16 DPO, high temp, AF due tomorrow

Hi All,

Got myself in a bit if a tiz - this TWW as been awful.

Have been trying on and off for a very stressful 18 months, all without a sniff of a BFP.

But this month I have felt so different. After O (tested with CB O test and temping). Had soooo many symptoms; nausea, cramps, bad taste in mouth, headaches, creamy cm and dizziness all varying from 5DPO until today (16 DPO). As I have never normally experienced any of this during the TWW I have been convinced I would be seeing BFP soon. Temp has been measuring high (and still is today) but after getting a BFN today when I tested, im worried I've just imagined all of it. I used CB early detection and It wasn't with my first urine of the day (I was trying to hold out until Tuesday if no AF Tomorrow....I failed!).
As Im slowly driving myself mad, I was just wondering if anyone got BFN at this point and went onto the see BFP? Could it be that I didn't use first urine of the day??

Clutching at straws I guess, but there is always hope until AF arrives

@mushroomushroom I've done a test when I've come home from work (so not first urine of the day) and im sure i can see a shadow. DH can't see anything so decided its just in my crazy little hopeful head 🥴 xxx

I have absolutely everything crossed that it's the beginning of a proper bfp!!! 🥰♥️

I'm feeling better today, yesterday I completely binged line of duty and plan on doing the same again today 😂

I'll keep you posted on the ivf stuff, still waiting to hear back for an appointment, I'll email them again today :) but yes it feels good to have made "the decision", let's just hope it actually works 😂

I also took vitex! I took it for a few months and it did make my cycle longer, but it also made me put on a whole load of weight, and I didn't get pregnant anyway, so I stopped it 😅 never lost that weight 😅 my dp is on the wellman conception vitamins, but I think he's only being regular with them recently, I spent ages trying to get him to take his other vitamins before 😂 Id spent a fortune on all these prenatal vitamins for myself but decided to stop being ridiculous and just take folic acid and vitamin D and B, but now that I've been reading about ubiquibol I think im about to go back to my ridiculous ways and spend another mini fortune on vitamins 😂 sure it can't harm, and it they improve egg quality for before ivf it can only be a benefit!

You're very sweet, I feel the same way! It's nice to have someone to talk to who is going through the same things as you are and can understand how you're feeling 🥰 xxx

Sorry for such a late reply!!! I am away with work this week and spent the weekend flapping to get ready for it 🤣. I think my test last week was all I my head. All the days after just the usual stark white. Af is due on Thursday and I'm 13 DPO today....HOWEVER!! I have done a test while im away and I don't know if its just because I'm here without DP so I don't have anyone to talk be down to reality... but .....again I'm sure o see a shadow 🤣 yes I'm deffo a loon haha. Look...can you see anything?

Well that's what I was hoping for, I ha e super short light periods so I'm convinced that's the reason we are not conceiving I told the doctor this and he looked at me like I was an idiot. But I was really poorly during my period after taking vitez for a couple of months and I put it down to that. It did add an extra day to my period though 🤷🏼‍♀️

I still have another xouple of days away with work, which are really busy so I don't really have time really think about my bfn that I'm pretending is a bfp. So I will test again tomorrow. Being away with work and not drinking though is a killer!!!!! I dont know how sober people do it 🤣.

@RCARB ahhhhh I'm sorry I'm only writing back now, it's been a mental week what with family visiting and all the stress of that!!

Shit I'm sorry to hear your update :/ I can also see what you saw on the tests (I've been afflicted with lines eyes in the past though!) so I can see why it would be extra gutting to start spotting! You're 15DPO today right? Is this a usual time for your period to start? As in, is it late at all? What kind of spotting is it? Red, pink, brown? Have you done any tests since? If your period starts it's possible it could be a chemical, especially if you've had hints of lines on other tests 😔

@RCARB I'm on CD 11 today, my period was kind of a shitshow, came late and was painful 😅 I'm not sure my body got the memo though cause even though my period began on the 2nd oct (and was like four or five days late cause of the progesterone, can't remember) I started getting EWCM the day after my period ended (the 6th), and I've had loads since then, but LH strips have been a bit off, with high enough readings some days, then going down, then having a sort of peak yesterday? But not a proper one? I think I ovulated a few days ago and not today, as the EWCM is tapering off, but as I haven't been taking BBT I don't know if I've ovulated this month 😬 I have an Apple Watch that I got for tracking temp but it turned out to be useless for that, which says my temperature dropped today 😂 in any case, managed to DTD a couple of times even though they were some of the crappest shags ever cause we were both knackered and stressed. Last night DP even said "worst conception ever" after we were done, which to be fair was hilarious 😂😂

I hope you're doing ok today RCARB, thinking of you, I know how bloody disappointing it is to get a BFN after getting excited thinking you might be getting a BFP. Lots of love xxx

Honestly these tests are shocking ! I'm 16DPO today and only just got a VERY VERY faint positive on it but a positive on a FRER (still quite faint) can't be excited yet. I'd try a different brand xx

I'm so glad you can see it too. Felt like I was going mad. I didn't want to share with my DH as I was away and didn't want to get his hopes up. I've test since and its disappeared ☹.
Spotting was like an orange/ brown this morning and only visible on the tissue when wiping. Eveytime o go to the toilet in expecting my period to ha e started. Had awful cramps today too. Its deffo on its way. Was due today too so we are definitely out. Another month of disappointment 😪.

Oh bloody hell! What a nightmare. Do you thinks its the progesterone thats caused everything to be so crazy? Atleast you got some BD in doesn't matter if it was good or not. Conception is conception 🤣. So bloody romantic hahah.

@RCARB 😔😔 I'm sorry, it's just so crap isn't it, month after bloody month, trying to pretend you aren't getting your hopes up (of course you are) and then that you aren't crushed when you get your period (of course you are). I hope your period wasn't too painful 😩 did you end up telling your DH about the faint line you had? Sometimes it's easier to suffer together, but others it's easier to suffer alone. Thinking of you xxx

So for me, yeah I think it was the progesterone! I don't know when I ovulated, but I'm going to assume I did, and that hopefully some of the crap BD worked, "conception is conception" 🤣 most likely it didn't but sure what harm in pretending like I don't already know the outcome 😂 I think I'm something between 5-7DPO. My boobs are killing me the last few days, especially in the evening, which is wrecking my motivation to do some sports after work, even if it's just yoga 😂

In non-TTC news I actually did a big good shop yesterday and didn't buy any crisps or sweets or anything, and I cooked a giant batch of chicken and bean soup and prepared mushrooms and spinach for breakfast eggs :D packed my bag for work with all kinds of goodies, including grapes and blueberries, so I'm feeling pretty motivated for today, and am hoping I can bring myself to do some yoga and a dance vid after work 😁 it's a big step up after the last few weeks where I only ate crisps and instant noodles, with a pizza every so often as a "healthy choice" 😬

Also I should state my ovulation was wierd as hell this month with my LH levels going up and down for about 8 days so I'm not entirely sure when I ovulated either. Its a confusing time in the Carb house this month 🤣 xxx

@RCARB! Absolutely no worries, I know exactly what you mean! I haven't actually been checking mumsnet that much lately but do you want to know something funny my mind did? Last night I dreamt that i got a bfp on those shitty easy@home tests, and in my dream I came onto mumsnet to tell you 😂😂😂

No news here, still not pregnant, but had the "big" appointment to plan for ivf, the current plan is to start in jan/feb of next year. In the meantime I'm going to stop drinking and stuff to get my eggs in the best possible shape (worst timing with Christmas and everything, but I want to avoid any guilt considering how expensive it's going to be). Am still obviously hoping to get pregnant before then though 😂 who knows, maybe my dream is a portent! Put the electric blanket on the bed today, am currently having a glass of wine, and will have a bath soon. OH picked us up a Burger King for dinner (can you tell we enjoy healthy living 😂) so it's actually been a nice Sunday.

I'm currently -0dpo (got a peak last night/all day today)! OH has been sick and not in the mood but we managed to get a few crap BD in (and a good one today for a change 🤣) so hopefully that was enough.

Send me all pics of any shadow lines! I love to look at them!

Oooooh what a Sunday that is! Good work dear! We have an electric blanket too and I absolutely love it. Any excuse I get in bed and I'm gone..."going to bed for a warm" 🤣. This is our first winter in our new house. We went from a terraced to a grown up 3 bedroom and I'm very conscious of the grown up heating bills that will come with it. So the blanket helps avoid those a little!
Haha no, Its not the best timing, but it will be sooooo worth it when it all pays off dear. JanFeb is not that far away. How flipping exciting, but like you say, perhaps our dreams know something we don't and you won't need it 💖!!

Well I had a couple of faint lines on an easy at home yesterday morning. I don't like to post them on here though. I think too many people like to pi$$ on your chips 🤣 (I don't think you would do this BTW but others may read in) . I know its stupid to be annoyed by this when I would actually want an honest opinion but sometimesit he delivery just feels a bit harsh.
We have gone away for the weekend now until tomorrow and I haven't brought any tests with me, which is good because atleast I've not been constantly thinking about testing. I will do another test when I'm home tomorrow but will try and wait until FU on Tuesday (that won't happen) I will be 10 dpo by then. Have had a few symptoms but trying my best not to misconstude anything.
Had a cracking Sunday lunch today in a gorgeous country pub with a cheeky cider! Its been a good Sunday all round I think!! 😍 x x x x

I haven't tested yet but for the last two days I've had a wierd pinching in my pelvic area on the left side.I've never had that before but trying to to read too much into it. Im afraid to test now. I cant face another BFN. I've got two dates from two aps for my AF due. One is on Friday the other is Monday so I may try and wait until atleast Friday....whether I will or not is another matter haha x x x x

@RCARB no way, seriously??! That's so crazy!! What are the chances! God imagine if that was actually a sign! I've never had that happen before with someone in real life, let alone like this! Mad!! ✨

Oh I hope you enjoyed your little break 🤗 how many DPO are you now? If possible try and wait, I think overall it will stress you less! Plus, if you miss your period there will be no mistaking a line (hopefully!). The pinching is a good sign (not that I want to jinx anything!) but when I was pregnant before I actually had all sorts of weird pains, I was convinced my period was coming because I'd had spotting and weird cramps (the cramps lasted several weeks as well!)! No worries about not wanting to share the test, I know exactly what you mean about some harsh deliveries 😅

I'm 2dpo today and have been really in the mood for chocolate, which I'm hoping might be a sign cause I normally couldn't give a shit about chocolate 😂 to be honest I see signs absolutely everywhere 😂 super weirdly for me though, I have been developing a painful mega-spot on my chin, and have a few other smaller spots around my chin/upper lip, which I normally never have (I'm v lucky to have clear skin, and I normally only get the odd spot around my period, never ovulation, and always near my temples). Who knows!

That's so so crazy about our dreams, i really do think it's a sign, it must be! We were literally communicating in our dreams!! Wtf!! 💖 xxxx

We had a lovely time, thank you! I'm 10 DPO today. I had the weird pinching through the night but it seems to have stopped today. Worried it was just something completely different. I've had rubbish sleep for the last few nights broken up with really vivid dreams. I normally don't have any issues sleeping so that's odd too. I've not had any spotting, I wish I had really because I know that's a good sign of implantation. Im driving myself mad. Wish I could just know now, either way!

Hahah in the same and I would deffo take that as one and go and get yourself some of the good stuff! We deserve all the treats we can get to get us through the horror of a TWW. Im sending positive spotty vibes your way 🤣🤗.

@mushroomushroom I'm also unsure of when AF is actually due. For th first month ever I ovulated 3 days later than usual. Im normally day 14 without fail. So Friday will be the day I would usually start AF (day 29) but not sure now if that will go back 3 days also so will be day 32 this month? Which is Monday. Its confusing 😕 x x x

@RCARB I think normally the luteal phase is pretty fixed in terms of how long it lasts (normally 14 days), so it's likely that if you ovulated later than usual you'd also have your period later than expected. Which is super annoying when you want to test 😬

At 11dpo though I reckon you should be good to test in a few days! It's excruciating the waiting isn't it 😬 I really have all my fingers and toes crossed for you this month!!

I woke up today and felt really vommy, which I normally don't, so like an absolute eejit I've been googling if you can feel nauseous at 3dpo 😂 I'm sitting at work and am already daydreaming about doing cheapie tests, even though obv I wouldn't be getting a positive any time soon (if I were to get pregnant this cycle!). Ridiculous 😂😂

I know what you mean. I have a ridiculous notion in my head that I am pregnant but I'm absolutely terrified to think about it too much because I know how upset I'm going to be when its just the same as usual. I keep thinking how amazing would it be if we actually were and I could tell all my family on Christmas day! I love Christmas that would just make it extra special.
I think I'm going to try and hold off testing as long as I can. Atleast when I'm in the little unknown bubble, those things could still possibly happen and I can think of how I could tell them with a message in Christmas crackers or with a little gift or a card....see im nutty haha. Its hard isn't it.

Last night I did an ovulation test, which was darker than the day before, so then of course I had to do a hcg test, which of course was negative 😂 but I spent a good ten minutes imagining a line there, which was exciting for a bit 😂 I can already tell that this month I'm going to go mental and will be testing all the time 😅 but sure look, even if they're all negative, I'm used to it. While I'm still in with a chance I really look forward to getting to do my tests 😅

I had acupuncture this morning, and guess what my dr asked me at the end of our session? He asked me if I was pregnant and was smiling!! I said I don't know but I bloody hope so! It's mad because I've been seeing him for nearly a year because of the endo, and he knows that I've been TTC, but he's never asked me that! I really wonder if he noticed something in my pulse or something! I'm feeling really hopeful this month, it just feels like there's so many signs 🥰

I'm 4dpo today and I started on the progesterone pessaries again last night! Want to keep the spotting at bay! Last month I spotted for eight whole days before my period started 😬

Hahah im the same. I do so many tests usually its ridiculous. That's why I like the easy at home ones. I can do as many as I want without braking the bank. Glad its not just me too 🤣.

Well I've been a bit silly..... I did a easy at home test when I came home from work and there was a faint line, enough to get way too excited about. So then I went to my accupunture appointment and spent the 20 mins of relaxation imaging how I was going to tell everyone. When I came home I had a mild panic that it could have been an evap, so I did another E@H and it was stark white! So annoyed at myself for getting so excited now!

That's funny you had acupuncture today too! What if it turns out we're the same person 😂 I'm glad your acupuncture was relaxing and you got some nice thoughts in!

I don't think you need to panic about the white test after!! Late in the day and with diluted pee as well means that you could very easily get a white test! I've never had a proper evap on an E@H test, sometimes when it's totally dry I can see something but it's always obvious what it is. Clearblue on the other hand are a load of shite. Do you have any of the boots early detection tests? If so maybe try it in the morning? I've also heard that the second pee of the morning can be better than the first one in some cases, so (if you're going to test tomorrow) maybe try both of them?

I really don't think our dreams can be wrong, and even if it's not this month, it will happen xxxx
