Hi everyone ☺️

I am a bit eager with this thread, I've just started my dreaded period (feel a little glum to be honest!) and I have been ovulating quite late, so if by a miracle I am successful this month I would be due end of may/early June. I have been dipping in and out of these threads and found them fantastic support so I hope you don't mind me carrying on the trend!

I am going into cycle 4, I am 31 and were trying for our first πŸ‘ΆπŸ»I suffered a chemical pregnancy recently and I feel SO ready to become pregnant, I want this so badly, as I am sure you all do too!

I was trawling through some old threads and found these facts that I found useful , feel free to read if you like πŸ˜™

  1. 80% of couples having regular sex (2/3 times a week) with no issues will fall pregnant in a year.
  2. 90% of couples having regular sex with no issues will fall pregnant in two years.
3.Each cycle you have approx 20% chance of falling pregnant. 4.The egg only lives for 24 hours so very small window to fertilise it 5.Decent sperm can live up to 5 days inside you so good to have sex before you think you ovulate as well as after. 6.If using ovulation testing the test picks up on Lh surge which often happens after the egg has been released. 7.Most NHS CCG will not investigate fertility problems until you have been having regular unprotected sex for over a year and some places insists for two years. 8.If you track your Basel body temperature it can give you a good indication of when you ovulate to get to know your cycles.
  1. Some types of lube can damage sperm be careful what you are using. (We are using preseed but using it like normal lube, not inserting it prior!)

Wishing you all the luck in world for this cycle 🀞🀞🀞🀞🀞

Ooh, can you write with your left hand?? That always fascinates me!! My left hand is useless.

I would really push for further testing if you can. My gp was really good and had sent me to get my blood checked and an internal scan to check that everything was in good working order within my first 6 months of TTC. I was 34 at the time, and I think they fully appreciated that I didn't have much time to waste if things aren't as they should be. It was a real relief to know that that there's not underlying problem, and that I just need to get lucky!

They also sent my husband to get his swimmers checked too. He didn't thank me for lining that one up for him πŸ˜‚

I haven’t read all of the thread yet (will do on my lunch break) but can I join please?

I’m now spotting (due AF in the night or tomorrow) so I’m definitely out now. When AF arrives it will be cycle 4 for me.

anotherpotoftea · 22/08/2022 10:28

@FieldView yes - not as well as my right, but better than you’d expect for a non-dominant hand. I really need to practise more. I think I chose the wrong hand to learn to write with (I remember being told to β€˜just pick a hand’ in school).

Good to hear your GP was helpful and thanks for the encouragement with mine. She’s generally really good and helpful so fingers crossed.

Hello @allgoodthings84!

Wecome Welcome Everyone!
I will put a list together so we can hopefully share some good news and keep a track of each other as the weeks pass by, feel free to provide whatever details you feel comfortable with, but also ok if you don't want to share! I am also going to add a 'fun fact' at the end, I know this is cheesy, but it will be nice to get to know you all a little better, even if that's just from a weird and wonderful fact!

I will add to the list as you share and as we get newcomers!

@Summerbreeze111 31, TTC #1, Cycle 4
Fun Fact - I am currently renovating a house and although its quite stressful, I welcome the distraction, keeping busy helps to pass on time, during the very long -slow- wait of ttc. Second fact, because I am greedy - I was born early by CS and was quite blue like a little alien baby!

Fun fact- I've got married, been to Greece and moved house in the past 3 months 🀣

Lion14 · 25/08/2022 16:17

Hi guys, mind if I join? AF arrived today, three days early so feeling very down with such a short cycle of 25 days. TTC #1, heading into cycle 5! 🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻

MissDottie · 25/08/2022 17:54

@Lion14 Hi! I’m in the same boat as you. AF started this morning and I have also had a short 26 day cycle. Didn’t do OPKs last month but from EWCM I think I ovulated on CD 15/16 so concerned I may have a short luteal phase πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. Going to try OPKs this cycle and go from there. I’m going into cycle 4 TTC number 1.

Good luck to everyone this month!

Lion14 · 25/08/2022 20:22

@MissDottie hi! Sorry AF has arrived! Sometimes I think you might be better off not doing OPKs and just dtd as regularly as you can throughout the month. I feel all of tracking can be too much pressure at times. It’s actually so nice to find someone who links up with me cycle wise! Think I might try Vitamin B6 this month and see does that help my luteal phase. Is this your first short cycle or have they all been like this?

MissDottie · 25/08/2022 23:02

@Lion14 since coming off the pill I have had two short cycles 24 & 25 days with a chemical pregnancy in between in July. I have avoided OPKs so far as I agree I think they will add pressure and another thing to be fixated on but I would quite like to be able to check when I ovulate to get a better idea of whether my luteal phase is maybe an issue! I was thinking about starting b6 too but a bit worried about messing with my cycle at the same time.

okflower4923 · 26/08/2022 10:07

ttc #1 cycle #1 4dpo

I know that the odds are SO SO slim but that is not stopping me from googling implantation symptoms like a literal moron πŸ™ƒ

SpringTulips22 · 26/08/2022 11:37

@okflower4923 I was the exact same! Hard not to obsess and I'm sure we can talk ourselves into feeling symptoms that aren't there! I know it's a waste of time and energy but still can't help it!

WannabeMum22 · 26/08/2022 11:41

Is it too late to comment? I'm on cycle day 2, will start ttc this month. Hoping to be a unicorn but I know its super unlikely.

Summerbreeze111 · 26/08/2022 19:39

Hi all, I am sorry I have been so rubbish at replying.. I am currently on my last night with dp in the lake district, its been such a lovely break and my dp proposed, I am now engaged πŸ’ yay yay yay!

It has been exactly what I've needed and a lovely break away not worrying about ttc, for once! My fertile period is still at least a week away yet so waiting will begin all over again shortly.

I will respond properly tomorrow when I am back πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

To the newcomers.. its never too late to join !

Aw what lovely news @Summerbreeze111 - huge congrats!

Alice1608 · 26/08/2022 20:12

Hi πŸ‘‹
I'm 9DPO and have had symptoms of nausea, bloating, loss of appetite and cramping. The worst ones those have been needing to drink water all the time as I can't quench the thirst and being constipated all week. I'm told all are huge signs although I tested this morning and it's negative.. so worried I'm making it all up in my head!
Congratulations @Summerbreeze111 amazing news! My DP proposed in May and we are getting married at the beginning of November πŸ₯° xxxx

Allgoodthings1 · 26/08/2022 20:20

Congrats @Summerbreeze111 πŸŽ‰

I’m just here as a weird sort of ttc spectator or cheerleader on the sidelines this month. I’ve stopped my pill in preparation for starting but I’m running a marathon at the start of October so if my fertile window falls right at the end of September we will try then, if it’s earlier in the month I’ll probably need to give it a miss as I don’t want to run the marathon already pregnant, will be hard enough without stopping to be sick.. so just here to cheer you all on til I can take part πŸ˜‚

FieldView · 26/08/2022 23:26

Congratulations @Summerbreeze111! What lovely news!!!

EdinburghGirl1 · 27/08/2022 07:27

Hi everyone I'm moving over from the May thread as bfn at 11dpo and pretty sure I'm out. I wasn't hopeful at all this month though. Next cycle will be cycle 4 ttc#2 for me but it will be my DP first. My DD was conceived 4th cycle so really hoping it's lucky number 4 for me this time too

bellaolive · 27/08/2022 07:45

Hi ladies, away at the moment for a friends wedding and after a fair bit to drink at the wedding yesterday (whoops...) I had the urge to test, despite watered down urine and think I got a vfl? Retested this morning with a cb digi and it was negative...

@bellaolive yip I see something in the second picture! Fingers crossed it is! Don’t worry about the drink, they’re not joined to you by a placenta at this stage so I’m pretty sure it’s fine πŸ™ˆ

bellaolive · 27/08/2022 13:59

Thank you @Allgoodthings1 - reassuring! Fingers crossed 😊🀞🏼

Aardbeien · 27/08/2022 14:53

CD28 after 8 months trying, can never be sure exactly when I've ovulated so trying the "just keep DTD until af or a positive test" method πŸ˜‚ keeping my fingers firmly crossed that a June baby will be a possibility for me

anotherpotoftea · 27/08/2022 15:15

@bellaolive fingers crossed for you!

anotherpotoftea · 27/08/2022 15:17

CD11 here but only just off the Pill and don’t know if I’m coming or going (I know I should wait for my cycle to normalise but given age I don’t want to hang about). Had acupuncture on Tuesday to hopefully help kickstart my cycle.

Had a chat with GP who said don’t go down the road of OPKs etc right now, just DTD regularly. I am really struggling to resist the temptation though.

afinethingindeed · 27/08/2022 15:27

Hi everyone, I'd love to join!
I'm 5 DPO on first cycle TTC number 2.
Last time I was tracking BBT and used ovulation sticks. This time, I'm not doing BBT and have been less religious with the sticks so I've not seen my LH surge. Hoping it was just a bad batch of cheap tests. AF due 6th September so will probably start testing on 3rd. I wish I could say I'd wait until AF is late but I know I don't have that kind of control lol. Plus I got my BFP on 10 DPO last time.

Good luck everyone :)

cavebaby · 27/08/2022 16:13

Congratulations on your engagement @Summerbreeze111

Moving over here from the May thread. 13dpo but a negative test at 11dpo and a drop in temperature today so AF is definitely on her way! TTC#2 and this will be our third cycle properly tracking and trying. Third time lucky maybe :)
