2023 TTC 35+

VixFromThe6ix · 24/02/2023 01:42

Hi everyone!!
Wanted to start another group thread for those TTC that are 35+.
When I was first trying, this group helped me a lot. We bonded and went through pains and celebrations together. I had two MCs over 2yrs of trying and lots of crying as I was typing many of my posts. Support helped... Especially at this age.
I had my first baby Jan 2022 and here we are now trying for baby #2.
I'll be 40 this summer!!!
Join me and share your story ☺️

@VixFromThe6ix yep normal, under ten days can be a problem I believe, but average implantation is 9 days past ovulation so 12 days gives plenty of time to implant before the lining sheds

VixFromThe6ix · 12/03/2023 22:30

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thanks, mama. Good to know. Had issues with implanting before and when I saw ovulation was cd18, I was nervous cause ideally they say cd14. I guess gotta see when my period actually comes. Apps don't always give accurate data, I find

@VixFromThe6ix yes I have easy @ home ones, they’re 10miu, frer are 6.5miu, most other cheapies are less sensitive. I got a very faint BFP with DS2 on 10dpo, other pregnancies have always testing on date AF was due.

on the tracking front, it took me a good few months of tracking to see that LP was 12days. Even now sometimes the apps try and tell me my LP will be 13days for unknown reasons

VixFromThe6ix · 12/03/2023 22:42

@Mummyme87 we have to track our own cause apps kind of give the best case scenario data... Like ovulation should be cd14... For the longest time I thought that's the case. Then I started tracking and it wasn't the case at all lol I think overtime the app averages the data to predict when your period is coming but mine is known to be off by a day or two.
To be honest I would have not known about ovulation tracking had I not googled something and one of these message boards came up as someone asking a question. I read the answers and that's how I knew....
I dunno, I wish we were told things more. Like maybe my family doctor should tell me or something. I don't like that I learned so much (right and wrong) by just googling non stop on my own.

@VixFromThe6ix oh yes, it was only from googling when planning to ttc my second baby that I learnt about ovulation day differing, LP length and that’s it’s okay if your cycle length varies, it’s not a late period it’s just I ovulated slightly later.

Mummyme87 · 13/03/2023 06:58

9dpo today. I have tested with a cheapie and if I squint hard enough there’s possibly a vvv faint line. However, I’ll be calling it a BFN. As expected

Freya8 · 13/03/2023 07:17

@Mummyme87 have u got a frer? Test with one it a cheapies givin u a faint line sounds promisin 💗💗

11dpo for me today too scared to test again since my bfn on a frer at 9dpo. Few stitch like stabbin pains since but like am i pinnin all hopes on that .. nope think am out girls jus dont feel the way i did wen i was preg with my first i just instantly knew xxx

Mummyme87 · 13/03/2023 07:41

@Freya8 no I don’t have any frer. Trying to avoid spending a fortune on tests. Dread to think how much I’ve spent since start ttc this time

TurnLeftAtTheBakery · 13/03/2023 09:29

I'm glad to have found this thread. I'm 37 and TTC no.2. Started trying in January. I had originally planned to avoid Dec and Jan but as time isn't on my side we'll be trying. Plus once you start trying it's hard to pause.

Freya8 · 13/03/2023 09:45

@TurnLeftAtTheBakery welcome!! Ur same age as me! And ttc no 2 also! 💗

LeopardLover · 13/03/2023 11:03

Morning all!

@VixFromThe6ix how are you feeling today? There's still time to get that BFN!

@Mummyme87 Still a few days for you too, I also vote you get a FRER!

@Freya8 It's so interesting you knew with your first, I definitely didn't. The two months I had symptoms I thought I was pregnant, the one I didn't is when I was pregnant haha. Well except for the horrible "period pains".

@TurnLeftAtTheBakery Also 37 and will be trying for #2 in a few months. Just getting my ducks in a row!

Muriel84 · 13/03/2023 11:29

Morning ladies! Can I join? Have been lurking a while and figured I may as well post. My mumsnet group was so supportive with my first pregnancy. Just started trying for #2 though not really trying trying this month, just dtd once in FW the day before my peak, but generally trying to up the momentum. Now 3/4 dpo. Things are v different this time around! Know chances low this cycle so planning for the next. Trying not to obsess 😬 Have been getting weird cramps on and off since the day I ovulated. Very strange never had it before. More on the left now, was in the middle. Keep thinking it will go but it hasn’t. I’ve just turned 38 and my LO is 2 x

Mummyme87 · 13/03/2023 12:00

@LeopardLover definitely know I tested far too early 😂 and I’m definitely not getting a frer. Honestly, I could have shared in them. Plus I always get bloody indents with them so would rather hold out.

LeopardLover · 13/03/2023 12:55

@Mummyme87 Haha! I think I'm going to buy some in advance so I feel less guilty about spending so much. I haven't had an indent before! Not looking forward to that when it does happen.

@Muriel84 Welcome! We are a similar age, DS is 2 at the end of next month. No idea how we'll manage to squeeze in lots of DTD with a crazy toddler, but once is all you need. Crossing my fingers for you!

Mummyme87 · 13/03/2023 14:51

@VixFromThe6ix I’ll probably test again tomorrow because ya know, I have no will power. But honestly don’t think it will have been anything, probably just an indent or something. I’ve had a vfl on easy @ home last summer, and came to nothing

Floralsandsmiles · 13/03/2023 16:11

Ladies, can I ask testing on NHS before having to do private, I've been told to do 21 day bloods and CD3 bloods. Then have a scan and DH sperm analysis. Is there anything else I should be asking for? They don't do AMH testing do they? Xxx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 13/03/2023 19:43

@Floralsandsmiles mine didn't do amh. To be honest they also didn't do day 3 or day 21 bloods when I was struggling after a miscarriage last time. They said you have to be referred to fertility and the wait would be long, so they gave me a basic hormone test. But depends on the area maybe - I was london

Aww OK, I'm sorry to hear they haven't been as helpful @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 😕xxx

Mummyme87 · 13/03/2023 20:21

@Floralsandsmiles your GP should be able to do cd3-5, cD21 (or 7dpo), thyroid function and prolactin bloods, a scan and sometimes a sperm analysis. I believe you need to be over 35 and trying for 6months, or under 35 and trying for 12months. My GP did it after 6months at 35yrs when I have two children already. This was in London. Some gps will be better than others, you may need to push with some

Thanks @Mummyme87 ! So they have set me up for a scan on Wednesday and have ok'd the cd3 and 7dpo bloods. They said this would include thyroid check. They are also checking sperm. I'm 36 in july and have been TTC just over 6 months now. Xxx
