Hey everyone,

My husband and I have been TTC for 5 years and have recently been put on clomid - we're on our second cycle at the moment.
Ive had bloods done and they came back with high prolactin results so the doctors prescribed me with bromocriptine which has been working to normalise my levels. My DH has had his swimmers tested and the results came back with slightly low count but the doctor told us it's nothing to worry about.
Our official diagnosis is 'unexplained infertility' and we've been sent away with 6 months worth of clomid.

Just wanted to know if anyone is in a similar boat or if anyone else is on clomid at the moment?

@OneDay86 I get ovulation pain quite a bit and it's worse on the clomid, think I ovulated two eggs last month too as my progesterone level was 60 when checked at day 21 but yes quiet normal to get the ovary twinges

NuclearBunker · 07/03/2022 17:13

I had eight cycles of clomid after 3 years TTC: I have a daughter who will be 15 this year.

Alonelonelylonersbadidea · 07/03/2022 17:23

I've never taken Clomid but I thought I'd mention that my friend had her 3 babies all with clomid.

Marvellouslymadmum · 07/03/2022 17:32

@NuclearBunker that's great to hear thank you! And @Alonelonelylonersbadidea I love hearing the success stories thank you

Kay00 · 07/03/2022 18:02

@OneDay86 Its quite normal to feel like that. My ovaries often feel big and sore and I plenty of ovulation pain. There is a risk of OHSS, but its quite low.

No other symptoms other than the usual LP symptoms caused high progesterone: sore boobs, grumpiness and the dreaded constipation!

OneDay86 · 16/03/2022 07:10

Just thought I’d pop in and see how everyone is doing?

Also just had my progesterone result back after my first round of Clomid - it was 33, which the nurse said indicated I ovulated. So really pleased about that, although have to admit I thought it was going to be higher? Only because last year I had a progesterone test and it was 40, and that was without any meds to help ovulation. Anyway, doctor is happy for me to stick at 50mg dose for now.

@Kay00 @Marvellouslymadmum thank you that’s good to know you both also had ovulation pain/sore ovaries, and it’s a normal side effect of Clomid.

Thank you @NuclearBunker and @Alonelonelylonersbadideanfor the positive stories. Love reading success stories, gives me hope ❤️

Kay00 · 16/03/2022 13:21

@OneDay86 Yey! I'm glad to hear you ovulated. 33 is a good result Smile

My period started which marked the end of my 6th cycle of Clomid. So I am now back into the Wild Wild West of un-medicated cycles.

I really hope Clomid is the ticket for you ladies x

Melpainter · 04/07/2022 19:31

@OneDay86 How did you get on with clomid I started taking it today

OneDay86 · 04/07/2022 19:52

Hi @Melpainter good luck for your first Clomid round! What strength are you starting on?

I did 2 rounds of 50mg days 2-6 then took a cycle off to go on holidays for 2 weeks in April/May. Have done another 2 rounds of 50mg since. So I’ve got 2 rounds left but… I’ve just found out I have endometriosis, which is most likely affecting my ability to get pregnant. I just had an op done yesterday to remove it. I’ve been cleared by my consultant to start round 5 of Clomid today! So fingers crossed one of these last 2 rounds might actually work now that the endo has been removed 😊

If no one has mentioned it to you yet, I’d highly recommend taking the Clomid tablets at night so you’re most likely to sleep through any side effects. Fingers crossed for you x

OneDay86 · 04/07/2022 19:55

Haven’t been on here for a while. Just wanted to wish everyone luck with their Clomid cycles. Also @Kay00 so sorry to hear it didn’t work out for you. Hope you get your bfp back in that Wild Wild West of unmedicated cycles 🤞 I might be joining you there soon x

Melpainter · 04/07/2022 21:40

@OneDay86 thank you for replying, I’m super excited about this we are going through this at the same time, I did conceive first round with my dd who is 7 now and had multiple MC since but now I have 50mg clomid one a day. I’m praying we are lucky first time again, but given my age now and slightly more heavier may be an issue. I was reading this thread and couldn’t wait to hear your outcome and I hope for both us us and that we get our BFP around the same time 😍 so pleased for you that they diagnosed your endometriosis and treated it if day it’s about time for you x

Hey ladies,

I wondered if I could just chime in.
So, I just wondered really - what was everyone else's journeys like?
Mine started in May 2020 when I got my implant removed, I had no bleeding until November 2020 and it was fairly irregular. In October 2021 I had a missed period that didn't come back until March 2022 and since then it's been chaotic to say the very least.
I was diagnosed with PCOS in May 2022 my doctor called me this morning and said she is referring me to the hospital for a Laparoscopy (which sounds absolutely horrendous if the NHS website is anything to go by!) She also said once this is done and they've confirmed there's no blockage they will put me on Clomid to induce ovulation.
My friend was TTC for 18 months, had all the tests done before being prescribed clomid and out of the blue conceived naturally!

Reading your success stories is heartwarming and has made me feel so much better, I've been having a 2 week breakdown due to being so overwhelmed and emotionally burnt out from this whole process.

Please send baby dust my way if you are currently preggers!! ❤️

Melpainter · 11/07/2022 22:17

Finished clomid on Friday, started getting egg white mucous today and I’m really bloated but more strangely I have a horrid metallic taste when I swallow my ovulation app says I’m in my fertile window so hoping to conceive this time round, I have a follicle tracking scan booked for this thursday I’m hoping it will show I’ve ovulated fingers crossed

@PCOSbid i wish you all the best with your procedure hopefully it will be worth it and you will conceive with clomid

@OneDay86 how are you getting on? Have you finished clomid now what’s your symptoms?

look forward to hearing from you x

pcosandme.x · 11/07/2022 22:50

Hi ladies. Hope I can join you! On my fourth round of clomid 100mg. Bit fed up with it all tbh! 🫣 Xx

jessg1999 · 12/07/2022 16:36

hey ladies, jumping on here,

I am 22 years old, nearly 23 and me and my OH have ben trying to conceive for 2 years.

I had the hospital Monday for scans and tests etc, she found that i have lots of eggs, a healthy womb and healthy tubes, but it was confirmed i have polycystic ovaries, as i sometimes miss periods (I normally have a period every other month)..but sometimes its been as bad as missing up to 9 months at a time and also I don't ovulate by myself.

Monday i was put on METFORMIN to take daily and 4 rounds of CLOMID. after that she said its the IVF route if CLOMID is unsuccessful, but she said she is hopeful i will be pregnant within 3 to 4 months. fingers crossed.

Has anyone else been told everything looks in great healthy condition other than not ovulating yourself? how long were you on clomid before it worked.

good luck to you all, sending baby dust.

many thanks,
jess

Hi all, just an update from me since finishing clomid first round for second child. I have pcos and have a cycle once or twice a year. So when Dr gave me clomid this month I was maybe 90 odd days since my last AF so they didn’t say wait for AF just take it so I had 50mg clomid on 4th July to the 8th July. I started feeling aching symptoms from left ovary on the 9th and 10th July I was using Pearl a home ovulation detection and the results were going up and down daily, as seen in the image below. The blue line is FSH and the pink is LH, So yesterday I had the gynaecology scan and she said I had definitely ovulated on the left side, so I ovulated somewhere within 6 days after finishing clomid I think around the 12th or 13th July, the scan showed an endo lining of 9.63mm too which I believe is good for implantation. now I’m in the two week window and praying we have timed everything correctly, my other half said he put arm bands on his swimmers so they have more chance of meeting the egg 🤣 got to love his sense of humour, that helps with my stressed head over obsessing about ovulation and tww and so on
anyways I hope this story helps and I will let you know the results in two weeks, fingers crossed 🤞 good luck to everyone on here xx

Clomid1 · 15/07/2022 12:54

Hi, Thought I’d come back and post on this thread incase anyone stumbles upon it in the future. I posted earlier in this thread saying i was on my second round of clomid trying for first child. We had been trying for 2 years with one miscarriage in the middle and I was also on metformin. I was successful on my second round of clomid. Baby is now here and 6 weeks old. Don’t give up hope!

jessg1999 · 15/07/2022 14:51

@Clomid1 AMAZING, I found this thread last week and read every comment, as i have just started metformin, and have 4 rounds of clomid, ready to take when nescessary. i am so nervous but so excited. I saw your story and i'm so thrilled to see that you got your miracle baby, congratulations. this has filled me with so much hope for myself. im not giving up!!! thank you xxxxx

Clomid1 · 17/07/2022 11:07

@jessg1999 it will definitely happen. Keep going. Along with metformin and clomid if you don’t already try and add in a bit of exercise and also some healthy meals into your diet. This will help you later in pregnancy as well so its good to start now if you don’t already. I didn’t and had a horrible labour. Looking back to my journey I genuinely believed this would never happen. It’s very easy to lose hope. The mistake I made was I kept it bottled up, maybe try to confide in someone you’re close to on days your struggling. Its a tough journey but you will get there. Wishing you the very best of luck on your journey.

Melpainter · 20/07/2022 15:17

It’s 9dpo and I am having dizzy spells, light bleeding on tissue when I wipe and mild
cramping … is this AF or implantation bleeding? This was first cycle of clomid, if this is AF should it’s a week early technically so what do I do? Tests are negative still, do I take second round of clomid or wait another week to test. I have bloods booked tomorrow, the waiting is really getting me down and the bleeding is really worrying me I never had this with dd last time on clomid she stuck first time round no bleeding but that was 7 years ago maybe my bodies changed my friends 9 weeks pregnant and she had spotting too,
I wish I had a crystal ball 😞

Hana89 · 20/07/2022 15:49

@Melpainter I wouldn't start another round of Clomid in case you are pregnant and I think also Drs tend to advise taking Clomid from the first day of "full flow" so if this is AF it will be okay to wait a day or so to be certain before starting your next Clomid. Perhaps give your GP a call and seek some advice? Good luck 🍀🤞 xxx

Melpainter · 20/07/2022 16:04

@Hana89 thank you for your message. I will be seeing GP tomorrow, I just went to the toilet again and there was nothing there when wiping this time 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I do have a slightly unpleasant taste in my mouth too praying for BFP 🤞 xx

Hana89 · 20/07/2022 16:05

@Melpainter I'm keeping everything crossed for you! 🍀🤞🍀🤞🍀

Melpainter · 20/07/2022 21:58

So the bleeding has subsided I did a test and saw a very faint line I don’t know if anyone can see it but I can better than in the picture 🤞🤞🤞 please please let this be true 🙏
