2023 TTC 35+

1000 replies

VixFromThe6ix · 24/02/2023 01:42

Hi everyone!!
Wanted to start another group thread for those TTC that are 35+.
When I was first trying, this group helped me a lot. We bonded and went through pains and celebrations together. I had two MCs over 2yrs of trying and lots of crying as I was typing many of my posts. Support helped... Especially at this age.
I had my first baby Jan 2022 and here we are now trying for baby #2.
I'll be 40 this summer!!!
Join me and share your story ☺️

@Eirlys1986 thank you! That’s great x

@Bumblebee413 no worries!

@AgeGapBbe i hope you get your static soon! Especially as the circumstances are favourable!

VixFromThe6ix · 06/04/2023 21:34

@Muriel84 when the test line is darker than control line I don't test till next day to see it go down cause I'm assuming I will ovulate in 24-48hrd and try to DTD that day and the following

Guys I tested and I'm only 7dpo. It's like I'm setting myself up for disappointment 😔 please take my tests away

@VixFromThe6ix don’t worry, I’ve definitely tested that early before and possibly even earlier even though I am fully aware of the absolute medical ridiculousness of my behaviour 😂, I think once you’re TTC all common sense tends to leave you and that slither of hope for an early positive takes over big time!

VixFromThe6ix · 06/04/2023 21:43

@Eirlys1986 that's is so true.... No common sense is present during this behaviour. I even stood there and looked very hard at that stark white space for a while. As if a line is magically gone a appear just to appease me 🤣🫠

Eirlys1986 · 06/04/2023 21:46

@VixFromThe6ix 😂 yup….this was me approximately 2 weeks ago, having only dtd once on static smiley day during the first cycle of trying…as.if. 🫤

VixFromThe6ix · 06/04/2023 21:52

@Eirlys1986 oh yeah.... I'm raising a 14mos old. I go to bed with him at 9pm. I'm pooped. So DTD once during ovulation days is usually the norm. I feel you on the "as.if." like my brain lives in a delusional world. I go from super positive each time my period comes (new start) to super negative (after bfn).

@VixFromThe6ix step away from the tests! I’m not home until late on Sunday which will be 9dpo, have one easy @ home test, may be tempted to do it the next morning however

VixFromThe6ix · 06/04/2023 22:25

@Mummyme87 oh that's exciting.... Monday is 10dpo, I'd definitely be testing!!
But I'm also testing at 7dpo, so don't take my advice 🤣

@VixFromThe6ix I’ve tested at every day since 7dpo previously, I try not to have any in the house as a deterrent. And frer I’ve had so many nasty indents I just don’t really trust them that much. I could potentially get frer in for Wednesday morning when I’m 12dpo. If that’s negative I’ll know I’m out.
feeling a bit periody tonight which I would love to think was a good sign but doubt it!

VixFromThe6ix · 06/04/2023 23:15

@Mummyme87 sending you baby dust!!! ✨✨✨

Muriel84 · 07/04/2023 07:33

@VixFromThe6ix thanks! In real life the test line wasn’t quite as dark as the control yet. I don’t seem to ever pick mine up that dark, maybe I peak over night. I’ll test again later this morning.

I found myself symptom spotting this morning and I’ve not even ovulated yet! 😂 hoping I’ll try and hold off testing early this time. I’m actually away when AF is due and I don’t think I’ll take any with me. The obsessing is real tho. So hard to think about anything else 🙈

@Mummyme87 🤞🤞🤞 I’m surprised about the frer indents. I never used them that much cos I refused to pay that much!

Mummyme87 · 07/04/2023 08:02

@Muriel84 yes back in 2017 they didnt have indents at all. Ttc last 18months and they do. I think the last 3-4yrs have been bad for them.

7dpo and boobs are sore today (usual) and feel a bit crampy but otherwise all quiet

I'm 7dpo today too @Mummyme87 . I said I wouldn't symptom spot but the night before last I couldn't sleep as I was on fire and then yesterday too. My DH hugged me and said, omg what's wrong with you, you are hotter than hell! Haha
And then before bed last night, I had quite strong periody cramps that had little shoot through my lady parts..
So I don't want to convince myself but this is all good no? Xxx

FiddleLeaf · 07/04/2023 08:52

7DPO here too but no strong symptoms to suggest a BFP this month apart from continued egg white (according to dr Google this could be a good thing) & I’ve been tired earlier in the evening but work has been full on. Naturally both things could mean something or nothing!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/04/2023 09:23

Ohh lots of us will be due to test at around the same time. I'm 6dpo. I don't feel anything, or any urge to test this month - opposite to last month!

@VixFromThe6ix I'm tracking this month in an app, and have logged lots of cm. I don't know what it means - possibly normal for me 🤷‍♀️ do you know if it's normal for you?

Mummyme87 · 07/04/2023 09:27

@Floralsandsmiles yes that sounds positive. Fingers crossed for you.

@FiddleLeaf I recall Ewcm as a positive sign when I was pregnant with my DS2

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/04/2023 09:34

@Floralsandsmiles and @FiddleLeaf good luck!

@BengalMama how are you?

I mean I built myself up last time and it was all nothing, so worried this time @Mummyme87 ... I mean the cramping has stopped now, so could have been a fluke 😞
I also have lots of CM @FiddleLeaf, nit necessarily today but yesterday I had a constant wet feeling, as there was alot.
Is it normal to have these "symptoms" and then they just stop? Or are they supposed to continue? Xxx

Mummyme87 · 07/04/2023 09:41

@Floralsandsmiles problem is half of them are totally normal symptoms. Like you will cramp due to what’s going on in your uterus, Ewcm happens 4-6dpo due to oestrogen surge, boobs hurt due to progesterone. All such an arse

Floralsandsmiles · 07/04/2023 09:42

Thanks @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 , I think it's all in my head again.. I spotted on 9dpo for 6 days until my period last month. So worried that come 9dpo this month, it will do the same...
I did read somewhere that women can still get there BFP if they have spot during their LP though? Xxx

It's all heartbreaking 💔 @Mummyme87 . Trying to keep myself busy and not think about it.. xxx

Mummyme87 · 07/04/2023 09:58

@Floralsandsmiles exactly. It’s heartbreaking when you want it so much. My first was unplanned so non of this, second was 6months of ttc, 3rd unplanned again so unaware of anything until AF didn’t turn up.. was ectopic anyhow.

do lots of nice things over the next few days to get you through. It will happen for you xx

AgeGapBbe · 07/04/2023 10:14

Thanks for the messages, sorry I’m being so grumpy- I’m just a bit over it!

we didn’t dtd last night after all, it was 12:40 when we got to bed and I have to work today. We were both just knackered. This is meant to be fun… right? 😬

no idea if ovulation will come, has come, is here 🤷‍♀️ no idea what my cycle is doing. Just seems like this month is a write off tbh.

Exactly. I also seem more sensitive to changes in my cycle since I had my son. Crampy at various different points, and nauseous too. Which doesn’t help. The only symptom I recall having all three times I fell pregnant early on was a very weird heartburn. I remember lots of cm later on. And I was very crampy the first ten weeks. X
