Hi all!
My body has begun a new cycle in its quest to torture me with cycles that are getting a day longer at a time 😅 so I thought I'd see if anyone wants to join me in BBT charting this month!

DH and I are currently TTC #1, we started in June so are on CD1 of cycle #3 now and I wanted to start doing something a bit more to track without feeling like I'm constantly peeing on some kind of stick 😂 I've previously tried charting in April and May to prevent pregnancy but I hadn't quite got the hang of it yet so the charts were a bit all over the place. My chart since restarting BBT on Sunday already seems a lot more stable than it was last time so hopefully it'll give me some more info this time!

Please feel free to say hi below and introduce yourselves 😊 looking for as many friends as possible in this crazy world of TTC 💕

@Myna13 if you felt comfortable posting your chart we could all take a look? I think it's hard to know until you've had one full cycle though - kinda need something to compare to!

pinkmarshmalloww · 08/08/2023 09:20

@Myna13 I reckon first test at 12pm and depending how that looks maybe another about 6pm x

Kinsters · 08/08/2023 09:37

Still waiting to O here as well. CD18 and normally it would be earlier than that but I'm sure the MC has delayed everything. I'm so glad that I have all the data from my previous MCs to compare to. After my first I ovulated on CD18 but after my second it wasn't until CD60 (but I was still breastfeeding at the time).

Does anyone else have a short luteal phase? Mine has ranged from 8 to 12 days during my TTC journey but has never seemed to affect my ability to conceive.

Myna13 · 08/08/2023 08:58

@Hotmalibu94 sounds like you're timing it really well. I think we've just decided to BD every alternate day this month and everyday during predicted ovulation time and hope that something will work out.

@pinkmarshmalloww I'm going to try and OPK around 2ish. How about you?

Not sure how to read my BBT charts. they're all over the place so far. this is my first month doing temps so not sure what they're meant to look like. Think I'm going to go down an Internet rabbit hole later this morning.

Have a lovely day ladies ❤️

Ooo yes do post it! Love looking at a chart.

We're not going to try this month so waiting until after O to DTD.

@pinkmarshmalloww hope you see what you need to see on the tests.
If you're currently ovulating, if you feel comfortable with it, can you share pictures of your lines pls? It'll just be nice to know what to expect the lines to look like at a high & peak.

Myna13 · 08/08/2023 10:19

@Kinsters I'm so sorry to hear about your MCs. I had one last year in June and I was shattered. We've only started to TTC in June after that because I just wasn't ready for it. Sending love and baby dust your way ✨

I will post updates of my lines that's fine :)

If it's any help to you I'll post my charts and lines from when I conceived last year x

@pinkmarshmalloww this is definitely really helpful! Thank you 😁

ginny93 · 08/08/2023 10:45

@Myna13 there’s quite a bit of temperature variation there, hopefully it will settle down soon!

@Kinsters so sorry to hear about your MC 💕 I just had one, but you saying you ovulated on CD18 afterwards is giving me hope!

Myna13 · 08/08/2023 10:49

@ginny93 there is! I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean. To be fair, there's been a lot of temp variation with the weather as well. Some nights have been really chilly and I've felt really warm some nights. Not sure if that has something to do with it as well.

Kinsters · 08/08/2023 10:51

Myna13 · 08/08/2023 10:16

@ginny93 @Kinsters here's my chart

Yeah that looks like you're waiting to ovulate, just keep tracking and hopefully you'll see a rise in the next week!

I mean this really nicely but the term baby dust isn't such a nice one. I know loads of people use it but we cremated our baby so I have plenty of baby dust 😅, I want the actual baby ❤️

@ginny93 yeah, first trimester miscarriage and not breastfeeding so nothing to delay it. I even had a 1-2 weeks on a digi the day that I ovulated!

Myna13 · 08/08/2023 10:57

@Kinsters thank you for being able to be open and tell me that. I never thought of the term 'baby dust' in that way. I always thought of it as magical like 'fairy dust'. Thanks for putting this into perspective for me. I'll never use it again. I'm sorry if I hurt you in any way. Sending you love, comfort and well wishes. And I hope you have a strong, healthy baby in your arms sooner rather than later ❤And thank you for being a part of this journey with me.

Huriya · 08/08/2023 11:44

Hiya everyone just caught up on all the messages from yesterday! I wasnt feeling to good last night ended up In bed at 8pm and didnt get up till 11am 🫤
@Hotmalibu94 Clomid is a fertility medicine it induces ovulation and hyper ovulation. Its my first cycle on it.

@pinkmarshmalloww Ive been doing my OPKs around 11am daily.. have i been doing them wrong? Should I start doing them around 3/4pm?

This is little group we have going on has been really good so far. Hoping we can keep it going after too 💖

Myna13 · 08/08/2023 11:47

@Huriya oh no! I hope you feel better now. It's best to listen to your body. It knows when you need a rest.
Hoping your first cycle of clomid helps and you get your BFP this month!

I don't think 11am is a bad time to do it. I read somewhere that the best time to do it is around lunch time because of how our bodies process these hormones. 11am isn't far off from lunch time. But I could be wrong. This is only my first month of doing OPKs so I'm still figuring things out myself.

pinkmarshmalloww · 08/08/2023 12:01

@Huriya I think the advice is between 12pm and 6pm because we surge overnight and it takes time to show up in urine x

Huriya · 08/08/2023 12:16

@Myna13 I agree I just seem to feel like I have alot of brain fog and hot flushes going on. Not sure whats happening with the body.

@pinkmarshmalloww Ive been testing daily around 11am and then roughly around 3.30/4pm. The afternoon results for me always seem to be lower the the morning/midday one. Both times I make sure I dont drink alot and hold pee in for 3hrs.

@CatiaR I know youre also doing OPKs. How are you getting alone?

Oh Also I think ive entered the 5 day fertile window today! I honestly cant wait for this to be over and get on with the 2ww.

Myna13 · 08/08/2023 12:18

@Huriya the brain fog and hot flushes could be your body's response to the clomid because at the end of the day, it is hormones going into your system.

thejollytrolleydolly · 08/08/2023 12:49

El Sergio has finally started! My LH has jumped up quite a lot from first thing this morning. I'll test again later on this afternoon/evening to see how dark it gets. Managed to do the tango this morning so might get another sesh in later as well and then tomorrow too and see what my tests look like. Do you know if you ovulate 12 hours from the start of your surge or the peak of your surge? Xx

ginny93 · 08/08/2023 13:14

Yay @thejollytrolleydolly ! No idea about timing I’m afraid, I’ve never done an LH test, but sounds like you’ve got it covered regardless!

Hotmalibu94 · 08/08/2023 14:35

Yaaaaay @thejollytrolleydolly I've been way too invested in your OPKs 😂 glad the surge is starting!

@Kinsters thank you for letting us know 💕 I'd never thought of it that way but it's definitely something I'll stop doing from now on! Hope you're doing ok 💕

@Myna13 your temps do look a little all over the place. I don't know if it helps at all but ive attached the relevant pages from my NC guide because I found I was probably doing it wrong previously which is why mine was erratic! So hopefully this will help you and anyone else starting to temp this month 💕

@Hotmalibu94 Thank you! I'm definitely doing it wrong. I think I have the placement of my thermometer correct, but I don't keep my mouth closed 😂And I DEFINITELY snooze a few times before I temp. I sometimes even get out of bed and go wee before I temp. I think one day I even showered before I got to temping. So that might explain the strange temps. I'll try and be better with it in the next week and see if things get less erratic.
