I can see lots of TWW threads for end of April but I thought I’d start one for any of us who are 1dpo in early May.

I’m 1dpo today. Fourth cycle of trying for second baby. Ovulation day came a week early for us this week, but we DTD 3 times in the fertile window so I’m hopeful.

I don’t remember getting any early symptoms with my last pregnancy.

I usually test waaaay too much. So get ready to see loads of iffy faint lines -ha!

What about you?

@CinderRosie yes similar here, part of me is desperate to have another baby and another part is scared we don’t have the time/energy just yet and we should wait a little longer. DH and I have discussed having a break for a year if we aren’t successful this month. That way DS1 would be on free childcare hours and hopefully potty trained before another one came along…. But then there’s the biological clock ticking, too.

@PollyDarton1 the first time I got pregnant my LH peak was never high enough that both lines were dark. I do find it easier to scan the lines in the app than by using my own eyes. If it starts to get lighter again rather than darker in the coming days, then I would treat this as your peak, and confirm with your temp going up after. Hope that makes sense.

@Unicorn25 I’ve def read about people have “plateau” LH where it stays positive for more than 24 hours before coming down again. I haven’t had that happen personally tho so don’t know lots about it.

Cross posted with @DmcinT 🙃

Soz you’re feeling knackered!! I know what you mean about trying to soften the blow.

I wonder if maybe mine don't 'peak' as such, this is definitely one of the strongest lines I've ever had, plus it's bang on time if my cycle is 35 days (which it often is).

I'll test again this evening and see if it's decreased, if so I'll take this as peak. I am having a lot of associated symptoms with my usual ovulation period, and me and DP have just DTD (both have day off 😂)

FindMyRainbow · 06/06/2023 16:43

Oh @fleur89 I'm so sorry to hear this. I'd been thinking about you yesterday when I posted and checked back to see if I'd missed an update but it must be so incredibly tough. It does sound like you have a positive sprinkling in there though so good for you and fab you have the health care to assist with future monitoring. Enjoy some drinks in the sunshine as a positive 🤗take care of yourself xx

FindMyRainbow · 06/06/2023 16:47

@PollyDarton1 I've not used those tests so am no expert but on the clearblue flashing smiley I definitely didn't get peak only high when I conceived last time and hadn't even expected I'd be pregnant because of it but was. It's hard and makes you question whether your body is ovulating properly but don't let it put you off. I'm guessing it can just be with the timings of testing etc. too that can impact it so just DTD and keep hoping! Best of luck x

FindMyRainbow · 06/06/2023 16:53

@HavinKittens everyone is different and you have to take your circumstances into consideration and if you're finding TTC stressful or enjoyable, but i had to delay things after my first due to a bad smear, then another delay trying to conceive, then a loss at 22 weeks and now trying again = at least 4.5 year gap between current DS and any future (hoping) so I don't think you can predict what's to come and we just have to accept but knowledge of the unpredictable may mean its good to give a go if you're upto it because you just don't know what will be in 6+ months if that makes sense. Sorry, not trying to pressure just speaking from my opinion!! Xx

I'm so confused, temp isn't changing (it's consistently just below 36c) and OPK aren't peaking but not far off. I would say this is the strongest one I've had so far this cycle but it's not positive is it?

mine done ever really get brighter than that, however it will be significantly brighter than rest of my sticks.

1DPO - didn't manage to BD yesterday or today as i have got sore throat/cold - honestly feel awful.

Did manage BD the three days building up to ovulation. hoping something stuck around. i always feel gutted if we don't do deed on ovulation day.

PollyDarton1 · 07/06/2023 08:00

I think yesterday was my peak, either that or the day before (tests were similarly dark) - I've had a spike in my BBT (up to 36.08 from 35.83) which I think is consistent with post ovulation (or seems to suggest on my app).

I took a OPK this morning and it's fainter, so I think I'm gonna take yesterday as peak ovulation and confirm with some more OPK today.

We DTD twice yesterday 😂 and 2 and 3 days before. Hoping that's enough!

HavinKittens · 07/06/2023 08:09

@PollyDarton1 def sounds like you’ve found your peak and done more than the necessary 😆nice one!

Morning everybody!

8dpo over here and I did an Internet cheapy this morning, honestly what am I like?! Negative, ofc

HavinKittens · 08/06/2023 07:12

Sorry to double post but also wanted to say:

I REALLY hope we get a couple of positives this cycle, it doesn’t even need to be me, I just want to see some positives. ✨

DmcinT · 08/06/2023 07:56

@HavinKittens me too, it’s so lovely to see the good news and know there’s hope 🤞🏽🙏🏽❤️

CinderRosie · 08/06/2023 09:55

7DPO today and last night I was tempted to do any internet cheapie but was like no. If it's negative then I'm none the wise and if positive I'd be freaking out about chemicals. I have felt exhausted all week despite sleeping like a log, had a headache this morning and just feel meh.

PollyDarton1 · 08/06/2023 10:59

1 DPO but took a OPK which is still fairly strong 😂 Had another day of temp rise (36c on the dot). Weirdly constipated, which I never am and woke with a headache (normal).

Feeling relatively serene about it at the moment, I know if I do get BFP it's not going to be for a week or more, so won't get myself caught up in testing. After that, it's going to be a minefield!

PollyDarton1 · 08/06/2023 11:28

I've just wondered whether the practically positive OPK (it's stronger than two days ago) on CD25 could mean I may have ovulated on CD13/14 (I forgot to OPK and we DTD those days) and this positive OPK could mean BFP? I've done a FRER and looks negative.

PollyDarton1 · 08/06/2023 11:29

If I did ovulate CD14-16 (I didn't OPK) I would be 8-9 DPO 🥹

HavinKittens · 08/06/2023 11:36

Oh @PollyDarton1 that’s a crazy thought. I don’t know much about how sensitive OPKs are for picking up pregnancy.

Oh @PollyDarton1 that’s a crazy thought. I don’t know much about how sensitive OPKs are for picking up pregnancy.

I know that OPK can pick up HCG and LH, as they are both very similar hormones, and it was actually a positive OPK (way after ovulation) that first indicated I was pregnant with my DS! I have been assuming that the strong lines on OPK were delayed ovulation (my cycles are usually long) but there may be an anomoly!

Either way the FRER is negative, I would only be somewhere between 7-9 DPO if I ovulated CD13-15!

HavinKittens · 08/06/2023 11:47

oh! Would OPK be positive before a home pregnancy test then?

Let us know how it goes in coming days?

HavinKittens · 08/06/2023 11:47

Not necessarily, but sometimes it can indicate - for instance, if you get a positive OPK later on in your cycle (and you know you've ovulated beforehand) it can sometimes prompt you to take a HCG test - that's what happened to me with my DS as the hormones can both be picked up on a LH test. I don't think it is absolutely a given that you'll test positive on a OPK if you are pregnant, but I think in some cases it can be so.

I took another OPK and it's negative, but my wee was very diluted - I'm going to try and hold until 4ish and take another OPK. I did read that lots of people ovulate late and have a very short luteral phase, so it could just be that!

DmcinT · 08/06/2023 13:31

@PollyDarton1 oh wow imagine u had ovulated last week, wouldn’t that be a lovely surprise, you’d only have 2/3 days to wait for a bfp 🤞🏽🤞🏽 I’ve deff heard of that happening and opks showing positive with hcg

Kat7542 · 08/06/2023 13:35

@PollyDarton1 that's how one of my best friends found out she's pregnant, then got a BFP a few days later

PollyDarton1 · 08/06/2023 14:54

I noted down in my app that I had ovulation pain last Thurs/Fri (1st and 2nd June) but my OPK's were negative. I've taken another OPK (I couldn't hold onto my wee) and it's just shy of positive.

Is it possible to show up a negative OPK and still ovulate? I took OPK's in the days leading up to the 2nd, and all were negative (and CM isn't a reliable indicator for me). I had a temp dip on CD16 (30th May) so I suppose I could have ovulated 31st May/1st June (CD17/18) and just missed the window of OPK (at that point, I was only testing once mid morning).

I'm CD25, so I suppose that makes me at best 8DPO or less. Bloody hell, maybe this is going to be a BFP 😍Symptom wise, only a bit of indigestion and constipation (could be linked) and had some lower back pains/hip pains.

PollyDarton1 · 08/06/2023 15:05

This is my negative FRER and stronger than usual OPK!

Come wait with me - May TWW
HavinKittens · 08/06/2023 15:09

I think you always have a peak before ovulating but they can be so quick or during the night that you can easily miss the window to pick it up on a test.

My LH tests look similar to that even when I’m not ovulating
