Hey everyone,

My husband and I have been TTC for 5 years and have recently been put on clomid - we're on our second cycle at the moment.
Ive had bloods done and they came back with high prolactin results so the doctors prescribed me with bromocriptine which has been working to normalise my levels. My DH has had his swimmers tested and the results came back with slightly low count but the doctor told us it's nothing to worry about.
Our official diagnosis is 'unexplained infertility' and we've been sent away with 6 months worth of clomid.

Just wanted to know if anyone is in a similar boat or if anyone else is on clomid at the moment?

I’m in a similar boat. Second cycle of clomid, been trying for over 2 years. I am 30 and ttc baby no 1.

Unfortunately I don’t have a success story😞 but understand what you’re going through as I am in a similar position.

How are you finding clomid? Any symptoms? I’ve had no symptoms.

Missybeee · 27/09/2021 12:37

Hi Smile,

I'm in a similar situation to Clomid1. I'm 30, TTC for 2 and a half years, and I've literally just started my first cycle of Clomid today. Trying not to get excited Confused.

How did you both find your first cycle? Do you know if you ovulated?

ingall2 · 27/09/2021 17:05

I'm on my second round - had hot flushes, little bit of blurry vision and bloating as side effects.
I ovulate normally and I tracked on opk's so I definitely ovulated.
Hoping this is our month but trying not to get too excited 🙃
So nice to find people in a similar boat!

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/09/2021 19:03

Hi 👋🏻 I haven't got a success story either I'm afraid but will be starting my first round of clomid on my next cycle! I'm 42 ttc 3.5 years, I have two children so does my partner but none together just one mc 4.5 years ago. I've been given three months of clomid to try 🤞🏻

ingall2 · 27/09/2021 21:04

Ah that's exciting! Fingers crossed for everyone!

Drinkyourweaklemondrink · 27/09/2021 21:09

I have endo and I didn't know it at the time
I conceived on month 2 of the clomid. We now have a 10 year old Xx good luck and hope it goes well

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/09/2021 21:16

@Drinkyourweaklemondrink oh my that's amazing, thank you for sharing! I have endo and adeno and was worrying clomid may not work for me but 🤞🏻

ingall2 · 29/09/2021 19:41

How's everyone getting on?

wegoagain · 29/09/2021 21:16

Good luck to you all 🤞🏼

I was put on Letrozole which is similar to clomid and I was lucky enough to fall first cycle x

FlyOnTheWall89 · 29/09/2021 21:43

@ingall1991 Hi! I’m TTC baby no.1 - we are on our 6th month of trying. I don’t have experience of clomid but my mother had me from using it. My parents tried for 3 years, then she was given clomid and became pregnant within 3 months she says. She went on to have 3 more children without any intervention at all. We are a fam of 6 Smile. X

madmumofteens · 29/09/2021 21:48

Congratulations @Clomid1, its so lovely to see a positive on a thread like this after you have struggled. Fingers crossed everything goes well for you. We're you on 50mg per day?

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/10/2021 13:59

@Clomid1 ooh that's amazing congratulations! 🤞🏻 for a healthy happy pregnancy for you. Definitely gives me hope for starting mine

Clomid1 · 03/10/2021 14:22

@Missybeee hi yep i was on 50mg. I am also on 100mg of metformin.

On day 21 of my first cycle of clomid they took a prog test which confirmed ovulation. It was 63 (I ovulated on CD 17).

This cycle I ovulated on CD16. On clomid I had no side effects, ovulation cramps were strong but no other side effects.

Clomid1 · 03/10/2021 14:23

@Marvellouslymadmum good luck 😁 hope it goes well. I was also told to take it between CD2 and 6

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/10/2021 15:04

@Clomid1 thank you, I'll be on 50mg day 2-6 aswell, was the metformin just given along side the clomid or for another reason?

Clomid1 · 04/10/2021 11:21

@Marvellouslymadmum metformin was for pcos. Thats how I ended up concieving the first time (was on it for ages).

Marvellouslymadmum · 04/10/2021 16:11

@Clomid1 ahh yes I've heard they use it for that, I have endo and adeno rather than pcos so don't know if it'll work for me but 🤞🏻

Onetraumaatatimeplease · 04/10/2021 16:45

Hi, this may or may not help but I'm a clomid baby. My mum and dad also had unexplained infertility they tried for six years for me, the doctor prescribed clomid. Within 3 months she was pregnant.

Marvellouslymadmum · 04/10/2021 19:31

@Onetraumaatatimeplease amazing! Love hearing that it can be successful, thank you for sharing

PCOSWarrior · 19/10/2021 08:27

This thread has been so lovely to read!
I am currently 7dpo - it is my first month on 50mg Clomid and 1g Metformin. I'm 32 and DH and I have been trying for 2.5 years. We had a miscarriage November 2020 and a chemical before that.

I have a blood test today to check progesterone levels but I am fairly sure I ovulated (positive OPKs and clear, egg white CM galore! Haha!) I am so hoping I have conceived this month!! My breasts are sooooo sore, but I have read that Clomid can do that sometimes. We'll have to wait and see!
How is everyone else getting on? Any BFPs since September? Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 19/10/2021 23:18

Hi @PCOSWarrior I'm due af tomorrow or Thursday so will be starting my first clomid cycle then! Everything crossed for you xx

PCOSWarrior · 19/10/2021 23:27

Hi @Marvellouslymadmum
Eeeek! That's so exciting!
I am sure you already know this, but some people recommend taking Clomid at night to sleep through the side effects (if you get any) and I found that really worked well for me.
Good luck to you and I hope it all works out for you too xx
