I can see lots of TWW threads for end of April but I thought I’d start one for any of us who are 1dpo in early May.

I’m 1dpo today. Fourth cycle of trying for second baby. Ovulation day came a week early for us this week, but we DTD 3 times in the fertile window so I’m hopeful.

I don’t remember getting any early symptoms with my last pregnancy.

I usually test waaaay too much. So get ready to see loads of iffy faint lines -ha!

What about you?

@Optimistic66 I am even too nervous to have a bath on those days in case I flush them out or something. Madness

Kat4257 · 01/06/2023 16:11

On which day would you say, if you get a negative on FRER or CB early test, it's time to give up hope for the month? Or is it only when you get a period, even with those tests? 29/30 day cycle

HavinKittens · 01/06/2023 16:29

@Kat4257 lots of people say you’re not out til you miss you period and that’s true as there’s a small percent of people who don’t test positive until 14dpo +

But me personally, I generally think I’m out if a sensitive test hasn’t shown a positive on first morning urine by 12DPO.

I read a fertility friend survey where they looked at loads of lady’s test results and they found most people have a positive by 12DPO or not at all.

hope that helps x
sorry I know it can be so disappointing

@HavinKittens thank you so much, this is literally the info I've been looking for!! I want to remain optimistic but also realistic. Otherwise without knowing what I can believe, I struggle to trust my own optimism if that makes any sense 😂

SoItGoesAgain · 01/06/2023 18:28

@Kat4257 how navy dpo are you?

I agree with @HavinKittens that 12 /13 dpo sounds sensible - won't stop me testing right up until period arrives!

Kat4257 · 01/06/2023 18:38

I don't know for sure but around 11 dpo (just based on clearblue ovulation tests). Period due Sunday / Monday / Tuesday

Kat4257 · 01/06/2023 18:38

Was meant to tag @SoItGoesAgain

SoItGoesAgain · 01/06/2023 18:43

@Kat4257 fingers crossed for tomorrow morning then.

Just had a look back at my previous pregnancies.

I only got a positive at 15 dpo with one, but that ended in a miscarriage.

With my little boy I got a real squinter at 12 dpo and a decent line at 13 dpo. No one other than me could see the 12 dpo line.

CinderRosie · 01/06/2023 19:00

I’m CD14 and got my peak yesterday morning…. But have only just managed to DTD today. Haven’t tracked my temp properly this month either so won’t know when I actually ovulated…. Last high chance day is tomorrow then let the TWW commence!

HavinKittens · 01/06/2023 19:13

We managed to DTD day of my peak, but not ovulation day.

I am feeling more at peace with the idea of things taking time now. Not as frantic to get a positive. But we will see how the 2ww goes!

@fleur89 just caught up with all the messages. I know we don't know you, but feel for you so much! I hope you've got some answers. Sending big hugs. There's so much that goes into getting a healthy baby sometimes.

Interesting about the tests @PollyDarton1 I'm tempted to get checked after my cycle has been messed up. Was it a fertility clinic?

@HavinKittens do you take B6 in addition to other conception tablets? Might be worth me looking into to get back to my shorter cycle after 2 longer months. Thanks

HavinKittens · 01/06/2023 22:04

@FindMyRainbow i just take the B6, folic acid and vit D. That’s all. I would recommend it, although the shorter cycles hasn’t resulted in a BFP yet, at least I don’t have to wait as long for ovulation.

OP posts:
PollyDarton1 · 01/06/2023 22:42

@FindMyRainbow it's a fertility clinic that is mostly done online - you answer a short questionnaire about your cycle history and then they send you out a blood kit - you normally have to wait until you're 3 days or so into your period and then take blood, send it off in the post and about a week later get your results! I think it's about £130 but then you can book private consultations from there.

HavinKittens · 02/06/2023 06:35

2dpo here and not getting a rise in BBT
not sure what to think
really hope this isn’t a sign that I’m not ovulating

SoItGoesAgain · 02/06/2023 07:38

@HavinKittens I'd be surprised if you didn't ovulate. I think you conceived really easily with your first, so there's no reason to assume there's any issues??
How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

HavinKittens · 02/06/2023 07:39

Yes we did conceive easily with first. I think I’m just paranoid!

I’m 34, 35 in a few months 😑

BFN this morning! I think I'm out for this cycle...

@Kat4257 ☹️

Are you going to test again or just wait for your period??

SoItGoesAgain · 02/06/2023 08:03

@HavinKittens I think you are too - hope so!
You're still really young and given you already have a child I wouldn't assume you are not ovulating.

I don't know much about BBT though - how accurate is it?

SoItGoesAgain · 02/06/2023 08:05

@HavinKittens it is really hard though.
I've been pregnant 3 times (only one child though) and all three it happened straight away. I think I just assumed it would be that easy this time around too and am finding it hard that it isn't!

Kat4257 · 02/06/2023 08:06

@SoItGoesAgain my plan is to wait for my period but I know I'll get impatient and test again... probably tomorrow 😄

What do the ovulation test kits say, do you ovulate according to them? Or are they not that accurate?

SoItGoesAgain · 02/06/2023 08:10

@Kat4257 OPK tests predict ovulation, but BBT confirms it. I think you can have a rise in LH and not ovulate.

HavinKittens · 02/06/2023 09:35

I’ve been reading and BBT isn’t that accurate and some people have a slow ride or a “sawtooth” pattern, which is what mine looks like this month. Last month I had a really obviously jump up in temp.

OPK was pretty strong on cd14 and they haven't ever been wrong for me so far. In conclusion, I am over thinking it!!

sorry to hear about your bfn @Kat4257 x

It's safe for me to stop OPKs this month now isn't it? Definitely had my peak?
