@Un7breakable ah I see you recorded spotting on CD 21? That’s probably what has lead it to thought it was I that day, due to ovulation spotting?

Un7breakable · 08/06/2023 22:28

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Sorry to hear AF is arriving hopefully with DH off his shots this will be your month.

@CurlyWurly1991 I usually get my lowest temp on day of ovulation. Changing monitor doesnt change it unless I set it to OPK or discard my lowest then it sets it as CD14 which I don't think is right either. My CM disappeared on the 16th. I think 17th is more likely. I've aways trusted FF but not anymore.

Un7breakable · 08/06/2023 22:31

@CurlyWurly1991 interesting. It doesn't affect it if I take that out but if I add spotting today it goes to can't detect ovulation. Algorithms!

DmcinT · 08/06/2023 22:40

Thanks for the welcome❤️ It’s been a rollercoaster since January alright but I just have to keep telling myself this is the plan for me and it’ll happen when it happens (harder some days than others) if I could wait to test until Monday I would but a hen on Saturday night so feel I should before I go.

@Un7breakable sorry your having difficulty identifying O, it’s so frustrating but please god u caught it 🤞🏽

CurlyWurly1991 · 09/06/2023 07:35

@DmcinT ooh a hen do! Lovely. I understand why you would want to test beforehand; what test will you use? I was looking at them in Superdrug yesterday and the mind boggles.
@Un7breakable my pattern is similar, a temp dip is when I expect ovulation. However I haven’t got much chart data to confirm this. In your shoes I’d probably manually override for when you think o was. Ultimately you know your body and it’s just a guide. Do you have the premium version? I have upgraded recently and it’s good to search the charts gallery. I’ve stopped temping though anyway as lots of missing temps and a dodgy thermometer meant it was stressing me a bit.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/06/2023 07:41

@DmcinT I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Yep I def test early also if I've big drinking events coming up so I can drink guilt free.

@Un7breakable I'm not sure about your chart, I'm sorry, how sure are you on the day 19 temperature? If that was slightly higher, I'd have said day 17 could have been your ovulation dip.

@VixFromThe6ix sorry about your period arriving. Getting off the testosterone sounds like a really good idea to help out next month! Will it affect his health, does he need to go back on it after you conceive?

@LeopardLover haha yep we will def know what you'll be up to in Glastonbury 🤣 sounds like it'll be very fun!

@CurlyWurly1991 ooh I can't believe you're holding off testing.

The dog pictures are soooo cute!!

Yes that frequency of trying is too much! My natural level would be about 1-2 a week also. We've been trying for about six months now and so thinking we need to up it. It wasn't so long last time so getting a bit nervous

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/06/2023 07:53

Also any knowledgeable people know what it would mean if you spot a teeny amount for one day four days before your period is due, and then no more until your period arrives? It's happened this month (period due tomorrow, spotting on Tuesday) and last month.

Previously after a miscarriage I had continuous spotting for a few days before each period, which is indicative of lower progesterone. Would spotting for just one day then nothing mean lower progesterone also and the lining breaking down? Is there anything I can do to stop this and is it likely to affect ttc?

This sounds more like implantation? Which is very positive in my eyes! Perhaps you did implant last month but it didn't stick? I had implantation pains last month (felt completely different to any other pain) but unfortunately my period still arrived. From what I've read, this often happens when it's not top quality!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/06/2023 09:34

@LeopardLover ahh no, I'm sorry, that's rubbish.

I guess I'm worrying a bit that it's not normal to spot, and it might be my lining starting to break down at 8-9 dpo. I mentioned it to my acupuncturist and she any spotting can mean I'm not ovulating perfectly. Hormones should drop in one sweep right before the period. But if my spotting stops for several days, does that mean my hormones drop then increase a bit 🤷‍♀️ I'm on the supplements and acupuncture, not sure what else to do!

It would be amazing if it was implantation bleeding, but I've not had that before, so I feel like my body just doesn't do that

Un7breakable · 09/06/2023 10:43

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 might be worth speaking to your GP.

TheFanciestPants · 09/06/2023 10:49

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 so I have a very similar pattern, saw a gynae, had tests and she said it's fine. She said with super light spotting levels (I have a tiny bit around 10dpo) probably a lot of people have it normally but don't notice. They don't know why it happens, she could provide progesterone but there's no clinical evidence it will increase the chance of pregnancy (she also said that if you spot after your bfp than you definitely should get progesterone).
But as @Un7breakable says, I think it is best to get it checked out for peace of mind more than anything.

TheFanciestPants · 09/06/2023 11:07

@VixFromThe6ix ah, sorry to hear that my AF arrived too. Good to be starting a new cycle and glad you have the all clear from the gynae 😊

We are now in the queue for IVF, fortunately there is a local clinic which has a male infertility specialist and I am constantly chasing to make sure my referral had happened properly. I am hoping it will go through today after a few weeks of chasing 🤞

Rosie250 · 09/06/2023 11:20

Hi all, I’m 11DPO.. ttc for 11 months. Need some help from you lovely ladies, is this a negative pregnancy test or a VVFL?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/06/2023 11:28

@TheFanciestPants I'm so sorry. Is it NHS or private? Hopefully it will be quick for you to get started. I bet you can't wait to start going now.

Thank you for replying re what your gynaecologist said, appreciate it.

@Rosie250 I don't use those tests so I'm not sure! Hopefully someone will be on soon who does and will know

TheFanciestPants · 09/06/2023 11:37

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 anytime. She's a really lovely gynae and we had a great chat about clinical evidence and the stats behind it so happy to share!
We are going to use the NHS as also want to see a private male infertility consultant alongside. So want to try and not rush the decision making process (NHS IVF is good for slowing things down for sure 🤣).
I am so fed up of TTC but I also am really confused as we got pregnant in January but my husband has a super low sperm count. So I would really like some answers to help us choose the best path forwards.
My plan is to use the NHS cycle then if needed to go to ARGC (friend had 14 failed IVF cycles before getting twins there!).

SnookyPook · 09/06/2023 12:14

@Rosie250 that looks like a veeeeery faint positive to me... Tentative congratulations! I'd deffo test again in a day or two and hopefully it will leave you without any doubt! It is one of the OneStep tests? When I've used them at 14dpo the BFPs were fairly faint but a definite line. If I'd tried them 11dpo I suspect that would have looked like this. Everything crossed for you!

DmcinT · 09/06/2023 13:31

@Rosie250 id say that’s a very faint line 🎉🥳 hoping it darkens for u over the next few days. Are they a 10 sensitivity?

I was wondering does anyone know if they show a very faint line when it’s less than 10 (say 5-9) and when hcg gets to 10 they show a darker line? Or does anyone know for sure?

I had a very faint line this morn but I’m only 9/10 dpo so I’m wondering what it means for hcg numbers

Rosie250 · 09/06/2023 13:35

Amazing thank you so much for the encouraging words :) I’ll definitely test again tomorrow and fingers and toes crossed it gets darker! Yes it’s just a random pack of easy at home tests I bought on Amazon

DmcinT · 09/06/2023 13:40

@Rosie250 are urs 10 or 25 sensitivity? I got the 10 sensitivity but not sure if faint lines like ours mean hcg is under 10 or does it have to be over 10 to even give a faint line?

Eirlys1986 · 09/06/2023 13:46

@Rosie250 definitely looks like a faint positive to me! Do you know the sensitivity of the test? It’s similar to a faint line I got around 10-11dpo on a 10 sensitivity test and it actually took me around a week to get positives on the 25 sensitivity tests

Rosie250 · 09/06/2023 13:47

I just checked and mine is the 10 sensitivity also

Eirlys1986 · 09/06/2023 13:52

@Rosie250 great, the same as mine then! It took about 48 hours for me to start getting some colour to the lines and it really slowly progressed over a week to 10 days to more obvious positive. I would stick to using the 10 sensitivity ones to recheck your results as when I did the 25 ones it really freaked me out when it was starkly negative 😂
congratulations and hope it continues to progress well for you xxx

Rosie250 · 09/06/2023 14:12

Awesome thank you so much for your advice! X

DmcinT · 09/06/2023 14:29

@Eirlys1986 @Rosie250 ok I’ve done a bit of digging to see what the story was with my tests after my MC. I was in for bloods every 48 hrs until hcg was under 5 but I was doing tests at home too to see when I’d get a negative test. So the last one I can find (attached) was when my hcg was 18 that day! So even over 10 it gives a v v faint line (thought it was interesting to know) 😂

2023 TTC 35+ Part 3
CurlyWurly1991 · 09/06/2023 14:32

@Rosie250 that looks positive to me!

my understanding is that there can be considerable variation in individual hcg levels so whether it’s dark or faint at a certain dpo isn’t as important as that hcg increases over time.

looks like my period is here now - spotting turned from pink and a period and I have familiar period cramping. Never tested but at 17dpo so I think probably a chemical pregnancy due to all the symptoms I’ve had - although I don’t have a test to prove it.

onwards to next month I guess… may enjoy a glass of wine !
