thanks@CurlyWurly1991 and @RoseH36 today has been quite trying, I feel tired and a colleague even commented that I look worse for wear! how are you both finding this tww?

@CurlyWurly1991 i only tried BBT once and that was last cycle, tbh i struggled with it as my waking up pattern differs so much. sorry I cant help but i would be intrigue on what others input are.

39starstartry · 06/06/2023 14:35

Just jumping onto this thread as I was on a previous one. I'm 39 and TTC baby 2. Am feeling very PMT with low mood and am due my period in the next few days. Then it's back to trying again in the next cycle.

CurlyWurly1991 · 06/06/2023 15:52

hello @39starstartry ! Isn’t it cruel that we have the TWW to get through then worsening mood, cramps PMT and a period at the end of it. Mine has just started so I’m thinking ahead to the next cycle, grateful this past one was only 27 days as they have been long and irregular of late.
@bunnynbear no worries, I think my chart is pretty unclear as I missed a few readings while away. It was also using a digital thermometer rather than BBT specific one, which has really annoying beeps and no memory for previous readings. Just ordered a BBT one so that I have at least a chance to fall back asleep after taking my temp at 6.15 as can save the reading without adding it to my phone right away.
I’ve found temping useful because it removes some of the false hope of the TWW - I knew about 4 days before my period that I was almost certainly out for the month because of low temperatures.

CurlyWurly1991 · 06/06/2023 15:52

Should have said ‘false hope’ of TWW - not all the hope!!

39starstartry · 06/06/2023 16:25

@CurlyWurly1991 it's the worse isn't it! Last month I had an unusually long period it was like Mother Nature was taunting me. I'm planning on trying a fertility cup this cycle. Thinking I may invest in some good new vits too.

Elen123 · 06/06/2023 16:58

Hi ladies,

I lost you all in the group change over so hope you don't mind me re-joining. You were all so kind and helpful before.

Hope all of you in TWW are managing ok and there are some more BFPs coming in for you all soon!

@CurlyWurly1991 that's so annoying when the chat goes a bit up and down. My advice would be definitely get a BBT one that doesn't beep but has a light and saves temps. I have the newer natural cycles one and can recommend. Not sure if it's the same for everyone but my app tends to say if I go up past 36.40 and then stays up there or goes higher 3 consecutive days in a row then it confirms ovulation. I have been wondering about getting a PdG at home urine test to compliment this. Obviously so I can just enjoy weeing on more sticks 😂

Update from me is OH didn't go in the hot tub much only when cool with bubbles (thanks for the advice!). MIL was asking too many questions about why he wasn't getting in why both of us weren't drinking much so he just retorted in front of all the family we were trying and had been for a while so everyone now knows and has left the topic alone since which I'm grateful for.

Elen123 · 06/06/2023 17:00

Also I think I have/am/about to ovulate would love to find some TWW pals.

In the meantime was wondering if can someone give some advice on SMEPing and clear blue digital vs easy at home LH tests? My question is what happens if they don't match up, which do you count your 4 consecutive DtDs from?

Clear blue said CD16 (Sunday) but easy@home (trying to get better at line reading and knowing a bit more precisely about ovulation) didn't turn to a double line until CD17 (Monday/yesterday). Just due to how things have panned out we have already DtD 4days in a row and not sure how much energy the OH has! May be more likely to miss tonight then try again tomorrow but is that a bad idea?

This is our sixth cycle of trying trying (trying not to count times before that for my sanity) for #1. Im 36 and have endometriosis so will be chatting to the Dr again next month which we're both keen to avoid!

Eirlys1986 · 06/06/2023 18:37

@Elen123 I think with your DTD 4 days in a row (I presume this has been around your positive OPK) will cover you very well if you miss a night then go again. You’ve got to give yourself a rest! A lot of evidence shows it is adequate to DTD every other day anyway due to life span of sperm etc as you’re basically just aiming for live sperm to be present when an eggs released (which I’m sure you will have achieved with your good efforts)

Elen123 · 06/06/2023 18:57

Thanks so much @Eirlys1986 for the reply.

Yes CD9 which would have been too early then CD14, 15, 16 and 17 with static smiley from clear blue on CD16 and dark double line from easy at home CD17.

More importantly how are you getting on?! Hope everything is going ok and you're managing to relax into things.

Eirlys1986 · 06/06/2023 19:44

@Elen123 your timing sounds perfect and very similar to the smep we did before my BFP. I must admit once the OPK positive appeared we only did it for 1 night on day after then stopped.
I am good thanks so much for asking, currently in Corfu on holiday chasing the toddler around. I am 7 weeks now, feeling a bit freaked out as felt minority sick last week then this week nothing. I am of course grateful to not feel sick during holiday but it’s making my mind worry about why I don’t felt sick. Have a first scan in a week the day after we get home so fingers crossed for that.

Eirlys1986 · 06/06/2023 19:45

@Elen123 *minorly 😂

Un7breakable · 06/06/2023 20:08

@Eirlys1986 Fingers crossed for you. I'm sure it will be fine.

RoseH36 · 06/06/2023 22:14

@bunnynbear charming! I'm sure you looked just fine. If you're anything like me I found the first cycle and tww afterwards mentally exhausting and constantly overthinking things.

Still no sign of AF arriving so starting to feel a bit of hope but also a bit of anxiety/fear creeping in.

@39starstartry @CurlyWurly1991 sorry to hear you both think you're out this cycle, sending positive vibes your way for the next one.

@Elen123 it sounds like you've given yourself the best shot at things so don't be hard on yourself.

@Eirlys1986 it's hard not to overthink things isn't it? Fingers crossed everything will be fine and your body is being kind and giving you a break while you're away from the sickness.

Elen123 · 06/06/2023 22:17

@Eirlys1986 thanks! sounds like we've given ourselves a good chance this month so fingers crossed! Thanks for giving me a positive boost!

Hope Corfu is lovely 😍 sounds like just what you needed! It sounds like the sort of thing that may improve when they were on holiday with being able to rest more (...as much as your toddler allows!) and eat as and when and what you feel like would likely help ease things? Enjoy your time away to the max and keep us posted with how things go when you get back 😊

Elen123 · 06/06/2023 22:19

*you are on holiday

Elen123 · 06/06/2023 22:26

Thanks @RoseH36 fingers tightly crossed for you! I think I struggle with the cross over point of 'being able to do something' to feeling powerless. Have done some nice relaxing me things this evening. Hope you've been finding some peace and relaxation too.

RoseH36 · 07/06/2023 07:33

Couldn't wait until tomorrow so tested. I should be feeling happy yet all I feel is worried. I keep telling myself 4 in 5 pregnancies are fine so trying to focus on that.

CurlyWurly1991 · 07/06/2023 07:39

Aww @RoseH36 congratulations that is a lovely strong line!!! How many dpo are you? I totally get the fear… the hormones will be adding to it. How are you feeling overall?

My period started lightly for about 5 mins then stopped. Lots of cramping and weird pains. Very sensitive smell and nausea. Not sure what has been going on with my temps and didn’t take it this morning due to disrupted sleep. Going to wait it out and see what if anything develops.

RoseH36 · 07/06/2023 07:48

@CurlyWurly1991 thank you, think I'm around 12dpo today. I'd been getting twinges of SPD on and off over the last week or so but said to DH I must be imagining it as it's too early, guess I wasn't imagining it. That started at 11 weeks with my first then last time it was kicking in at 4 weeks. Apart from that I've been ok, a little more emotional than normal recently so guess hormones are causing that too.

How many dpo are you? Wonder if the weird pains could be an early sign? The dull cramping I was getting just felt different to period pains, exactly like the first time. Can't recall whether it was the same last time but I think I've blocked so much of that out.

Eirlys1986 · 07/06/2023 08:13

Congratulations @RoseH36 🎉
thanks for the positive thoughts @Un7breakable @RoseH36 @Elen123
Definitely sounds like you are in with a good chance this cycle @Elen123 fingers crossed! X

CurlyWurly1991 · 07/06/2023 08:21

@RoseH36 its crazy isn’t it when you feel stuff but worry you are imagining it. I had terrible SPD last time (crutches etc) so am steeling myself for if/when we conceive again.
I was last pregnant 10 years ago so quite a gap… but there’s something about this intense sense of smell and aversion to coffee that got me wondering. Have joint pain which is odd and just non stop low level nausea.
Not sure how many dpo I am, somewhere between 9 and 15 I think. Going to hold off until the weekend to test because it took me until 18dpo to get a positive last time.

CurlyWurly1991 · 07/06/2023 08:23

also - @RoseH36 is there anything you’ll be doing right from the start to help with the spd? I swim and have wondered about avoiding breaststroke but perhaps there are exercises etc to help. I’m hyper mobile which is where I think it stems from for me.

RoseH36 · 07/06/2023 08:30

@Eirlys1986 thank you.

@CurlyWurly1991 I was like you on crutches too. I got myself a leg cushion last time to use when sleeping (one of the JML ones) as thought if I could try and sleep in a better position from earlier on it may help. The first time I just used one of those large pregnancy pillows but didn't get that until quite late on. At least the leg one is smaller for earlier on in pregnancy.

Apart from that I think it will be taking it easy. I've had a complete career change since my first so now work from home which I'm hoping will make it easier when I need to rest, I know I definitely overdid things first time round for fear of letting people down at work rather than putting my health first.

You're doing well not testing! Keeping things crossed for you.

Elen123 · 07/06/2023 09:36

@RoseH36 congratulations 🎉 that's super exciting news to see this morning 😁

@CurlyWurly1991 fingers tightly crossed for you too.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/06/2023 11:51

Just checked in and saw the brilliant news @RoseH36 congratulations!!

Hope everyone is doing okay. @Eirlys1986 hope you're having a lovely holiday! I second what someone else said, about feeling less sick because you're not working and rushing about in the normal routine.

Ha yep, eight times did feel like a bit of a slog 😅 But when we were successful last time, we did it twice a day for 10 days. Think my partner is keen to emulate that.... I however am not!
