@NatGee my RHR never dips before ovulation. It goes up a little bit 2-3 days before ovulation (Google says this is normal) then up a bit more day of ovulation (day after peak) then up again day after ovulation then up a bit more every few days until starting to drop a couple days before AF but really slowly and doesn’t go below ovulation RHR until the middle/near end of AF. This cycle was weird as was all as normal until it stayed exactly the same as the after ovulation rise until today when it went up a tiny bit more (but I’m 10dpo today and that’s always my highest reading before it starts going back down). Good that it stayed up but was weird it didn’t keep rising by 1bpm every 3 days or so which is what usually happens

EdinburghGirl1 · 13/09/2022 16:35

Hi ladies just checking in as you've got a new thread.

@NatGee oh no poor you. Hope you're doing ok now and it doesn't interfere with your cycles.

Hope you're all doing ok during tww those who are in it. @allgoodthings84 keeping fingers crossed for you for next few days

@MrsU2022 congratulations. You could order pizza and write it on the box? Or on a cake or something? Is this your first?

allgoodthings84 · 13/09/2022 17:28

@EdinburghGirl1 i hope things are going well with you?

I’m definitely thinking I’m out this month for other various reasons though but good to know for next cycle

LucyFraser1981 · 13/09/2022 19:36

Ahhh congrats @MrsU2022 πŸ₯³

Thanks for the birthday wishes all, bit of a non-event having a birthday on a school day, especially with my partner not here πŸ˜• but I saw my parents, had cake, and now I'm going to put my favourite pizza in the oven 😁

Had really weird symptoms today (4dpo) - sorry for perhaps tmi, but my outer labia/vulva feels very sensitive, almost tender, and heavy? Best way ibcan describe it, but it's totally new, I don't usually have this, so no idea what that is. Can't possibly be pregnancy related at 4dpo can it? Google isn't coming up with anything πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

allgoodthings84 · 13/09/2022 20:11

@LucyFraser1981 sounds a lovely day and you can celebrate with your partner soon. I’m not living with my partner at the moment either but will be. It definitely makes it a bit more awkward getting to dtd in the right days. I think 4dpo would be too early for pregnancy symptoms as too early for implantation but I also thought you can’t implant if you having spotting before AF so what do I know πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ πŸ˜‚

MrsU2022 · 13/09/2022 20:13

Thanks all, I opted to do homemade pizzas and wrote out 'I'm pregnant' on it 🀣

Sending love and positivity to you all x

NatGee · 14/09/2022 13:13

@LucyFraser1981 I have heard of full, swollen vulvas as a sign of pregnancy. But I agree, 4dpo does seem far too early. Must be the progesterone, which if indeed high, is also a good sign :)

NSx · 14/09/2022 14:11

Good afternoon ladies 🀍 how are we doing ?

allgoodthings84 · 14/09/2022 14:38

@NSx I’m still lightly spotting but back to my normal pre AF spotting so very light nothing left on liners etc. My RHR went up again today which is unusual as normally goes down on 11dpo not up unless I ovulated a day later but that would mean the spotting started on 7dpo (after dtd). My RHR has been weird this cycle though, nothing like previous cycles. It went up after ovulation as usual but stayed exactly the same until 9dpo so I thought maybe no rise in progesterone (why spotting started early after dtd maybe) or didn’t ovulate properly but it went up by 1bpm yesterday and another 1bpm today at 11dpo. I don’t think I’m pregnant as I have all my usual pre AF feelings it’s just been a very weird cycle

allgoodthings84 · 14/09/2022 14:38

@NSx how are you?

NatGee · 14/09/2022 15:35

@allgoodthings84 have you tracked your rhr for long? mine has been really high for the last few days too, has gone even higher today. very strange.

@NSx all good here, CD11 today managed to get a dtd sess ,
Well my CB turned static for some bizarre reason, expensive piece of crap. how about you, hows your day going?

NSx · 14/09/2022 15:44

@allgoodthings84 thats unusual but you just never know. I know you like to expect the worst to avoid disappointment but who knows - when is Af due for you?
@NatGee when do you normally get your static? I ovulated cd15 this month instead of 14 so I think I may have a 29 day cycle this month (last month was 28) I’m 1dpo today πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… my temp rose today so I’m hoping it continues and confirms ovulation.
that’s good you’re getting the DTD in - we have DTD for the last 6 days inc today πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

I’ve been keeping an eye on RHR - mine rose yesterday which would have been ovulation? And is still up by 1bpm today - but I’ve had a very chilled day today as I’m off work so not sure if that affects it.

allgoodthings84 · 14/09/2022 15:50

@NatGee only last 3 cycles actively but I’ve got it recorded for last 4 years on my Fitbit which I’ve looked back at and it always follows the same pattern. The readings vary cycle to cycle slightly as other things affect RHR (like temperature outside, if you’re a bit under the weather, alcohol and so on just like bbt) but the pattern has always been exactly the same until this cycle. It always goes up at ovulation then up again day after then every 2-3 days up by an extra 1bpm until peaking 10dpo then going back down 1bpm 11dpo and another 12dpo then AF 13dpo then keep going down until back to pre ovulation levels.

allgoodthings84 · 14/09/2022 15:52

@NatGee what dpo are you? Mine always keeps climbing until 2 days before AF (11dpo) then slowly starts dropping. Apart from this cycle. I don’t think I’m pregnant it’s just being weird

allgoodthings84 · 14/09/2022 16:02

@NSx I’ve got my normal pre AF boob feeling and had a lot of cramping when the spotting started. I don’t know, it just all feels the same as usual before AF. I can’t wrap my head around how I could spot in a cycle and be pregnant even though I know it’s possible. I guess I feel like it will never happen for me. I can’t shake the feeling that there’s something wrong with me which will stop me from being able to conceive

RHR is only measured when you’re at rest so when the device thinks you’re not doing anything. It’s not counted when your heart rate goes up along with movement etc. that’s what I’ve read. So it’s usually measured overnight then can occasionally adjust in the day time if you’ve been at rest lots.

allgoodthings84 · 14/09/2022 16:04

@NSx so basically if you’re really active in a day it won’t make your RHR go up as it’s not resting. Oh and I’m due AF Friday, just realised I forgot to say

NSx · 14/09/2022 16:50

@allgoodthings84 I use my Apple Watch I don’t sleep with it so put it on first thing in the morning - it usually goes a lot lower on my days off because I sleep with it for a couple of hours as my partner goes to work - so I can spot a diff then but I just compare those days against each other to see if there’s a rise, if that makes sense.

Af is 2 days away - I have my fingers crossed for you, hoping for a good outcome 😁

allgoodthings84 · 14/09/2022 17:00

@NSx ahh mine is my Fitbit so records overnight at rest. I’ve just preordered the new Fitbit versa. I love my Fitbit versa I wear it all the time for the last 4 years unless it’s charging. I have the original versa at the moment so will be lovely having a new one. It’s worth it to me as I wear it 24/7. This new one also measures skin temperature which is meant to be another way to check ovulation has happened. I think the Apple Watch does that too.

allgoodthings84 · 14/09/2022 17:03

@NSx it would be lovely. I’ve got doughnuts arriving though either to wallow with or celebrate with

HoneyPea · 14/09/2022 17:09

@NSx @allgoodthings84 I've always though RHR relates to conception. I had a chemical pregnancy in July and knew it was definitely over when I saw my RHR starting to drop. I am 12dpo today and I got a BFP yesterday and my RHR has continued to rise.

allgoodthings84 · 14/09/2022 17:11

@HoneyPea congratulations! in general how much does your RHR rise?

HoneyPea · 14/09/2022 17:20

@allgoodthings84
On average from around 63/64bpm up to 72/73dpm usually starts to dip 1 day before AF.
Currently at 72bpm and praying it doesn't dip tomorrow which is 1 day before AF is due. When I had my chemical it hovered around 72/71 before I bled and it jumped down to 69 instantly.

allgoodthings84 · 14/09/2022 17:29

@HoneyPea similar to mine but mine usually starts at 56/57 and goes to 64/65. Mine usually starts slowly dropping on 11dpo (2 days before AF) but this cycle went up today at 11dpo but my RHR has been weird since a few days after ovulation so I don’t think it means anything this time. I’ll find out for sure in 2 days when AF is due but I’m not expecting anything as I’m spotting and having the normal pre AF feelings

NSx · 14/09/2022 21:35

@allgoodthings84 @HoneyPea I really think that a Fitbit is better for RHR I think if I slept with my watch on it would record better, but I don’t know how I would manage that πŸ˜‚ I like to take it off

allgoodthings84 · 14/09/2022 22:03

@NSx it took some getting used to at first and if I’m honest I prefer not wearing it at night but it records better when I do wear it overnight. I like seeing my sleep too. I can’t wait for my new one to arrive 2 weeks tomorrow! Think it might be just after my next ovulation though but shouldn’t be an issue as they link to the same account on my app so will just follow on. I don’t think I’ll set up my skin temp thing until the following cycle though as you have to put in a baseline temp for it to compare with so no good doing that after ovulation really as then won’t show the rise. I think that’s how it works anyway. Annoying it will take 2 weeks though ha ha
