BBTing our way to a BFP in August 🎉

Hi all!
My body has begun a new cycle in its quest to torture me with cycles that are getting a day longer at a time 😅 so I thought I'd see if anyone wants to join me in BBT charting this month!

DH and I are currently TTC #1, we started in June so are on CD1 of cycle #3 now and I wanted to start doing something a bit more to track without feeling like I'm constantly peeing on some kind of stick 😂 I've previously tried charting in April and May to prevent pregnancy but I hadn't quite got the hang of it yet so the charts were a bit all over the place. My chart since restarting BBT on Sunday already seems a lot more stable than it was last time so hopefully it'll give me some more info this time!

@Myna13 I'm from Sheffield too! I moved down south about 10 years ago but I'm Yorkshire born and bred!

@CatiaR I'm on cd10 and my opk's are super low! I'm meant to ovulate tomorrow or Monday so I reckon they will just jump up all of a sudden! This is what I'm currently working with 😂😂

Sorry cd11! I usually ov on 12/13 so I'm nearly there!! X

@Hotmalibu94 I reckon so too! I've never done them before so I just assumed they would progress slowly like everyone else but it looks like I'm a jumper 😂

When would everyone say is the best time to dtd after the start of the surge? Xx

It seems like mine might be a more gradual increase but we’ll see how it goes over the next few days, still got a fair few days before fertile week even starts, ovulation is predicted on the 15th at the minute.

@CatiaR fingers crossed for you too! I'm hoping for the best this month as my bestie is having ivf this month too. Her egg collection day is my ovulation date so we will be bang on twins if we both fall this month!! 🤞🏽🥰 xx

I have no frame to compare my LH progression but I guess its going well enough for now, we shall see how my typical is soon enough 😊

@thejollytrolleydolly cant say I’m Yorkshire born and bred. I’m originally from India, but have been in Sheffield for the last 6 years. Sheffield has my heart and is my home. And hopefully my (eventual) little one(s) will be Sheffield born & bred.

loving both your OPKs. I have 1 today with a faint line but no frame of reference for it. Time will tell I guess.

I have lots of friends who have been trapped by the pull of Sheffield and now are fully fledged residents 😊 have a lovely day all, my 4am opk was a big 0 so I don't think I will ovulate today luckily as I'm flying for the next 12 hours 😵‍💫 might see if I can muster up the energy to dtd tonight just incase I ov tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath 😂 xx

Had a bit of a temp dip today which you can get with ovulation but considering the lack of cm currently I think it's probably just a random drop.

@thejollytrolleydolly oh wow long flight! Hopefully you have a couple of days before ovulation so you can be back in time 😅

Hey everyone, hope it's ok to join. I'm TTC my third. We already have a 3.5yo DD and a 1.5yo DS. I was expecting another DS at Christmas but he died at 18 weeks so back on the TTC bus I am.

I charted and OPK'd very diligently with no 1 and 2 but no 3 was a total surprise! We only dtd 4 days before I think I ovulated and I had barely had a period so I was very surprised. I feel like I'd just got my head around a surprise no 3 and then it was taken away from me and now all I can think about is TTC. My Dr advised to wait 3 months (although I think this advice is outdated...) but I'm back to charting now so I can see what my cycle is doing.

I'm ok thanks. It's sad and I wish it hadn't happened but after a week I felt quite ok physically and emotionally to just move forward. I know a lot of people hate the saying but clearly it just wasn't meant to be.

I would like to share that the first thing my Dr asked when she diagnosed the miscarriage was whether I'd had covid and I hadn't but DH had been sick with what we thought was covid right around the time the baby passed so maybe I could have had it asymptomatically and given it to the baby? I'm not the first one I have heard of this happening to either. My top priority before getting pregnant again is definitely getting a covid booster. I'm not in the UK though and they're impossible to find here at the moment.

I think I maybe ovulating sooner than usual. Im currently on CD9 but my OPKs are giving me results which I usually have around CD15. On my last cycle i got my peak at CD16 so i may well get my peak tomorrow 😱

@Huriya I'm in the same boat! Think I'm going to be ovulating earlier than expected as I now have EWCM 😂 Typical, I had a whole regime planned for fertile week and now it might be useless 😂

me and the husband drove all the way to Swansea from where we live in Newport to meet the ILs for MIL birthday lunch but they were 1:30h late!

very pissed off at them but not much I can do, they are always like this but today was extra late, but we got the puppy at home and we can only let her stay alone for 5h at a time so when we need to go we’ll go whether they like it or not!

sorry for the rant! Their time keeping riles me up like no tomorrow! 🤦‍♀️

@Hotmalibu94 We got some abby dancing in this morning and I did the OPK test later on. So glad we did now lol just incase i do ovulate earlier.

@CatiaR I 100% get where youre coming from. Yesterday I had brunch planned with my sisters. I finished work at 11.30 told them to be ready for then and wel set off. THEY WOKE UP AT 11.30! I was honestly soo pissed off.. by the time we had our brunch it was 3pm as the place was soo busy. But luckily I didnt have much planned after that, its just annoying when others dont work with a schedule or punctuality isnt jt

@Huriya yeeeesss! It annoys me to no end! The ILs are like that ALL the time 🙈

I just want to go home! I need to do my opk and hold me pee till I go home but still 1h plus of driving and we’re not leaving yet! Need to see if I can hold on otherwise will need to wait again and not drink for a good couple of hours again..

@CatiaR I hope you get your OPK in. Im going to test again around 8/9pm to see if its gone up. Might need to persuade the OH for one more round of BD before bed 🙈
I told him I might be ovulating sooner and hes saying he cant do it twice a day its too much when you have to be up at 6am 😂... just hoping i dont ovulate tomorrow so I can get enough dtd in. Right now am thinking am already out if i ovulate tomorrow 😭

And it is weird isn't it! Hoping ovulation is still a day or so away but you do get a temp dip sometimes when it happens so it could be today 😬

@Hotmalibu94 you would be driven nuts by my ILs!! Its like this all the time, but today was so late its insane. I now need to hold my pee for a few more hours and hope its not too diluted for my opks. I couldn’t wait for driving home in anothee 2hrs.

Gah, this outing definitely messed up with my opk today so I’ll check again tomorrow but my pee was too diluted after only a 2h hold but had to drink since we were still eating and I couldn’t hold it anymore at the restaurant until we made the 1:30h journey back!

I do think it would have increased again today if my urine wasn’t so clear so will ignore this one and test again tomorrow
