TTC after early miscarriage

RaisingCornishWildlings · 24/10/2023 09:59

Morning!
So I sadly suffered an early miscarriage at 5w just over a fortnight ago.

We have 3 children already (6,4 and 19m) and I'm 40, hubby 47.

Lovely staff at EPU said crack on again as soon as I'm ready- and not to worry about having a period first.

I've always had pretty irregular cycles anyway and have never tracked ovulation (we have been very lucky and fallen pregnant super easily- and this was my first MC).

I think I have just ovulated (Sunday) which was 14 days since spotting (main bleed from miscarriage was Tues 11, Weds 12 Oct).

My symptoms were bloating on Fri and Saturday, and real drop in mood over the weekend (I've noticed this has happened a few times a couple of weeks before period since cycles started after DD was born), by yesterday my mood was much more stable again. On Sunday I had mild nausea and very mild cramping (more like little twinges).
We DTD Sunday night.

So have fingers crossed that something might have happened!

I noticed yesterday evening and today I'm peeing more than usual but apparently that can be a sign of ovulation too.

I'm going to be a crazy lady symptom
spotting for a fortnight now! Have a cervical screening booked for a week today (wondering if I should cancel it?!)

What's the earliest anyone has had symptoms after DTD that turned out to be early pregnancy? And how many DPO have you got a positive?

Merry Christmas everyone! @Holly0609 hoping the TWW flies by for you 😁

Holly0609 · 27/12/2023 12:53

Thank you @ThelastRolo20 💕
I’m an idiot though I’m only 8DPO but did a test this morning and big fat negative 😂. I don’t know why I did it… going to try hang on until Friday before I do any more!

How are you doing?

ThelastRolo20 · 27/12/2023 13:07

@Holly0609 it's so tempting when the tests are just staring at you 😂 are you going to test everyday now?

I'm doing okay I think! Sore boobs, headaches and weird dreams. Otherwise no symptoms and I'm 6 weeks today. 3 weeks on Saturday we're going for an early scan. Feels like a lifetime away, debating whether to go for one before then just to make sure everything is as it should be - I'm finding it hard to actually believe I'm pregnant to be honest!

RaisingCornishWildlings · 27/12/2023 13:14

Morning ladies, hope you've all had lovely Christmases so far!

We are heading up to Cardiff today (via a few stressful hours with my mum- give me strength!).

So I did an OV test this AM and I'm surging 🤩 gonna have to DTD v v quietly over the next few days at in laws 😂 might be conceiving no4 on No1's bday with any luck!

@RaisingCornishWildlings sending strength for coping with your mum! Hopefully that part of your day is now over. Good luck sneaking around like a pair of teenagers at the in laws ;)

Vic231 · 27/12/2023 16:21

Roughly 10DPO and a BFN for me this morning. Don't feel too positive now but I guess could still be too early?

@RaisingCornishWildlings that's exciting 😂 good luck 🤞🏼

ThelastRolo20 · 27/12/2023 16:35

@Vic231 it definitely could be too early! Lots of people won't test positive at 10DPO x

miamiamia869 · 27/12/2023 17:25

Hi all. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and still enjoying the inbetween festivities. I was wandering whats everyone's view on starting new workout regime. Gym/swim/sauna while ttc. I am thinking of joining Jan. I wanted too before I fell pregnant but when I did I didn't want to risk anything with new exersise. I lost the baby anyway so it didn't do me no good being extra careful. I really want to get into a healthy lifestyle and focus on me and health to keep my mind focused and my body healthy. I'm really unhealthy atm and would do me good but again worry about everything and feel like i put my entire life on hold while ttc.

Cat2022 · 27/12/2023 17:45

@miamiamia869 I have been trying to be healthier since my MC but fell off a bit in December so starting again tomorrow. I’m going to join the gym in Jan as I figured it won’t do any harm if I do end up pregnant and I regret not working out during my last pregnancy. In the time I was focussing on my nutrition I felt physically and mentally better off so excited to start again so I would say go for it you can always start slowly and remember it’s not all or nothing x

Blueskies4 · 28/12/2023 17:06

@miamiamia869 I’d go for it, focusing on yourself and overall health can only bring about positives in my view. I’d just keep an eye out for BFPs with the sauna xx

Blueskies4 · 28/12/2023 17:07

@miamiamia869 ps going to personally focus on myself more with a few new fitness things in the new year too x

RaisingCornishWildlings · 28/12/2023 20:02

@miamiamia869 I'd absolutely focus on health and wellness. It's so good for mental health too. Just take it steadily and don't go hell for leather! I've been working out 2x per week at a CrossFit-style class for the last 10'months and plan to continue it into next year and hopefully into a pregnancy!!

So on that score, pretty sure I'll be ovulating around now as yesterday morning seemed to be my peak (this morning the test line was only marginally darker than the control and this evening control line much darker).. but CM still egg whites and I don't really feel like I've had any symptoms/ but last two cycles I've deffo been aware of ovulation sensations- mild cramping and nausea. So I feel like am I even chuffing well dropping an egg?! So frustrating all the not knowing but all we can do is DTD and hope for the best! X

@Blueskies4 and @Cat2022 yeah I think you are right. People who have never lost or had fertility problems go about doing normal life things while ttc we are just extra cautious because of our experiences. Let's do this focus on us and health. It's good for the mind and the body also and like you say doesn't have to be crazy mad and no saunas if a bfp did arrive. I'd probably lean more cardio and swim anyway as weights are not really my thing. Happy new year girls let's get nice and healthy xxx

mumsince2021 · 29/12/2023 00:21

Absolutely agree with going for it with a health kick. As long as it's no sudden extremely intense exercise you'll be fine! I'm going to use a cheap test tomorrow as I assume I'll be around 11 DPO and want to check before I touch any weekend drinks. I only have 1 or 2 at weekends these days if I do drink on a weekend so not really a concern anyway but better check. As always not feeling like it's going to be a positive and even if it was I'll still not be convinced 🤦‍♀️ will update as usual tomorrow. I hope everyone managed to enjoy Christmas time and everyone keep your hopes up for 2024!

mumsince2021 · 29/12/2023 00:51

Right I just had visible spotting at the loo at cycle day 18... surely I'm not having another period after just 18 days? Starting to worry my cycles are massively screwed up now after my last cycle was only 21 days 😬 well I'm out anyway so definitely on to 2024 for me. Fingers crossed for anyone still to test in the coming days/week

ThelastRolo20 · 29/12/2023 07:18

@mumsince2021 really hoping it's not AF arriving at day 18! If it is maybe ask your GP to get your progesterone tested? 😞 Sorry to hear you're out this month (assuming you did a test at midnight?) But I have everything crossed that 2024 will be your year x

Holly0609 · 29/12/2023 07:23

Hi everyone.
10DPO today and BFN 💔
feeling really negative now, because I had a strong positive when I tested 10DPO before my miscarriage ☹️
I know there’s still hope, but feeling really negative!

Hope everyone’s doing okay x

ThelastRolo20 · 29/12/2023 08:49

@Holly0609 I'm so sorry, it's such a deflating feeling seeing a negative 💔 it'll still be worth testing in a couple of days of course x

mumsince2021 · 29/12/2023 09:55

Aww sorry @Holly0609 was hoping someone else would have some luck after my chance was gone last night. It's negative for me today and light bleeding. I just wonder if I even ovulated having a cycle of 18 days... if I have another short cycle should I speak to the GP I wonder? I have felt quite stressed all of December and I know stress can mess with cycles but I never have cycles this short so it's bizarre

Cat2022 · 29/12/2023 11:39

@Holly0609 @mumsince2021 sorry about the BFN’s it’s such a hard mental load ttc. My cycle seems different too I didn’t ovulate until CD18/19 and my cycles have only been 25/6 days long since the MC so not sure il be in with a proper chance with a short luteal phase but all I can do is wait and see.

mumsince2021 · 29/12/2023 16:43

I'm actually just spotting as I've had no other blood today just a hint of brown blood on a liner so I probably shouldn't class cycle day 18 as AF after all? Might be a few days of spotting before it ramps up. My test yesterday was negative anyway so can't be anything else 😅 what a headache this all is!

ThelastRolo20 · 29/12/2023 17:47

@mumsince2021 god our bodies can be so bloody frustrating! Only thing could be implantation bleeding? I think it needs a couple days after to show positive! Hopefully you get a clearer answer in the next few days ❤️

mumsince2021 · 29/12/2023 18:45

@ThelastRolo20 yeah the whole chance of implantation is giving me a tiny bit of hope 😅 but I never had implantation bleeding with any pregnancy before so seems unlikely for me. It is strange the spotting today is brown as AF spotting for me has always been pink or red straight away. I'll do another cheap test tomorrow morning to check unless AF properly kicks in tonight.

Blueskies4 · 30/12/2023 08:41

@Holly0609 I’m sorry you’ve got a negative, it’s so disheartening 🥺 hoping the test is just slightly too early 🤞🏻

@mumsince2021 I’d be tempted to see the GP and get the ball rolling.. and then if your cycles return to normal in the meantime great! I left it 5 months with abnormal cycles and the gynaecologist has put me on progesterone.. now I’m annoyed with myself I left it so long.!

Holly0609 · 30/12/2023 08:53

Hi everyone.
11DPO
What are the chances of these both being evap lines? ☹️
they are so faint
the 1st response test I’m sure I can see in person the faintest bit of pink but I’m just really not sure and don’t want to get my hopes up because of false negatives 😔
