It’s been thirteen million years & Minster & the good time crew are still here…its September, autumn in full swing and we haven’t done too bad so far this month compared to previous months but I still think we are owed ladies.

Oh and we don’t just talk TTC, we’ll chat about anything. In fact that’s positively encouraged cos TTC can be bloody boring sometimes!

It costs an embarrassing life (or TTC) story for your ticket please then you can hop on board

Agency bus driver at the wheel.…

All aboard bus number 48

Plugging @minster2012 blog \\\___, we’ve had cancer, travels & ivf so need to get to the fun stuff, more ivf, surrogacy and more! #shamelessplug
minstermusings.co.uk for the blog that’s where the full stuff happens
& minstermusings on insta - some of our ladies have made special anonymous accounts so we can link up via me 🥰 so if Insta gets mentioned it’s there

If you want to sign up & get updates please do, please note your username if you comment shows up to others so maybe make it anonymous I won’t be offended 😂🤣(unless you are mean)

@Juno231 I had thought about going private but I just don't have a clue where to start with it.

I'm going to be changing Dr surgeries so hoping for a better time with a different GP.
Hoping the gynae referral won't be too much longer either.

Has anyone had any experience with Myo-inositol?

Report
Minster2012 · 19/10/2021 13:00

@dmb91 no experience of myo Insitol I'm afraid but if you wanted to go private you can Google local clinics & give them a call on what testing they do /how much a consultation is. Mine (which is in nhs hospital so does nhs too) is £200 fir an initial consultation & around £200 fir testing like SA, AMH and done scans I think

@Vil10 I bet it was hard 🤪🍆(literally) and bring a mess sometimes then fine other times is basically how I live my life so nowt wrong with that!!

@InkyPaper yeah I'm with @paintfairy im afraid it may get worse, I was that person that phoned every day (& don't care) and put reminders on my phone for "have I heard from XXX" on my phone or "chase XX" it's the only way I'm afraid

@Franklydear I think I've got it!

@dmb91 I take myo inositol every day (well, most days because I forget some weekends) I'm on 2000mg metformin a day. I didn't notice any huge change, but maybe if I stopped taking it I would? My appetite is less I think but I'm not sure if that is the metformin or the inositol.

I'm going to keep taking it anyway as it doesn't seem to be doing me any harm. My blood sugars have always been normal so maybe someone with more obvious insulin issues would see a bigger difference.

@Minster2012 could be a rainbow bus next? Yes my appointment is next Tuesday ! Feels very weird and surreal to think about. Laptop nah, still using my own!

Supposedly fertile week for me but we haven't DTD once this cycle yet and OH is going to be tired every night from exercising so I might struggle to get him in the mood...

Just been for my booking appointment with the midwife (was a rather long and emotional appointment having to go thru all the complications in DSs pregnancy plus all the early losses) but the midwife was really lovely. She was also very annoyed on my behalf at the treatment from the GP and fertility clinic over the chemicals which was sweet. Anyways that's not what I came on to say, got weighed and the clinics scales are measuring a whole stone LIGHTER than mine at home!!! 😲😲😲 And I weighed myself this morn so I know exactly what my scales were saying. I almost asked her if her scales needed calibrating but kept my mouth shut 😂 So I've been thinking this whole time that I'm a whole stone heavier than I actually am, visiting the midwife was the best and quickest diet ever to lose a stone in a day 😂💪

@paintfairy @Minster2012 urgh, the fun never stops with TTC, does it? 😂🙈 On the bright side, this does give me an excellent excuse to get new stationery to organise myself 😁

@Vil10 yeeeeah, the waiting is not fun! Felt like I was constantly chasing the GP, then the hospital clinic. However, it can vary wildly from place to place so your GP and fertility unit might be more on it than mine was!

@DKDK123 omg that's amazing!! Wish I could drop a stone in a day 😂 glad your booking in appointment went well! ❤️

@Juno231 it can be hard to stay motivated. Surely if exercise makes him too tired he can ease off just for one week a month?

We had a DTD fail last night. DH couldn't keep it up. In fairness to him I was in shit form and made it clear that it was the last thing I wanted to do but we had to stick to to nurse's schedule so that probably didn't help him 😕 If I ovulated on Thursday it probably doesn't matter anyway as we did it twice on Thursday and once on Saturday (in my parents' house - nightmare) so hopefully we're covered. I think I'm impregnable at the stage anyway!

@DKDK123 congratulations on the weight loss! I wish that would happen to me!

DKDK123 · 19/10/2021 17:24

@Somatronic we had plenty of DTD fails while ttc, I had to stop telling DH when FW was as the pressure to perform got too much for him some times. Try not to worry about it too much, if you ovulated on Thurs sounds like you've got it covered. I know its so hard to keep any faith in it working some months, just try hang in there.

Minster2012 · 19/10/2021 17:37

@Somatronic DTD fails here too, but if you ovulated on Thursday (last week??) then by Monday I think most of us would be taking the night off anyway!!

@InkyPaper keen to see this new stationery, love a pen porn 🥰😍

@DKDK123 that is BRILLIANT!! Glad the appointment went ok as well, they are lovely aren't they. Best way to lose a stone, def get your scales looked at. I'm picking at food so much (and I'm still able to eat "normally" as no sickness so I'm doomed. Which is great as when I spoke to MIL yesterday after the midwives she said "well make sure you don't put a load of weight on, don't pick you don't want to get fat". Great thanks for that 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Juno231 DTD IS exercise, what the bloody hell kind of exercise is he doing?! Next week!! Booooooommmm can't believe they've not sorted you a laptop yet??

@Amy00 thank you darling, how are you with all that new routine/meds to chase?

Oh and from tkmaxx I did get a water bottle for DS, no sheets but another furry blanket, some pretzel things, a sieve, and A LOAD of bras I need to try. I didn't buy the building blocks or shoes DS put in the cart or any Xmas items (yet!)

@Minster2012 whenever I go to tkmaxx they never have anything i need. 🙄 Although I did manage to get a feather duvet from the home sense store when I needed one.
@DKDK123 dropped a stone in a day?! I think i need that. Whenever I go anywhere I always weigh more! And when I went to the fertility clinic, I was somehow 2.5cm shorter than I measured at the hospital! Making my bmi even worse. 🙈🤣

DH is now ill with a cough and a cold. This better not affect our sperm! 🤬 And if I get it I'll be even less impressed. God knows where he's got it from, typically it's the first time we've had anything in almost 2 years. 🙄

Report
InkyPaper · 19/10/2021 20:45

@paintfairy aww your poor DH, hope he feels better quickly! Omg don't even get me started on the height measurements at the hospital!! I got measured on 3 occasions (at different clinics) and each time it came out as a different number 😂 does the clinic weigh you again? I'm more than a bit worried about getting weighed again 🙈

@Minster2012 I'm obsessed with stationery - DH put a ban on it for a while 😂 your MIL sounds a bit cheeky though - your weight is absolutely none of her business!

Minster2012 · 19/10/2021 21:15

@paintfairy wet cold Yorkshire weather 😂🤣you are missing the point, tkmaxx hardly ever has anything you NEED, it's all crap you didn't know you wanted 😂🤣

So I managed to keep a 2 pack of bras. Non underwired for comfort after DH going "well your boobs are just going into your armpit with that one" a lot when I was trying on and needing everything to have a really good HOIKING. But I need a bit of comfort for days mooching around the house, having only 2 bras that vaguely fit now & they are uncomfortable 🙈

I so want to watch MAFS but DH is having none of it 😩😖so I'll have to wait until tomorrow morning

@Minster2012 ah.... you mean like b&m? 🤣🤣🤣
And I really struggle with bras. I don't find wired comfortable but I'm not sure I'll get on with no underwire? I did finally buy a sports bra to ride in and that's OK (no wire) but it did dig in my shoulder. 🙄

@Minster2012 I've had my "phase 1" treatment which was 2 injections, now onto "phase 2" where we can actually try again, will need to take tablets after ovulation and supposed to travel to Epsom for intralipids before ovulation but there might not be time this month, we'll see, we have a zoom appointment with the consultant tomorrow so will see what he says. I am SO ready to get back on the bus!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Evening all, apologies if I don't comment often, it takes me ages to read and follow what is going on (joys of dyslexia!) And may often spell your usernames incorrectly so this is my apology in advance as it will happen! Ohh lots of sorry's in that sentence, sorry about that 😉

@DKDK123 Super impressed with the weight loss, I'm pretty sure I put that on just by licking a pizza, not that I lick pizzas often btw!

@somatronic really sorry you are having such a bad time, really hope things improve for you.
We are only just going In to cycle 2, 1st cycle dtd I took him by surprise and he was all embarrassed as I never take the lead normally and he panicked and it took him a while to relax!
This time round he has asked me to give him the window of time we need to be dtd so that he can mentally prepare and not feel so put on the spot!

Had a random typo today that I thought I would share as I keep giggling about it, it may not translate well here but it certainly tickled my funny bone.

My manager messaged to ask how the office had been today and in my reply I signed of with "I hope you enjoy your home' I was meant to say evening but my brain was focused on home time.
I got a very baffled response back!

I love typo and text errors oh and I also really appreciate food puns and dad jokes!
I am gonna stop waffling now as I feel like I am writing a dating profile!!

Hope you all enjoy your home 😉

Also was meant to say @minster2012 next have got some lively 2 back soft no wore bras, almost a hybrid of a sports bra and a regular bra, and they are chunky at the back so no steps digging in.

My dh pretends to hate mafs but conveniently decides to say in the lounge when I put it on! We are way behind though on ep 9 I think

@MegAnne83 I'm very much enjoying my home!! Love that! If you use the Mumsnet app you can type "reply" and start typing @... then the first letter of someone's username & it should bring up options. PLUS in the app you can type a reply, press the "x" button and it allows you to go out of the reply & back to the text, that's how we are all able to (make it look like) we are remembering all the stuff specific people have said...we aren't you can scroll backwards & forwards & type replies to ppl as you read them 🙌🏻game changer! Prob like you initiating the DTD 🤪😅. That's the kind of bra I've gone for, I def need chunky straps Cos if scarring on my shoulders & neck too which hurts 😬my DH refuses to watch MAFS now he just ends up shouting at the tv, even though I've told him there might be a fight tonight 🤦🏼‍♀️

Come on @Amy00 Epsom needs you!! Sounds like it's nearly ovulation & trying time then?
