@allgoodthings84 ah fabulous, so glad it's all progressing nicely. Try not to worry and enjoy this time as a soon to be mummy! AF arrived for me today, right on schedule. Roll on cycle 9 sigh lol

NSx · 05/01/2023 15:37

Hello girls how u all doing 🀍

@NatGee nice to see u back. Sorry that AF has come.
@allgoodthings84 glad things are progressing nicely for you πŸ’–

I think I’m ovulating today; so nothing much to report lol x

allgoodthings84 · 05/01/2023 15:47

@NatGee I’m sorry AF has arrived 😞 it will happen

@NSx thank you. Taking it day by day hoping for the best. There’s no reason for me to be worrying apart from the previous losses. ooo get dtd πŸ˜‚ I’m driving my partner crazy as I’m too scared to dtd at the moment as I know I bleed easily when cervix is sensitive so it will only make me worry

NSx · 05/01/2023 16:08

@allgoodthings84 i saw you got engaged - congrats I hope he got u a gorgeous ring 🀍

we DTD yesterday morning & I will go again after work, πŸ˜‚ not hopeful - I never am. I’m sick of this lol

you will be fine, relax a bit 😊😊😊

NatGee · 05/01/2023 16:19

@allgoodthings84 ohh you got engaged? Sorry I missed that CONGRATULATIONS again! 2022 was a good year for you in the end πŸ’ƒ

@NSx yeah, I've returned, had to give mumsnet a bit of a break, all the bfps and talk of ttc was bringing me down a little. What cycle are you on now? It's cycle 9 for me, but I had an anovulatory one in September so I don't know if that counts?

NSx · 05/01/2023 16:30

@NatGee i get that, I haven’t been as active recently on here tbh, for same reasons. But it kind of draws you back in πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ this is cycle 7 but technically 8 months after my loss sooooo… 7/8 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
I’m not hopeful at all I just think if it was going to happen it would have by now 😩😩 my partner has a sperm analysis on 09/02 so kinda just looking forward to that to see if it shows anything. X

allgoodthings84 · 05/01/2023 16:41

@NatGee @NSx my friend took nearly 2 years to conceive her first and had all the tests and nothing wrong with either of them. When they ttc their second it happened right away and twins! It is all luck which cycle you conceive on as annoying as it is 😞

this is my ring

NatGee · 05/01/2023 16:45

@NSx yes its good to get your partner checked too however since youve already conceived its unlikely there is anything wrong with either of you. Good to check anyway!

@allgoodthings84 that is one gorgeous ring, did he pick it all on his own? He did very well if so. Hope you like it?

NSx · 05/01/2023 16:47

@allgoodthings84 i won’t be ttc for 2 years cos I will be in a mental asylum by then πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
it is the luck if the draw and honestly it’s not fair.
gorgeous ring πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– congrats again

@NatGee well you would think there’s nothing wrong, but u just don’t know: it will give me peace of mind if nothing more.

NatGee · 05/01/2023 16:53

@NSx crossing my fingers for you. My husband had his sperm checked very early on - we just went to a clinic and paid for it rather than wait on the NHS. Do you get the results stragiht away?

NSx · 05/01/2023 17:06

@NatGee yes well I think you get them pretty fast. In the surgery I work in results come back within the week 🀞 they test the sperm straight away, it’s not a lengthy process
well I’m hoping to make a baby this cycle πŸ˜‚ but it’s a long shot πŸ˜…πŸ˜… x

allgoodthings84 · 05/01/2023 19:34

@NSx yep it really isn’t fair I agree. Some people have multiple kids they don’t even want and no miscarriages and it really seems unfair. I don’t blame you getting his sperm checked. If we unlucky enough lose this pregnancy too then I’ll be sending my partner off to have his checked so we can be referred as that’s the first thing they always do anyway after a wait.

@NatGee yep he picked it himself. I bet he spent ages choosing as he’s really indecisive and wouldn’t have wanted to pick one that I didn’t like. I saw him looking in jewellery shop windows over the Black Friday sales so I wasn’t completely surprised but I was surprised at what a lovely ring he picked as I always thought he would go more simple like a solitaire. I think he wanted something completely different to my ring from my ex husband and I’m so pleased as I wouldn’t want it alike either

NatGee · 02/02/2023 16:36

Hello everybody - how are you all doing? Thought I'd check up on you to see what updates you had, if any? Hope you are doing well

allgoodthings84 · 02/02/2023 17:00

Hi @NatGee how are you doing?

how’s everyone else? @NSx @LucyFraser1981 @pomdownunder1 and everyone else here

I’m 11 weeks now by my LMP (well last chemical but counts the same way). I have my nhs dating scan on the 15th when I’ll be 12+6 but I know it’s more like 12+3 as I ovulated later this cycles because of the chemical. I’m really nervous about it in case something is wrong or a missed miscarriage but I just got to hope for the best. I had a private scan at 9 weeks and everything was perfect from what they could tell at that point. Saw a strong heartbeat on the little bean and measuring as expected at that point (3 days less than my LMP but I ovulated 3 days later than the CD14 they go by).

NatGee · 02/02/2023 19:36

@allgoodthings84 hey! Ahhh how glad am I to hear your 9 week scan went well. Im sure it put your mind to rest, think back to that day when you begin to feel anxious; all is well!
We're heading into cycle 10 and continue to smep. Did all the nhs tests (bloods plus internal scan) and even though all is well by their parameters we will now be referred to a specialist. Fingers crossed eh

Matildahoney · 05/02/2023 09:19

Hi all, I'm new to SMEP, do you only BD once on the days you should BD? Thanks!

NatGee · 05/02/2023 16:57

@Matildahoney Hello there I don't think the protocol specifies how often in a day you should BD. in my opinion more is more, if you have the stamina and willingness to get a few more sessions in then it shouldn't do any harm.

allgoodthings84 · 05/02/2023 19:32

@NatGee hopefully things will be all good 😊. Fingers crossed this will be your cycle. It will definitely happen.

@Matildahoney we never did it more than once in a day as would have been too much cycle after cycle for us but I imagine as long as your partner has good sperm quantity/quality that it wouldn’t hurt. It isn’t needed though if you’re only doing it to conceive not because you want to

Matildahoney · 05/02/2023 23:19

@NatGee @allgoodthings84 I didn't know because it says every other day whether it was to do with sperm quality, and if not why not just do it every day?! No we definitely want to do it more than once a day & every day!

NatGee · 06/02/2023 07:28

@Matildahoney independent of smep, there is something to be said about sperm quality, how it is best for it to replenish. Id heard of it here and looked it up on google, however if your partner is young and virile im not sure it matters as much compared to an older man. But I speculate :)

allgoodthings84 · 06/02/2023 07:35

@Matildahoney try what you want and how you want for a few cycles see how it goes 😊

Matildahoney · 06/02/2023 08:36

@NatGee he's 38, docs have said his sperm count is ok, whatever that means!
@allgoodthings84 I miscarried at 12 weeks at end of sept, so just doing what we can to fall again! I'm 40 so not an easy process!
Thanks both for your advice x

allgoodthings84 · 06/02/2023 08:44

@Matildahoney if his spark count is ok then every day will be fine 😊. I’m sorry for your loss, I’ve had 2 early losses end of last year too and I’m now 11 weeks pregnant and terrified of losing again. I’m 38.

Matildahoney · 06/02/2023 09:04

Thank you @allgoodthings84 sending lots of baby dust your way. Hope it works out for you.

NatGee · 06/02/2023 10:13

@Matildahoney I am so sorry to hear of your miscarriage, how heartbreaking. I am 38 and in 9 cycles we haven't had a bfp yet. Many of the ladies on this thread are around our age so hopefully that'll help. Baby dust and luck to you xx
