Hey everyone,

My husband and I have been TTC for 5 years and have recently been put on clomid - we're on our second cycle at the moment.
Ive had bloods done and they came back with high prolactin results so the doctors prescribed me with bromocriptine which has been working to normalise my levels. My DH has had his swimmers tested and the results came back with slightly low count but the doctor told us it's nothing to worry about.
Our official diagnosis is 'unexplained infertility' and we've been sent away with 6 months worth of clomid.

Just wanted to know if anyone is in a similar boat or if anyone else is on clomid at the moment?

@Noshowlomo amazing thank you for sharing!!

Shellb3 · 24/12/2021 04:17

How much Letrozole where you given and how many eggs

Clomid2021 · 17/01/2022 22:27

Hi All,

Me and my partner used Clomid as I suffer with PCOS, I was a little apprehensive but with got pregnant on the first cycle and we now have a healthy 10 month old.

WaitingForEgg · 17/01/2022 22:44

Not clomid but we are starting Letrozole this month
I also take 1500mg of metformin per day (PCOS)
We have a 6 year old and have been TTC no 2 for 18 months
My AMH was 65 with +++ follicles on ultrasound
However I did think I ovulated at least some of the time (progesterone 30.6, apparently 30 is cut off for ovulation)
So am worried how much diff Letrozole will make

PCOSWarrior · 30/01/2022 14:50

Hi ladies! How is everyone getting on? Last week I got my negative test after our MMC and D&C on 30th Dec. It was a tough week mentally but I've been using this month to focus on diet and fitness to keep the blues at bay.
I've got a pre-referal appointment for the Recurrent Miscarriage clinic in Manchester on 17th Feb and hoping by April we'll have some answers and I can start on Metformin and Clomid again with a proper care plan in place for if we are lucky again. 🤞

Kay00 · 01/02/2022 09:44

@PCOSWarrior So sorry to hear about your MMC xx Its positive you are being referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic, hopefully they will find the source of your troubles xx I hope you get lucky again soon xxx

I'm on my 5th cycle of Clomid. No luck so far. I'm 6DPO.

xoJellyBean · 01/02/2022 11:53

Hi ladies, I hope I can join you. On my first round on clomid and metformin 🤞🏻

@PCOSWarrior so sorry about your MMC x

PCOSWarrior · 01/02/2022 12:16

Good luck @xoJellyBean!! Please keep us posted 🍀

OneDay86 · 22/02/2022 20:50

Hi ladies, can I join too please? Both my OH and I are 36 and about to start first round of Clomid in 2 days time. We’ve been trying to conceive our first baby for 20 months now - had a chemical in Feb 2021 and a MMC in August. Not even a hint of a bfp since so fingers crossed this works for us and for everyone else for that matter! 🤞

Kay00 · 23/02/2022 13:41

@OneDay86 Welcome! Good luck for your first Clomid cycle - are you starting on a 50mg dose?

@xoJellyBean Welcome! Any updates? How are you getting on?

I'm CD13 of my 6th and final cycle of Clomid and due to ovulate this coming weekend. I will keep my fingers crossed for success, but it isn't looking too hopeful for me now. I have had a meeting with my fertility consultant and we are now applying for IVF funding.

xoJellyBean · 23/02/2022 17:33

Hi again 🥰 I am on CD27, I had a scan on CD12 which showed two dominant follicles but unfortunately my bloods confirmed that ovulation didn't happen 🙃 waiting for af now to start round 2.

@Kay00 I hope this cycle works for you! How do you monitor ovulation?

@OneDay86 good luck!!🥰

Kay00 · 24/02/2022 10:06

@xoJellyBean damn 😪 hopefully a higher dose next time will do the trick for you.

I monitor ovulation by tracking my temperature, its a pretty reliable technique for me at least.

OneDay86 · 27/02/2022 10:05

@Kay00 thank you! Yes I’m on 50mg days 2-6. I’m currently cd5 so have 1 tablet tonight and the last tomorrow. Fingers crossed for you! Hopefully this month is your month ❤️ Have you ovulated this weekend? We’re the same, going to try Clomid for a few cycles then go down the ivf route.

@xoJellyBean thank you! I’m sorry it didn’t work for you this month. What dose are you on? Like @Kay00 said hopefully a stronger dose will do the trick ❤️

Captainj1 · 27/02/2022 10:15

Just popping on to wish everyone good luck. I had secondary infertility and 6 rounds of ivf resulted in bfn after bfn. My consultant gave us a 5% chance of conceiving and told us to get on with life and enjoy our son, who was then 4 and conceived naturally although it took almost a year.

One month on clomid and I fell pregnant with my daughter, who is now 6. I am grateful for her every day, even when she’s having a massive strop 😂

Kay00 · 27/02/2022 10:33

@captainj1 thank you for your story xx

@oneday86 no... I haven't ovulated yet. I'm CD17 and, if I ovulate, this will be the latest ovulation on Clomid so far. My ovaries were very very sore a few days ago, usually around ovulation I get little shooting pains/popping sensation, but this time they just felt large and swollen... so I'm not sure what that means. I'm patiently waiting for a temp increase, but if it doesn't happen tomorrow then I'll assume it was a failed ovulation attempt.

Beth804 · 27/02/2022 17:44

@Kay00 Hi, sorry to jump on, but I saw your comment and had to tell you that when I finally conceived on clomid, my ovaries felt really swollen and painful. I ended up with twins, so this could have been why! Really hope is a positive sign for you too! X 😘

xoJellyBean · 28/02/2022 18:50

Hey again, still no af for me 😩🙃 it's gonna be a long one. My consultant has increased my dose to 100mg, is that normal then? I've done 1 round of 50mg

Kay00 · 28/02/2022 22:05

@xojellybean yes, its totally normal for them to up your dose if the 50mg didn't do the trick for you. You'll need to wait for your period to start... hopefully it won't be too long a wait.

@beth804 😊 thank you!

xoJellyBean · 01/03/2022 19:42

Just got a peak opk 🙃

OneDay86 · 02/03/2022 22:50

@Captainj1 thank you for sharing your positive story. Gives me hope!

@Kay00 how are you doing? Hopefully you just ovulated a little later this month. I always ovulate around day 11-13 but the month I got my bfp I didn’t ovulate until day 16! Was convinced I was out. Fingers crossed for you ❤️

@xoJellyBean that’s great you’ve got a peak! What cycle day are you on? Have also heard it is normal to have an increase in Clomid dose if you don’t ovulate on 50mg so don’t worry 😊 I’m having a 21 day progesterone done too and if I don’t ovulate I believe they’re going to up my dose on my next round too

Kay00 · 04/03/2022 23:35

@xoJellyBean yey!! Great news!

@oneday86 I'm good thanks. I ovulated on CD17 and I'm 5dpo now 😊 how are you getting on?

OneDay86 · 05/03/2022 10:22

@Kay00 that’s great news!! Glad you did ovulate in the end 😊 Was it much later than normal? Have everything crossed for you! I’m doing ok thanks, not ovulated yet but on CD11 so think it may be soon. Not sure if Clomid will make me ovulate later than I normally would?

Marvellouslymadmum · 05/03/2022 17:49

Sorry been Mia for a bit!

@xoJellyBean my consultant made me do 3 rounds at 50mg before upping me even though it didn't work on the 50! And I have two really long cycles 🤷🏼‍♀️ great that you got your peak though

Kay00 · 07/03/2022 14:50

Hi ladies. I'm 8dpo today, I had some light spotting yesterday at 7dpo. Before anyone gets excited I had something similar last month at 10/11dpo... so I think its likely a hormone thing. Just thought it might be worth noting unless its a Clomid thing.

How is everyone getting on?

OneDay86 · 07/03/2022 15:54

Hi @Kay00 thats interesting, have to admit my first thought was implantation bleeding! Have you had any other symptoms? Keeping fingers crossed for you! Well I think I ovulated yesterday on CD 12, finally got my LH peak in the end on CD11. Booked in for bloods next week to see if I’ve ovulated. Have to say I’ve had quite a lot of pressure/slight discomfort in my lower abdomen since CD11. I already ovulated before taking Clomid, just not all the time and poor quality ovulation. So was wondering if I’m at more risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome or if this is quite normal???

Hope everyone else is doing ok 😊
