Anyone trying for a 3rd child?

We've started 3 cycles ago trying for our 3rd. I'm going to be 41 soon and both me and DH feel exactly the same about this, feels like going for a 3rd is a bit insane, with all the challenges in logistics, but at the same time it feels like we both really want it ❤️ We're sort of going for a leap of faith... is anyone in the same boat?

2 years?! And there’s me moaning about 8 months 🤦🏻‍♀️

I sometimes think I should just accept what I’ve got and go back on the pill……but it’s always that pull of one final month!

@MrsPepper82 I'm so sorry 😔 I didn't realise you had a positive test... It's so common in our age 😔 we just have to accept it is likely to happen... I think I had a chemical some cycles ago, I had a longer than usual cycle, some tests that looked positive and then AF came with heavy bleeding (I had to change clothes 4 times 😖) and massive clots 🤷🏻‍♀️

I already feel better and not alone in this.
Our first took 2 years, before success an early (7weeks) MC and second one also early MC and 4 months.
After IUD removal on February we also started with fertility vitamins- DH has oxidative stress and quality issues on that side. I also take Q10 and many others for support. In late May I found out about low thyroid issues and started treatment which had to be corrected in August. So from that perspective I would not even know what to count as a try where there would be a possibility of success.

@AFeastForCrows it’s the same here - at some point it seems easier to go back to IUD with no pain, no PMS, no hopes and no future complications. But not just this month.
Here new law steps into force from 2024 - till the age of 50 women are supported to get free fertility treatments inc IVF and IUI. So before that news I had drawn the line to natural ways only, now I’m not sure anymore.
@AnaReis without even reading your post yet I already grabbed some chocolate 😂 universal cure.

And since I experience some UTI like symptoms and am still hotter than normal I wrote to my family doctor to ask for opinion and I need to take some analysis tomorrow incl blood hcg.

So I hope some explanation from those tomorrow already.

I had a tiny bit of dark spotting today and then absolutely nothing... I'm having cramps here and there... This is my body playing tricks on me 🙄 I've had cycles like these before...

Of course I caved in and tested 😅🤦🏻‍♀️ I can't just wait for AF to arrive 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm still lingering in the hope that I somehow might be pregnant... But it was stark white again... So I should wait for AF as it will eventually show up. I don't think at 13 DPO the tests would be negative if I was in fact pregnant.

I'm also in that state that I'm usually in on the few days before and the first days of my period, when I feel no energy and like I want to do absolutely nothing (maybe sleep!) and I have to pack as we fly tomorrow at 6am 🥴🫠🤦🏻‍♀️

I guess @AnaReis its possible that you ovulated later than you thought so you’re actually less than 13dpo? Or is that not possible because of what you know via temping?

I'm not sure, but it sure looks like I did ovulate on the date the app says... I don't know really... I barely saw any EWFM so I can't really tell 🤷🏻‍♀️

My temp did go back up again today... But I think it's just a question of time until AF shows up.

How is everyone today? I’m 6dpo (I think) and nothing to report. Took the cyclogest last night so hoping it might give implantation a little helping hand.

Will test on Monday so the next few days will drag. Is anyone else testing soon?

I just got my blood results back - hcg is 51.18
Other numbers seem fine even thyroid hormone almost what it should be.

@TT82 not so good as the first positive test was already on 10DPO and from that on HCG should have doubled every 48 hours so mathematically hcg 7 days later should be x 3 times higher. Even if I would have started with 10 hcg then good news would be 80.
And this night my RHR and temp dropped a bit and also all my symptoms are gone, so I’m just happy it wasn’t only in my head. At some point I thought I was delusional 😅

@MrsPepper82 oh really sorry then 😔 yes if symptoms rapidly drop not a good sign. But now you know it and can prepare for the next cycle!! With these chemicals which are very early, I always think that my head went wrong way..that's why I'm actually test even if every time I know for sure. Just like to have a proof to myself I am not imagining it 😅

So after 2 days of spotting of course AF had to show up on the day of my flight. Fortunately I have zero discomfort, no cramps or anything like that. The flight was smooth and we're back in the UK, although absolutely exhausted, since the flight was at 6am 🥴

So... Onto the next cycle!

@MrsPepper82 so this HCG value means you have your confirmation that you did have a chemical... I'm so sorry... 😔 I'm glad your body is dealing with it quickly though ❤️

So why not torture yourself some more?

Well my intention was to see how that 51 hcg measured from blood manifests itself on a test, so I would know to compare when levels have dropped and AF is her way.

Planned to take same most sensitive test but was in a hurry so only later saw level of current test being 25 instead of 10 as it was day before.
And on that 2,5 times less sensitive test, from midday urine, within 5 minutes (not 20 minutes as yesterday) appeared clear second stripe. Even DH saw and recognised it as a line.

So I instead of coupling with this loss I am still in denial or negotiating phase, because I started to google and found a chart with hcg levels indicated per DPO and now I’m back on charcoals.

It isn’t impossible to have my level at this point. LH level went up on CD 16 later in the evening, not morning and O itself could happen 36h later, soo it means today it can also be 15 DPO.
Why I was (before that) sure it is already vanishing is that with second child 15 DPO was 175. So it’s not even close to current, and as said, my symptoms milder and temp slightly dropped, but again. - just have to wait 😔

Wow what a rollercoaster @MrsPepper82! Keeping everything crossed for you. Even when you know when you ovulated there must be some variability with implantation etc that might account for hcg differences?

Im feeling a bit deflated as feel totally normal today 🤣

@MrsPepper82 oh don't torture yourself with these type of tests. Maybe get a digital one, and book 6w scan. And just see if BBT drops/AF arrives...

I'm CD22 today, maybe 6/7DPO 🤷🏻‍♀️ and I've started with a dull, crampy ache the last couple of hours 🙃 now my head is racing and thinking implantation maybe? Who knows. Will probably test tomorrow 😆

I've been following this thread everyday reading everyone's updates.

I took two cheap tests this morning and got very faint lines. So took this clearblue and the line, although faint, came up straight away.

I'm 8 days late for my period according to the app, but I've only had one period since giving birth so I have no idea when I ovulated. Maybe I ovulated late idk. I will take another test in the morning.

Oh congratulations!! You're the living proof that we can absolutely get pregnant without obsessively testing and monitoring 😅

I just realised that if I get pregnant again I'll have at least 4,5y gap from my youngest and an 8yo 9 months gap from my eldest... It's a lot..... I wish I'd started sooner having kids in general and that I started a bit sooner trying for kid #3 🙄
