Hey all

I thought it would be nice for us to have a thread to discuss symptom spotting, early symptoms and early test pictures (if you are someone who likes to test early)

I am currently 5 DPO, TTC Baby #1 with my amazing partner after a miscarriage back in March.

I'm going out for some drinks on Thursday and will be 8DPO - I obviously won't drink if there's any sign or symptom that I may have conceived so I'd like somewhere to discuss any potential symptoms and everyone else's experience.

Please join me on this thread and let's symptom spot and chat together 🤍

@thelma57 I hope you get a BFP but remember if you don't it's still early days! 🤞🏻

I'm at the completely irrational point of my cycle where I feel the need to take a test every time I see regardless of anything logical 🤣 I haven't tested though since yesterday morning so I am proud of myself!

Couldn’t help myself - a completely pointless EVENING WEE 7DPO test 🤣 Obviously a BFN so I’ll assume the same for tomorrow.

If you guys were me, would you risk a drink or two tomorrow night (I’m out with friends) or would you stick to soft drinks?

Hey @ElleBelleLou gosh we’re so alike with testing, although I have been a bit better this cycle!

Absolutely have a drink! It’ll help you chill out and even if you are still due a BFP it’s so so early it won’t do harm!

thelma57 · 03/11/2022 06:52

Used my frer this morning and I think this is it 🥹🥹🥹

It came up right away and is pink, I’ve cried so so much this morning 😭

10DPO so so early, AF is due in 4 days, i’m terrified but so so happy 😭😭😭

Thank you both so so much, I can’t believe it, I have felt different but after so many months symptom spotting you start to think you’re going mad! I’m still away with work and fly home tonight, going to test in the morning and then tell DH 🥹 Did a cheapy boots one too as soon as I saw the frer, what’re we like 🤦‍♀️

@ElleBelleLou how’re you feeling this morning? X

ElleBelleLou · 03/11/2022 07:44

@thelma57 how are you going to tell your DH have you planned anything special for it? I'm feeling completely normal to be honest - feeling like this may not be my month after call! x

Don’t give up hope @ElleBelleLou my only real symptom that I don’t normally have before AF was my sore boobs and I know loads of people don’t notice anything 🤞

I’m not sure, it was our wedding anniversary last weekend and I forgot to get him a card 😂 So I might get him a belated one but put a test in, only if it’s darker tomorrow though!

ElleBelleLou · 03/11/2022 07:51

@thelma57 oh i love that idea! I love a good announcement I daydream about telling my DP and my parents - it will be their first grandchild 🥰

I did feel a bit crampy last night in a very specific part rather than general cramps which was strange - we'll see what happens! x

Joining if possible! What are the best early tests to use? I am getting a load of symptoms, more intense than usual PMS symptoms. I am due AF tomorrow, and did a cheapy CO-OP test this morning but was BFN. Probably should wait for AF tomorrow, but I am impatient as these 'symptoms' aren't like my usual PMS ones...

ElleBelleLou · 03/11/2022 08:36

@winterbabyrose welcome! first response early result (FRER) are good early on - they're quite sensitive compared to other tests so tend to pick up a positive earlier! i'll keep my fingers crossed for you x

A bit TMI potentially but if you can't put it on mumsnet where can you put it - I'm having a higher than usual amount of discharge for this point in my cycle, like creamy white through my knickers!! Has anyone else had that - could it be a symptom?

thelma57 · 03/11/2022 09:20

Me @ElleBelleLou ! At the weekend and the beginning of this week, it was noticeable on my knickers and a couple of times I could feel it. So hopefully a good sign!!! 🤞🤞🤞

Aaaah congratulations!!! Flowers

I have exactly the same today - thought it was my period starting early before I looked and it was white! I'm 9DPO - how about you?

ElleBelleLou · 03/11/2022 10:23

@thelma57 ahhh i hope it is a good sign!! honestly driving myself crazy symptom spotting but i can't help it 🤣

@monsteramunch I'm glad it's not just me! I'm 8DPO today and noticed it yesterday but very very noticeable today! Not something I usually have to this extent in my previous cycles!

Hi all, hoping I can join 😊
I'm 7dpo today according to my app. There is a slight chance I ovulated earlier than app predicted so I could be 8dpo.
Today I have had some light brown discharge, yesterday I had some light pink and the day before that some brown. Could this be implantation or is it still too early? Sounds too early, but I don't normally spot in between.. I had been feeling nauseous Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and sore boobs. Today still sore boobs but not feeling nauseous so far, it's been worse after eating though. And I have had a lingering mild cramping since Monday with the odd pinching/shooting pain. I have a do to go to on Saturday which I will be 9 / 10 dpo, I feel like I should test that morning but at the same time I'm aware it's still very early 🤔

ElleBelleLou · 03/11/2022 10:29

@ScarletDreams welcome! seems like we're at similar times in our cycles!! I don't think that's too early for implantation, some women definitely can implant at 5 - 6DPO. Your symptoms all sound very positive! I think you could test Saturday - do you have any FRER tests? I was showing a positive on an FRER from 8DPO with my pregnancy in February so hopefully you'd see a hint of a line (though worth noting of course it is still early so don't rule yourself out if it's not a BFP at that point) x

@ElleBelleLou thank you for the warm welcome 😊 its definitely helpful to find a group of people at a similar stage of the tww! What cycle is this for you? This is only cycle one for me , so I really don't want to get my hopes up, but I never remember getting any of these symptoms at this point in my cycle previously.
I will test Saturday morning, just in case. I dont have any frer no, I only have some easy@home ones. No idea if they're meant to be any good or not but I'm using the ovulation tests of the same brand and they have been ok so far.

monsteramunch · 03/11/2022 20:04

Argh 9DPO and this evening the pains are really feeling exactly like the ones I get the day before AF. But AF not due for another four days and is never usually early.

Because the pain is so similar I keep thinking maybe AF has started but (sorry TMI) but it's just quite heavy discharge, which I never usually get.

Determined not to test until AF is due.

Trying not to get too down and hold onto hope a bit. Ugh. It's so draining all this isn't it?

ElleBelleLou · 03/11/2022 22:00

@ScarletDreams this is cycle 6 of officially trying but we've been TTC for 12 cycles now :)

hopefully the symptoms are a good sign! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you on saturday 🥰

OP posts:
ElleBelleLou · 03/11/2022 22:01

@monsteramunch it really is draining! I've had stone stabbing pains tonight they've been really unpleasant god knows what that could be but as per usual I'm sat here googling to see if it could be a positive sign!

OP posts:
ElleBelleLou · 03/11/2022 22:03

So all, ahead of my night out tonight I bought a new dress, new shoes, new bag, new eyelashes - even a new lipstick!! - spent ages getting all dolled up, went to meet my friends, drank three sips of a desperados before my stomach turned and it came back out! 🤮

I'm now in the bath feeling very sorry for myself and the amount of effort I wasted for a night out that lasted 15 minutes.

I'm hoping it's a sign something could be happening (I'm not the worlds biggest drinker but I can definitely handle more than 3 sips of beer usually!!), or it's horrendous timing and I'll continue feeling sorry for myself 🤦🏻‍♀️
