Hey all

I thought it would be nice for us to have a thread to discuss symptom spotting, early symptoms and early test pictures (if you are someone who likes to test early)

I am currently 5 DPO, TTC Baby #1 with my amazing partner after a miscarriage back in March.

I'm going out for some drinks on Thursday and will be 8DPO - I obviously won't drink if there's any sign or symptom that I may have conceived so I'd like somewhere to discuss any potential symptoms and everyone else's experience.

Please join me on this thread and let's symptom spot and chat together 🤍

God and it's making me so self absorbed I didn't even extend love back to you @ElleBelleLou I hope you're doing ok and I'm sorry you're feeling the same way. How many cycles are you on now? I feel preoccupied with it almost all of the time, is it the same for you? Flowers

monsteramunch · 06/11/2022 10:39

@ScarletDreams that's a lovely line Flowers

ScarletDreams · 06/11/2022 11:06

@monsteramunch thank you.
I am so sorry to hear that you are feeling so low about it all at the moment, fingers crossed that you get some positive news soon xx

ElleBelleLou · 06/11/2022 14:45

@monsteramunch bless you, it really can get you down like nothing else i find - especially when it seems so easy for everyone else!!

This is my 12th month of TTC, though i did take a month or so break in the middle for my mental health after my miscarriage in Feb. It's hard because part of me thought well I conceived then so I can do it again, but then I lost it and haven't had anything since so it does make me question whether it ever will happen.

I am sorry to hear you're struggling with it this month - hopefully a lucky December for us both? 🤞🏻

I am now 11DPO, fairly sure I'm out as BFN on the test this morning, but I am currently in bed after throwing up yet again and having the absolute worst nausea.

I have had this for the last 4 days at least, either being sick or really struggling through nausea and it feels really unfair when this isn't my cycle! Why give me symptoms but not a BFP! I'm just having a bit of a moan.

So so sorry you’re feeling poorly and having a hard time @ElleBelleLou hoping for you that you get that BFP and if not, next cycle is yours! 💕

@monsteramunch hope you’re looking after yourself and are feeling a bit better ❤️

ElleBelleLou · 07/11/2022 19:28

Well that's me waiting for my December cycle for try number 13! Congrats to those with BFPs 🥰 and hopefully some more BFPs to come for the rest of us xx

I'm so sorry for your earlier loss lovely

You've been so supportive on this thread, I really appreciate it.

Sorry to see that you're out for this month, I think I'll be joining you in a matter of hours if my symptoms are anything to go by and hopefully December will be lucky for us both x

BakedBean2016 · 07/11/2022 19:57

@ElleBelleLou
it can get so disheartening can’t it, I had a miscarriage in July and thought the same as yourself, your also meant to be more fertile after a miscarriage so in August we dtd every day and that did it work, September we went for every other and that didn’t work, October we were every 2 and that didn’t work.
Got a telephone consult with GP tomorrow as we’ve going for over a year and I am now 39 so I know time isn’t on my side anymore.
I wouldn’t be offered fertility help because of my age ☹️

monsteramunch · 10/11/2022 09:47

How did your consultation go @BakedBean2016?

I had all my period symptoms (cramps, skin breakouts, backache, tiredness, grumpy) other than bleeding on the day my period was due and the three days following. But negative tests including yesterday (three days late).

Now four days late, period symptoms have gone and still no bleeding. But as I had a negative test yesterday which was 15DPO, I'm assuming it's on the way.

So frustrating 😞

BakedBean2016 · 10/11/2022 09:51

@monsteramunch
i need to wait another 5/6 months before they will start any investigations. As I miscarried in July it should be from the date of your miscarriage.
he didn’t seem too concerned tho so we will just need to keep trying.
Oh how annoying to have a negative test, how long do you tend to bleed for?
sometimes mine can be over in a day and anything up to 4 days

monsteramunch · 10/11/2022 10:20

@BakedBean2016

I'm so sorry about your miscarriage, this is such a tough journey isn't it?

I usually bleed for 5-7 days (ugh!) during my period. It's four days late now and no blood at all, just all the other symptoms of a period and (tmi) milky discharge.

I hate how it's probably going to arrive today I guess but until it does we hold onto a tiny bit of hope.

ElleBelleLou · 10/11/2022 14:03

@monsteramunch sorry to hear your period is giving you the mess around! I swear our bodies play tricks on us knowing we're TTC.

@BakedBean2016 I'm jealous yours can be over in a day - I usually bleed for 8 or more days 😩 I'm glad your consultation went okay and there were no major concerns - hopefully your next cycle will be your lucky one.

My AF is due in 3 days but I'm pretty sure it's starting early today - (TMI but) blood when I've wiped a few times, though not the horrendous cramps and other symptoms I usually get so maybe it'll be lighter for me.

Hi everyone! Can I join please?
Currently about 7dpo according to my app (but not 100£ sure if that's correct) and over analysing everything 🙈😆
When's the best time to try a FRER? X

ElleBelleLou · 15/11/2022 08:20

@peaky297 welcome! with my pregnancy in February I had a positive on a FRER from 8DPO, but that was very early! I think 10DPO would be a good time x

Guys I'm so sorry to bring the mood down but I'm really, really struggling. Feel almost panic attack levels of anxiety this isn't going to happen for me. I don't know what I'll do if tests show it's not possible, I can't bear the thought of it. Having blood tests and semen analysis in the next month or so. Terrified.

AnotherStory23 · 15/11/2022 09:55

@monsteramunch try to stay calm and avoid predicting the future. I too have moments of panic like this, but I found that you just have to stay in the moment. I know it's trite to say but do some breathing and maybe some mindfulness. I guarantee you'll feel better if you just think about today

monsteramunch · 15/11/2022 11:46

Thanks @AnotherStory23 really appreciate you responding. It feels lonely sometimes this even when you have a brilliant partner.

I think it's this horrible feeling (that I know isn't true!) as the woman that my body is sort of betraying me / us or letting me / us down.

Which isn't how I would ever describe anyone else's body if they are TTC for a long time or if they are infertile (and equally would never describe a man who had a low sperm count for example) so I don't know why I feel that way about my own body. Something for me to unpick there maybe.

peaky297 · 17/11/2022 10:12

Argh I just need a rant. After a clear blue test did me dirty last week with an evap line, I've felt exhausted the last 2 days, headaches, bloating and bouts of nausea. AF due in 6 days - did a first response this morning and its a BFN 🙈
Emotional rollercoaster!

ElleBelleLou · 17/11/2022 14:47

@peaky297 ah bless you - that was me my last cycle (when I started this thread) so nauseous, vomiting, so many symptoms then nothing until an absolute monster AF arrived.

Hopefully the next cycle is the one for you!

My AF finished yesterday so here's to a December BFP for us both xx

BakedBean2016 · 17/11/2022 15:32

@monsteramunch
I understand it’s easier said than done to ‘relax’ and try and be calm about it.
When we were trying with our first we went past the year point and I was so low, I then went in for a blood test and an internal scan and ‘rummage’, horrible experience I won’t lie about that.
Hubby went through semen analysis and it was fine and my tests were clear, we’re then told to wait another few months for referral for next steps.
Fast forward 2 months and we were celebrating Christmas and New Year, I drank New Years Eve and had a laugh.
Come beginning of January the BFP was a total surprise.
I felt just like you when I was referred for tests, I honestly was expecting them to come back and say there was a problem but luckily they didn’t.
Don’t be disheartened, it’s really tough and some of us get thrown real curve balls along the way but there are always options available.
We are TTC with no.2 and we are at the year point of trying but only 4 months since MC so docs won’t do anything for another 6 months

peaky297 · 18/11/2022 14:17

@ElleBelleLou thank you! My AF isn't due til next week, so still holding out some hope, though I think it's likely false hope 🙈
I really do feel odd though, not like my usual pms symptoms at all 🤷‍♀️

A December BFP would make for a wonderful Christmas gift 🎄❤️

monsteramunch · 18/11/2022 19:26

Thank you so much for such a lovely post @BakedBean2016 it really helps to hear from people who have been through the same and come out the other side. I'm so sorry for you MC and got everything crossed that 2023 is the year for you Flowers
