@lj2022 love your Asda story! 😂I'm not sure about doing a digital in my case - because my LP is usually 7/8 days, I'm now 11DPO so if I wasn't pregnant AF would have turned up by now. So think I'm ok with relying on cheapies.

@dearhummingbirds I didn't test today - I think hcg only rises by noticeable levels every 2 days? So unless something changes I will probably do another cheapie tomorrow with FMU. Hopefully a clearer line. Welcome to your first TWW - exciting! Have you got some plans to keep yourself busy/distracted?

Ladies who are expecting and used to track BBT - when did you stop? I took mine this morning and it had dropped a little bit. Still high for me, but a fair bit lower than yesterday. I'm imagining that it flucuates and I can see any dips/drops sending me into a panic which obviously isn't helpful. Sure, BBT might indicate an imminent chemical or mc, but the knowledge won't actually make a difference to what happens and will just make me more anxious... Hard though, stopping something I've done every day for so long! What did you do? Did you stop when you tested positive, keep going for a bit...?

DesertSnow · 19/11/2022 17:41

@SarahShorty I have all my fingers crossed for you lovely.

BritishDesiGirl · 19/11/2022 18:08

I just purchased a babymad bbt from Amazon. Going to give it a this a go this month.

@DesertSnow l hoping that you will update us soon with some news ❤️

Jennifer89 · 19/11/2022 18:10

Is anyone else finding ttc journey harder with Christmas coming up? I hoped would have been pregnant by now, although only been trying few months so maybe not rational.
A friend of mine got pregnant straight away and I can't help feel a bit jealous.
All the festivities make me just want happy news more..
I do tend to enjoy new years eve however and will have a special wish for 2023.

Houseelf90 · 19/11/2022 18:38

@Jennifer89 yes!! I can’t help but look at all the lovely baby Christmas things! Granted we would never had a baby in time for this Christmas, but obviously can’t guarantee we will have one next Christmas either! Today we’ve been shopping and saw someone picking out a Christmas pyjama style onesie for her toddler, absolutely adorable! I couldn’t help but wish that we will be buying those things next year for a baby!!
I had also stupidly looked at some baby things to get my partner for Christmas before I had my chemical, he’s really into football so I was going to get a romper from his favourite team and a tiny England kit ready for next summer! 😩

LucyLoopyLu · 19/11/2022 20:32

@Jennifer89 hi, yes I am finding it harder thinking about Christmas and new year. I think it's adjusting to knowing that the plans I had in my head haven't happened. Last Christmas and new year I was determined to enjoy myself, hoping / expecting that this year I wouldn't be able to drink. Up until last AF I was still really hoping I would be pregnant and far enough along that it would be happy news to tell everyone, as it would be obvious to everyone if I don't drink. Now I'm revising all those hopes in my head.

I'm also bracing myself for spending Christmas with my pregnant relative. She and her husband started trying at the same time as us and got lucky first cycle, so it's difficult not to compare and feel jealous. I just really hope I won't be too upset. I also have very low tolerance with people complaining about their children and how much effort they are at the moment. I know parenting is not a walk in the park, it's not a logical reaction, I just find it hard to hear at the moment.

LucyLoopyLu · 19/11/2022 20:45

Forgot to update. Finally got my peak today (CD16) which is 2/3 days later than usual. Hopefully that just means it's an excellent egg 🤞
Have been DTD every other day and due today anyway, but will do today and tomorrow as well I think then I reckon we will be ready for a break. It's exhausting doing it to schedule

Because this is going to be a longer cycle, AF not due until 5th Dec, although next fertile window thankfully is up to 22nd December - hopefully no later as don't want to be worrying about it when we are stating with relatives

Jennifer89 · 20/11/2022 00:28

@Houseelf90 and @LucyLoopyLu
glad to hear it's not just me feeling it. Christmas time just sets more expectations. I had thoughts in my head already about sharing news with family around Christmas time.
You will always get these lucky people who get pregnant first try but then I know that is not the norm..
All we can do is have hope for the new year that we get some positive news then. 😊

Jennifer89 · 20/11/2022 00:29

Still some hope AF may not arrive in December but will try not get my hopes up like I did this month..

Houseelf90 · 20/11/2022 06:32

@Jennifer89 I should have been 12 weeks on 12th December and we are going away for a few days just before Christmas so I was planning on doing an announcement to everyone whilst we are away, we’re going to a lovely hotel that I went to a lot growing up, it would have made a lovely backdrop for some photos! That will be very hard and although I will still enjoy the break I know that will be on my mind, what we “should” have been doing if it wasn’t for my chemical!! I was looking forward to not having to hide it if anyone noticed I wasn’t drinking at any Christmas meals/parties! I’ll be over the moon if I get a BFP before Chris ham but it will be much harder when people ask why I’m not drinking!! I’m prone to tonsillitis so I will just go with the excuse of being on antibiotics I think but I know some will guess/won’t believe me!!

DesertSnow · 20/11/2022 11:16

@BritishDesiGirl I tested again today, 12DPO. I would say the line is a bit darker than it was 10DPO, but it's still very faint so am concerned about a chemical. Waiting for DH to wake up so I can get his opinion. I guess 12DPO is still early... but just would have thought it might be a bit darker by now.

Christmas is definitely a really tough time when ttc. If this is a chemical, or early MC before Christmas it will be incredibly hard. My husband went out with his family last night and the first thing his dad said to him is "when are you having a baby?" We've been married for 2 weeks... And I know there will be more of this sort of thing around Christmas. Praying this little one sticks.

Dreamingof3 · 20/11/2022 11:56

Keeping everything crossed for you @DesertSnow x

lj2022 · 20/11/2022 13:56

@DesertSnow my lines were very faint until around 16dpo even at that I didn't get my dye stealer until about 5 weeks! try not worry too much but that's easier said than done. Everything crossed for you 🤞

DesertSnow · 20/11/2022 18:47

@Dreamingof3 thank you, appreciate it.

@lj2022 thank you - that's reassuring. Just have to accept that it's somethig I have no control over so will try to relax. At this moment, I'm pregnant.

SarahShorty · 20/11/2022 20:09

@DesertSnow thank you xx And wishing you all best for this little bean xx

Houseelf90 · 20/11/2022 20:35

@DesertSnow progression is good!! Will keep my fingers crossed you get some more; will you continue to test?

krissy12 · 21/11/2022 10:36

Hi all

Hope it's okay to join your thread. We are ttc #2 , DS it took 12 months. This is only cycle 1 but I thought I had implantation bleeding last week 3 days of really light bleeding which then stopped (had this with DS) now today I have full on AF. had 3 BFN before today. has anyone had this before the random bleeding before AF

Jennifer89 · 22/11/2022 00:11

@Houseelf90 that must be hard, sorry to hear that. Hopefully we will have good news before Christmas so we have a good reason to avoid drinking. I think keeping people guessing would be part of the fun 😅

DesertSnow · 22/11/2022 08:26

@Houseelf90 thank you! Tested today at 14DPO - line is definitely darker than it was 12DPO but this is my first pregnancy so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for in terms of how dark the line is. Hopefully just progression is ok. Am 4w+3 today so still very very early. Hope you're doing ok?

@krissy12 welcome. Afraid I can't shed any wisdom but bodies are really weird and seem to sometimes just throw something new into the mix! I guess just see if it happens again and speak to doctor if concerned?

Houseelf90 · 22/11/2022 08:31

@Jennifer89 yes I quite like the idea of people guessing and not giving them a straight answer 😜
@DesertSnow I think progression is progression! There are a lot of women that get a positive and then don’t carry on testing, but just take it as pregnant!
I’m now 16dpo; AF was due Sunday but still nothing, but BFN yesterday! I’ll test again at the end of the week if AF doesn’t arrive in the meantime but I would imagine my cycle is messed up following my chemical, which means I probably didn’t ovulate when the flo app predicted in which case we probably didn’t DTD at the right time. Can’t change that now so just have to hope AF doesn’t wait too long and we can start again next cycle!

DesertSnow · 22/11/2022 08:46

@Houseelf90 yes true, I'm just super worried about a chemical (short luteal phase making my odds a bit higher). Trying not to be obsessive, so sticking to testing every other day and will only do so for a little bit as I only have a few tests left and won't buy more - all being well. This is such a nerve-wracking time.
Yes I wouldn't be surprised if the chemical has changed your cycle a bit - sorry if you've said before but do you track BBT? Might be helpful if you think your cycle has been thrown off so you can pinpoint ovulation. Or if feasible just try DTD every other day to catch it. Fingers crossed either AF shows up soon so you can get cracking, or doesn't show up at all! (I think you're meant to be more fertile in the cycle following a chemical?)

Houseelf90 · 22/11/2022 08:52

@DesertSnow it’s so difficult to know what to do isn’t it, I tested a few times before I had my chemical, basically until I ran out of tests too! Then had to buy more to confirm the chemical 😩 I will certainly be doing the same when/if I am lucky enough to get another BFP!
I don’t track anything at the moment, just my periods on the flo app which helped the month we conceived. But if I don’t get a BFP by the end of the year I will certainly do something - we just wanted to keep it as natural and stress free as possible.
I’ve read you’re supposed to be 17% more fertile after a loss and I also read only 2% of women have 2 losses in a row (not sure I believe this one). I am hopeful but I just think if I was then it should be showing by now!

DesertSnow · 22/11/2022 09:11

@Houseelf90 Yes taking a more relaxed approach is definitely a good idea! I ovlulate late and it varies a bit so found tracking helpful in my case. Those stats are interesting, thanks for sharing. Really hope you get your BFP soon. Is your luteal phase usually so long? Guess the chemical may have changed your cycle and you could have ovulated late. Our bodies like to keep us guessing don't they?!

Houseelf90 · 22/11/2022 09:18

@DesertSnow based on flo app predictions it’s usually 13/14 days which I think was right the month we conceived, I got a BFN at 13dpo, then spotting at 14, 15 and 16dpo and BFP also at 16 dpo (didn’t test at 14 & 15 dpo)
I guess to know for sure I really need to be tracking it better somehow, so will read up on BBT. If I can do it without other half knowing that will be better as he says he’s not sure how he will be able to perform knowing we are DTD because I’m ovulating, and not just because we want to enjoy it, and I can see his point; I’ve never been able to “plan” when we’re going to have sex!

DesertSnow · 22/11/2022 09:29

@Houseelf90 oh 100% re. planning sex - makes it all feel a bit clinical doesn't it? I was incredibly lucky that my fertile window this cycle coincided with our honeymoon so we were DTD every day - and probably would have been even if it wasn't my fw. So it felt more spontaneous. It's hard to put so much pressure on ourselves to DTD at the right time. I was tracking BBT and my OH didn't even notice as I get up before him and he's a deep sleeper. But you could try OPKs which are easier to do more subtly. Does sound like you may have ovulated a bit late this month based on your usual luteal phase... Or since you didn't get a BFP until later on before maybe it's just holding out on you! Fingers crossed!!
