Finally realised that our previous thread was full 🤣 I hope no one minds me starting up a new one!

Can you believe it's been almost a year since this was all started up?!

Massive Congratulations and well done to you @PinkButtercups - what a trooper

My AF has finished now so back into the DTD, cycle day 7. We've got guests a plenty this fertile window so just having to be v quiet! Cycle 3 for me, but cycle 1 was a chemical and took cycle 2 off to recover from that and the myriad of illnesses my kid brought home from nursery that month. Fingers crossed for this cycle.

Bananatoast123 · 04/12/2022 22:28

@LucyLoopyLu I agree it is so so tough!!

So sorry to hear you’re onto cycle 9! I’m right there with you on how tough it is! I’m cycle 9 10 and not even a BFP but each cycle throws a whole host of different symptoms at me 🫣

I hope you’re doing okay! I tried the cough syrup last month and not luck! Did it again this month but because I actually had a bad mucus cough!! My EWCM was like barely there this month though so not sure it worked! I did a progesterone blood test last month on day 21/7 days before AF and it’s given me peace of mine that I am ovulating! It was only £30 on medichecks! Might help if you’re wondering or feeling anxious!!

@PinkButtercups congratulations! I hope you’re doing well and all is healthy xx

missmoosh · 05/12/2022 08:07

@PinkButtercups congratulations!!!!

I am 11DPO today, and holding out to test until AF is due. I have virtually zero symptoms, other than sore boobs, but that's normal for me at this stage anyway. So holding out verrrry little hope! 😔

Dreamingof3 · 05/12/2022 08:46

Congratulations @PinkButtercups 💓💙 I've been checking back for your update! Gorgeous names too! I hope you're all doing well xxx

Congratulations @PinkButtercups! lovely names!

TicklishMould89 · 05/12/2022 11:51

@LucyLoopyLu you have given me a good list of things to google! Haven’t ever heard of a cough syrup trick!

still BFN here this morning.

QQ all, and a daft one too I’m sure, but when do you start counting dpo from? I got a static smiley on the clear blue ovulation thingy on 23rd nov which was CD19. Today is CD31 and I had put it at 12dpo but a few things I’ve read this morning seem to suggest I’ve calculated it all wrong??! Help is greatfully appreciated!

also, my bfns have been on those little cheapy eBay jobbies so I guess could be wrong/still could be too early?

prepared for AF today/soon in any case, hopefully less deflating that way

Dreamingof3 · 05/12/2022 13:34

@TicklishMould89 not 100% on the clear blue tests but if the static is saying you're ovulation will be within 24hrs then I'd say cd20 is ovulation and 21 is 1dpo, then go from there

@PinkButtercups oh what lovely news, congratulations! Hope you're all doing well.

Hi and welcome @TicklishMould89. I'm not sure re. clear blue - I tracked my BBT so it was usually pretty clear.

@BethSuz27 You don't necessarily need to try anything new - but I know it can help to have a feeling of control.

@LucyLoopyLu you're absolutely not a downer, this is so tough and I'm just sorry you're finding it so difficult. I don't think you should try to put on a brave face for your husband though, he's in this as much as you (I know it's a different experience for the men). And you can always vent on here, that's what we're here for!

@Houseelf90 haha, definitely good to shake things up!

@Welshgal85 I definitely wouldn't pressure on yourselves to try to DTD - but maybe you could see it as a way to connect and relax together during your difficult week?

@DearieMeWhatsUp I'm sorry to hear about your chemical, sounds like taking a cycle to reset physically and emotionally was a good idea.

Bananatoast123 · 05/12/2022 16:36

Q for everyone… I’m 7dpo and had the onset sore boobs since 4dpo and now they’re uncomfortable! It usually starts around 7dpo and gets bad just before AF (I say this but it’s not been happened for 5 cycles but it used to happen every time before ttc) I really don’t want to overthink it happening way earlier but could be a sign or that I’ve miscalculated my O.

I only did an OPK on CD12 at 10pm and it was 0.7 and then in the morning of CD13 it ‘peaked’ at 1.19 and then by midday CD14 I was 1.14 so I’ve assumed I peaked during CD13… making ovulation CD14! I’m CD20 now and they are agonising to touch!

It feels too early for this to be a sign! Anyone else with a BFP have anything weird in their cycle like this?

WingingIt09 · 05/12/2022 18:54

@PinkButtercups what lovely news! Huge congratulations and well done you! Xx

lj2022 · 05/12/2022 19:33

@PinkButtercups so so happy for you and that everything went well 💙💖 enjoy your new additions and hope you're doing well x

LucyLoopyLu · 06/12/2022 15:05

@Bananatoast123 interesting about the medichecks tests, I have looked at those but I feel a bit squeamish about doing the samples. I did one of those before and the finger prick thingy was so brutal that my finger was bruised and sore for days and managed to get blood everywhere (sorry if tmi). I guess it's better than the needle alternative though 😂 how did you find yours? Was it OK?

I'm about to sign up to a health care plan with work for 2023 so I might as well wait til the new year on any tests now as I could potentially claim back some money.

Interesting that the cough syrup did nothing. Think I will still give it a go this time 🙂

Sorry no advice about the symptoms as I've never had BFP 😪 hopefully someone else knows?

LucyLoopyLu · 06/12/2022 15:08

@DesertSnow thank you lovely. I'm just getting a vibe from my husband that he doesn't really want to talk about it at the moment, it's not like he has pushed me away from talking about it (I know he wouldn't) but maybe me just saying the same things over and over aren't that great for him!

Bananatoast123 · 06/12/2022 15:47

@LucyLoopyLu this was me the first lot of finger prick tests I did but this one wasn’t too bad! I figured if you stab more of the middle of the top of your finger than near your nail it’s a bit easier to collect it!!

I looked into my works healthcare plan but it didn’t cover fertility so triple check! I had to read all the small print!

yes give it a go! I always think it can’t harm either!

Same I’ve never had a BFP to know 😅 I guess I’ll find out in a week!

DesertSnow · 06/12/2022 18:23

@Bananatoast123 sore boobs was definitely one of my first symptoms before my BFP, fingers crossed!

@LucyLoopyLu I get what you mean. However great they are, men just don't have quite the experience ttc as us women, and for us it tends to be more encompassing as it's our bodies, our fertile signs, us doing the research, us symptom-spotting. It's hard. Sending you positive vibes.

TicklishMould89 · 06/12/2022 20:18

Thanks for the welcome everyone 😃

@Bananatoast123 fingers crossed re: symptoms! It’s been a while but sore boobs was one of my first symptoms too from what I can remember!

just had a google of the medicheck things, I didn’t know such things existed! I think we’re considering a bit of an MOT after Xmas, considering the reversal, sperm check is probably worthwhile and I’d like to know what my body is up to, too!

CD1 again by the looks of it! Negative tests and the small bit of pink when I wipe is increasing along with the cramps. After being four days late I’m pretty down about it. Just ordered a bbt thermometer and some of those easy@home opks to try to make myself feel a bit better. Onto cycle 6 we go I guess 😔

missmoosh · 07/12/2022 08:26

Well I caved at 13dpo and tested... BFN ☹️☹️

missmoosh · 07/12/2022 13:03

Annnd AF arrived 😞😞 a day early too! At least the next cycle can start I guess!

Good luck to those of you in tww, hopefully this is your month!

LucyLoopyLu · 07/12/2022 16:47

@missmoosh oh no, sorry to hear about AF. Hope you're ok.

@DesertSnow you're right, I don't think it's the same. We are constantly tracking our own bodies, symptom spotting, and have all the hormonal changes every month. Even if they are 100% invested it's not as full on for them is it.

SarahShorty · 07/12/2022 16:58

@missmoosh thank you! My stims etc are coming at some point. It's CD15 for me today but I don't think we'll bother trying. The odds are so low for us and if (big IF) it's successful and makes it passed the 1st trimester, I lose about £500 and run the risk of having much more trouble getting a sibling for them, and I'd no longer qualify for the package I'm on by then. I'm so sorry the witch got you 😔My fingers are crossed for you in your new cycle.

LucyLoopyLu · 07/12/2022 18:26

@SarahShorty totally understand why you wouldn't want to try this cycle. Not just the money but also just taking control and having a plan must feel life a relief. Really hoping everything goes well for you whatever you decide x

missmoosh · 07/12/2022 19:36

@SarahShorty that's totally understandable, hopefully the break will help you feel better about everything too

I'm pretty gutted at the bfn this month, but trying to stay positive for the next cycle

DesertSnow · 08/12/2022 20:05

Sorry about AF @missmoosh and @TicklishMould89 - best of luck for the next cycle.

@SarahShorty that totally makes sense. Hope you're feeling more in control now you have a plan in place.

HeathenPlayingHouse · 09/12/2022 12:38

Massive congratulations @PinkButtercups! That's wonderful news, welcome to the world Autumn and Bodhi!

@BethSuz27 Hope you're ok after your bump in the car ❤️

Not much to report for me really, I'm currently on CD36. I was hoping AF would turn up naturally but was getting impatient so I started the Provera a few days ago. Of course I ended up taking a test before starting it just in case- still disappointing to see a BFN even when you know it's coming.

Im back on inositol and will be taking EPO once AF shows up. Also, I must be mad given the time of year, but I got back on Keto again- took a sneak peek this morning and I've lost 5lbs since Monday 🎉

DP has joined me on it as well, our plan is to relax for 3 days between 25th-27th as we'll be with family, but hopefully just not go overboard. I'm determined to lose at least 2 stone, since I saw the fertility doctor in June (who, of course, said lose weight) and she said she'd see me again in 6 months- I know the appointment probably still won't be for a while given it's the NHS, so I'm trying to prepare for it 😂

Wow, I waffled on a bit there, didn't I? Hope everyone is well ❤️

LucyLoopyLu · 09/12/2022 13:10

Hi @HeathenPlayingHouse, wow well done on the keto commitment, must be so much harder this time of the year. Good plan relaxing it when you're with family though, make sure you have a lovely time and still be able to join in 🙂

How long have you been trying now altogether? Do you know what the plan will be if you do need to go back to clinic after 6 months?
