Hi all, I have figured out how to create a thread on Mumsnet and here goes... my first one.

This is a continuation of the two (!) full Jan threads so far this month - we're a chatty bunch and happy to welcome new folks. There'll probably be a February thread starting up soon too.

@HMFx according to my app I'm now due on 22nd but I've got myself down for 19th to test as I know I won't be able to resist! I have a pack of 5 cheapie strips that came in with my opks which are 'early detection' though im sure it'll still be a bfn!

Premom ratio is 0.97 so assuming this is my peak for now. Dtd at 5pm so let the fertilisation begin 🤗

@lottieb92 I had a big night out when I didn’t know I was pregnant with DD and she’s absolutely fine.

So after having what I think is a false positive yesterday on a cheap test and then nothing since on sticks I’ve bought 2 first response tests… tomorrow I’ll be 9dpo am I stupid to test? I’ve never had a false positive before and it’s playing with my mind. Xx

@lottieb92 I wouldn't feel guilty. The advice I took on board was that all of us could potentially be trying for a really long time and you'd drive yourself mad if you gave up every little thing. I wouldn't fret about it x

@lottieb92 I haven't really changed anything during my 2ww, just kept everything the same as I'd usually do it. I don't drink alcohol but I do drink coffee and Diet Coke and have kept my caffeine intake the same for now.

@Billymay so you know how long your luteal usually is? I got the faintest of lines at 10 dpo so advising holding out for double digits, but I’ve seen people get lucky here early. Usually 2 days before AF date is safe for testing

Is it ok if I join? Just started TTC baby number 2 and forgot how anxious it can make you! I'm currently on cycle day 15 and due AF on 22nd.

This might be a stupid question, but (if you don't use ovulation indicators) when in your cycle do you tend to stop 'trying' (if you do?).

@lakejupiter thank you for that… still some hope. I feel like my mind has been playing tricks on me as I’ve felt exhausted this afternoon and I’m going off my food… maybe I’m just hatching something. Just need to be patient. Xx

Thanks all so much! Probably because I felt tipsy I was fretting haha but I’ve soon sobered up with my cup of tea.
I’m not even a drinker really, so it’ll be easy to give it up! I only occasionally have one but it was hard to avoid at gatherings this December. From now on I’ll just politely say I’m on a health kick for the new year if I don’t fancy it 🤣

I’m sure all will be okay - roll on the next few days until I’m testing so you’re right I might as well enjoy it - and I did! ✨🤍

@Hopingforarainbow27 thank you! I'm 13 or possibly 14dpo and took the FRER this morning, wasn't expecting such a strong line!

I’m 6dpo and no symptoms so far apart from having small cramps today and yesterday for a few hours.
Really hope this is the month as it’s OH birthday in 2 weeks and our anniversary wanted to surprise him. Is Anyone else on similar days to me?

Arghhh I feel like I’m going crazy. I stupidly tested last night at 7DPO and tonight at 8DPO. Each month I’ve always managed to wait until my period is due so I don’t know what came over me this month! And now because it’s a BFN I feel so, so miserable even though I know it would probably be too early to get a positive anyway. Feel like I’m torturing myself and going to try not to test now until 12DPO. If I squint I sometimes think I can see a faint shadow but I think I’m just going crazy!

@Billymay it is so very hard. My first cycle I tested every day from 3 dpo 🤦‍♀️. It doesn’t help that pregnancy symptoms by and large are the same as progesterone symptoms so it does get very easily confused. If something felt “different” leading you down this path just know that it usually takes 3-5 days after implantation to test positive and most people implant around days 6-9 I think. So using that maths I think 10dpo is just a safer testing bet. Yes I am a maths geek 😂. Do what makes you feel ok though. My first cycle I wasn’t crushed seeing the bfn, but 2nd onwards I was ok waiting as I didn’t want to see it and feel down x

@Moonshine160 I thought I saw one. Trying to not get your hopes up either though as do early. Maybe try again in 2 days? Idk if I could wait till 12 from 8 x

@Moonshine160 awh bless! Don’t worry we are all on the same boat as you. I know it’s torture waiting. Think definitely wait until 12dpo as implantation doesn’t happens until 8/9 days so even if u are u will get a negative. Good luck and my warmest hug to you 🥰🥰🥰

@madeleine85 and @Mummy202102 thanks ladies, I will try and hold out until 10DPO at least. I think it must be a bit of an evap line because it looks stark white now it’s dried but it gave me the tiniest amount of hope which I don’t think helps at all because it’s just torture.
