Hi everyone ☺️

I am a bit eager with this thread, I've just started my dreaded period (feel a little glum to be honest!) and I have been ovulating quite late, so if by a miracle I am successful this month I would be due end of may/early June. I have been dipping in and out of these threads and found them fantastic support so I hope you don't mind me carrying on the trend!

I am going into cycle 4, I am 31 and were trying for our first πŸ‘ΆπŸ»I suffered a chemical pregnancy recently and I feel SO ready to become pregnant, I want this so badly, as I am sure you all do too!

I was trawling through some old threads and found these facts that I found useful , feel free to read if you like πŸ˜™

  1. 80% of couples having regular sex (2/3 times a week) with no issues will fall pregnant in a year.
  2. 90% of couples having regular sex with no issues will fall pregnant in two years.
3.Each cycle you have approx 20% chance of falling pregnant. 4.The egg only lives for 24 hours so very small window to fertilise it 5.Decent sperm can live up to 5 days inside you so good to have sex before you think you ovulate as well as after. 6.If using ovulation testing the test picks up on Lh surge which often happens after the egg has been released. 7.Most NHS CCG will not investigate fertility problems until you have been having regular unprotected sex for over a year and some places insists for two years. 8.If you track your Basel body temperature it can give you a good indication of when you ovulate to get to know your cycles.
  1. Some types of lube can damage sperm be careful what you are using. (We are using preseed but using it like normal lube, not inserting it prior!)

Wishing you all the luck in world for this cycle 🀞🀞🀞🀞🀞

@Mays12 i think I'm in a similar stage of my cycle, trying to tell myself that my cravings are just normal cravings πŸ˜‚

Mayfield87 · 31/08/2022 10:39

Hey can I join? I am TTC baby#2 and this will be our first cycle. I have hyperthyroidism this time around and have had to get my Thyroid levels stable before we were given the go ahead by my consultant. I've now come off my meds that are harmful if we did conceive and can begin trying this month (Sept). Affording to the app I am ovulating now but need to wait a couple of weeks to meds to be out my system (so probably joining at bit too early) but we will then be on for TTC. Very excited! Good luck to everyone and wishing everyone baby dust x

FieldView · 31/08/2022 15:02

So after teasing me with spotting the other day, AF has finally arrived. Cycle day 1 and ready to give it another go for another cycle.

Anyone else at the beginning of their cycle? I've lost track a bit with who's at what stage!

And welcome to the new joiners - hopefully there will be some bfps in September! 🀞🏻

MrsF111 · 31/08/2022 16:18

Hi everyone, please can I join! I’m 33 TTC #1 and in my second cycle following a break to get married, I’ve had 2 missed miscarriages, one in 2020 and one in 2021. Praying this is our time for a successful pregnancy and that this is the cycle πŸ™currently 3dpo I think!

Soph9601 · 31/08/2022 16:40

Hey everyone, I have been following for a few months now but thought I would join in this month if that is ok. I am currently TTC #1 and I am now starting cycle #4 on CD2. I did fall pregnant my first month TTC in June but unfortunately ended in a chemical which was hard to deal with. I am an avid POAS'er which I know is not good for me emotionally or financially but I cannot help myself haha!

Wow, thanks for doing that @Summerbreeze111!!

I really wish I'd thought of a better fact now haha!!

That’s a great list πŸ’œ

ttc #1 cycle 3 after losing my girl in feb at 17.5wks …
here’s to a new cycle and new chances for everyone 🀞✨ baby dust

anotherpotoftea · 31/08/2022 18:21

Thanks @Summerbreeze111!

Sorry all, have got a bit behind on the posts. Feeling a bit down after someone struck up a convo by asking if I had kids - who asks people that?!

Wishing you all much luck and baby dust.

cavebaby · 31/08/2022 18:21

Wow @Summerbreeze111 you're so organised!

@FieldView At least you have a fact! I'm not trying to think of a vaguely interesting fact about myself 🀣

anotherpotoftea · 31/08/2022 18:22

I’m so sorry to hear about those coming here after losses, also. Wishing much baby dust for us all πŸ’–

Summerbreeze111 · 31/08/2022 18:30

Just realised I was so set on adding everyone elses details I forgot to add my own! I am TTC#1, and on Cycle 4. Had a chemical pregnancy early on :( I think I am approaching my fertile period, loosely doing SMEP, but on day 4 of continuous BD yesterday and we both needed a break, so hopefully will try again tonight! My opk is 0.23 so still quite low, but getting slightly darker!

I don't know why but I feel a bit despondent with ttc this month, I know it is still early days for me, but I just don't feel very positive, and I am getting myself worked up that I am going to have another chemical so there would be no point getting excited even if I did get a positive test. Sorry for bringing the tone of the thread down, TTC is not easy :( I really do look forward to seeing others test positive, so if you do please share! hopefully it will provide me with more positive thoughts/ motivation too!

@Londonlady22 You are absolutely right, from my understanding the LH surge is before ovulation - and ov is usually approx 24-48 hours after a peak reading. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I obviously didn't read my own facts properly, doh!

OP posts:
Londonlady22 · 31/08/2022 18:33

@Summerbreeze111 that’s ok! Was just checking!! Didn’t want to be doing it wrong! Good idea to add details next to peoples names! I’m TTC #1 age 33 Cycle 3. I’m actually still in the running for a May baby, but hopping onto this thread as I don’t think we DTD enough during fertile window, currently 7/8 dpo.

Summerbreeze111 · 31/08/2022 18:35

oh @NSx I am so sorry for your loss, I honestly can't even imagine how hard it must have been to go through that. You are back here and should be proud of yourself, I am absolutely rooting for you. Please reach out to us all if you need any emotional support x

@anotherpotoftea ahh people just don't think, I have had so many comments recently from people when they hear of our engagement, its usually followed with 'oh babies will be soon?' or 'babies next then?', family members have also asked me recently when we are going to have a baby.... it isn't as easy as that!

@FieldView ahh don't worry - if you do think of something I will add it to the next update, I will probably give it another week so you have time! I also need to add my info to the list too..woops!

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 31/08/2022 18:44

@Summerbreeze111 wow that’s organised and very impressive! I’m ttc #2 but am 37 now (was 29 when I conceived my daughter, 30 when she was born). I’m no longer married to her dad and my partner has no children and we really want one together. I only ever thought I wanted 1 child but I think it was more I didn’t want more with my ex as I definitely really badly want another now.

I’m now on cycle 4 CD9. My cycles vary from 24-27 days but usually 26 days. I’m due to ovulate Saturday-Tuesday.

I keep thinking there’s something wrong with me as I spot before AF arrives (always starts CD10) so I have an initial doctors appointment next week to discuss

afinethingindeed · 31/08/2022 18:53

Wow thanks for putting that list together @Summerbreeze111

Sorry to hear you're feeling despondent. Sometimes you just have to take a break from it all.
I never realised how draining and consuming the whole thing can be to be honest. I hope you can find some positivity soon. Remember you have a great support network on here xxx

I'm interested to know what ovulation sticks everyone is using? I have some wondfo sticks but I never saw a peak this month. I probably could have been more consistent with testing but I'm thinking of buying different ones for next cycle. I'm not officially out this cycle yet but I don't have a good feeling so planning ahead!

LucyFraser1981 · 31/08/2022 19:02

Hello all, can I join you? I'm on CD2 of our fourth actively trying cycle, but we've been relaxed about it since November last year. I'm 41 in two weeks, partner is 41 in December. I have an 8.5 year old son from my first marriage. I chart my BBT, use OPKs, and massive overanalyse every thing, constantly research new information, and take a variety of supplements in hopes of catching a good egg! If my partner and I aren't successful by the Spring we'll start looking into IVF, but won't be able to afford it until we sell the house next year. Anyway, hello to you all! 😊

anotherpotoftea · 31/08/2022 19:25

@Allgoodthings1 I hope you can get some answers from the doc.

@afinethingindeed none yet as trying not to get too stressed about it all. I’ll crack soon though!

@LucyFraser1981 hello - I’m 41 and just starting TTC (long story). My GP has said they can investigate if we have no luck in 6 months rather than the usual 12 because of my age. Fingers crossed this is your lucky month!

allgoodthings84 · 31/08/2022 19:35

@afinethingindeed I use easy@home with the Premom app. I’ve not missed a peak and mine are quick surges so I think they are pretty good

@anotherpotoftea ooo it looks like there’s 2 of us on here with very similar usernames. I think you meant to tag me about the doc? Could be confusing πŸ˜‚. Hopefully she will agree to give me some blood tests at least to start. I’m only on cycle 4 so might not be any issues at all. I don’t know how long I’ve spotted before AF for. I didn’t know I did until last year when I had a smear test the nurse mentioned it but said it was so light it wouldn’t affect the test (it was fine I got results from it). Nothing comes onto knickers/liner so I wouldn’t notice if I didn’t look at the toilet paper as it’s so light so before I was aware of it I didn’t look at toilet paper ever when I wiped as had no reason to ha ha

LucyFraser1981 · 31/08/2022 19:37

@anotherpotoftea hello! Good to see another "geriatric" in here TTC! πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜…
That's good your GP will start investigations if needed, mine have said no help at all as I'm over 40 and already have my son. The only blood test they'll do is to check ovulation on day 22 (29 day cycle), so I've accepted that even though I'm fairly sure I'm ovulating okay as I do my BBT charts. I've actually arranged to talk to a fertility clinic next week to see about getting a few other blood tests to check egg levels etc. My grandmother had my Dad when she was 45 in 1951 (he was a massive surprise!), so hoping I've inherited her robust eggs πŸ˜…πŸ€ž

LavenderWillow · 31/08/2022 20:08

@FieldView I’m on CD2 today! I feel a bit like we have two TWWs, one lot before fertile window and the other after! πŸ˜‚

NSx · 31/08/2022 20:19

@Summerbreeze111 thank u πŸ’œ it’s very hard but I need to keep moving forward …
good days and bad days ❣️

Noggiepie92 · 31/08/2022 20:34

@Summerbreeze111 thank you for creating the awesome list, it's nice to see everyone who's in the same boat, in one place :)

Allgoodthings1 · 31/08/2022 20:34

My period or whatever the bleed straight after stopping the pill is called seems to be taking ages to stop. This is cycle day 9 and it’s not completely gone yet πŸ™„ Really hoping this is a 28 day cycle, everything has returned to normal and we can start trying end of September 🀞🏼 This is me playing it cool this time, I’m not even at the β€˜trying’ bit yet and I’m already constantly googling etc πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Mayfield87 · 31/08/2022 20:37

@Allgoodthings1 I'm exactly the same, just finished my bleed from the pill withdrawal. I've bought OPKs and have the apps but also wanted to play it cool and just see how it goes- I'm such a control freak though πŸ˜‚ I was the same when I was trying for DS1 πŸ™ˆ
