The weather has definitely turned chilly, so it’s time to hunker down on that Willy 🍆

Its Halloween time full of ghosts and ghouls 👻🎃but will our f*ck boy bodies make us into the fools?

Come on universe we’ve done our time, we’ve had lots of tricks so give us our treats 🐣.

Whether you are TTC “normally”, IUI/ivf or anything we are a crew that cling together to the bitter end & always ready to help a sister out.

It costs an embarrassing story for your ticket, doesn’t have to be TTC related as we know laughing when TTC is needed.

If you see mention of Instagram I have a public account where a lot of people are linked too:
Minstermusings, and a few people have created new anonymous accounts to record their TTC journey/life stupidities m/general annoyances on…just don’t mention TTC on a personal account please!

@paintfairy i know the position you mean, I've spent many a night like that crying from IBS pain 😅 I really hope it passes soon for you - maybe it's not the quantity of progesterone but the particular type of progesterone pill that doesn't suit you. Either way I sincerely hope it won't continue into your first trimester 🤞🤞

Somatronic · 14/11/2021 13:28

@Dollybird89 bless you, such a long cycle must be so frustrating for you.
@InkyPaper thinking of you all xx

I haven't been here all week. I was sick with something that felt like a flu in the body but without major cold symptoms so I dunno what it was but I was good for nothing for a few days there.

I'm hungover today. I went out with my husband and his brother for 1 pint of Guinness to watch Ireland v. New Zealand and somehow ended up on a mad one with my brother and some friends from home who were up in Dublin for the night. Great fun but I feel pretty rough today.

Went to the loo just now and AF arrived which makes it a 22 day cycle? My shortest ever. So that's no success with 3 months of clomid and 3 months of letrozole. I've just taken out a loan to renovate my house which leaves no money for IVF which I guess I need now. Oops. I sort of hoped the letrozole would work and I wouldn't need to worry about paying for IVF. My Dad's retirement lump sum is due any day now so I'll have to convince him to loan me money to buy a grandchild 😳😅 I emailed an IVF clinic and they're ignoring me so it's all going great...

Franklydear · 14/11/2021 14:49

Oh @Somatronic that sounds so rough, 22 days is just under what the nhs considers a normal cycle, can that get you some help? I had some 23 days cycles with is the minimum normal,

becarefuloutthere · 14/11/2021 14:50

@paintfairy yeah I'd leave it until Friday too. The later the better as no second guessing then!! You might not get any changes or usual symptoms cos of the progesterone so waiting sounds like the best bet. At least it's less than a week away now! 🙏🏾
@Somatronic ah I love nights like that! Spontaneous and so much fun 🤩 shame about the hangover but worth it for a fun night out! Ooh which clinic did you contact? Do you have a bit of choice in your area?

Somatronic · 14/11/2021 14:58

@Franklydear there's no help for IVF in Ireland except a little bit of tax back because it's a medical procedure not covered by the state or by health insurance. Doesn't matter what your situation is there's no help.

@becarefuloutthere there's plenty of choice in that I'm going to be paying for it all myself so I can go where I like haha. I just emailed the private hospital where I see my endocrinologist because I'm vaguely familiar with the hospital and I have no idea what I'm doing.

becarefuloutthere · 14/11/2021 15:48

@Somatronic that makes sense then. Hope they get bk to you soon! Not a good start on their part tho eh.

Bea14 · 14/11/2021 16:41

Congratulations @bez91 @Minster2012 @DKDK123 on your happy news and @Lexber - twins wow! What an exciting surprise!

I hope for positive news for you too @paintfairy although sorry to hear you feel so crap.

@Somatronic Those are always the best nights imo. Sorry to hear AF is here. Annoying to hear you get no funding for IVF. It blows my mind how much of a postcode lottery it is.

Sorry I dropped out for a bit. I was feeling pretty down after my first fertility appointment. I just felt so defeated by TTC and that it was never going to happen, whilst everyone around me is pregnant or has their baby. We didn't stop trying but I did take a bit of time away from the internet. On Thursday at 9dpo I wiped and there was red blood and I was raging thinking my period had arrived really early. I thought I would just do a test on Friday seeing as I was peeing in a cup anyway (still freezing my wee for the consultant!) and I got a faint line. Tested again yesterday and the line is darker. However I did have a bit of pink spotting at 10dpo and I had red when I wiped on one occasion last night. I am only 12dpo and my period is due today as I have an 11 day luteal phase. Every time I go to the toilet is a trauma as I am terrified I will be bleeding. I spent all last night panicking after wiping a little bit of red but nothing since. So I am currently just burying my head in the sand and hoping and praying for the best whilst expecting the worst. I didn't test today but will tomorrow and will hope for a darker line.
I hope you don't mind me sharing this news but I didn't want to disappear entirely. Who knows if this is the one, time will tell I suppose!

paintfairy · 14/11/2021 17:37

@Dollybird89 130 days? That's insanity.
@Juno231 yes I have had time before where I've been ibs like at times of severe stress. Its not nice at all. Literally sometimes I want to stab a knife in to release the pressure! 🤣 But this was a whole new level. I'm honestly not sure how people deal with it long term.
@Somatronic night out sounds excellent! Why not?! 22 days is not so good. 😔
@becarefuloutthere I think I might know. I was on more progesterone for my last iui than I'm on now, and still knew. Plus otd is 3 days after AF is even due. It'll be interesting to see!

Vil10 · 14/11/2021 18:29

Haven't checked in all weekend so apologies ladies! I had some drinks with friends on Friday after being out for tea then had a chilled night last night then been packing away summer stuff today ready to move out (on the subject of moving out we're going to see a house on Tuesday)! Think ov was yesterday or today but I fell asleep so early yesterday so didn't manage to DTD and haven't today yet either, but I feel quite chilled about it all! Still waiting on my letter for my first gynae app but managed to log into the referrals bit to see if it had been put on there but it just said "first appointment approximately 85 days" and "9 out of 10 patients start treatment in approximately 28 weeks"

@clolo congratulations on the scan! So pleased for you❤️

@InkyPaper so sorry to hear the news about your family! Thinking of you x

@Minster2012 bet it was lovely for you being able to tell your friends!!

@Dollybird89 130??? So bad that they haven't done anything to help you yet!!

@becarefuloutthere oooo how exciting on the car!! Are you in your new house now?

@paintfairy oh trapped wind feeling is just awful!! I hope you start to feel better soon x

@Somatronic I love spontaneous nights like that!! But sorry for the short cycle! Hahaha asking your dad to buy a Grandchild sounds perfect!! I was speaking to my mum about what if we have to do ivf and it doesn't work and we only get one go and she replied with "well we'll cross that bridge when we get to it but I want you to take my money, I'd pay all the money in the world for you to have a child and me a grandchild" I cried🤣

@Bea14 I really hope this is it for you🤞🏼 tentative congratulations xx

becarefuloutthere · 14/11/2021 19:45

@paintfairy ah of course! Yes very interesting. Few more days to go 😬
@Vil10 heya hun! Ooh handy app to have. Your weekend sounds nice, glad you enjoyed.
Thanks 😊 I'm so excited to start driving again, it's been years! Prob good we went for an automatic 😂 yeah moved in end of sept and still buying things for it. We needed so much to fill a 4 bed coming from a 1 bed. My poor savings have taken a hammering 😩 all for the greater good so won't complain! That was the one saving grace of lockdown, we saved so much.

bez91 · 14/11/2021 19:53

@paintfairy sounds awful, I hope it eases off soon! I'm hopeful for you for Friday 🤞🏼

@Bea14 tentative congratulations to you 🥰

@becarefuloutthere oooh sounds good, enjoy the new car! Know what you mean about buying things and savings. We renovated/extended but my bank rang me and were like "there's so many transactions going on it seems a little suspicious" 🙈

@Vil10 that sounds good, at least if manages your expectations. I've had that on a few hospital referral letters which is good so you're not left wondering!

Off for a PCR tomorrow wooo, seems someone on our aeroplane last week tested positive so we've been summoned. All symptom free and negative LFTs just annoying because DHs work have ridiculously tight rules so they've taken him off call until results which has cost us a few hundred quid we could have done with 🤦🏼‍♀️

becarefuloutthere · 14/11/2021 20:18

@bez91 haha we're waiting for Amex to do the same to us 😂
Omg how annoying for you both! Hope it's negative, but what an unnecessary expense and hassle

Manifestingbaby · 15/11/2021 03:32

Can't sleep 😕

@clolo congratulations that's great!

@Minster2012 aw lovely you've told your friends. Sounds like you are at the enjoying it stage of things now 😀

@paintfairy you poor thing, that all sounds really miserable. There better be a bfp at the end of this!

@becarefuloutthere ooh exciting getting back on the road. is this to accommodate baby? How long until due date? Hope you are doing well x

@Bea14 tentative congratulations, hopefully just implantation bleeding. Good luck testing in the morning.

@InkyPaper hope all is ok.

@Dollybird89 hi lovey! Nice to see you back. Sorry to hear you are back to long cycles and sick on your week off. Boo. Maybe chase you the gp? See if they can give you something to bring on af?

@Somatronic sorry you've had no success with the drugs. Do you know the reason for infertility? Would iui be an option or do you need to go straight to ivf?

Any news from Justanothercyster or did i miss it? Wasn't she due early November?

blackcurrantqueen · 15/11/2021 06:38

@clolo congratulations! So excited for you!

@Somatronic hangover sounds like it resulted from a good night, hope it's not still with you this morning 😂 Asking your dad for grandchild money made me laugh haha. It's mad the disparity in different areas, my area is no funded IVF except for exceptional circumstances! But Ireland sounds a whole different ball game.

@Vil10 aww your mama! What a babe 🥰

@Dollybird89 Hi darling, hope you're getting on okay as can be 😘😘

@bez91 Oh man, good luck with the PCR? Just adults or toddler too? 🥴

@Bea14 tentative congratulations! Hope today's line is darker for you! We love to see it 🤗 xx

@paintfairy I really hope all these abdo symptoms are baby not progesterone 🤞🏼

@InkyPaper thinking of you and your family still darling xxx

@Juno231 red velvet dress? 🔥 why didn't we see pictures on insta did I miss them??

Not much to update here, I have a scan on Friday and scanxiety changes but doesn't seem to go away! DD has another temperature (shock..)
WFH officially now which is weird but quite nice, and I am really thinking I should start to have a think about what I might need for the baby 😂 Blissful ignorance!

Juno231 · 15/11/2021 07:38

@Manifestingbaby she gave birth to a girl on the 10th via c section - there are pics on Instagram 🥰

@blackcurrantqueen ah I just don't like photos of myself usually 😅. What week scan is it this Friday? Got my fingers crossed for you

I had my annual realisation yesterday that I have like four months left to get pregnant in order to have a baby in 2022 😅. With me turning 34 in Jan that basically means four months left to have a baby as a 34 year old. And to think I came off the pill for this at 30!

Franklydear · 15/11/2021 07:57

@Juno231 what you talking about? you’re gorgeous... try 44, 45 in September, it’s now or never

Off to bloods before work, who else has things this week?

Manifestingbaby · 15/11/2021 07:57

@Juno231 oh lovely, not the csection but the little girl. Hope they are both doing well. Ugh those deadlines ! Fucking depressing isn't it , every year doing the same math! At least with ivf you have a good of still hitting 2022 🤞

Sunbird24 · 15/11/2021 08:14

@Minster2012 so chuffed for you, lovely way to just drop that little bombshell on your friends too!

@Franklydear I’m a similar age to you, I’ll be 44 by the end of this year. Still can’t quite get my head around that, even with the multiplying grey hairs!

I’ve started POAS again, next embryo transfer should happen next week…

bez91 · 15/11/2021 08:38

@blackcurrantqueen thankyou! Think it's very unlikely I've been testing all week for work and no symptoms. No test for DD, suppose because she doesn't have her own email address 😆 we had to take her with us though. Is it a growth scan Friday? Yes I think maybe you should think about needing a few things now, do you have anything? I think I'll be the same.

@Juno231 it's hard when you realise timings/ages etc what's your next steps with ivf clinic, are you waiting to hear?

blackcurrantqueen · 15/11/2021 08:47

@Juno231 @bez91 it's a 30 week scan! As part of recurrent MC clinic follow up they offer that and a 36 week scan too - which is NYE!
I need mainly winter bits as DD was a heatwave baby!
Will start writing myself some lists soon and stress myself out I am sure 😂

Minster2012 · 15/11/2021 09:03

Sorry had a hella busy day yesterday 🙌🏻

Oooo ladies we are heading up to buds bus time so name titles please!

@Dollybird89 are you going to try get OH to chase for his SA? The Lego and house sort sounds good, I need a good old house sort, need to ensure I have all my Xmas stuff sorted 😬I also agree why not get back on the HIIT soon as you feel better?

@becarefuloutthere I can't imagine not driving or having a car. But then I guess I live in the country. Omg last night I dreamt I was having a huge flirt with a random person who turned out to be a chef!

@paintfairy ah you see the pains are all passable (so to speak!) I def wouldn't go for 3 fybogel 😂😬have a chat with the clinic & see what they say. I'm in awe of your holding off testing! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Thank you @Juno231 @Franklydear it was a nice way to tell Ppl, and yesterday with our other friends over at ours a friend who was sorting drinks said as I was faffing with the food in the aga "Minster a gin for you?" And I said er no thanks as I'm actually pregnant too & his side who was talking to our other (8 months pregnant friend) just went "hold on WHAT??" It was good 😊

@Sunbird24 ooooo next transfer 🙌🏻🤞🏻next week that's exciting!

@Somatronic that's really not exciting, oh darling I'm so sorry AF arrived early & it's not worked. How much is ivf in Ireland?

@Bea14 that's lovely news! Has it got darker? We totally understand the fear 🤞🏻😊

@Vil10 you sound like you've had a lovely weekend & it's good to be chilled, you DTD done leading up to it right?

@bez91 how frustrating for you hopefully it's all negative

@Manifestingbaby yes @Justanothercyster had a baby girl at the end of last week after a verrrrryyyyy long labour. @Florence13 is due too but baby happy inside 😂thank you it's starting to feel a bit real now. Not quite at excited stage but getting there

@Juno231 you will get that BFP in don't worry but yeah 4 years after coming off the pill that's not nice 😬

@Franklydear also still time! What have you decided to do sticks wise this month?

OP posts:
Juno231 · 15/11/2021 09:05

@blackcurrantqueen oh wow that's mad how quickly that's gone!

@Franklydear @bez91 I have my trial embryo transfer on Wednesday. Then nothing until some blood tests next month.

Blood bloody difficult, my veins wouldn't bleed, they got a tiny bit but don't know if it is enough... They tested for lh and FH something,
@Minster2012 with DH working late evenings, past 10, Monday to Thursday, I think I'll give them a miss, and do it properly after the next cycle, I am cd 25 so can't be long
@Juno231 cool, getting to the exciting part!

Somatronic · 15/11/2021 09:44

@bea14 fingers crossed for you!

@Vil10 that story about your mum is so sweet! I think mine will help us - if not I'll be back to the credit union for yet another loan!

@Manifestingbaby my infertility is due to PCOS. I don't really know what IUI is. Along with the cost, this is the other big problem with having no public fertility treatment. I'll have to leave the team at the public hospital who have been helping me up until now and find a new clinic to discuss all the private options. And it's very hard to know who to trust. I'm also worried I'll have to start all the tests etc from scratch.

@Minster2012 IVF seems to be around €4500 here but that's not including appointments or tests so you can probably add another €1000 to that. Lovely stories about telling your friends by the way! They must be thrilled for you.

@Juno231 these milestones are rough aren't they. I've not been trying as long as you but I'm a little older and I've never felt as old in my life as I have since starting TTC 😅
