Anyone trying for a 3rd child?

We've started 3 cycles ago trying for our 3rd. I'm going to be 41 soon and both me and DH feel exactly the same about this, feels like going for a 3rd is a bit insane, with all the challenges in logistics, but at the same time it feels like we both really want it ❤️ We're sort of going for a leap of faith... is anyone in the same boat?

I’m trying to do the same. I’m slightly younger at 38 but DH is 42 and we’re aware it might not happen for us. DH would be over the moon though and although I already have 2 I think us having one together would just be the cherry on the top of what is the most amazing relationship I’ve ever had 🥺

Looks like my peak was yesterday as OPK is lower today. We DTD yesterday but won’t have chance today as DH is away with work overnight tonight. Hopefully doing it yesterday on peak day (and the day before that!) will be enough 🤞🏻will probably squeeze one in tomorrow night once he’s back for good measure 😂

I was using Flo and Clue just as a way of tracking my periods and estimating ovulation. Now using premom as I can scan the OPKs in, not sure which other apps do the same

@AnaReis I find FF easiest to interpret for BBT. And like you, I also had old data on it from years ago. But I also used premom as was doing the same as @AFeastForCrows with the OPKs so just put my BBT in there for good measure.

I love apps 😂 Now I've had my BFP, I have multiple pregnancy apps too 🫣

I have non at all, only Fitbit, seems out of curiosity will take a look at FF 😆
is pinpointing done only based on BBT or can you add more data?

On FF you can add other data points (like OPK, CM etc) but it only plots your bbt on the chart.

Premom gives two lines, one for OPK and one for BBT

Oh I like how many factors can be shown on one chart! Fitbit stores same data but on separate sheets.

Must say, that with my previous children there were no apps like that or I just didn’t stumble across them. Now this 2ww is much more interesting 🧐 one can play scientist with numbers and charts.

@MrsPepper82 well we did take advantage of being on hols and having my in-laws with us 😅 we had some fun hols 😅 now let's see if all the DTD led us somewhere!

I tried Flo and I'm not a big fan 🤔 I think I'll stick with Fertility Friend. I might try Premom just for scientific curiosity 🤓

I must say that with my 1st we DTD every day of my fertile window. With my 2nd we just did it twice and bam! It worked!

Hi I am 43 and seriously considering trying for number 3. I lost a baby in April and decided I didn’t want to try again but now I do. My dp is 9 years younger. I suffer with anxiety and worry what having a new baby will do for my MH but the pull to have another is overwhelmingly strong. X

I'm in early testing hell. Period due on Saturday...testing every day already. Stark white BFN today. I KNOW it's too early to be positive. Clearly I want a third even more than I thought!

@Autumngirl7 Hello!! Great encouragement to see other 40+ joining us :) sorry to hear about loosing a baby. Can’t imagine what you’re going through. Even loosing only imaginary unborn after a positive test is hell.

And @eastiseastwestiswest hahaa, I here am struggling not to shop any super early ones. Only 7DPO today, so I hope to keep my cool for at least Saturday- then I’ll test because I’m going for a city break and wine will be flowing 😂

CD13 today and even if we were trying this month, I think I'd be out.

Right. I need some advice. So I’m expecting to ovulate on Saturday. DH is away Thursday-Sunday morning. (FFS!) soooo do we dtd tonight and tomorrow or just tomorrow? (To make sure his swimmers rejuvenate!) will also obvs do Sunday as well in the hope it’s not too late then.

@WhatTheEll what an unwelcome positive result :( But I was so much into hcg testing that it took some time to figure it out 😂

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow since there is this sexplan that suggests to dtd every day around O day and you are about to miss that opportunity I would have twice still, as recovery time must be enough if there is such suggestion

I am so proud of myself for being able not to test. I have one at home that should measure 7dpo result already but felt so not prepared to see only 1 line. Last cycle had all the symptoms before and test done on 9DPO showed some ghost, added photo of that one below.
this time non of those symptoms are present 😐
So already I focus on getting some pre seed or pro seed and correct OPK tests and am happy that our fertility appointment is coming next month.

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow I would do it as close to before he goes as possible and then on Sunday too. Where is he going away? Any chance of him nipping back for a quickie?! 🤣

I've tested again today (because I'm a lunatic and I want to cause myself maximum stress possible 🙃) and there is the vaguest hint of a line. It's so faint it doesn't actually show up on photos 😬. I really think trying to get pregnant doesn't sit well with my naturally anxious and slightly controlling personality 🙈

And then either I’ll ovulate earlier than Saturday in which case today will be closer or I ovulate later in which case Sunday will be in with a shot 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@eastiseastwestiswest what dpo are you? I know exactly what you mean about the anxious and controlling personality 🤣🤣🤣 I do NOT understand those people who say they are relaxed about the whole thing!

So annoying when the timing doesn't work out isn't it! Fingers crossed you will manage to catch ovulation either way though. Are you doing OPKs or anything?

I'm 10 days post ovulation today (I think). Not 100% sure as I didn't actually get a positive OPK...it was a nearly positive so I somehow missed the surge either on its way up or its way down so it's a bit of guesswork.

Also agreed- i can't believe people can be relaxed about TTC. It's ridiculous that I'm anxious about it when I've already got two too. I should be well versed in this stuff by now! I'm definitely a lot more chilled than I was with my first but I guess its all relative 🤣

It seems I have become more controlling over time.
never have i ever measured BBT nor RHR before.
but yet here I am- googling 8DPO BBT and HRH charts and hoping against all odds (got my pinkish discharge that I always get for a day or 2 at 8dpo) some miracle that can be found as a proof that all is not over for this time. My BBT is on the rise and RHR also - both correlate to normal menstrual cycle also - LH peak produced sharp drop and rise of progesterone sharp rise. Text book case. I am not looking for comfort as in it could still happen. Just that already is enough that here you are- also not taking it easily😉thank you so much for sharing this.
I tried to join my home country chat for mums (to be) over 40 and boy this was a mistake. Did not join as the only discussion was about 40 being way too old to have babies 😵

Well we dtd last night on cd12. I’ve ovulated on cd 15 or 16 consistently throughout my life as far as I know. DH is back on cd16 so there’s a chance I guess that we catch it one way or another.
