16 DPO, high temp, AF due tomorrow

Hi All,

Got myself in a bit if a tiz - this TWW as been awful.

Have been trying on and off for a very stressful 18 months, all without a sniff of a BFP.

But this month I have felt so different. After O (tested with CB O test and temping). Had soooo many symptoms; nausea, cramps, bad taste in mouth, headaches, creamy cm and dizziness all varying from 5DPO until today (16 DPO). As I have never normally experienced any of this during the TWW I have been convinced I would be seeing BFP soon. Temp has been measuring high (and still is today) but after getting a BFN today when I tested, im worried I've just imagined all of it. I used CB early detection and It wasn't with my first urine of the day (I was trying to hold out until Tuesday if no AF Tomorrow....I failed!).
As Im slowly driving myself mad, I was just wondering if anyone got BFN at this point and went onto the see BFP? Could it be that I didn't use first urine of the day??

Clutching at straws I guess, but there is always hope until AF arrives

I'm glad to hear you're feeling fine. If I were you I would keep taking the tests and taking photos so you can show the doctor. Ask about progesterone that you can take from the first day you get a line.

Did the frer's arrive today?

Lots of love xxxx

Elisabeth3468 · 10/01/2024 19:00

How is everyone?
Did you test again @RCARB ?
I've been feeling really sick and only fancying carbs. But I've been unwell so it could be that. Not sure when period is due as didn't track this month but some time around Monday

RCARB · 12/01/2024 08:42

@Elisabeth3468 Morning! I'm okay. Have had ood belly twinges and pains the last couple of days (10DPO onwards) and some spotting today (14DPO) but stark BFN on all E@H tests. AF is due Sunday but think just coming a little early this month - what a kn$b!!

That sounds promising dear 🤞🏻. You never know the relaxed approach could have worked for you! Have you had any other symptoms? X x x

@RCARB How strange that it turned into a negative? Maybe it was picking up another hormone? So strange. How are you feeling?
Yeah the nausea has gone now and getting same symptoms I get leading up to AF so pretty sure I'm out this month.
Feeling a bit fed up with it all and disheartened really but what can I do.

RCARB · 12/01/2024 10:21

@Elisabeth3468 I feel okay. I think I had already decided I wasn't so its not a massive shock this time around. Think I feel a bit better because I have dates in the diary for doctors and accupunture. Atleast I feel like I'm making progress, even if in reality I'm not!

Oh, im so sorry your feeling down. Its so crap, we all know! Your not out until AF arrives so don't be too disheartened! X x x

@RCARB are you getting the BFNs on the new batch of easy@home tests? It's so shit that you're going through these cycles of "false" hope :/

I'm really glad you've got your appointments coming up! Please let us know how the appointment on the 15th goes :)

Having the appointments in place is definitely progress, it's steps towards decisions being made, and gives you something certain to focus on ♥️

I currently have my period. I took quite meticulous notes over this last month on fertility friend, so that I would have a kind of "negative control" as me and DP weren't able to DTD this last cycle due to being in different countries during the fertile phase. Interestingly I didn't have any spotting before my period, but I did notice some twinges here and there (not applicable to everyone given I have stage 4 endo and get pains during different parts of the month), but it was interesting to be able to "symptom spot" during a month we weren't "trying", because I've not done that since we began. The lack of actual spotting was most interesting to me, as over the last months (when ive not been on progesterone) I've had spotting between 7-10dpo, but this cycle not.

I've been taking my supplements, I decided over Christmas that I would get the expensive supplements as my present to myself. I've been taking a fancy prenatal fish oil every day (can send photo/link if anyone is interested! Bought in boots), and those ubiquinol capsules (USA), as well as a new type of folic acid (methylfolate; from boots but not boots brand), which is apparently more bioavailable, and vit D (regular one from boots).

If it doesn't happen "naturally" for us this month then next month we will be doing IVF. A friend of mine gave me her leftover meds, which will hopefully reduce some of the costs. Emotionally, I had a hard Christmas, but now that I'm back to "reality" I feel somehow like I've overcome something, and that I'm ok with whatever the outcome of the next few months will be. That said, the aul mindset does vary day to day.

I'm also trying to lose weight now properly, as I've Christmas I did not give a fuck and ate so many packets of crisps and drank loads of wine 😂 so far it's going well enough! I'm doing seed cycling again this month properly, and am loving the effects of the linseeds 🤣

Lots of love @RCARB and everyone else!! Xxxxx

Elisabeth3468 · 13/01/2024 11:31

I caved and did a test this morning and stark negative. As expected. Period due Monday - weds (not entirely sure as didn't track). Going to get back to tracking this month. Onto cycle 9.
How long have you been ttc now @mushroomushroom ?
It deffo feels more productive when you are in the system getting tests etc.
my partner has a semen analysis on 15th and then we will be referred. Not sure what they can do for us as we already have a child (we had IVF on nhs) but I think they can offer some more tests as least maybe a hycosy as I never had one of those before.

mushroomushroom · 15/01/2024 19:58

@RCARB how did your appointment go today? Thinking of you xx

@Elisabeth3468 been TTC coming up on two years soon, had a loss nearly two years ago and no hint of anything anything since, and was diagnosed with stage 4 endo after the loss. We've done most of the tests (not DNA frag). I'm surprised they didn't do a hycosy before you did IVF before, but in any case, it's not something to worry about, it's pretty much painless, and it's good to know for yourself. I really wish you the best of luck xxxx

Ahh yeah that is a while, it's such a tough journey and so hard not to get down by it. I really struggled first time round and even now I have a child infertility never leaves you. Is IVF funded in your area?
Yeah they didn't even offer a hycosy but I think it's because my partners sperm count was so poor that our chances were so low they didn't bother maybe?
AF arrived for me this afternoon so it's on to cycle 9! Xx

mushroomushroom · 26/01/2024 17:25

How is everyone doing? Sorry I've been a bit awol!

@Elisabeth3468 ivf isn't funded where I am, we'll be paying the full whack. Decided to delay it a bit, originally the plan was for feb but I'm actually feeling quite down these days so I didn't think it was a good idea to mix the ivf hormones with the low mood, so we'll wait a month or two. Would be amazing if it worked on our own before then, but hopes aren't high.

I'm 4ish DPO today, but we only DTD once this month for various reasons, so I don't think it's that likely, so I'm not symptom spotting or anything. I'm actually having a glass of wine right now 😬

I hope you and @RCARB are doing well! @RCARB did your appointment go well?

Lots of love xxxx

mushroomushroom · 05/02/2024 18:26

CD1 again 🙄

Postponed doing the IVF for the last month, going to have one last month naturally trying before going for it.

Hope you all are well, lots of love xxx

RCARB · 06/02/2024 13:17

Hiya! So sorry I've been AWOL. My head is just not right at the moment and trying not to get too wrapped up in everything that comes with TWW.

@mushroomushroom My appointments were an absolute shit show (Yes Again!!).
I had one with my GP, who basically said they didn't have anything else they could help me with so i need to wait for my referral (that they put forward in October!!!!)
Then I had an appointment with the hospital, who couldn't help me because I had been referred to the wrong department. So now I have to wait for another referral and appointment. I was devastated. All so disappointing.

It has made us take the leap to book a private appointment though, which is now booked for 21st Feb.

So....I've been a donkey on the edge.... hiding....sorry again guys . Its been rough 😘

I'm CD 24. AF due CD30/31. No test taken. Feel 1000000% not pregnant so think ill just wait for Af this time.

How are you all doing? X x x x

Hi OP haven't read the whole thread but have seen your test pics. Just a quick question but when dipping LH aswell as HCG have the strips developed next to eachother like pics show? Just a heads up that if so the dye can leak across to the hcg from LH. I've been caught out with this 😢 and have also suffered chemical pregnancy so really sympathise x

RCARB · 13/02/2024 12:25

@Msgiggles30

Hi, no they developed separately just placed them next to each other for the picture to make the line more
noticeable. I had worked out when first testing a couple of years ago that developing them side by side gives a false positive. Thanks for the advice though. Xxx

Aw that's good I was just checking. I am negative yet again this month. Wishing you lots of luck x

@mushroomushroom

We have our private appointment on Wednesday!!! Anxious is not the word..

@RCARB hi there!!! Sorry I've been completely AWOL, I ended up feeling super down in the dumps and stopped coming onto Mumsnet (or any social media at all for that matter) while I tried to get myself back together again! I'm feeling much better of late, thank god! How are you doing?

How did the appointment go? Lots of love!! Xxx

mushroomushroom · 22/02/2024 09:37

No news really on my end! I I'm 6dpo at the moment, this month I decided to try taking a tiny bit of aspirin in the evening (although I don't recommend self medicating without dr advice! That said I do not follow my own advice and decided to just try for this month, cause what harm 😅), and I'm feeling pretty hopeful for some reason this month!

I've been having increased pelvic pain this month so I'm going in for an ultrasound next week to see how the endometriomas are, if they're bigger or something and that's what's hurting! And then the month after we will begin IVF!

I postponed the IVF until now because I really was not in a good headspace and I didn't think it was worth the risk of adding hormones into the mix when I was already feeling quite wobbly!

Xxxx

RCARB · 27/02/2024 09:13

1 DPO again here. Let the torture begin 🤣.

I don't know why (and not sure if its a recipe for disaster) but feeling quite positive about this month.

I did have a odd thing happen with testing my Lh peak though. I have had a super high LH reading ( 2.35!!! Usually 0.95 to 1.5) maybe I have tested too late on previous cycles and missed the peak but still that surprised me. Hoping that doesn't mean anything bad. The higher readings have stuck around a little longer too. Usually peak and then back down to low readings after 24 hours but its been 36 hours now and they are still reading on the high side(0.8) Today.

Anyway I'm feeling good this cycle!

Is everyone else feeling positive? has anyone had some good news X x x x

OP posts:
mushroomushroom · 28/02/2024 07:32

Holy cow that is a seriously high LH reading!!!! I hope you and DH are getting busy!! 😁

I'm 12dpo today, I started spotting on 10dpo and it hasn't stopped 🙄 had a BFN this morning on the cheapie sticks too so I reckon I'm out! It's super annoying because if I'm not pregnant, my boobs being so sore and me being so constipated are just not worth it 🤣

Scan at the fertility clinic though tomorrow! Looking forward to the appointment to get the ball rolling! 🥰

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you this cycle!! ✨ xxxx

RCARB · 02/03/2024 20:18

@mushroomushroom Hey Lady, how are you doing? All okay with your scan? Hahaha I feel ya! What's the point in feeling so poo if its not because if a little stowaway!

I'm 5DPO today. Far too early for any symptoms, I know......but im just starving, like all the time! Alot hungrier than just my usual greed haha. Also knackered! I have been fighting a cold the last couple of days, which maybe the culprit but I dunno, I feel a little different this cycle. Hopeful I guess....which im terrified to be after soooo many months of disappointment. Fingers crossed 🤞❤

Hello! I'm on CD 5 today, period arrived before the weekend. I'm feeling hopeful for you too!! You're 7dpo today now? Xxx

RCARB · 05/03/2024 09:14

@mushroomushroom oh how rubbish 😔. Are you feeling okay?

Yep, im 8DPo today. Had a weird back ache all last night in the flank of my back around to the front of my tummy, but all on the left side. Exhausted. Can't stop eating and terrible gas (which is not a symptom I can cope with since i don't do that, being a princess you see 🤣). I don't know if its just all in my head but I feel different somehow this cycle. Im going to look like a right fool when Af comes as usual next week 🙈. X x x

RCARB · 05/03/2024 14:30

I'm already regretting voicing any of those hopes. Now I think they are all in my head 😩 Why is the TWW such torture? 😭 x x
