Hi everyone!!
Wanted to start another group thread for those TTC that are 35+.
When I was first trying, this group helped me a lot. We bonded and went through pains and celebrations together. I had two MCs over 2yrs of trying and lots of crying as I was typing many of my posts. Support helped... Especially at this age.
I had my first baby Jan 2022 and here we are now trying for baby #2.
I'll be 40 this summer!!!

No AF yet. It’s so hard not to get my hopes as it is a bit odd nothing has happened yet. I’ve felt slightly crampy today though so might just be a matter of time. I’ve got one test in the house but just don’t want to use it as the negative 2 days ago was hard to take.

@overthinkersanonnymus Sorry you’ve had more bfns. Which tests are you using that give evaps? I use Morisons ones and haven’t seen that happen yet. I was obsessed with poas too don’t worry it’s normal! I’m 12 cycles in now so it started to take its toll seeing bfns so I stopped testing as much.

@Eirlys1986 Thank you so much, I’m really getting my hopes up which is scary as it makes the disappointment so much worse if AF comes.

@vitahelp , perhaps if nothing happened by Sunday retest again? Although I know I wouldn’t last that long! I can imagine why you don’t want to test at present though , I stupidly found it made me feel quite grumpy having a negative this month and that’s the first cycle of trying so I appreciate it must be feeling enormously difficult now when you are further on in your journey of trying. @vitahelp everything crossed for you that this is your month. I bawled my eyes out this week not knowing what was going on so hard managing emotions and expectations through all this.

af has finally hit in full force today after a week of spotting and two weeks of cramps. Definitely going to manage my expectations better this month! Very relieved it’s here and not late so can just crack on but likely apart from my partner for 5 days the tail end of my fertile window over Easter 🙄🙄🙄🙄

CD1 and feeling much more positive tho as cycle has been spot on regular if a little weird! Gonna use opk but limit my pregnancy test use this time! Was never an early tester! Xxx

@Muriel84 sorry to hear AF is here and that all the uncertainty has caused you upset. Glad though that you’ve now got that relief of knowing where you are at with things and onwards and upwards with the next cycle 👍🏻 x

@Eirlys1986 thanks hun! Just exhausting, never going to be able to dtd like we did first time! We conceived every cycle we tried but I lost two pregnancies early on cos of this issue I have. So I just have this mindset that the same will happen again.

Seems there are a few of us at the start of our cycles which is so nice 😊 are you CD3 now? Xxx

Intercourse calculator have you guys seen this? Saw it on another group. Looks like it could be helpful! Could send it to my partner so he knows what to expect 😂 and they say romance is dead.

@vitahelp I use easy@home and had this tonight. I know this is an evap again as I had one just like it a couple of months ago.

I'm only 8/9dpo so it's far too dark to be real! I'll be retesting in the morning obviously to confirm but it's still frustrating!!

@Muriel84 I am CD4 at present, going to start ovulation testing with the clear blue digital indicator (cos I must be made of money right?!) on CD6 as that’s what they say to do with a 24 day cycle. I am aiming to Dtd every other day on flashy smiley days and then on fixed smiley day and daily for 48 hours afterwards to give us a good chance. I am doubting this is actually going to happen, we are both just so knackered by our little one! My other half was having a chuckle the other day saying how funny he finds it having it dictated when we should be having sex but there’s just no other way we would get our act together otherwise with the sapped toddler energy levels.
I am sorry to hear about your previous losses, I count myself very lucky to have not had to experience this yet as I can only imagine how devastating that is. Sending you all the luck for this cycle! X

@overthinkersanonnymus that test has colour to it, I wouldn't just be so sure its an evap, my positive was similar on same brand at 9dpo

@overthinkersanonnymus I've never had an evap or indent on Easy@Home. If there's a line there I know I'm pregnant.

If that's not a true line on yours, which doesn't look possible tbh as what else but HCG could be causing the colour (unless the test is faulty?) then I'd be complaining to the company.

I’ve had a couple of convincing indents on east @ home but not that level of darkness or colour @overthinkersanonnymus

CD10 here today. Will do an OPK today as haven’t yet, expect ovulation tues or wed. Trying to get some sex in before OH goes away for work on Monday!

@overthinkersanonnymus if I had taken that test myself I would be thinking it was positive. I’ve never had anything like that with evap lines/indents. Would be interested to know about your repeat test when you are ready to share as if it isn’t a true positive I would also be informing the company (unless this result is outside of the recommended read time I.e hour after taking test)

Absolute madness. If I wasn't a Poas addict and had this once before, I'd be waking up today heartbroken

@overthinkersanonnymus this is so confusing, you seem to be handling it very well though. I’d be in a right state. Have you used the tests in the past and not had this happen? I wonder if it is a bad batch?

I tested this morning and was bfn, I’m 13/14 dpo so would definitely have a line by now. The thing is AF is 1/2 days late now which is odd but stranger things have happened. Also thought my test looked odd, the control line is patchy? I definitely dipped it for long enough so don’t get it. Think I’m clutching at straws hoping it’s a dodgy test though..

@overthinkersanonnymus I am totally baffled by this. Was the previous evap line you had from same test batch? If so perhaps they are faulty.
@vitahelp so sorry about the BFN, I don’t wish to mess you about but do you think perhaps there’s any chance if late ovulation and/or implantation that you could still be pregnant but not enough HCG to meet the threshold of the test you are using? In which case perhaps a Frer or similar may be a different result? In my first pregnancy I remained negative on these form of dipstick tests for a good couple of days whilst Frer was positive (the Frer only turned positive the day after my period was due so presume I did have late implantation)

@Eirlys1986 Thank you for replying. I hope you’re okay today and having a nice weekend. I’m quite sure on ovulation as I did OPKs and got a really strong positive that only lasted a day and then they went to super faint for the next 3 days so I stopped testing then assuming it had happened. But I suppose it could be late implantation, I hope so anyway. I tend to compare to when I was pregnant with my daughter and got a clear positive at 11dpo, but I suppose it wouldn’t necessarily be the same the next time round. I haven’t got any more tests in and not sure I could cope testing again today, got a busy day ahead so might just try and forget about it for today. If I get to tomorrow with no AF that would be very weird and I would probably order some FRERs. I’ll probably have AF by the end of today though, so annoyed my body is messing me around, I was ready to accept I wasn’t pregnant a few days ago and now my hopes are up again!

Oh AF here now so I’m out. Obviously gutted but quite glad to not have to think about it, feel like it’s all I’ve thought about for the past few days.

@overthinkersanonnymus that is so annoying/upsetting. I would definitely be complaining to the brand.
@vitahelp will keep my fingers crossed for you. I completely know what you mean, it's the hope that gets you.

My temperature dropped overnight back to the cover line so fully expecting AF to arrive with force today. Pretty devastated as we dtd lots, I actually ovulated after my miscarriage and not a remotely positive sign something happened. This journey has been so crappy.

Onwards and upwards!

@Eirlys1986 no it was from a different batch a few months ago. This was the one I got in January

@overthinkersanonnymus that is unbelievable and scandalous, I bet first time you were even more annoyed. I am shocked tbh at your test this morning as last test defo had colour, that is so infuriating for you

@38andtrying I actually feel really pissed off about it. Maybe I shouldn't have tested so early, but if I'd have had this at 12/13 dpo, and got this, then I would have had hope.

I'm in work today and have the absolute rage 😂

@vitahelp sorry to hear AF has appeared after your hopes had been up. Our body’s do truely mess us around sometimes. I hope you enjoy your day and find some distraction in the busyness xxx

@vitahelp so sorry to hear af is here. Hope you have lots of nice things to distract you. My periods are awful since my son was born just to make things even more fun so I’m taking it easy today.

@Eirlys1986 i would love one of those smiley face clear blue thingies but I think will have to stick to savers cheapie opks for now! I seem to have a very short peak I never seem to catch it at it’s highest. Maybe I should poas twice a day…

@overthinkersanonnymus also very shocked by that false positive. So bizarre I can’t get my head round it because what’s the test line reacting to if there’s no betahcg in your wee? I’m so sorry you’ve been through that twice. I know the blue dye ones can be tricky but those are usually reliable? Xxx

@Muriel84 I have no idea what makes the dye stick If there's no hgc 🤷🏻‍♀️ I've been researching all day haha. The only explanation on line is that it's a positive but that's clearly not true and obviously not the only reason it can happen.

I've retested a couple of times today but that's it for me this cycle. Im not spending anymore of my brain space thinking about testing.

On to the next cycle!
