Hi everyone ☺️

I am a bit eager with this thread, I've just started my dreaded period (feel a little glum to be honest!) and I have been ovulating quite late, so if by a miracle I am successful this month I would be due end of may/early June. I have been dipping in and out of these threads and found them fantastic support so I hope you don't mind me carrying on the trend!

I am going into cycle 4, I am 31 and were trying for our first πŸ‘ΆπŸ»I suffered a chemical pregnancy recently and I feel SO ready to become pregnant, I want this so badly, as I am sure you all do too!

I was trawling through some old threads and found these facts that I found useful , feel free to read if you like πŸ˜™

  1. 80% of couples having regular sex (2/3 times a week) with no issues will fall pregnant in a year.
  2. 90% of couples having regular sex with no issues will fall pregnant in two years.

3.Each cycle you have approx 20% chance of falling pregnant.
4.The egg only lives for 24 hours so very small window to fertilise it
5.Decent sperm can live up to 5 days inside you so good to have sex before you think you ovulate as well as after.
6.If using ovulation testing the test picks up on Lh surge which often happens after the egg has been released.
7.Most NHS CCG will not investigate fertility problems until you have been having regular unprotected sex for over a year and some places insists for two years.
8.If you track your Basel body temperature it can give you a good indication of when you ovulate to get to know your cycles.
  1. Some types of lube can damage sperm be careful what you are using. (We are using preseed but using it like normal lube, not inserting it prior!)

Wishing you all the luck in world for this cycle 🀞🀞🀞🀞🀞

Hi! Coming to join you from the previous ttc thread as my AD is due imminently and I feel all the signs of it coming. I will be trying to track properly from this month.

I used preseed when I conceived my DS but of course no way of knowing if it helped as we didn’t use it every time. I’ve read some conflicting info on if it helps or not but I am tempted to order more and see as my CM is rarely ideal.

Welcome πŸ‘‹
Sorry to state the obvious πŸ™ˆ have you tested? For my chemical pregnancy I was convinced I was going to start my period, but then it never came, several days later I tested positive, but unfortunately that didn't last.

The problem with that though, this month, I had my usual period symptoms but couldn't help but think BUT WHAT IF.. it seems so cruel that pms symptoms can be the exact same as pre pregnancy symptoms, its like torture during the tww!

Have you tried starflower oil and evening primrose oil? I take it from CD1 and I've really noticed a difference, we actually don't need the preseed really, but use it outside the fertile period for comfort really!

Did you use opk tests last cycle? I bought a big pack on amazon, easy at home I think they are called, and use the premom app. It's great, I recommend if you haven't already tried!

Good luck this cycle 🀞🀞🀞

I tested today at what should be 12 DPO and was negative, so I think I’m definitely out this month.

Agreed! I hate that PMS symptoms are so similar as I also get my hopes up. So sorry about your chemical pregnancy.

I haven’t tried either oil. Do they help with CM? I can definitely order and try some :)

I now have the Premom app and have the OPK ready to go! This will be the first month that I track properly. Xx

Good luck @wontonsoupless! I think that’s wise. Nothing worse than doing a test and then wondering if you did it too soon and playing mental gymnastics. The time I did get a BFP was of course the time I chose to stop testing, so really I should know this time around to not keep testing but I find the anticipation too much

Hi all, can I join?

TTC #4 and on cycle 7 now. 12dpo and BFN on a FRER so definitely think I’m out. I got really obsessive a few cycles back so stopped using OPK’s and tracking cm as my anxiety just couldn’t take it. I know we’re incredibly lucky to have 3 DC already, but each month is like another blow. We’ve had a few losses between each child but this time we’ve not been able to catch at all☹️

Room for another one?

TTC #1, no idea what number cycle this is as I've been trying on and off since Jan 2021, with a MMC in December last year.

Have tried to avoid DTD at the "right" time this month as a May baby would be a bit of a nightmare for various personal and professional reasons. AF due in a couple of weeks, and then we'll be back on track to try for a June baby!

Baby dust to all hoping for a bfp this month

Wecome Welcome Everyone!
I will put a list together so we can hopefully share some good news and keep a track of each other as the weeks pass by, feel free to provide whatever details you feel comfortable with, but also ok if you don't want to share! I am also going to add a 'fun fact' at the end, I know this is cheesy, but it will be nice to get to know you all a little better, even if that's just from a weird and wonderful fact!

I will add to the list as you share and as we get newcomers!

@Summerbreeze111 31, TTC #1, Cycle 4
Fun Fact - I am currently renovating a house and although its quite stressful, I welcome the distraction, keeping busy helps to pass on time, during the very long -slow- wait of ttc. Second fact, because I am greedy - I was born early by CS and was quite blue like a little alien baby!

@Tophy124 I buy a combined one from Boots, I take it from CD1 and then stop when I get a peak OPK. It helps, I recommend giving it a try :) They also say to drink lots of water too!

@Bluemilan I am so sorry that you have gone through losses, its devastating. I really did not realise how common they were until I went through one myself and was surprised at how many threads/posts I read where others have gone through the same! I know exactly what you mean about the anxiety, I started BBT tracking, but I am not sure I am going to continue as I just panic if my chart doesn't quite look right! Good luck, keep us updated if you test again in a few days, I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

@wontonsoupless ahh keep us updated, I really hope its spotting / implantation maybe?

@NatalieSF ahhh what a brilliant birthday present that would be! πŸŽ‚Good Luck πŸ™

@FieldView Of course there is room for you! I am so sorry you went through a MMC πŸ˜₯It sounds like you have been on quite a journey to date, I really really hope the next cycle will be the one! I will keep all my fingers and toes crossed.

Ahh this is a lovely idea @Summerbreeze111 !

Fun fact? Quite a shallow one but I'm currently crushing on Henry Cavill πŸ˜‚ My husband is well aware and it's ok as he has a hall pass for Scarlett Johansson. We're also renovating a house (mid-century) so Henry Cavill is a welcome distraction πŸ˜‚

33YO TTC#1 Cycle 2

AF has also arrived for me today and I'm feeling really down too! It was my 1st cycle so I know I was silly to get my hopes up but it doesn't change the feeling.

Welcome newcomers πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

OK so... im tempted to plan a treat for myself during the tww to make the wait seem a little more bearable, what does everyone think? Does anyone else want to join in? I'm thinking maybe booking a facial, or a massage, which would be a big treat for me as I very rarely, if ever, book something like that! The wait is relentless and even something small to look forward to will hopefully help!

Thank you for the new fun facts, I will update the list very soon and share πŸ˜€

my AF ended up stopping and starting and I really got my hopes up, but have heavy AF today and realised I’d been tracking my AF wrong so I am actually due on this week and not last week. Feeling quite crushed but hopefully the end of September will bring happier news x

Hey @Summerbreeze111 just wanted to ask about point no 6, do you mean that the LH tests can read positive after ovulation has already happened? I read that you ovulate 24-36 hours after a positive OPK? Only been doing this a couple of months and want to make sure I understand everything.

Happy to see this thread pop up! Going into cycle 1 to TTC #1. Health problems made it impossible until a very unexpected recent change (long story). I’m 41 so it’s possible that ship has sailed but I’ve heard a lot of positive stories. My head is spinning as I’ve spent years believing this wasn’t possible and that I was ok with it. When things changed it’s like my ovaries turned into a ringing alarm clock!

Contacted my GP to ask if they can help, even just advising me on vitamins. I already take vit D and folic acid on prescription as I was found to have a deficiency a few years ago and don’t know whether to add or swap to Pregnacare or similar. Also asked if they can check my fertility. GP is calling on Thursday, no idea what to expect.

Welcome @anotherpotoftea!

Hopefully there's some good news ahead for us all soon!

In terms of vitamins, I tried Pregnacare for a couple of months but it made my cycles 50% longer so I've stopped with them now. I just take folic acid and then vitamin D in the winter. I decided that I'd rather not have longer cycles as the wait between my fertile window was too long! Everyone is different though, so you could try them for a couple of months to see how you get on?

35 and been TTC #1 for over a year, so getting a bit impatient now πŸ˜‚

anotherpotoftea · 22/08/2022 10:13

Thanks @FieldView. Hopefully will get some useful advice from my GP. No idea if I even still have those deficiencies, I’ve been prescribed vit D and folic acid for years now and it was nothing to do with TTC.

Trying to think of a fun fact. How about: I’m somewhere between mix-handed and ambidextrous. (And DH is left-handed so will be interesting to see how any DC turn out!)
