Anyone trying for a 3rd child?

We've started 3 cycles ago trying for our 3rd. I'm going to be 41 soon and both me and DH feel exactly the same about this, feels like going for a 3rd is a bit insane, with all the challenges in logistics, but at the same time it feels like we both really want it ❤️ We're sort of going for a leap of faith... is anyone in the same boat?

@AFeastForCrows i used an opk as a pregnancy test with dc1 and it did show a positive. But I’ve never tested at that stage in my cycle when not pregnant so no idea whether it can give a false negative. I’d be tempted to avoid but I know how hard that is! Fingers crossed for you though!

Im so confused right now as I’ve just been to the loo and (sorry, tmi) I’ve got quite a lot of cm. It had started to dry up/go sticky yesterday but today it is kind of watery. Not stretchy like EWCM but the kind of consistency I normally get just before it turns into EWCM. What on earth does this mean?! I’m wondering if somehow ovulation is yet to come? Though that makes little sense given my symptoms last week and cycle history, but it’s also too early to have any pregnancy symptoms.

Yes! I used them with DC2. The reason for this was two early losses, and even though my progesterone results were fine (went private a year into TTC DC2), I insisted I wanted them. I ended up seeing a consultant because I had bleeding so used them from about 8 weeks if my memory serves me right....
I've got some left too so I can always use them again. I read up on it, and too much progesterone isn't an issue, but obviously too little is, so that made my mind up for me x

Good morning! So just like I predicted my temp dropped massively, so I'm out this month 🙄 I'm not even going to bother testing...

I have never paid FF subscription as I feel its too expensive for what it is 🤷🏻‍♀️

So I'm on CD20. Haven't particularly tracked OPK this month....DTD Sat and Sun, and now I feel I'm in a limbo state of no idea of DPO 🥴🥴🥴 we weren't going to try this month but just DTD when we fancied. Think this might be worse 😂
CM is definitely post ovulation and was EWCM all last week and at the weekend

@WhatTheEll that’s good news that too much progesterone isn’t harmful. My only real concern now is that if for some reason my ovulation is delayed then it could prevent it, but I’m Cd18 now so think it’s pretty unlikely. Will keep an eye on that weird cm and probably start it tomorrow.

What day do you usually ovulate based on past cycles? It sounds like you dtd at peak time to me!

@AnaReis it sounds like you’re pretty in tune with your body and if you’re not feeling it this cycle then probably good to move on mentally and start feeling positive about next month being your month. I’m sorry - bfns are so demoralising. But you can do this 💪🏻

Yeah it's a tricky one! You could wait a bit longer and assume implantation has happened and then start 🤞🏻♥️

Well I'm only on my second cycle PP (BF for 12 months... DC2 is 13 months) so it's difficult to say. But last month I ovulated on CD21 which I've never done in my LIFE! It's always been around CD14/15 previously. So who knows at this point 😆

I might just test 10 days after we last DTD

My period came back at 13 months both times (bf dc1 to 13 months and dc2 to 18 months) and for me it seemed like it was regular immediately but I wasn’t tracking so who knows! Testing 10 days after dtd sounds like a good compromise?

I would never have done it this close after DC1, but after having DC2 and everything we've been through with DC1 I feel like I can do anything tbh 😂😂😂

Going from 0-1 was so tough, going from 1-2 easy peasy..... 2-3? Hopefully just as easy. What about you?

8/9 DPO today and stupidly did a hpt 🤦🏻‍♀️ obviously stark white because it’s too early but now in a grump - why do we do it to ourselves! 🤪

Ohhhhh @AFeastForCrows definitely too early! Wait it out and don’t be downhearted yet!

@WhatTheEll I have a 2.5 year age gap between DC1 and 2 and loved it - they play together so nicely and I feel like DC1 had a good level of independence when DC2 came along but yet they are still close in age to have a lot in common. DC2 is almost 3 now (thanks to DH taking a while to convince!) so would be approaching 4 by the time DC3 arrived and I do worry I’ve left it too late in the sense that DC1 and 3 especially will be far apart in age - over 6 years.

But in terms of my ability to cope - I feel like this would be a doddle as both older kids would be in school/nursery compared to dealing with a toddler and newborn alone over lockdown!

I'm now spotting... So onto the next cycle! 🤷🏻‍♀️

@AnaReis At least you have clarity and short cycle (has it always been so short?) so you don’t have to wait as long as those (like I) with 30 days cycle.
My temp went up a nudge to 36.81 again, RHR has plateaued for many many days now. Btw - when it first went up I thought it might be because of some virus, but I didn’t get any other symptoms.
Other preg symptoms or not having some of them I don’t really count as predictions - as mentioned before, each of my previous pregnancies has beed different and also PMS can differ.
Evening is here (in Estonia it is 9 a clock) but AF not. I will still give her mentally time to arrive - as I have had both pos and neg results, it can also delay because it was chemical and double line was not a baaaaad test after all 😐

But if no AF tomorrow then threaded test time.

@AFeastForCrows Even I am convinced that for you it is way too early 😃

My cycles when I was in my 30s were more around 28 days. Now that I'm in my 40s they're shorter. In average they're 25 days.

Nothing positive on my test, no AF, temp rising, RHR rising, but good news is I survived the negative test 😆

This time with my DC2 I alreay got clear 2 line. So I was able to make peace with 1 line. Went back 20 min later to find still some crap of a line, that did not appear 11DPO (the one with test wrap as a background). Not hoping to be pregnant but hoping to get my period but seems it will still delay due to chemical 😞

@MrsPepper82 is the second picture from today? I see the shadow of the line with colour, very very light...
do you have different type of these tests?

@TT82 ❤thank you, support is much needed and yes, the one on a 🚰 is from today and it has very visible faint line, but it’s 15 DPO already so it can’t be progressing at this point anymore, it is fading chemical :( It’s soo stressful.
That hope rising but not coming true. Don’t even know how to cope with that, I stayed down to earth most of the time but this morning still feeling grief. Last dream I woke up from was about holding a baby, not a memory, felt brand new.

I can hear my clock ticking and every delayed day is just irritating.

@MrsPepper82 you will feel better, once all hormones are down and a new cycle starts, so new hope. Just remember that these chemicals are normal at our age, that doesn't mean next one won't be a good egg! ❤️

It’s only a matter of time before it works for you. Have you been taking coq10? Helps egg quality apparently.

5dpo for me today so nothing to report! Was planning to take the cyclogest this morning but completely forgot so might do it before bed instead. Hope everyone else is ok.

I’m 9/10 DPO today and did I do another test this morning? Of course I did 🤦🏻‍♀️ nothing on there which I know means zilch

have that low down heavy feeling I get in the days before AF so I’m resigned to being out. 8 months of this crap is getting boring now!

Oh tell me that 😖 2 years in January, incl 4 chemicals and 1 egg collection cycle (none were genetically normal)... I think I need plan B to survive.. was thinking even of donor egg but my son said lets get a golden retriever. Well I want both - a baby abd a dog 🥰
