BBTing our way to a BFP in August 🎉

Hi all!
My body has begun a new cycle in its quest to torture me with cycles that are getting a day longer at a time 😅 so I thought I'd see if anyone wants to join me in BBT charting this month!

DH and I are currently TTC #1, we started in June so are on CD1 of cycle #3 now and I wanted to start doing something a bit more to track without feeling like I'm constantly peeing on some kind of stick 😂 I've previously tried charting in April and May to prevent pregnancy but I hadn't quite got the hang of it yet so the charts were a bit all over the place. My chart since restarting BBT on Sunday already seems a lot more stable than it was last time so hopefully it'll give me some more info this time!

This is cycle 4 ttc #1 for us. I think I'm going to have the same rules in the TWW as if I were pregnant - seems easier that way! So no alcohol, 1 cup of tea per day etc.
When do you all start using OPKs? Is it like a couple of days after your period ends, or is there a set CD? I'm so new to this side of things!

It depends when you ovulate. I usually ovulate pretty early so I'll start with OPKs day 8 or 9 of my cycle.

@Huriya off in IKEA at the minute but will be doing my first opk of the day when I get back so will update later. Temp has gone up a bit so hopefully opk a bit higher too!

@CatiaR I joke that IKEA is like Disneyland for adults 😂 have a lovely day!

Omg I'm so jealous of your lay ins today! I was up at 3:30 for work 😅 just finished and on my way to a day festival with my boyf and gbf.

I've had the most tangy metallic/battery taste in my mouth today but checked my cervix and it's really low and firm. I don't know if it drops before it goes back up? I think last month it was high until af came? I'm so confused 😂 I'm now craving IKEA meatballs and mash 😋 enjoy the rest of your day ladies!! Xx

Opks still staying low for now, will check back later in the evening again but leaving me in suspense till the last minute 😂 expecting a rise tomorrow hopefully

@CatiaR I didn't realise until seeing @thejollytrolleydolly and my own OPK how quickly it can rise and fall! Mine went from such a faint line to my peak in less than 24 hours which felt crazy!

Went for a lovely walk today, talked a lot about if/when we get pregnant 🥰

@Hotmalibu94 hoping that’s the case for me too as its still low this evening, will check again tomorrow, if ovulation indeed happens Tuesday I’d say tomorrow it would increase at some point.

Omg after days of these tests making believe todays the day and letting me down 😅 I firmly believe this is it. And partner is back tonight after being away 2 days 😂 only thing is tomorrow 2 weeks on that day when AF is due. My holiday begins for 4 days 😒 please AF don't show 🤞 😅

@thejollytrolleydolly I had a metallic taste a few DPO on my second cycle ttc, so I was convinced that cycle that I would get a bfp - sadly I didn't, but I guess it could have been a chemical as I didn't test until I should have got my period. No idea what causes it though!

I've never figured out cervix checking - tried it a few times and couldn't feel a difference so just stuck to bbt!

I normally ovulate CD15-18, although I've had a couple of months at CD13. I'm currently on CD11 (but I reckon it's more like CD1 with an adjustment for the MC), so maybe I'll start OPKs in around 10 days? So confusing 😅

@Hotmalibu94 glad you got out for your walk in the end! I had a few like that, I think it feels really nice to talk about it as a real thing that might happen soon, rather than the "one day in the future" it has always been before now 😊

hoping to join - I have been TTC #2 for 17 months now..

I was on depo after DD and came of this in July 21, took until feb 22 for my periods to resume however my cycles were all over the place along with mid cycle bleeding.

I have been obsessed with OPKs in the past and used advanced clearblue religiously every month unfortunately nothing worked. In April after being recommended by a friend I decide to purchase Ovusense and totally ditch the OPKs as they were causing me too much stress and anxiety! I found the Ovusense (although expensive) to work so much better for me and I found myself no where near as stressed! It was in my April cycle that I finally fell pregnant!

I couldn’t believe my first cycle using this had actually worked, sadly at 11 weeks I miscarried, and have began using Ovusense again I am currently CD10 and hoping for a positive month xx

I ordered Ovusense this week, last night was my first night of wearing it. Do you have the skin sensor or the vaginal?
I have PCOS which makes OPKs difficult to read and make sense of.
here’s hoping ovesense works.
I’ve just had a medium reading after loosing my grandad and she said he tells me November is a good month for me and my husband… I’m not sure I believe in those sorts of things but my friend had one after losing her grandad and found it helped so I thought I’d give it a go.

Have been TTC number 2 for couple of months after 2 years on Cerazette. Came off it in April, no period for 6 weeks & then had a 33 day cycle which is normal for me.

Was due on around 4th August, but no sign of a period so far and about 4 negative tests, so no idea what’s going on! I apparently ovulated early in my cycle so wasn’t really expecting a positive.

DS was conceived on my second cycle so this is new to me. I was on Microgynon back then, plus about 10kg lighter so not sure if that has made a difference.

had a significant drop of BBT this morning so hopefully opks will increase if still predicted to ovulate tomorrow, shall update later when i test.

definitely planning to BD at least today and tomorrow to cover my bases as its been every other day before this. Can’t wait to see that spike hopefully all goes well 😊

@pinkmarshmalloww I hope that's your peak! Your tests have been messing you around a bit 😅 are you also doing BBT? That can help to confirm date of ovulation.

@ginny93 yeah it was really lovely! We were talking about all sorts like what work pattern I would do after etc 😅
Not sure about OPKs in your situation but I guess if you ovulate in the meantime at least BBT should pick it up!

3dpo and my app has finally confirmed ovulation happened 😅 no symptoms really so far. Just backache and sore nipples which is pretty normal!

@Hotmalibu94 looks great I reckon 😊 very exciting hopefully all of you waiting will have great news in the coming weeks!

Morning, hows everyone doing?
Currently 4DPO- no symptoms at all yet but im really tempted to start testing even though Ive told myself not before 10DPO. How many DPO is everyone looking to test from?

@Huriya good morning! Its hard to wait to test always 😂

I did it too early last cycle and this time I’d like to hold on as long as possible, seeing BFNs all the time was even worse, anytime after 10dpo gives at least a bit more of a chance of catching it so would probably be wise to wait till then 😊

@Huriya my plan is to wait until the day after AF is due which is 25th August (14dpo) after the last two months of seeing negatives it was pretty demoralising. Though if I'm getting signs etc maybe I'll see about doing it this Sunday, but that's only 9dpo so probably unlikely! According to my app this month AF is predicted for the 24th at 13dpo! That would be a 28 day cycle this month.
Just feeling really hopeful that DTD as we did will have given us some good coverage 😭🤞

@WombatBombat welcome to the group! I hope your cycles fall into sync soon. Mine did go all over the place when I gained a bunch of weight.

@Huriya testing early is soo tempting! I'm going to try and wait until AF is due too @Hotmalibu94 i had a fake positive early on last month and it really got to me. So definitely going to hold off as long as I can.

Didn't end up doing my second OPK yesterday because we were at the ILs and DH decided he would like to stay the night. I didn't mind because the dogs and I love them, but it threw my BBT and OPK cycle out of whack and we didn't get to BD yesterday like planned. But heading home in time for work this morning so hopefully will be able to get two OPKs in today and some BD. Predicted O tomorrow, so hoping to see that rise soon!
