Hi all, I have figured out how to create a thread on Mumsnet and here goes... my first one.

This is a continuation of the two (!) full Jan threads so far this month - we're a chatty bunch and happy to welcome new folks. There'll probably be a February thread starting up soon too.

Uhhh ladies. I'm in my head, I think I messed up my DPO calculations. I got a positive OPK on Thursday December 30... I should the 1st as 1 DPO or the 2nd as 1 dpo?

@Billymay I think people ether put their AF due date or the date they want to test if it's before that. E.g if using a frer you can test a few days before af is due so might choose that day instead.

Hiya - I'm the 25th :)

@Tinkerbell098 I've just been reading up on it. It helps regulate your hormones throughout your cycle to encourage the right amount of oestrogen for ovulation and then progesterone for conception. I have a short LP and it apparently helps lengthen it.
I've added a picture of the cycle you should use. Seems pretty simple and can't harm anything in trying!
Just send the OH out to get some for my CD1 tomorrow 😂

Hi again! BFN today and wasted my last test 🙃 can't get any more until Monday but at least if AF dosen't show up then I'll be a few days late by then. But I'm not confident in the slightest

Just a little update from me, since my faint bfp at the weekend I've done a few more, still doesn't feel real at all! Baby dust to everyone else testing this week ✨

@Shortmamashortcycles and @BabyBird20 hey fellow 4dpo'ers 😅

I'm trying to hold out testing until 23rd when I'll be overdue AF. But I can't promise come 10dpo that I won't give in. I've only got two FRERS and no strips so I have to be careful not to waste! I almost bought some strips today but thought it would just make it easier for me to cheat haha. What about you?

I've had sore boobs and cramps and bad back ache. Also weird crampy pins and needles in my tummy. I always get sore boobs after ovulation so that's normal for me. We shall wait and see 🤞🏼🙏🏼

@ladybuggoldfinch and @Tiredbuttrying1 also in the old gal group. Im 39 and also ttc#2 my DS will be 2 in March. It took us 2 years to conceive him. I fell pregnant after 2 months of trying at the start of dec, but also a loss (ectopic). 🤞 for baby dust and 🌈

I'm going to try and resist testing if/until AF is late. I know I'll drive myself crazy if I test early - either convincing myself I'm out or with false positives and evap lines.

Instead I'll drive myself crazy reading into every twinge I get in the next two weeks

I’m going to take the plunge and change my date to Sunday 16th… I’ll be 12DPO 😳 so I must have majorly miscalculated when I said I’d test on the 21st. I’lll obviously be chomping at the bit if I get that far with no AF 🤣

Mini rant:
We had guests over for dinner! ( they’ve just left - Early as children/work) they bought a lovely bottle of wine and I indulged in 2 small glasses as I was embarrassed to say I didn’t fancy it or tell them a reason!
I know it won’t do me any harm this early, but I still feel guilty and crap I drank them… anybody else drink one or two in the TWW?
My sister had the “drink til it’s pink mentality” but that was only one or two a week! Which is what I’ve stuck too! 😬

Hi, joining from the previous thread. I think I'm 11dpo but have been getting negatives, unless anyone can see a magical line (I think there could be the faintest thing ever under certain light but my eyes are not trusted!)

@lottieb92 with my 1st I drank a fair bit the weekend before I found out as it was OH birthday and we was away. It was absolutely fine. It will all be ok 👍

Checking back in, found it a lot quicker this time.

I am nearing the end of the TWW cannot actually wait for it to be over with. Im exhausted I guess it is the mental pressure of this is contributing to that.

@lottieb92 a few drinks won't hurt. Our successful month I had one cheat night in the middle of the 2WW and had several drinks. Prob 6 or so units. When I got the BFP with my DD we weren't TTC and well... there was a lot of drinking. She is totally fine. If you are nervous about it I'd cut back a bit, but there is no need to go teetotal/have it impact your life/feel like you need to explain to everyone what is happening. This is your journey and you just have to do what makes you feel ok x

@lottieb92, my friend is (ohpleaseohplease) pregnant with her 🌈 baby via IVF, and her clinic were supremely unbothered about whether she had a drink after the embryo transfer. And their entire business is reliant on these things working.

My other friend got absolutely hammered on her birthday, thinking she was out, only to find she had caught that cycle. Her daughter was absolutely fine.

So... in summary, a couple of glasses in your TWW won't do any harm. Hope you had a lovely time!
