TTC after early miscarriage

RaisingCornishWildlings · 24/10/2023 09:59

Morning!
So I sadly suffered an early miscarriage at 5w just over a fortnight ago.

We have 3 children already (6,4 and 19m) and I'm 40, hubby 47.

Lovely staff at EPU said crack on again as soon as I'm ready- and not to worry about having a period first.

I've always had pretty irregular cycles anyway and have never tracked ovulation (we have been very lucky and fallen pregnant super easily- and this was my first MC).

I think I have just ovulated (Sunday) which was 14 days since spotting (main bleed from miscarriage was Tues 11, Weds 12 Oct).

My symptoms were bloating on Fri and Saturday, and real drop in mood over the weekend (I've noticed this has happened a few times a couple of weeks before period since cycles started after DD was born), by yesterday my mood was much more stable again. On Sunday I had mild nausea and very mild cramping (more like little twinges).
We DTD Sunday night.

So have fingers crossed that something might have happened!

I noticed yesterday evening and today I'm peeing more than usual but apparently that can be a sign of ovulation too.

I'm going to be a crazy lady symptom
spotting for a fortnight now! Have a cervical screening booked for a week today (wondering if I should cancel it?!)

What's the earliest anyone has had symptoms after DTD that turned out to be early pregnancy? And how many DPO have you got a positive?

So if going by how my cycles have been since mc I'm due on today. Obviously thanks to the ov test flashing smiley's mishap I have no idea when I ov although I had all the signs early last week. No period today. Negative test though. Is this just another cycle change to enjoy? 😭 Feeling extremely fed up with it all today! Hope everyone else is doing better?

Blueskies4 · 28/11/2023 12:48

@Claudiasaz ah it’s rubbish isn’t it - if it makes you feel even just the slightest bit better I had a really rubbish cycle last month and felt super bummed out in the few days leading up to my period. It’s tough enough to without hormones!

RaisingCornishWildlings · 28/11/2023 12:55

Oh @Claudiasaz , bless you. It's
So tough and so so frustrating!

I have had a couple of days of EWCM but today it seems to have gone. I think I keep feeling a hint of a sharp pain on left side. I am incredibly bloated today, and feel nauseous.

I also had the most revolting metallic taste in my mouth first thing, which seems to have eased off (a few days ago I had a very off burning/tingling sensation in my mouth/tongue which I've never before experienced!

Hubby might be back on Friday and might not... sister has just left, I'm exhausted from too many late nights staying up chatting and the house is a mess 😭😭😭

Claudiasaz · 28/11/2023 13:27

It's really weird. I had spotting or bloody cm all through my cycle. Friday sat sun cramping lots. I've had no blood in cm at all since sat I'd say. So I was fully expecting to come on over the weekend given the level of cramps but nothing. What is going on now 😭

@RaisingCornishWildlings hope you can tackle the house today!

@Blueskies4 oh it sucks. I feel okay just want to know where I stand as it's been the same for the last two and now appears to be changing 🤦🏼‍♀️

ThelastRolo20 · 28/11/2023 13:31

@Claudiasaz sounds like you've had off cycle but if you did ovulate early last week it'd be too soon for a pregnancy test anyway! I know it's tough but I guess all you can do is wait out the next few days xx

Claudiasaz · 28/11/2023 13:58

@ThelastRolo20 Yeah exactly wait and see! Funnnnn 😭😂

ThelastRolo20 · 28/11/2023 14:12

@Claudiasaz I know, waiting is bloody awful isn't it.

I'm no where NEAR an OPK peak so I'm just waiting for that...knowing my luck I'll never get one though so in my head I'm already just waiting for AF

Claudiasaz · 28/11/2023 14:14

@ThelastRolo20 It is! I only tested because it's come like clockwork the last two cycles.

That's equally frustrating! And tiring to keep going with the signs whilst waiting for the peak 😂

Cat2022 · 28/11/2023 14:51

My OPK today looked very close to a peak and based on all other signs I’m thinking it must be happening. Feel really nervous for the TWW this month for some reason which I know is silly.

ThelastRolo20 · 28/11/2023 15:14

@Cat2022 that's exciting! Glad you've got your peak and fingers crossed for you this month. I've had more EWCM today so I'm still hoping I get a peak soon but the tests are so blank it's ridiculous.

Cat2022 · 28/11/2023 16:43

@ThelastRolo20 mine was like that right up to today and the ewcm started yesterday I think so fingers crossed yours happens soon! Which app do you use?

ThelastRolo20 · 28/11/2023 16:47

@Cat2022 i use premom but cheap sticks. I've had EWCM on and off for about the days but my period did last longer due to miscarriage. I think my body is just a bit behind but it's trying! It'll suddenly pop up I'm sure 🥴

RaisingCornishWildlings · 28/11/2023 19:39

So I think I'll be ovulating in a couple of days! I just did a test and it looks promising. I just need to not pop the egg til Friday when hubby is home 😂😂 I think I'll miss this cycle with him being away

.... and if it doesn't happen this side of Christmas actually I think it would be better as I'd rather not have an august baby- a newborn with trying to entertain 3 kids off school for summer isn't ideal!
But don't want to skip it and not even try as I feel I need to take every chance I can get with age and husband's work schedule to contend with

Claudiasaz · 28/11/2023 20:29

@RaisingCornishWildlings I just lol at this 😂 this will be your month now you've said that haha

RaisingCornishWildlings · 28/11/2023 20:51

@Claudiasaz there's hope... counting 38 weeks from assumed ovulation would be 23 ish Aug. If I went a week overdue then that's only a few days/week to content with at the wind- down end of the holidays.... not that I'm getting ahead of myself 😂
Equally, lumbering about with a huge bump in the august heat wouldn't be much fun- I think I'd spend most of it in the sea 😂😂😂

@RaisingCornishWildlings your definitely reminding me of my thinking when I was trying for my son. Got to March 2021 and thought nope don't fancy a Christmas or new year baby and boom that was our month 😅 but I happily took it as with 16 months TTC and 2 losses it was a dream to just finally have a successful pregnancy. His birthday is still not ideal (27th Dec) 🤦‍♀️

I've DTD for the first time this cycle so I'm now in with a chance. Again given I ovulate around CD9-CD10 typically I don't have a good amount of time to get it in. This was CD8 so time is almost up already! Will try tomorrow and/or Thursday but still trying to keep realistic in that it's unlikely to happen again for us this soon.

mumsince2021 · 29/11/2023 00:34

you're*

Claudiasaz · 29/11/2023 08:14

@mumsince2021 Ah I have a Christmas baby too and a January baby 😂 I've never thought about timing honestly. People often say to me you didn't plan that well. I say well it happens when it happens!

I do love your positivity @RaisingCornishWildlings don't change it because it's great and we need it ❤️

I am still waiting for a period or not. Doesn't help I don't know when I oved. But when conceiving my two I never tracked it so it's the same I guess. It just feels so much worse after a loss, as you all understand!

Any peak yet? @ThelastRolo20

ThelastRolo20 · 29/11/2023 08:52

@Claudiasaz so difficult when you don't know when you ovulated but certainly seems to have been late either way! Fingers and toes crossed for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I think my peak is on the way today! Bottom two tests just 1.5 hours apart this morning and last time my peak was with midday wee. Luckily both my and my husband are home today so that's our lunchtime sorted 😂

ThelastRolo20 · 29/11/2023 09:21

@mumsince2021 good luck this cycle - looks like we'll be in the TWW together if you peak in the next couple of days x

RaisingCornishWildlings · 29/11/2023 12:24

Hahah have fun today @ThelastRolo20

@Claudiasaz my brain does tend to run away and get ahead but it's just the way I'm wired hahah! I like to know all possible outcomes and work through them!

@mumsince2021 my firstborn is 29 Dec- he was entirely unplanned (decided on our wedding venue the day we found out I was pregnant!), and was 2 weeks early as well! I think he quite likes being a Christmas baby (we have one Christmas tree which we call his birthday tree for all his presents!)
The other two are March (14th and 15th- 3 years apart.... their 18/21st combined party is going to be insane 😂😂

Funnily enough my hubby is one of 3 - he's the middle and he and his sister bdays are only W days apart by 6 years, and his parents bdays are one day apart. Hubby and I bdays are 3 days apart- seems to be a family tradition!!

mumsince2021 · 29/11/2023 13:21

@ThelastRolo20 I'm sure I will ovulate in the next day or so (if I do this month) so definitely a 2WW together... hopefully one of us will have some luck 🤞 looks like a mid December test at least christmas a week later will soften the blow if it's negative.

@RaisingCornishWildlings that's interesting and glad to hear the 29th Dec birthday goes down well 👍 my birthday is also the 15th March I quite like having my birthday in spring. I actually have the same birthday as my mum 😂 what a present that must have been.

@Claudiasaz that "you didn't plan it well" comment is 100% someone who hasn't ever considered or dealt with any fertility problems 😅 I would have likely thought the same before I started TTC but quickly realised you don't get to pick a month.

RaisingCornishWildlings · 29/11/2023 17:14

I did another ov test today around lunch time and the test line is very weak so I'm guessing yesterday was the peak- so prob ov today/tomorrow. Likely will therefore miss my window as hubby due home around noon Friday but I'll jump on him none the less, just incase 😂

ThelastRolo20 · 29/11/2023 17:27

@mumsince2021 hope the peak comes soon! Agree about having Christmas to enjoy if it's not good news @RaisingCornishWildlings haha that made me chuckle, why not - you never know. Weirder things have happened when TTC! X
