@BritInNZ - thanks for setting up 😊

Third thread lucky ladies, or let’s hope so x

lemons44 · 04/05/2022 08:38

Thanks for the tag @BritInNZ 💗

Just doing a summary of where I am for the new thread. Would love to hear your summaries too to remind me where we all are.

I'm age 33 and DH 38. TTC baby number 1 and cycle 13, never had a BFP. My scan is fine and AMH is 14 (although I do still worry my uterine lining was thin even though the consultant says it's fine). DH has 0 sperm or 'azoospermia' as it's known. Waiting for hormonal blood tests, ultrasound and physical exam for DH to find out why there is no sperm and whether we can address the issue to find/use the sperm.

Indianna2006 · 04/05/2022 08:42

@BritInNZ wow new thread as we’ve filled up the old one 🙈

Little update from me. Appreciate these updates are negative which I’m sorry for. But hey that’s my reality.

having some complications with retained tissue. And so I had second round of medical management which I believed has failed. Going back to be scanned again today. An if so think I may need the surgery 😔😔

it’s been 3 and half weeks since we found out. And I would of been having my dating scan this week. I’m struggling. I just want it over with.

and yep we started trying last May..so here we are a year later. I was lucky to fall pregnant just before that 12th cycle time frame. But alas here I am a year later at the beginning.

anyway hope you’re all okay. Insanely praying somehow by miracle today I have no more retained tissue and they can discharge me. But I doubt it. Still getting very positive pregnancy tests too which is a fucking minefield in itself.

just wanna be back in with A chance. Any chance. Is better than this malarkey of hanging around.

🙈🙈 anyway sorry for that rant. Hope you’re all okay and plodding on as best you can.

who has anything coming up?

@Carla2601 how are you feeling lovely?

lemons44 · 04/05/2022 08:42

@NatW2021 sorry that you feel that it's not happened this month. Will you be in your next fertile window whilst on holiday? Where are you going again?

Glad you are treating yourself to holiday clothes. I had all my parcels turn up yesterday and it did cheer me up a bit trying on all my new dresses 👗

FlyOnTheWall89 · 04/05/2022 08:45

Thanks @BritInNZ!

My summary:
Diagnosed with MFI. Low sperm concentration, borderline total count. 13/14 months TTC, longer off the pill. HSG completed this cycle. Lower end normal AMH. IVF funding in place - currently making decisions on when to accept natural conception won't happen for us and begin IVF.

Indianna2006 · 04/05/2022 08:46

@lemons44 oh yes summary is a good idea! Remind ourselves of where everyone is at.

I’m 32 and DH is 35. TTC number 2. Have a DD already who is 4.
Started TTC last May. Had some initial fertility tests showing no issues when we got close to year mark of ttc. But fell pregnant luckily finally on cycle 11.
Unfortunately at early scan at 8+4 confirmed I’d had a mmc. Which was nearly 4 weeks ago and currently still in realms of trying to have that resolved so still very much semi pregnant atm.

After that will be awaiting negative pregnancy tests and madly doing OPKs to work out where I’ll ovulate and what my cycles will now look like to start the process all over again.

❤️🕊

lemons44 · 04/05/2022 08:47

Oh @Indianna2006 I am so sorry ☹️ this must just be so hard for you and really tough mentally too. I can't even imagine all the different emotions you must be feeling.

Never apologise for a negative update. We are all here to support each other through these tough times 💗 keep talking to us.

Sending you a massive hug xx

NatW2021 · 04/05/2022 08:55

A little summary from me.

I am 34, DH is 35, TTC baby number 1. I am coming to the end of cycle 11 which based on BBT i am out. I had blood tests around Christmas which showed i has a underactive thyroid, low Vit D so have been on medication since then and making some dietary changes.

All other blood test look ok, DH semen analysts fine, i had my first fertility appointment last week, i had a scan and was told i may have Adenomyosis which is when the tissue that normally lines the uterus (endometrial tissue) grows into the muscular wall of the uterus. Although i had a scan in January and this wasn't flagged so not sure if this is a problem or not. The usual symptoms are heavy and painful periods which i dont have 🤷‍♀️

AFC count normal - waiting for follow ip to find out AMH and further details of my scan. Need to lose 3 stone for IVF funding so that's my next step.

NatW2021 · 04/05/2022 09:33

@Indianna2006 - So sorry what an ordeal. Hope everything is clear today 💗

@lemons44 I'm going to mexico - if i ovulate on day 12 i will be ovulating the day we fly if i ovulate on day 14 (which i do occasionally) i will be on holiday. Not holding up much hope anymore.

Indianna2006 · 04/05/2022 09:48

@lemons44 thank you. I’m trying mentally to process it. Because ultimately I don’t want it affecting our chances ttc again. It’s bad luck. And awful. But determined it won’t be the end of the road for me.

oh wow @NatW2021 Mexico! Have an amazing time. Chill out, drink cocktails, enjoy time with your DH. And just enjoy normal sex. Who knows maybe being away from it all different scenario could be the trick.

LucyAnne34 · 04/05/2022 10:17

@BritInNZ thanks for the tag! ❤️

Carla2601 · 04/05/2022 10:18

@Indianna2006 i think I’m ok - I had some really bad cramps in the night on Monday so I’ve been worried but no bleeding so I’m hoping it was just some twinges, it didn’t last long but it woke me up.

No nausea or anything yet (6+1 today) just tired and sore boobs and peeing a lot. Very worried and can’t relax into it at all but I have my early scan on Tuesday so if we can see a heartbeat I’m hoping I will feel a bit better then 👍🏻

Hoping43 · 04/05/2022 10:24

Hi everyone.

I’m 35 and my OH is 37. We have two beautiful boys aged 5 and 2, conceived easily. Been TTC number 3 for 13 months. Starting trying again when my littlest was 20 months and it’s just not happening this time.

Had day 3 bloods, SA, ultrasound and follicle count, AMH is 18.6, HSG. Nothing has been found to be wrong. We have been advised to keep trying until the Autumn and then consider IVF.

KatieLooLa · 04/05/2022 11:21

Just waiting on results from my smear (I was a little overdue cause of COVID making it hard to get appointments) should get letter within the next couple days.
SO has his phone appointment with GP next Thursday, so hopefully getting referred to fertility clinic soon.
Other than that I have a fun filled day of walking the pup, getting shopping in, brushing pup, hoovering and all other housework to do it all again tomorrow!
Pic of pup to show it's not all bad 😂

Koalie · 04/05/2022 12:47

Hi ladies !

Sorry, I've followed you all over to this thread. :) I sent a message in the last thread but have been on holiday and unable to keep up ever since (last day today - flying home tonight! Boooo :))

I am 31, DH 34, ttc baby #1. We had a MMC back in October and have been unable to conceive our rainbow baby so far (currently 8dpo) i suspect I may have low progesterone, as I sometimes have very short luteal phases and this could also explain my miscarriage?) I also often get functional cysts - not sure what this means though lol. Got an apt with the drs on Monday where I'm going to beg for some blood work.

@Indianna2006 .. I am so sorry you're going through this. I remember the agonising wait for a negative test and for my period to return. I opted for the ERPC as soon as I heard my baby wasn't growing, as I was keen for it all to be over quickly so that I could get closure but I totally understand why you wanted to try the medical management. If you have any questions at all about the procedure or about absolutely anything then please just ask - it can be an absolute minefield to navigate.
Xx

Chasingclouds100 · 04/05/2022 13:36

Hi all - can I join you? I am 44 and DH is 47, we have 2 DC but are desperate for another baby - we have been trying for 10 months and nothing so far, I feel we may have left it too late!

KatieLooLa · 04/05/2022 15:33

Sorry didn't really introduce myself here, ahem...

Hi ladies,
I'm 36 and SO is 42. We've been TTCing for baby #1 for a smidge over 2 years. We have a gorgeous husky called Ares, who has been around babies with her previous owner (SIL).
Recently started to try and get referred to fertility clinic, but need to wait for appointment. NGL I'm fed up of waiting for that BFP! X

Indianna2006 · 04/05/2022 18:08

@Koalie thank you. I am now booked in for ERPC surgery on Friday 😩 not looking forward to it. Just worried about ttc after and the small risks. Cos I worry about stuff as it is like that.

just trying to breathe and think in couple days it all be over. An at least than I can hope for a neg test. Whereas atm I am in pure limbo land.

be glad to draw a line underneath it though. But then back to ttc which is not easy hey 😬

I’ll be glad to see a positive OPK tbh 😂😂

Koalie · 04/05/2022 18:23

@Indianna2006 Will you be having the ERPC under general or local? I had mine under local and just made the most of the gas & air! It really wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated if that’s of any reassurance.

Tbh, I didn’t read much into the procedure and the risks beforehand (which is most unlike me .. I think I was just in a state of shock and wanted it all to be over) so ignorance was bliss really. I did worry afterwards though when I didn’t fall pregnant again straight away like everyone told me I would (🙄) and ended up down a Google rabbit hole .. but ultimately, I don’t think the ERPC is the reason I’ve not yet got my rainbow.

I hope it goes well for you on Friday. X 🍀

Koalie · 04/05/2022 18:28

@Indianna2006 oh and just to let you know, I still had a very faint line on FRER on the first day of my first period after the procedure. So the hcg doesn’t need to be completely out of your system before your cycles will start back up again (this is something I spent a lot of time trying to find out when I was waiting for my period/a negative test) so waiting for your period and going from there might save you the heart ache of continuous positive tests x

Indianna2006 · 04/05/2022 18:51

@Koalie thank you. It’s under general anaesthetic.
yes sometimes just takes a while to make these babies. As annoying as that is.

BritInNZ · 04/05/2022 19:22

Here's my summary:

I'm 29 and DH is 31. I have been off the pill since September 2019 but we've been actively TTC #1 for 15 months. Never had a BFP. We have had all fertility testing done and been diagnosed with unexplained infertility as everything is 'perfect' (can you get a more frustrating diagnosis?!). This is my last cycle before starting letrozole, which is usually used for ovulation induction, but it also used as a last resort for those of us with short term unexplained infertility (in NZ, not recommended by NICE in the UK). We're in NZ and because we have unexplained infertility, we don't qualify for publicly funded IVF for about 3 and a half years, so if letrozole doesn't do the trick we'll have to pay to start IVF next year. Only issue I tend to experience with my cycle is spotting around ovulation (I have been told these are functional cysts and nothing to worry about) and spotting for several days before my AF starts.

Carla2601 · 04/05/2022 19:30

@lemons44 how are you doing? Did you hear back from anyone?

Carla2601 · 04/05/2022 19:31

@Indianna2006 sorry to hear about your surgery and hope it all goes as smoothly as it can. It’s so bloody cruel that on top of the loss there’s the waiting and procedures and surgery and i’m thinking about you
