Finally realised that our previous thread was full 🤣 I hope no one minds me starting up a new one!

Can you believe it's been almost a year since this was all started up?!

Hi @LucyLoopyLu 😊

To be honest, we've not really been actively trying for that long- I'd probably only say a couple of months? We've been somewhat trying for over a year but we haven't really been focused enough due to other stuff going on and quite frankly, much less BD'ing than when we were trying for DS 😂

I'm not sure what the plan will be going back to the doctor- I was actually not expecting to be seen by fertility at all, I asked for a gynae referral for excessive bleeding.

If it follows the pattern of the last time I was under the fertility team, they would expect me to get my BMI to 35 before they would even consider basic treatment, although I'm not sure what that would be given that I think I've exceeded the number of Clomid cycles one is allowed.

Either way, I'll keep you all posted 👍

LucyLoopyLu · 09/12/2022 13:50

@HeathenPlayingHouse oh that makes sense now. I feel like we have all been on this thread so long now it feels like much longer but remember you were not actively trying at first.

Didn't realise you had to have a certain BMI before any treatment, that's tough. Hoping you get a lucky BFP before then anyway 🤞

Do you find inositol helps with symptoms? They don't seem to think I have PCOS but I do have severe hormonal acne. I bought some inositol ages ago but never actually gave it a go, maybe I should

HeathenPlayingHouse · 09/12/2022 14:35

@LucyLoopyLu When I first started taking it, it made a difference to my cycle length in that I had my first cycle under 30 days in about 2 years- prior to that, it had only been under 30 days on my first Clomid cycle. I got AF about 10 days after starting it, and then got a BFP on the next cycle after 4 years TTC, so I've always felt it did something for me. That being said, I was taking other supplements and also did SMEP with Preseed, so I can't be sure what finally did it.

I feel a bit more balanced on it, as it's meant to help stabilise blood sugar fluctuations, which I have a real problem with. I will say that if you do try it, it might be worth staggering the dosage to start depending on how much you plan to take- it can have a real effect, bowel-wise, in the first few days 😂

If your acne is hormonal, you might find pure spearmint tea helpful- it's been proven to reduce increased testosterone levels, which is often responsible for acne. I got the Palanquin brand teabags from Amazon in bulk last time I was TTC, since it's harder to find in the shops. I've still got some leftover, but I think next time, it'll work out cheaper to buy a bag of dried spearmint and a tea strainer online.

Hope that helps x

LucyLoopyLu · 09/12/2022 15:17

@HeathenPlayingHouse thanks that is really helpful 🙂 noted about starting the inositol gradually 😂

Springblooms08 · 09/12/2022 15:55

@LucyLoopyLu I suffered with the worst hormonal acne I've ever had for over a year after coming off the pill - I tried inositol but I didn't find it had any affect on my skin to be honest. I also tried spearmint tea but again I don't think it did anything unfortunately. It's not to say either aren't worth trying, as it's certainly not going to cause any harm. I bulk bought so much spearmint tea, it's lucky I actually enjoy it because I have a lot to get through!

My skin has basically entirely cleared up in pregnancy which I am beyond grateful for, and I plan to go back on the pill once baby is here as that was the only thing that has ever really worked for my hormonal acne.

dearhummingbirds · 09/12/2022 18:16

@Springblooms08
that’s great to hear. I’ve had ups and downs with adult acne since I came off the pill. Had some really annoying cystic acne a few months ago

I can only hope that if I get my BFP that my skin treats me nicely too 😂

I haven’t checked in for a little while. I hope everyone is doing well! I’m at CD11 of my second cycle, so next week will be a little busy I’m sure 👀 at least Christmas can keep my mind occupied during the TWW.

Congratulations on your arrivals @PinkButtercups

Springblooms08 · 09/12/2022 18:36

@dearhummingbirds my acne was cystic too, it was so painful sometimes that I couldn’t sleep on my side. I’ve been left with quite a bit of scarring from the last year but I am honestly beyond grateful that it has cleared up and I’m not having to deal with it at the moment. It sounds pathetic but it really controlled my every day life, what you do, who you see etc. Adult acne is no joke!!

LucyLoopyLu · 09/12/2022 20:26

@Springblooms08 I'm glad yours has cleared up now. I definitely agree it takes over your life. I've been off the combined pill for about 4 or 5 years now and it just gets continually worse. Unfortunately don't think I will be able to take it again because of migraines

LucyLoopyLu · 09/12/2022 20:39

@dearhummingbirds fingers crossed for you 🤞 at least there is time over Christmas to be busy and enjoy yourself then before you know it the TWW will be over!
I'm thinking the same for me, fertile window is next week so I will definitely be enjoying myself in the TWW and if no joy this cycle I think I may do dry January

PinkButtercups · 10/12/2022 02:25

Thank you everyone.
We got discharged yesterday (Friday) night. Back home now.

They both had a turn in the NICU and had quite a scary week. Autumn was in the NICU because she had poo in the waters and her gases were a little high so they popped her onto AB's to be sure.

Bodhi had an episode in the hospital out of the blue made a weird noise then vomited a green substance. I pulled him up really quick and pressed my emergency button and he went all blue. The midwives and NICU doctors were there within 15 seconds not even that. He then got transferred out for a scan as X-ray didn't look normal but thank fully the X-ray he had at a different hospital was fine and they bought him back the same night. The ambulance that transferred him were lovely and kept me updated all the way. I was in a hospital 1hr away from home to have the twins so had to get DP to come back over to go with Bodhi in the transfer.

The sounds of the alarm has really triggered me and the whole experience was very traumatic so the midwife has referred me to speak to someone.

Thank you all for the well wishes thought I'd quickly update before the next feed.

So blessed for my 3 babies ♥️.

Dreamingof3 · 10/12/2022 10:10

Oh gosh @PinkButtercups what a week! I'm glad you're all home now. I think speaking to someone about it all is a great idea and hopefully can help you heal a bit from the experience.

@PinkButtercups oh my word, sounds so scary. Thank you for keeping us updated. Think speaking to a counsellor is a really good idea as I'm sure they will be able to help you. What a good thing the doctors and nurses were there so fast. Sending you all lots of love and hope from now on you get lots of lovely happy snuggles with them both x 💕

dearhummingbirds · 10/12/2022 13:29

@Springblooms08 sounds exactly the same as what it’s been like for me. I’ve got some nice scarring too. Thinking about trying to get some microneedling to see if it can help.

@LucyLoopyLu my thinking, too. Dry January sounds like a great idea. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

@PinkButtercups I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had a such a scary and difficult week. I hope speaking to someone helps you with what you have experienced. And that you’re enjoying all the cuddles now you’ve got them home. 💛

Bananatoast123 · 10/12/2022 15:25

Hey all! I’m 12dpo! Not tested yet and got no symptoms either way… had a bit of acne since 8dpo and got super sore boobs but this has happened with a BFN before. Period is due tomorrow but I usually spot by tonight so we’ll see!! I might test tomorrow morning but I could just be having a 14 day LP this time!

@PinkButtercups oh I’m so sorry how difficult it’s been… I’m glad you’re getting someone to talk to! Try enjoy these precious moments as much as you can, and hopefully things get smoother for you and your babies xx

PinkButtercups · 10/12/2022 15:40

Thank you all.

Honestly the whole thing was very traumatic and I kept asking what I had done wrong. The NICU doctor said absolutely nothing and I'd actually done the right thing pulling my emergency alarm so quickly. It was the fact he was then rushed off and he had to have suction to pull out the bile acids and I was just stood there with Autumn and I felt so helpless.

I will be speaking to someone I'm just so great full my babies are all at home with me ♥️.

LucyLoopyLu · 10/12/2022 19:30

@PinkButtercups oh you poor thing. I'm sure the doctor was right and you did absolutely nothing wrong at all. Hope they are both doing OK now, take care of yourself too and take it easy as much as you can, you've been through a lot 💜

LucyLoopyLu · 10/12/2022 19:33

@Bananatoast123 fingers crossed 🤞 for you if you do test. Let us know how you're getting on!

Bananatoast123 · 10/12/2022 21:42

@LucyLoopyLu I will do! I’m not expecting it tbh… got both symptoms showing either side but can’t see why this month would’ve been our lucky one 😂 I’m refusing to test until Tuesday when I’d be 15dpo!

WingingIt09 · 11/12/2022 08:14

@PinkButtercups that sounds so scary, I'm glad all ok now and they're offering you counselling xx

Bananatoast123 · 11/12/2022 12:25

AF has started to come on… damn! Onto cycle 11! When will it happen?!? Not had a single BFP since we started this! It’s so hard not knowing if it’s chance or something wrong.

LucyLoopyLu · 11/12/2022 16:55

@Bananatoast123 so sorry 😞 I'm a couple of cycles behind you but I feel the same. The hope and then the disappointment repeated every month is hard

Hope you can so something nice for yourself tonight

Bananatoast123 · 11/12/2022 17:09

@LucyLoopyLu its so tough isn’t it, and then you have to dig even deeper to find hope again. My body has been fighting a cold of some kind for weeks now too so tonight I’m just finished 🤦🏼‍♀️😩 I’m going to see 2023 as a fresh start! We had a lot on in 2022 so maybe there’s a reason it wasn’t our year!

LucyLoopyLu · 11/12/2022 19:49

@Bananatoast123 I agree totally. Itell you what, 2022 can do one, it has been rubbish! Bring on 2023!
January BFPs 🤞 sounds pretty good

Bananatoast123 · 11/12/2022 20:05

@LucyLoopyLu 2023 is our year… starting with Jan 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Houseelf90 · 11/12/2022 21:56

Does anyone know how early a positive will show on a urine test at hospital?
I’ve got to go in tomorrow for some pre-op tests and they’ve said they’ll take a urine sample for a preg test but I’ll only be about 7dpo so I don’t think it’ll show? Or do they have really sensitive tests?
They have said they’ll do another the day of the op as well and I was planning to test a few days before that if AF hasn’t arrived. Op is when I’ll be 17dpo so should know by then!
