! We need more good news so fingers crossed.

Ncl31 · 07/01/2024 20:06

@RaisingCornishWildlings sorry i missed that you got a BFP yesterday! Congratulations- I hope this is a sticky bean for you.
Ive been extremely tired today - I was out yesterday for a leaving do. Just been to the toilet and had a fair bit of EWCM. Ordinarily I wouldn’t even contemplate BDing, but I think I’m going to give it a go because of the mucous and that they suggest you’re more fertile in the 3 months following a loss.

RaisingCornishWildlings · 07/01/2024 20:09

Sorry for confusing you 😂😂 what a prat! It's been a busy day so I'll blame a tired brain!

The glimmer of hope is a small flame, flickering like the dying moments of a candle at the end of the wick... things like the refluxy feeling like a ball at the back of my throat has come back (sometimes I feel nauseous before AF but this is slightly different), plus a random (short lived kind of itchy prickling sensation in nipples for like 5 mins this evening, and lower back is achy as well as the dull period-esque cramps.

A few days and I should know either way. I am just the most impatient person on this earth 😂😂

OP posts:
Claudiasaz · 07/01/2024 20:50

@Ncl31 I don't think that's true about being more fertile going by us lot 😂😂 my fertility has got worse tbh 😂😂 but absolutely go for it with the egg whites!

Omg @RaisingCornishWildlings I've been on a rollercoaster reading these posts. Haha. You're not the most impatient person in the world. You're a woman in the tww. We are you 😂 I feel relief when the period comes because I don't have to drive myself insane anymore.

@Cat2022 to be honest I've had cramps with all 3 of my pregnancies. And period cramps not light ones. Granted the last one didn't end well but the other two are upstairs asleep. So don't fear the worst because of cramps they're pretty normal in early pregnancy I think. Everything crossed for you xx

RaisingCornishWildlings · 08/01/2024 06:42

Morning team

11DPO and another stark white pee stick. I am sick of BFN's!

Last two cycles my luteul phase was 11, and 12 days. So on that score would expect period today or tomorrow.
If still no AF by Weds I think I'll test again but gonna try to be strong and not do it tomorrow!

OP posts:
Cat2022 · 08/01/2024 07:37

I don’t feel like my tests are progressing much. I have never used these tests before though so Iv ordered another brand as the anxiety is eating me up. Bottom is 10dpo and top 12.

Claudiasaz · 08/01/2024 08:59

It does look a bit darker to me or is it my eyes? @Cat2022

@RaisingCornishWildlings does it make you feel remotely better you're not alone. I'm on cycle 4 now. Can't believe it. But it is not going to run my life this time 😂 famous last words....

RaisingCornishWildlings · 08/01/2024 09:01

There is deffo progression and remember it's still such early days. Im I think looking at the difference every 48 hrs rather than 24hrs will help- you're not even at 14dpo yet. Coming from Mrs Impatient over here bht- give it a bit of time lovely, I'm sending all the positive vibes your way.

What sensitivity are the tests?

Hubby has just given me a "stop getting worked up" chat as I'm miserable with BFN AT 11DPO but he's reminded me my period isn't here yet... though I'm sure it will be in a day or two but still holding onto a glimmer of hope!

OP posts:
RaisingCornishWildlings · 08/01/2024 09:22

Arrggghhhhh talk me down- I'm holding onto hope against hope that I might still get the result I want... I've found a new reason to feel like I might 😂

My first test with a positive back in sept was an internet cheapie but ultra sensitive 10mIU.... and it was a pretty faint line than first day.

The sensitivity of the strips I'm using at the moment are 25... so IF my levels of HcG are only just rising, it wouldn't get show up?!

I know it's clutching at straws in some sense- but I am only 11DPO...

I need to STOP BLOODY OBSESSING 😭😭😭

OP posts:
RaisingCornishWildlings · 08/01/2024 09:27

Ok scrap all that. The internet cheapies were t those ones- I always tested with 25mIU in sept 😭😭😭

OP posts:
Blueskies4 · 08/01/2024 09:45

Ah ladies it’s such a rollercoaster isn’t it…

11DPO is still super early and all pregnancies are different/progress differently don’t they. I’ve tested positive at various stages with all of mine (as early as 11DPO but as late as 16 with my daughter).

I had bleeding last night after DTD… livid! I had a positive ovulation test Friday so what the hell is that about!

Does anyone track basal temp? I’ve started trying this month but my thermometer only arrived Friday so perhaps a bit late for this cycle!

Cat2022 · 08/01/2024 10:03

@Claudiasaz @RaisingCornishWildlings you are both right I think I’m just working myself up as it all still feels raw from the MC. I just checked the reviews on the tests and a lot of people said they were faint so I will wait a couple more days and do a digital then hopefully leave it at that.

My cramps are still there and were worse overnight which I know can be normal as I said I think I have a bit of trauma from the MC and I felt really left in limbo by the EPU I attended (I was away visiting family at the time so not my local) so it’s all messing with my head.

@RaisingCornishWildlings definitely still early, I didn’t test positive with my daughter until CD16 and it turned out I’d ovulated later than normal. I hope you can find something to distract yourself and my fingers are crossed that it is good news.

@Blueskies4 On the cycle I conceived last time I had spotting around ovulation. I havent temp tracked this time but I did with my daughter and it’s best starting from CD1 but you might as well start now to get used to it and fingers crossed you don’t need to.
