OMG I just wrote a HUGE reply & lost it.
Some friends just left and it was lovely, earlier in the pub the 4 other ppl were discussing a mutual friend who most of us found out recently is expecting but didn't know when due. my DH was told a fair few weeks ago so I assumed further along but then one of the others said "we spoke to them yesterday & they said they just had their 12 week scan yesterday so what would that make them?" I said oh I guess around the 22nd of may like me. The look on their faces as the Penny dropped was lovely ☺️
@clolo that's such good news I'm so pleased for you 🎉🎊and I get all my hospital appointments through the post. Midwives through text.
@larrythelizard you should DEF try get it sorted before TTC officially again
@pennysays im not sure, I got my monthly testing at the GP but we did AMH & SA at private ivf cos we were already signed up there. FYI it cost about £300 for SA & AMH.
@Dollybird89 thank you lovely, the rainbow 🌈 bear is waiting for it's rainbow baby 🎉and CD100 something? How did you get on with your weekly blood work & the ivf appointment that was postponed in may?
Right so for those might be squeamish about 💩 scroll on, I know there might be ppl around, or 👀, who are STUPIDLY squeamish about normal bodily functions but @paintfairy my specialist subject 😂
Firstly @paintfairy it can be a pregnancy symptom. As can crying at MacDonalds advert (either that or you are just weird)
Often ppl feel bloated for a long time from EC, all that rummaging, plus bloating can be a side effect of progesterone and pregnancy.
But What you are describing is exactly how I feel often.
My bowels (or lack of) gurgle & churn often audibly so, and more so if I'm lying down
And I get a pain. Often “clutching my tummy” provides a bit of instant relief but it's horrible uncomfortable.
Often when I’m going about my day to day life I get a sudden “oh shit” feeling like I’m going to explode & I need to poo 💩 soon & go to move quickly & can’t cos I’m bent double with stabbing pains. Then I think “oh shit I need to get to a loo” and have to either go through the pain & do a very embarrassing waddle to get a toilet soon. But it’s those pains. Often then going to the loo provides that relief. For me it’s sudden urges for explosive bowel movements which is accompanied by trapped wind.
Progesterone can cause both constipation and bloating /wind and your hormones play a large part in your digestive tract (hence constipation in pregnancy) For me it’s always worse in the morning where I gurgle so much DH says “are you ok?” And I know I will be better once I’ve been to the loo but often I have to wait until my body is ready and yes it’s very uncomfortable. Lying on my side fetal position also helps.
My bowel consultants have said that everyone has such different reactions to various bodily changes you have to find out works for you, so (and this is very much just MY OPINION Cos mine is caused by my bowel surgery/lack of bowels as opposed to TTC /ivf related) I would say you are having quite an extreme reaction to the synthetic progesterone and trapped wind is playing a large part in the uncomfortableness mixed with constipation which gives a painful situation.
I would def try talk to your clinic, maybe taking the progesterone all at night might make it more Manageable for you to help it try to work with when your digestive tract is slower overnight, and try things for the wind like peppermint tea before you go to bed & in the morning. I’m not sure about the constipation/fybogel in line with that, I'd prob steer clear & try more fruit & things for wind.
But what you describe is exactly how I am often & yes awfully uncomfortable. The issue is that if you get a BFP it may continue so trying to find something that helps would be good
Phew, sorry for the long & shit 💩essay ladies 😂🤣nothing tmi here
