I can see lots of TWW threads for end of April but I thought I’d start one for any of us who are 1dpo in early May.

I’m 1dpo today. Fourth cycle of trying for second baby. Ovulation day came a week early for us this week, but we DTD 3 times in the fertile window so I’m hopeful.

I don’t remember getting any early symptoms with my last pregnancy.

I usually test waaaay too much. So get ready to see loads of iffy faint lines -ha!

What about you?

@PollyDarton1 good to hear your tests came back better than you expected. I might look in to hertility myself, I’d love to know my egg reserve is okay. Bloody biological clock!

Good luck @fleur89 xxx

fleur89 · 31/05/2023 10:18

Thank you, not looking good unfortunately as my lining is only 2mm. They can't see anything on the scan but urine tests came back positive. They checked for ectopic and didn't see anything there either. Waiting for a consultant to give a second opinion 😢

I would definitely recommend it @HavinKittens - it gives you all sorts of insights into your ovulation and hormonal health, it was £130. Extracting the blood was a bit difficult so I'd read up on that but I found it relatively easy and the results were quick.

PollyDarton1 · 31/05/2023 10:50

Oh @fleur89 - you've really been through it this month. How many weeks pregnant are you estimated to be?

fleur89 · 31/05/2023 11:34

Really weird! Supposed to be 4-5 weeks by now. The consultant also scanned and said no evidence of pregnancy anywhere - nothing in tubes, womb, etc.
They took bloods and will call me back later today with results. Diagnosed with pregnancy of unknown location. So worried and confused!

HavinKittens · 31/05/2023 12:00

I’m sorry it’s worrying and confusing.

When I had my loss in Jan they found nothing on scan and blood tests confirmed hcg was falling rather than rising, that’s how they knew it was probably an early loss.

I remember how sad and confusing it was, not knowing what was going on and trying not to be too hopeful. Big hugs x

Hi, can I join if possible please? Month 1 of ttc for #2. 10dpo today according to Flo app. BFNs the past two days but getting lots of 'symptoms', so bought some Boots early tests and CB early tests, so going to do one with FMU tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed, although still early.

AF is due on Monday, but it is DHs birthday on Saturday and our wedding anniversary is on Tuesday, so keeping my fingers crossed this is our month so I can surprise him on one of those dates!

Oh @fleur89 , that sounds so so hard to wrap your head around. Fingers crossed the blood tests should be able to get to the bottom of it all.

HavinKittens · 31/05/2023 14:34

Hello and welcome @winterbabyrose
hope you’ll have some positive news for us tomorrow morning :) but ofc come and chat whatever the result

Hi everyone just trying to catch up but not yet read through the last couple of weeks

@fleur89 congratulations on the positive tests, but how stressful!! I had this with my very first pregnancy and went back everyday to epu until they found the baby maybe 5 days later !! I think it had just been too early when I first scanned, mixed with long cycles so had actually caught the pregnancy v v early. That said I did end up having an MMC at 12 weeks which I did always wonder whether I'd had too many scans early on 😵‍💫😵‍💫 ah a stressful time !! I really hope everything works out for you !

I'm now cd14 but not using OPKS (because I become obsessed) and hoping not to do any early tests in tww so i can cling onto hope 😅

DmcinT · 31/05/2023 18:07

@fleur89 ive everything crossed for u, it’s been such a confusing time, I hope ur doing ok❤️

girls I have a Q maybe someone will know (internet has such conflicting things on this)

so I got my peak yesterday morning & reckon I ovulated in the middle of the night/early morning this morning.

So do opks only come back down to 0 once you’ve actually ovulated? Or is it before u ovulate?

HavinKittens · 31/05/2023 18:17

Don’t think you can tell when you’ve ovulated by when the OPKs go back to negative. It’s the peak that triggers ovulation. How fast the tests become negative will be more related to how quickly your body clears out the hormone, I would have thought.

@fleur89 hope your scan goes well - so sorry been absent for a couple of weeks so just catching up now!

@HavinKittens thats brilliant that your cycle is getting shorter! Did you do anything different? it feels forever for me to wait until day 18/19/20 it fluctuates.

@DmcinT I'm so sorry you had to go through a MMC - thats shit! I know the feeling of just wanting to get your period back/body/cycle back to normal so you can carry on trying. I hope you are feeling better and fingers crossed this is our cycle!

TTC is just a whole lot emotion. Some times i even find DTD a chore now. We just fit it in our lunch break and get on with life haha! I do my BBT and it fluctuates alot - it zig zags up and down like no ones business but do it same time every morning.

in a desperate attempt today after DTD, i sat upside with my legs in the air, questioning my life

HavinKittens · 31/05/2023 18:27

Haha @Optimistic66 I have considered putting my legs in the air and a pillow under my bum, but haven’t actually done it - YET! If you get a positive this month then consider me sold 😂

I added in B6 and my cycle has been shortening ever since. But I also reduced how often I bf my little boy so may be related to that too.

OP posts:
DmcinT · 31/05/2023 19:51

@Optimistic66 i do the exact same, pillow under my bum and legs in the air 😂 anything extra to help or even think I’ve helped 🙌🏽😂 (I did the same when I got pregnant with the triplets so I’m convinced it works)

@HavinKittens opks back negative this morning so I assumed that meant I’d ovulated but as u say it’s prob just the hormone leaving my system. I’m officially in TWW again, I finished work today for 3 months (I’m a teacher) so time is going to go so slow. Any suggestions on how to not overthink every little twinge welcome… 😅

SoItGoesAgain · 31/05/2023 21:40

@Optimistic66 @DmcinT @HavinKittens

I'm a bum up with a pillow straight after too. 🤣

SoItGoesAgain · 01/06/2023 12:37

Another OPK question...
I think I got my peak yesterday. Does this mean I start counting today as 1 dpo, or do I wait 24-36 hours and then say Friday or Saturday is 1 dpo?

I think if I remember rightly (but please check) that the day you ovulate is counted as 1DPO, but I may be wrong!

SoItGoesAgain · 01/06/2023 12:41

@PollyDarton1 so about 24 hours after you get your darkest colour on an OPK then?
Don't know if I'm overthinking things, but I'm all in a muddle.

HavinKittens · 01/06/2023 12:54

I think it’s the day after you ovulate, hence “one day post ovulation” 1dpo
so I got my peak on tuesday
ovulated wednesday
and today is 1dpo

OP posts:
HavinKittens · 01/06/2023 12:54

I don’t think it’s an exact science tho, that’s why some people get earlier positives or later ones

If it works this month i'll be out here promoting it like no ones business.

CD16 still waiting for a peak.... honestly just come on already.

Perfect. Makes sense. Thank you. I was tying myself in knots! 🤣
