@lemons44 your gut might well be right on which of the broad two options it is (block or hormone) because we googled and my OH didnt have a single thing on the hormone list so our gut said block (weirdly his counts as a block although it isn’t really one more a missing bit!) and we weren’t surprised when he said so i think it’s quite good to have some thoughts on it so you don’t feel so shocked

KatieLooLa · 30/04/2022 22:46

Been trying for a baby for over 2 years.
Went to the doctor to be referred to fertility clinic but unfortunately as my SO couldn't attend the appointment with me, now need to wait 2 weeks for a phone appointment... small victories I suppose! X

Hoping43 · 01/05/2022 19:41

@NatW2021 thanks for your reply. I’ve been a bit better today. Back to feeling so fed up of it and like it’s never going to happen that I couldn’t care less anymore.

@KatieLooLa welcome to the thread. Everyone is so lovely and supportive. Literally come to this thread when I have nobody else who understands and every just gets it and is so helpful 💕. Is your appointment with your GP or fertility clinic?

KatieLooLa · 01/05/2022 22:18

@Hoping43 Phone appointment just with GP as I was more or less refused being referred till GP had spoken with partner x

Hoping43 · 01/05/2022 22:24

@KatieLooLa how frustrating. My GP just said they couldn’t refer us without my bloods and my partners SA but they didn’t speak to him.

are you TTC your first baby? X

KatieLooLa · 01/05/2022 23:49

@Hoping43 Yeah really frustrating, not sure how they do things here (I'm in Isle of Man). TTCing baby no. 1. Had my smear week before my appointment and was talking to nurse about it, she said she'd been through it and had her son through IVF and told me kinda what to expect, that they'd take bloods to check my hormone levels, then check SO's sperm and go from there, said the process is fairly quick after that. So nervous and excited at the same time 😂

Hoping43 · 02/05/2022 07:14

@KatieLooLa fingers crossed for your appointment. Keep us posted!

NatW2021 · 02/05/2022 07:23

@Hoping43 - Totally relate, this is the bit i hate the most! Once i know I'm out i just want AF to show up and get on with it. Trying to take the positives if i am not pregnant at least i can drink cocktails on holiday.

@KatieLooLa - welcome! Glad to hear you are taking the first steps - how old are you if you Dont mind me asking?

Hoping43 · 02/05/2022 07:35

@NatW2021 do you test? I don’t… never have the need to. My cycle varies 28-34 days and it’s never been late x

NatW2021 · 02/05/2022 07:39

@Hoping43 - yeah i do as i would rather just know i am trying to hold off until tomorrow/Wednesday but tbh i kind of no I'm out when my bbt is rubbish and i just get the usual pms symptoms around 8/9dpo. My cycles are like clock work luckily usually 26 days with the odd 28 days here and there.

KatieLooLa · 02/05/2022 08:57

@Hoping43 Thanks for the support, will keep you in the loop x

@NatW2021 Don't mind at all, I'm 36 x

lemons44 · 03/05/2022 14:23

Welcome @KatieLooLa

Thanks @NatW2021 and @Carla2601 for your comments/advice. I am chasing the GP to get a hormone test for DH and still trying to find a urologist where I hope they can do the genetic bloods at the same time as the scan/examination. I am giving it until 4pm today then ringing them all again as nobody has replied to my email yet.

@Carla2601 I remember you asking about sperm PH but I can't remember why.. does it help indicate if the cause is hormonal or not? Anyway my DH's PH was 7.70 not sure if that tells us anything.

We will have to start a new thread soon. Maybe on the start of the new one we could all post a brief summary of where we are as I sometimes lose track x

How's everyone doing? Anybody get up to anything nice at the weekend? Me and DH are still pretty fed up so spent the weekend having a fair few cuddles with us and our dog. I think we needed it to be fair in order to help us process. I also spent loads of money on online clothes shopping yesterday to fill the empty infertility void haha x

Carla2601 · 03/05/2022 14:55

@lemons44 ah so the PH our side was what indicated it wasn’t going through the pipe (it’s basically exposed to the body and becomes acidic) - let me compare tonight as at least you might be able to rule out a vas issue (or not - and at least if it is the same which would be wild as it’s so rare at least you know there is a route even if it’s not the one you want) x

Carla2601 · 03/05/2022 14:58

@lemons44 so a quick google tells me that’s normal PH (should be 7.2-8 so sounds bang on) so I don’t know of course but as a guess I reckon it won’t be a missing vas (although that doesn’t mean it’s hormonal just means it could be a different type of blockage). Not sure that’s particularly helpful as in the list of a load of things it might be I think all we’ve done there is ruled one out

lemons44 · 03/05/2022 15:01

Thanks @Carla2601 it is helpful as it's still a small part of this complex and utterly shite jigsaw piece!

Hope you're feeling ok with your growing bean x

lemons44 · 03/05/2022 15:05

That was supposed to say jigsaw puzzle but I think you know what I mean x

BritInNZ · 03/05/2022 19:44

Yes @lemons44 we're going to have to start a new thread soon!

Sorry for the radio silence ladies. Moved into our new house on Friday and haven't had any wifi and my data ran out 😂 didn't even have hot water! So it's been a crazy few days.

No updates here but I had reflexology last night and it was amazingggg, so relaxing!!! If anyone is feeling stressed/upset I'd recommend you give it a shot 😊

How is the new house @BritInNZ ? Hope you are managing to settle in.

Eeek I can't even have pedicures because I hate people touching my feet so much so not sure how I'd cope with reflexology! Glad you found it relaxing though. x

NatW2021 · 04/05/2022 07:07

@lemons44 - hope you are doing ok, everything just takes forever doesnt it, so much waiting round. My BBT dropped this morning so looks like im out again (although i knew i was) i am feeling down as next cycle will be 12 months and i just know something is off somewhere along the line but i dont know where to start with further investigations.

I am on holiday in. 2 weeks and when i am back i am in operation lose 3 stone for IVF!

I do love a good online shop! I have had parcels being delivered thick and fast with my holiday clothes. 😊☀️ i cant wait x

NatW2021 · 04/05/2022 07:41

@BritInNZ - hope the house move went well. How did you cope with no data 😂 i am going to have a little break from my phone when on holiday and leave it in the hotel room so i can just switch off. I have also muted and unfollowed lots of fertility type pages as it was just constant. It was my nutritionally who advised this and its helped. I had my last call with her yesterday those 12 weeks flew by but it was really great to help with my diet but the emotional support was great as well

FlyOnTheWall89 · 04/05/2022 08:06

@BritInNZ do you want to start the new thread?! Xx

BritInNZ · 04/05/2022 08:29

New thread done - called One year+ TTC part 3. Tagged you ladies in 😊
